I’ve had my new phone & case for less than 1month. I believe the iPhone 16 is a flawed design! Otter box case does not cover/protect the entire phone due to the new button on bottom right causing screen protector to crack/damage easily & frequently

Design fail
I’m sure I’m far from the first to point out that the design for the iPhone 16s is arguably the worst that Otterbox has put out since making a name for themselves in this market. I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to leave such a large part of the screen unprotected for the sake of one button, but it seems absurd. 3 stars instead of zero because the case is fine in all other respects. But that one flaw means you’ve got a fair chance of losing your phone to damage that could’ve been easily avoided, as we’ve seen in the designs from other companies that made accommodations for the button without sacrificing protection. Do better, Otterbox. I only ordered it because it was free and I was in a pinch. I won’t be using it.

My iPhone 16 Pro Commuter Series Case for MagSafe is the best case cover I've had! Nice color and it feels good in your hand. It feels clean (as opposed to kind of rubbery). Would highly recommend.

Think before you buy it
The material of the inner soft part of this Commuter Series Case is made of sticky substance that attracts all dust and lint balls from your pocket when you carry it for a couple of days. After that your iPhone will look cheap grey and dirty

Fits the 16 oro great. Smooth, slightly slippery case of hard plastic with some grip material present. I can’t believe how heavy it is, though!

Missing piece
I have always used Otter Box for my phones for their durability. I just bought this for my new Iphone 16 pro and the case itself is durable, but I have concern with the cutout for the new picture button as it leave a section of the phone unprotected. I will keep this case because I do go without anything to protect my phone but will be replacing with a case that covers all sides completely.

After having the commuter case for my old IPhone 13, I had the same expectations for the IPhone 16 version. Only think I don’t like, is there were extra pads that were on the lower back body of the case that allowed for a more cushioned resting position that also helped protect the cameras. This one doesn’t have those additional pads and it doesn’t seem to have the same cushion when placed on a hard surface. Otherwise… solid case and worth the money.

I’ve had the case for two weeks and it is already showing signs of wear on the rubber all around the phone. This is not what I would expect from a case that was $60. The hard piece looks and works great, but I’m afraid OtterBox dropped the ball on the soft shell material.

Cheap and not what they used to be for IPhone
I always buy otterbox, however this last commuter case for iPhone 16 pro I bought and returned.
They have cheapened out with the lack of rubber grips on back and the camera lense area is cheap. The worst part is the camera button cut out !!! I mean come on you sell a case that is supposed to be the best and leave a huge area of screen and edge exposed. Please redesign your cases for IPhone 16 pro

Slides out of the case
I am not a fan of this case, when you pull the phone out of your pocket it slides out of the case entirely. The reason I purchased an otter box is due to the durability of it, but if my phone slides out every time I take it from my pocket it's not serving the function. Will likely be returning.

These are great. I have been using this model for years with different phones. I do seem to have to replace ti every year because the plastic part breaks. That's a drag and I do wish I could just buy a new plastic shell. But they offer good protection without being too bulky.

These cases will save you a lot of money. I never get the insurance that they overcharge you for at Apple. These cases are good for at least one year guaranteed minimum investment.

Worst design ever for new side camera button
I had been a loyal otterbox user for many iPhones but now they handled the new camera side button was awful leaving it cut out and the phone edge completely exposed and uncomfortable to hold. I returned it and discovered velvet caviar, great protection, better design regarding the button and FUN patterns.

Magnet is not very strong. Otherwise a good case. I am a little worried about the side of the screeen where the camera control button is. I think they should have put something around that function button.

It’s a good case, but I can tell a drop in quality from the previous OtterBox cases I have had on other phones. The silicone on back was changed to plastic, so it’s harder to hold the phone as well.

Design flaws
This seems like it will keep my phone safe but it is very slippery! It’s hard to hold and the edge around the camera makes the phone slide on a table as well. I will not get this case again unfortunately

Good Commuter version
Have been using the Commuter series for a while, best case for not being too bulky but still giving drop protection. The side cut out for the camera button took some getting used to, but after a week or so feels normal. Same good quality as usual.

The Perfect Case!
The case fits great! Just holding my phone with this case on makes it feel safe. It gives me peace of mind knowing that if and when I ever drop my phone, it will be okay. I love the cutout on the side for the new camera button. This is a must have.

Exactly what I needed
I love that this case is two parts. It has worked really well including on a (second day) drop from about 5ft on concrete. I do worry that the buttons will be a bit more susceptible to wear and tear than the hard plastic but since that’s just a worry, 5 stars it is.

Too different from prior Commuter Series
Having used Commuter series for the past several phones, I was hugely disappointed in this 2024 iPhone Pro model. For this model, the grippy anti-skid rubber pads on the back were omitted, leaving just an indented hard plastic that is not grippy and allows the phone to slide too easily on table. The protective rims around display and camera that were substantial on prior models are now inadequate, even less than on their Symmetry series, as might be notable from its overall thickness being less than their other models. This year's model is too slippery in both hand and on table surfaces but worst of all appears to provide less protection to display and camera when in contact with uneven surfaces since its protective rim is barely above the glass, if at all. I have now switched to the Symmetry Softtouch Series to provide grippy, non-skid case instead of Commuter. Even the Lumen provides better grip and rim height. I do not trust this Commuter model to protect my phone. Otterbox return system is unsatisfactory. Takes a day or so to get an RMA, then several days thru slow return shipping which is deducted from any refund, then reportedly 15 business days (3 weeks) after they receive it to get a refund. At the time of this review, I am within the 3 week wait period with no communication that they even received the return other than carrier tracking indicated the return center received it days ago. I would mark 0 star if I could due to this model completely missing the mark on expectations based on prior year models.

Phone screen unprotected around new camera button
The case fits wells and feels nice, buttons have a great feel. However, huge design flaw…I really do not like the design with the new iPhone 16 camera button. The screen is completely unprotected near the camera button. Upon the very first drop on a semi-soft surface, the screen protector busted on the edge where there is no protection from the case around the camera button. I will now have to replace my screen protector, and I foresee it happening many times in the future. This is unfortunate, since everything else about this case is great.

The foxberry color was misleading
I received the foxberry commuter case expecting it to be a lot more red than it was. Instead it is a sort of plum purple/dark pink color. The red-pink color it shows online is what I wanted but didn't receive it and although I am not unhappy with this color it's disappointing. Don't expect your foxberry case to be reddish I guess

Good Case as usual...BUT, they changed something for the iPhone 16 that I had with my last case. My last case had raised rubber pieces on the back...so, when you laid your phone down, it wouldn't slide around...it would also cushion it when putting it down.
New case...not so much. They left the indentions where the rubber used to be, but now it's hard plastic. No cushion...and slides everywhere when laying down on a surface.
But...overall, case is good.

This New OtterBox Case Has Some Serious Issues
I’ve have always used OtterBox Commuter cases for all my iPhones and been extremely happy with them their performance. However this new commuter case for iPhone 16 Pro I just purchased is not deep enough which causes the top edge of the case to be almost level with the surface of the screen. I don’t feel this smaller lip will protect much (if at all) if phone is dropped. I also don’t like that the bottom right side where the new camera button is located, is left as a totally unprotected area of the phone’s frame.

Item is best case on the market. But otterbox sent the wrong color and their customer service is utterly impossible to deal with, especially after hours or on weekends. Get the case. Buy it elsewhere.

Substantial and Awesome Color
Love my new Otterbox case! It feels very substantial without being awkwardly big. The periwinkle blue color is great too and I haven't misplaced my phone since I've had this case. It's much easier to find!
