I was going on all sorts of adventurous activities - zip lining, canyoning, hiking, etc. I needed a case that would protect my fragile phone and this one did the trick. I traveled the whole time without any worries about my phone falling, dropping in the water or anything. I highly recommend using one of these on any adventurous travel trip

We use the Otter Box for our iPads too. They last the lifetime of the phone (and it's even is in great shape when we upgrade to the next phone.. Easy to take on/off for cleaning. Highly recommend.

Thankfully we won't have to worry about that now that I've put a otterbox defender on her phone. She can throw her phone all over the place and I can stop holding my breath. We love our Otterbox cases.

He constantly has to replaces his phone cases because they just don’t hold up. This one has been dropped a good bit of times and has held up beautifully!

I have toddler at home and she accidentally dropped my phone few times. With this case nothing happened to my phone, because of its sturdiness.

They changed the design and there is insufficient lip around the sides of the screen and the camera. It is not going to do what I want it to do (protect my phone! when I drop it on uneven surface outside. Waste of money and I am not looking for a new brand of case to protect my phone the way it needs to be outside. Did they test this? Maybe inside on a flat surface.

My previous Otter Box cases had a pronounced lip raised above the screen. This case is almost flush with the screen. My only concern is that the phone doesn’t fit as snugly in the belt holster. Overall, I’m very happy.

You have to have long fingernails or have pull the case down. I’ll probably have to purchase a new case because I need that option. Pain in the butt. Daily. $65 down the tubes

Just bought the latest for my 13 Pro Max and while I don’t doubt the same protection is present, the no slip grip is definitely not. Disappointed

I like the orange, it helps me visually find my phone when I misplace it. The new one charges more money for an essentially a black case. SAD. PLEASE bring back the orange inside case/bumper

I di love the Otterbox Defender cases (having had them for 2 previous phones as well!, but I wish they (1) came in some better and lighter color choices as I am always in dark environments and (2) were just a bit more “price friendly”. Paying $50+ for a case and then having to add another $40+ for a screen protection glass adds another $100 to the cost of an already expensive phone. I also worry that the protective edges are not as deep as they used to be on my other models and pretty surely do NOT protect the camera lenses.

They don’t even include the glass protection in the defender like the used to! And that glass shield is another FORTY BUCKS. It’s a great product, just overpriced!

My only regret is that there isn't a defender series with a Pop-socket built in like I had in my previous case. The iPhone 13 Pro is a heavier phone than previous iterations and the pop-socket would have made dealing with it a lot easier. But given the choice between a pop-socket case for the iPhone 13 Pro and a Defender Series. Hands Down take the Defender.

They always have provided ample protection on the front and back of the phone. But the defender case for the iPhone 13 Pro does not have ample protection for the screen or camera area of the phone. The edge of the case is barely protruding past the screen. Seems there could’ve been a couple of more millimeters of deepness to protect the front end camera area. Compared to previous years this case does not seem to have any margin for error.

I like the new otterbox that allows the belt clip to rotate and tilt to hold the phone. That's a great feature. The only thing I worry about is the huge camera that is exposed when you don't have the belt clip attached. Overall pleased.

The only issue is the clips on the holster have broke numerous times. I have this one on an iPhone 13 Pro and I like how it allows the phone to lay flat. The new camera sticks out and without the cover it is the high spot.

The whole point of having the defender is for a high level of protection and the signature thick, solid feel and shape. These thin edges make it impossible to hold and makes me concerned about my screen. I don’t know who to tell but PLEASE bring back the classic design

I bought the Defender for an Apple 13 pro and what a surprise! Thinner and raised edges to protect camera and screen are just minimum to protect the new set of lenses and the screen. I expected something like the old Defender not like “Symmetry” . Your products are good, but this is not “RUGGED “, just another one. If you are looking an adventure case this is not the right one.

However, I have buyer’s remorse because I didn’t think that there would be a model that didn’t allow mag safe charging, and one that does. This one doesn’t. If that’s important to you, get the XT model.

