They have now added a tether point which is awesome but it's square which means it's hard to thread your tether through the hole. (hard to attach a wrist strap) however overall better case without this one small exception ~signed someone who drops stuff

The sides give me a good, secure grip but the case doesn't feel too bulky like some that I have had in the past. The back is clear, so you can see the lovely color of your cell phone. I dropped my phone and my screen got damaged because of the failure to properly fully protect the phone all around the edges. This case wasn’t even cheap! I’ve had better cases from Amazon.

However, this new iphone 16 Pro case is a disappointment. Typically, the phone case itself allows you to reholster the phone in either the up or down position. With access to the camera button position, you can only reholster one way. I am sure I will get used to this but you could have designed the case to work both ways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have been using Otterbox cases exclusively since the iPhone 4 and this is by far the worst Otterbox case i have ever owned. Not only is there a ridiculously oversized cutout for the camera control button on the 16 pro, but you also lose the belt clip notch on the right side of the case forcing you to put your phone in the clip a certain way which is absolutely ridiculous. The design seems lazy and rushed and i also HATE the clear back. Its too slick and gets covered in fingerprints. The defender pro xt for the iPhone 14 pro was far superior with its matte plastic back, this case is terrible. Also, the little alignment magnet for the magsafe fell off after only putting the case on my phone once to try out the case. I dont know what happened to Otterbox but i wont be buying another one until they stop putting out rushed garbage like this. Whoever thought that cutting out a quarter of the right side of the case for a TINY button was a good idea should be fired.

My last phone before the 16 was the 12, and the defender series cases for me has never been clear. So to find a defender that was a clear case for my 16 was a no brainer. The design of this case is perfect I think. I’ve dropped my phone at least 1-3 times everyday and it’s been my phones life saver. As for the reviews that address the cut out for the camera button, don’t get the iPhone 16 then. The case integrates this new button perfectly and the cut out works will with my small hands and doesn’t mess with protecting the phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One major flaw Great case with one major flaw. This case protects ALMOST all of the front of the iPhone 16 pro. It is missing a section of screen on the front of the case where the new camera control is. I have had to replace 4 screen protectors because the case does NOT protect that one area of the phones front glass, it doe protect the back glass in that spot. I am not happy about this and this flaw will force me into searching out alternatives. The case design on the back is printed on the outside of the clear plastic and has scratched off a decent chunk of the print, could have printed this on the inside of the plastic on the back to protect the rather cool design.

One star reduction this time is due to the quality of the back painting. The one I got has a beautiful back painting but can be easily chipped even with careful handling in a week of usage. It is not a big deal but still not 100% happy about it.

To my surprise, one of the three camera lenses cracked! It was such a small fall and I did not expect this to happen with an otter box case. I thought the ridges around the camera would protect it but, nope! I’ve had my phone for only two weeks and now the camera is broken. Don’t buy this case, truly. Not sure how this is an Otterbox nor how this model passed quality assurance.

Within, two weeks, my daughter’s phone had a huge chip in the screen protector in this area. Hoped the phone screen isn’t actually damaged. This design is horrible, and I have been an Otterbox only phone case purchased for over 20 years.

But I used it just one day, had it in my pocket of a work jumpsuit i've owned for years for a handful of hours during a wedding. My guess is from being inside the pocket for just one day, the outside plastic absorbed what looks like the black dye from the jumpsuit. It makes the case look nasty old and not clean. Either that or they sent me a used case? Not sure, because it came in, and I opened and put it on the morning of this job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Disappointing I wanted to love this phone case. And I was excited that they offered a case with the highest DROP+ Rating that was also pretty. I purchased an iPhone 16 Pro which has the new "Camera Control" which is not only a clickable button, but you can slide your finger on it for additional functions. For some reason, Otterbox decided that to use the Camera Control, you need full access to it from the front of your phone, so the case is "cut out" around the control - you can see it in the pictures. At first, it was just annoying that seemed to be where my thumb wanted to rest regularly - but there was no case edge there. Then, within a couple days, I cracked the glass screen protector right in the center of the "open space". I don't even know how it happened - I didn't drop my phone. But I must have bumped it on something right at that point. Otterbox cases are supposed to protect the edges, but they left this big Achilles heel. And then my thumb kept resting on the sharp edges of the cracked screen protector. Almost every Otterbox series has that stupid open space for the Camera Control that is totally unnecessary. I've already purchased a new case (different brand) - it does not expose the area above the Camera Control, and I can use the control just fine. I have such high expectations of Otterbox, an they just didn't meet them this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little different than previous versions I’ve used OtterBox Defender cases on my last two iPhones and this is the third. The case feels a little less rubbery, especially the back is more of a hard plastic. Not too sure about the camera button cutout on the side and how well it will protect if it were to fall.
