This otterbox has been a huge disappointment in that the access to the power button is hindered by the poor design of the case. This also makes using the combination power swich/fingerprint sensor even more awkward. Getting screenshots is now a two handed operation and you will no longer be able to make shots on the fly. Finger printing now takes multiple zttempts to get it right. I want my money back.

However the shape of the camera guards prevent pretty much all magsafe power banks from being able to connect properly. There was a promotion when I got this case and it came with a free otterbox brand magsafe power bank. The power bank stated it was compatible with defender series pro xt cases but the camera guards on the case prevented it from being able to snap on. Pretty disappointing. Circular magsafe accessories work better, but I recently got a ring stand that is slightly off center because of the camera guard.

The price is way to much for the quality. They want you to pay for the name and the name doesnt stand for quality anymore. Very disappointed in otterbox.

If I had any complaints it would be the available colors at launch. There was only two. But color aside it meets my expectations.

Otterbox use to be a good quality and trustworthy phone case. After seeing and trying it, I wouldn’t trust this case if you paid me to. What happened to the cases where you had a hard shell to protect your phone and a soft shell outer to prevent shocks yet it still looked good? Come on Otterbox, bring back a better quality and looking case. I regret buying this case. Thank GOD for Amazon.

There are a few cases available for the Fold 7, but they prioritize esthetics instead of prolonging the life the device; this case does both! It gives a rugged look and gives peace of mind in knowing your phone is protected by a quality case. I don't love the price, but I guess it's a drop in the bucket compared to the price of the phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's very unlike previous OB cases I've been putting Otterbox cases on my family's phones and tablets for nearly a decade and this was one of the worst yet. The case around the screen used when it's folded has an annoyingly high ridge around the edges, which makes trying to use it feel clunky and awkward. When it's opened, there's no ridge at all to protect the screen, should it fall face down. The previous cases I've bought from Otterbox, all had a more rubbery feel to them, and made the phone or tablet less likely to slide off of things. This case feels more slick and is always sliding around in the car. This is the first time I'm looking for a different brand of case for a phone. Hopefully they remedy things in the future.

Magsafe built in a a huge add on. I am disappointed in the fold protection itself, as it has no dust or debris protection like many other cases. I believe the lack of fold protection will lead to lint, dust or dirt collecting right at the phones most vulnerable point.

Turns out, I had the clear Samsung back cover ( was a freebie) still on and didn't realize it, so I sent it back. Once I realized my stupid mistake, I ordered another and it fits great. Personally I love the case as the smaller thickness of the phone and less weight makes it still smaller than the case I had on the Fold 5. I will echo some sentiment that others have; The case makes it hard to use the power button fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone ( which I dont use ) and the high ridge border on the front screen, when folded, does it make it somewhat difficult to swipe left to right or up and down. That being said, having dropped my phone several times already on the corners and flat on the back my phone remains unscathed.

This is the most important and sensitive part of the Z Fold and this otterbox model makes me feel like it should go back to the drawing board.

Hard plastic with no outter rubber layer , so little to no grip. Camera bezel offer little to no protection. Overall just terrible design and execution. I've been an otter box customer for 15 plus years and this case is just disappointing.

I ended up buying a phone protector for $38 US Dollars from Amazon that better protects my phone and the glass. I kept the Otter Box as a backup for my phone.

As of April 7, 2026, my Defender Series Pro XT case for the Galaxy Z Fold7 experienced a failure. The case fell from my desk and landed on the corner, which caused the latch mechanism that secures the case to break. Given that OtterBox products are marketed for durability and protection, I was a bit surprised that the latch failed from what I would consider a relatively minor drop. Could you please let me know: If this type of damage is covered under your warranty What steps I need to take to file a claim or request a replacement I’d appreciate your guidance on how to proceed. Thank you for your time and support.

However, the back is completely slick so my phone slides around constantly and it's extremely annoying. I will probably end up switching cases. I know they couldn't put on a skin on the whole thing because of how it unfolds, but it seems like they could have put a non slick pad on the back that wouldn't mess with the unfolding and would help it not slide around. That's my only issue with the case but unfortunately it's a big issue and it's extremely annoying.