I take it off and it charges with no problems. Put in on and it is very positional. Wish it worked better with the iPhone 13 pro. Had the iPhone XR with the case and it worked fine. Not sure what happened. Having to go with another brand. Also the belt clip broke after 3 days of use. Looked like the edges were grinding down. These cases will protect no doubt but seem to block other features

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn’t buy again I bought this case 2 weeks ago. The couriers are already showing wear marks that make the case look worn and dirty. The outer shell loosens easily when putting the phone in my back pocket ( the rubber pulls away from the plastic. I have had otter boxes before and thought this would be a good option to protect my phone. I don’t recommend this particular case, especially not this colour. Maybe the clear cases wouldn’t show the wear marks so soon.

However: The raised “rim” of the top part of the shell has been lowered to match screen height in the center, and slightly raised at the ends. In comparison, the IPhone X frame is raised around the entire perimeter of the screen. With the new lower height, you get “palm” check on the lower corners of the screen if you hold the phone one-handed. This results in the phone thinking you’re long-pressing whatever is in the lower corners. So the phone constantly thinks I want to rearrange home screen icons, activates voice texting, etc. Wish it was like the ol’ iPhone X Defender Case! Will probably look for another style when it comes time to replace this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor design I've used the Otterbox Defender cases for all my iPhones since the 4. The new Defender case for the iPhone 13 Pro is poorly designed. You can't put a third-party screen protector on the phone (it bubbles up and will not stay on. I was informed that I'd have to purchase an Otterbox brand screen protector, which is an additional $40+. The volume buttons on the case are extremely sensitive. I've already had issues with volumes going up or down when my phone is in one of my pockets.

The problem is that the "raised edges" around the screen are limited to the top and the bottom, instead of going all the way around like before. So basically it provides no protection for the screen at all if you drop it on its face. Definitely not worth the money.

I feel like the raised edges around the screen and around the camera aren't as deep as on the X case. Time will tell if I break the phone...I'm a dropper. The benefit is that the case feels less bulky but that may cost me.

I can tell you that this case protected my phone from much further drop than it's rated for as my granddaughter dropped (threw it off a second floor balcony - twice, with no damage. It's also not as big as some of the other cases that provide similar protection. It was a great investment to protect our device.

I had tried to use it but couldn't find it but when we arrived home and I got out of the truck there is was laying face down on the driveway with tire tracks on it. My phone and my case were fine. So thankful that I got such a great case. Thank you Otter Box just got my new iphone 13 pro a couple weeks ago. Wish I had taken a photo of the tire tracks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t buy the Defender, if using screen protection Loved my old Otter Box for my iPhone X, but the newer one for my iPhone 13 pro seems much less substantial, and wonder if it’ll provide the same level of protection. The reason I’m ranking this one star, is that the protective outer case pushes against the screen protection and lifts it in one corner. You’d think that these two products would be compatible since I purchased both from Otter Box, but they’re not!

If you place the phone in the holster with the screen facing in, there is a gap and the phone falls out rather easily. “Customer support said they are “working on a fix”, but how do you release a case that is obviously lacking?

Needless to say I have destroyed all the previous phones. My friend suggested I get an otterbox and have had great success. I haven’t broken a phone since and my memory isn’t the best so having it clipped to me helps out greatly, especially in emergency situations where I have had to call for help. The only thing that I have had a problem with is that since I use the clip so much I have broken the first one. I have a new one now. Thank you for the design,protection, and wear and tear the otterbox can withstand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as good as the old Defender cases I have bought countless Defender cases in the past and the "ruggedness" is not there anymore. The side profile ribs of this case are now so thin, they barely protect the screen from an impact. Same for the rear camera lens, the case is not deep enough. The belt clip does not have this "positive" snap clip action it used to have. The clip case flexes when you clip your case giving it a cheap and flimsy feeling. Otter has lost the focus on this Defender case by trying to "unbulk" it but this is not what a a Defender should be. A defender shall be padded and offer a strong positive clipping action. This is the worst defender case I ever bought.

This case provides optimal protection along with a belt clip to use, if desired. The case is textured on the edges for a non-slip grip. All ports and buttons on the phone are covered appropriately. Like this color combination of forest green and gold. If my phone is ever accidentally dropped, I hope this case will prevent damage to the phone and lenses.

Actually bought it because a coworker had one on his phone, dropped it from the top of a cooling tower ( about 50ft), hit the ground and no damage whatsoever.

