Easy Commuter
Love this case. Had one on my 13 pro and just upgraded to the 17 pro. The old case barely looks used. As a carpenter it’s in and out of my pocket during work and this case was awesome. I like the compact and some smooth texture. Easy in and out of pocket or case. Enough protection to never have a problem. I do add cheap screen protector. Love it. Especially when it’s on sale.

Don’t buy the Commuter case for the IPhone 17 Pro
This case does not work with the 17 Pro. The camera button sticks and video will automatically come up. Then it is import stop the video unless you take the case off. Apparently there is a new case to fix this problem. I did not want to wait and purchased an Apple case which works great. Still awaiting my refund. I am surprised that Otterbox would release a case that had not been tested and was flawed. The wait time to speak to someone at Otterbox is extremely long and if I left a message; I did not receive a call back. What happened to the great service that Otterbox used to have?

Good case, I wish there was more of the outer plastic on the sides near the top. (Above action and lock buttons). There is a lot of silicone that is not braced by the plastic, and tends to be easily pulled out from the phone.

Otterbox Commuter Case = Excellent Protection
Four years ago I bought the Otterbox Commuter case for my iPhone 13 Pro. It did an excellent job of protecting the phone which still looks like new after many drops over the years. When I upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro I bought the same case. I also purchased the Apple TechWoven case and compared the two. The Otterbox seemed to offer stronger protection and it felt better in my hand. I returned the Apple case. I noticed that the Otterbox has a higher ridge on the back around the camera cut out which is a good idea. It protects the lenses and flashlight from damage should the phone fall back side down. I especially appreciate the flexible silicone charging port cover that keeps dirt and dust from getting into the port. The Otterbox Commuter case has a “Lifetime” guarantee. They will replace a case that breaks or cracks. All you pay is a service fee to cover shipping and handling.

The perfect case
I love this case! I actually had this same exact case with my iPhone 13 pro and when i got the new 17 pro i know that i didn't even have to worry about finding the perfect ca se because i came straight to the website and ordered the same thing but in the newer model. This one is better than my old one because it has the MagSafe magnet so that is super convenient. Plus it really does protect the phone. My old phone still looks like it is in perfect condition and if i sell it the only thing wrong with it is the battery but in terms of a physical standpoint, it still looks perfect after 4 years of drops and heavy usage. In my opinion, the best case out there!

Decent Case
Case appears to be decent. Rubber shell feel cheaper than previous models. Adds a lot of bulk to the phone but that is expected. The only disappointing aspect is the MagSafe strength is poor compared to other cases.

Apple 17 Pro Commuter Case
I previously used a Commuter case on my 14 Pro and it did a great job in protecting the phone compared to the Apple case that allowed the screen to chip at a corner. I purchased a blue Commuter case and was pleasantly surprised that it covered the entire perimeter of the 17 Pro. I saw reviews of Commuter cases for previous phones in which the reviewers were complaining about a section being exposed. The 17 Pro has a redesigned camera plateau or whatever they call it. The Commuter case has a large open space in the middle of the plateau. I would loved to have seen the case have a slim bar of material between the three lens and the flash/sensor on the right side for extra protection. Online reports state that the paint is easily scratched on these aluminum frames. I have no scratches yet, but I have a holster on my belt to store my phone instead of my pockets.

Impossible to hold
I’ve used otter box with every new iPhone I’ve had. I have always loved them. Well I got the new iPhone 17 pro and of course I’m ordering an otter box. They did not yet have the defender series available for purchase. The only one they had was this commuter series. I took a chance on it since I needed a new case before using my new phone. This case seems to be very thin plastic and only has small amounts of rubber on the corners. The top, bottom, and back are all thin plastic. It is so slippery, it’s almost impossible to hold on to it. I’ve dropped it so many times already. Also you can’t prop it up against something on a table because it just slides out from the bottom. I really wish I would have held out for the defender case that I have always loved. I just can’t see how anyone could actually use this case practically. I had to add a strap to the back of it just to keep a good hold of it while using.

Tried and true, second to none
I’ve ran commuter cases for several years on several iPhones and find them to be the perfect balance of protection and bulk. This case is no exception. My only minor critique is I would have preferred to have a more covered rear bump/camera area than it being completely exposed. However, there is a raised lip on both the rear cameras and front glass that provides protection for most situations. Also the MagSafe built in magnets work great and hold strong. I really appreciate not having to use external magnets for a phone mount anymore. Otterbox continues to improve, make solid products with a great warranty, and do so for a fair value. Overall if you want solid protection without substantial bulk buy a commuter and a screen protector and your phone will withstand everyday life just fine.

Feels solid, minor flaws
Case shipped super fast and showed up quick. It looked exactly as pictured and feels sturdy. After using it for a few days, I was disappointed to see the volume button already had a scratch on the rubber. There’s also a lot of small nooks around the camera button on the side of the case that seems to just trap gunk. I can’t tell if the button on the case is slightly set wrong, but there’s a gap on the side and around where the button sits that I can never keep clean.

Great case for those on the go
I have been using the Commuter Series cases for years and this version of the iPhone 17 Pro appears to be great case. The fit is perfect, allowing access to all the ports and buttons. The raised edges on the front and around the camera plateau on the back provide great protection for the screen and camera lenses when the phone is placed either up or down on a surface. The material of the case provides a solid grip but still allows the phone to by easily inserted/removed from a pocket. MagSafe charging also works without any issues.

Great overall, but sections could be improved.
Attractive colors. Excellent protection. The rubbery soft plastic portions provide a positive grip, which is reassuring. But the hard plastic sections on the sides are a bit slick and don't provide such a good grip. I'd rather it was soft, grippy material everywhere. That would especially help when holding horizontally to take landscape pictures.
