The rubber liner of the case doesn't hold its shape around the top corners of the phone after owning it for 6+ months. The buttons no longer press accurately and OtterBox has the nerve to charge shipping and handling for a replacement and then not send it.

I have dropped my phone multiple times so far and there is no damage to the phone and almost no visible damage to the case. I would buy this again without hesitation.

This one had a crack near the charging port within a day, and got a huge crack in the corner within a few months. I have NEVER had an Otterbox crack (and I'm not any harder on my phone than usual. It actually has me considering whether or not I will buy Otterbox cases in the future.

I've already dropped my phone once with the case on and the phone and case both survived with no damage to either. My only complaint is there are very few color options for Samsung phones! I had two color choices blue or black. I wasn't very excited about the blue, but I will say it is a much prettier blue than the pictures show online. Overall I am very happy with my purchase! This case for the s21 is inferior in many ways and clearly stamped made in China. And yet otterbox charges the same for the case? Not worth the money now compared to cheap knockoff cases on amazon

I work a lot on roofs and I'm on ladders, in a ditch digging in cable etc during all kinds of weather. The Defender not only protects but it fits in my pocket with out the worry that it will fall out. Also the feel in my hand is secure and gives my great feed back as I operrate the phone with one hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aesthetically nice but doesn't hold up I like how this case looks (not too bulky), but I've only had it for 6 months and it hasn't held up. The hard plastic around the charging port broke within a month. The soft plastic inner part has deformed and doesn't fit my phone anymore, especially in the corners where it now leaves gaps. Warranty replacement is supposedly free but actually costs ~$10 for shipping/handling. Not worth it if I'm going to have to replace it again every 6 months. I'd rather get a different case that's more likely to last.

Each time that I get a new phone, I know to turn to Otterbox. This time I changed from black to blue for my case. And, i love the shade of blue. Perfect. Lastly, I misordered the first time for my latest phone forgetting that my phone was a Plus. Joseph in the call center was fantastic in coordinating the return of the first case and sending the one I should have ordered- he was personable and professional. Otterbox...every time!

Also, it is cheap/not professional design of the edges around cameras which have 45deg and gloss surface , that makes totally impossible to snap images/video toward the sun. Don't recommend to bay this product.

The problems other people are mentioning have been true with both of the cases I've gotten: the sort plastic around the front of the phone warps badly after a few months, leaving big gaps around the edge of the phone. With this second case I've also had the problem of the thin plastic piece near the charging port cracking. This is my first OB case and will likely be my last, not worth the money and the plastic waste.

I bought my Galaxy S21 before it was released and, as such, I could not find an Otter Box case for it. Needing protection, I opted for a different manufacturer and the only one I could find that looked something like the Commuter case. It was a cheap imitation of the original and was basically garbage. After about three weeks of this no-name case, I threw it away and bought the Otter Box and love it! The fit is great and, like every other one I have owned, it is minimal in size but powerful in protection. I wish I had found this when I had originally looked for a case!!!

The Commuter in Bespoke Blue, a very tasteful color unlike the one I had for my Pixel XL, grey & bright blue, that or black. I don't like black for a case as it can blend into things, ditto for white, therefore making it harder to find and/or remember to take it with me. This blue is light enough (although not really light to see against a black/dark background such as a desktop. The case adds very little in dimensions to my new Galaxy S21 5G. Seems to be more than rugged enough and has well located grip points/texture for me. One minor complaint is that the only OtterBox screen cover offered is very expensive. I got a much less expensive one (1/3 $) that fits perfectly and is undetectable. Overall a great case though.

It's very generic, doesn't really offer much in protection and it slips out of my hand due to the smooth plastic. I could've gotten an $10 one off Amazon that was better protection. If I didn't need a phone case at the time, I would have sent it back. Not worth $40.

It's a nice case it's just covered by a lot of smooth plastic so there's not that much grip for your hands! That being said hold onto your phone. Wish there was more rubber around the case.

If you buy a phone that is a few hundred dollars then you should not go cheap with the case. I waited until the case was on sale so I could afford. It's great for a technician in the field. My iPhone XR has had countless tumbles and it has protected the phone. I've always been partial to UAG cases. They're really attractive and I never had phone damage while using one. The problem with them, they frequently slip out of my hand because they lack the grip the Otterbox has. I have a Galaxy S21 and it's a snug fit, the audio isn't compromised, the charging port is easy to access. It's not an attractive case but 100% does it's job.

Every time I picked my phone up I was afraid I'd drop it. I think it would protect the phone if it got dropped, but I want some grip to my phone. I want to set it on my couch arm/pillow/etc and not see it slide off.

I bought this a month ago after buying three other cases and one broke, one fit poorly and one got dirty within a few days and wouldn't wipe clean so..I broke down and bought this case. Best buy ever and wish I started with this case to begin with. Fits perfect on my phone, in my cup holder in my car and material is smooth so slides in and out of back pocket of my jeans great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another repeat customer Good case but compared to my prior Commuter case for the Galaxy S10 the materials feel cheaper but perhaps sleeker? The rubber cover for the charging port is a bit thin and I wonder how long it will hold up with repeated use. It is challenging at times to pull the cover out as it requires the use of your fingernail. This case will still interfere with a screen protector made by OtterBox. Others offered on the market are cheaper and won't lift with use. The rubber edges of this case will push up the edges of the OtterBox screen protector eventually lifting them up and rendering the expensive screen protector useless and discarded. Regarding shipping, I won't be purchasing from Otterbox in the future if I decide to continue using their products. With free shipping OtterBox ships using UPS Mail Innovations which is a very cheap shipping service. I had ordered my case a week before I was to receive my Galaxy S21 5G and it took a week and a half to finally receive my case delivered by the USPS. UPS Mail innovations is a joint partnership to deliver parcels with the USPS being the end carrier. The package was a paper envelope glued together. For the price of the case I would expect OtterBox to choose a faster shipping speed, even if they are offering free shipping. But it seems OtterBox is becoming more concerned with its bottom line with the declining quality of their cases and the cheap and slow shipping of their products when they are paying for it. Overall its a nice case, but my advice to OtterBox would be to look into the ruggedness of the case. Will it hold up with daily use? The plastic seems a bit thinner than my previous case for the S10 and I question if the rubber cover for the charging port will eventually break in the future needing replacement. If I had ordered the product through Amazon I would had received the product in about two days being a Prime member.

The charging port cover is great at keeping the port clean and it doesn't get stuck shut or rip off like other cases I've used. Additionally, Otterbox's warranty is unmatched. My case cracked all 10 months in, and they replaced it for free. Great phone case, amazing customer support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Happy with outter boxs I called in and talk to a representative told he what I was looking for he told me the defender had what I wanted i looked said yes and y'all this'll sent half of what I wanted. NOT HAPPY

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Case doesn't keep shape I've had the same problem as others. The soft part of the case does not hold its shape. There's big gaps around the top of the case. I have not been talking my phone out of the case at all. I had the same problem with my s9+ case years ago so I was hoping it was a fluke, but I guess not. I have only purchased otterbox for the protection, but not sure how protected the phone is with the gaps? I'm really disappointed with the case.