I’ve bought lots of Otterbox products for my family and me for years. Always good protection but in the past there was a clear cover for the screen too. This time no screen protector with the Defender and Otterbox wanted another large amount of dollars to sell a screen protector separately for scratches. The screen protector is a tiny piece of clear plastic that costs close to nothing to manufacture. It should be included given the Defender’s price. Instead I bought the screen protector from another company for a few dollars. These little things undercut good will for the company name and product line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have always purchased the Defenders Series over the years because of your great quality. That quality is no longer there. I could tell the belt clip was flimsy the minute I took it out of the package. In the last month my phone has fallen out of the clip twice when it got bumped. Unfortunately I have to seek out another manufacturer to see what they have to offer. I paid over $100.00 for a case that is worth about $25.00. The quality is just not there anymore. I can’t chance that I could lose my very expensive iPhone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Iphone case i bought the Otterbox Defender to use as protection for my Iphone 13 Pro. I have used Otterbox cases on my Iphones 5 & 7, and this new one didn't disappoint. The exterior material feels good in my hand and is the right combination of textured but smooth, while still being somewhat low profile. The recess for the camera lenses is deep enough that the phone lays flat when I put it on a table. The only thing I wish to be different is that the screen protector would be integral with the case like it used to be. I bought the Amplify protector separately but I liked when it was part of the case better. The case seems protective, hopefully I never have to test that out.

Only issue I’ve had with this case is, since upgrading to the pro, when I jump or do a quick move, phone pops out of the clip. Thats a big disappointment. Didn’t have that issue with the 12 mini case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hate the Redesign I have an Otterbox Defender on my iPhone 11 which I love, so I bought another one for my new iPhone 13. The new design only has the raised edges around the screen on the top and the bottom, instead of going all the way around like before. The protection is not as good. If I would have had this design on my old phone my screen would have been shattered. Definitely not worth the money. I hate the new design and am currently shopping for a new phone case to protect my screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hunter Orange Case Needed I much preferred the case I had before for my iphone 6. It was of the Real Tree design with an orange case. It also had a screen protector built into it. I bought a new case for my Iphone 13 Pro , also of the Real Tree design, but found out the case is black in color and there is no screen protector. Both are big detractors in my book. For one the orange case made it more visible which comes in real handy when out in the woods and you should drop it or you put your phone down. Now I find myself leaving my phone in my vehicle because it is less visible than the previous case. I'll probably lose my phone at some point because of the low visibility issue.

I rode an upside down roller coaster and my phone slipped out of my pocket while upside down and at the highest point of the ride. I was ecstatic to find that my phone had no damage. Not even a scratch. I do not even have a screen protector on it and it is still in perfect condition. I couldn’t believe it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the Clumsier People I was always the kind of person who bought cheap phone cases because I didn't think there was much of a difference and it wasn't worth the extra money, but this case proves me completely wrong. My phone is extremely secure in this case and feels very, very protected. I don't worry at all if it falls out of my pocket. I work with dogs and also lovingly learned that it's very easy to clean when your phone accidentally falls out of your pocket into something... unpleasant you're trying to clean up. Absolutely nothing got on my real phone ( it luckily fell onto the back and not front ). Although it's thick and strong, it doesn't feel bulky, either, which I was worried of. The only downside I have is that it's not easy to take off, which I used to take my case off often and kept a debit card inside of it, but I can't with this one. Either way, I would highly recommend.

It will totally concealed front and back of your cellphone and with a heavy duty structure from front to back, that can take a fall if you was to drop your cellphone,it does protect your Iphone-13-12 also I believe it should take the same case,and the buttons are snug to your cellphone also and when it's fitted into the case it's very snug so be careful puting in your cellphone and make sure you line up the cellphone with the cradle of the Otter Box Deffender and place it in and your on your way with a sturdy Clip built-in to match. This would make a great Gift!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saggy rubber I’ve long believed that OtterBox phone covers offered the best protection but I’ve been disappointed. I finally decided to replace my previous Defender after a year of use because the rubber outer got too so loose and saggy, I was afraid it wouldn’t protect my phone anymore. After just a month, it looks like the replacement is going to have the same problem. They’re kind of expensive to have such a consistent problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well… Well…I mean it does work sometimes, but I dropped my phone from close to the ground (I estimate 1.5-2 feet) and it landed flat on its back and the entire back glass shattered.
