Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great PC but poor setup instructions My new Omen 45L is a great PC, but my biggest complaint is the lack of instructions for the Omen Gaming Hub. I have fiddled with it, but I still do not know what I am doing. The limited help assumes I know what different bits are - and I have no clue. My second complaint is that some software will not run on it and it is not a Windows 11 problem. I have an older version of Adobe Photoshop Elements running on another HP PC under Windows 11 and it works fine. I do not want to buy a newer version with only 3 years licensing - that is objectionable. My last complaint relates more to Windows 11 and that is the transfer/synching of configuration from another PC is pathetic. I wish I had just setup a clean Windows and configured it myself. Since HP no longer provide an optimization option for over-clocking within the gaming hub, they should provide information about locating and using Intel Extreme Clocking (including disclaimers if necessary). I assume you want people to get the best out of the PC and this information is necessary for that purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Machine With A Few Minor Quirks This PC is a well constructed device, but there are a couple of minor design quirks. First, the Nvidia graphics card does block some items on the mobo, such as the battery and the second m.2 drive, however, due to the thoughtful case design, accessing the insides of the PC was very easy. I also am not impressed with the cable management -- for this price point I would expect a clean and precise design. It wasn't terrible, but I have seen better. Still, regardless of what some infuencers on social media may say, the components (case, memory, gpu, and mobo) are top notch. The glass that is used in the case is thick and luxurious. Removing it as well as the opposite side where the majority of the cabling is kept is easy with a one button release. I did find that I had to add a smidge of silicon grease at the locations where the pins for each panel secure the panel one. After doing so, the panels are installed and remove smooth as silk.. One other beef I have is with the documentation -- I think HP could have provided a bit more information. Despite what a popular social media influencer says, the cryo chamber design works really well -- CPU and GPU temps are excellent. I also had no beef with the bios options -- it is not the most comprehensive, but it does provide more than the basics. Performace of the system is what you would expect with an Ultra 9 Intel processor -- not the best, but certainly meets my needs. I haven't used the AI tools extensively, but it is nice that they are available for this model PC. Finally, regarding aesthetics, this PC as a whole is a beauty -- I love the form factor and the lighting is nicely done -- I like the Omen symbol at the top, so I leave that on all the time even when the PC is shut down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save your money build your own This thing is trash and a waste of 4k+. The components are just awful. The proprietary motherboard sucks. You can't get a schematic for the motherboard, they say it can do gen5 and gen4 ssd's but dont tell you which slots are which and they are not marked on the board. Not to mention you have to remove the bracketed 5090 which is just ridiculous its like 10+ screws. The SSD that comes on this flagship product sucks its a 2tb wd blue...The Intel untra 285k seems just as bad as the 13900 (same cores and threads as 13/14 gen). What i mean by that is it runs hot for what seems like no reason. The only nice thing on here is the 5090 and its just that a base nvidia rtx 5090. No overclocking (of course you can do yourself) or premium parts added like aftermarket brands. Its just underwhelming. Pair it with the OMEN app (which is also one of the worst apps I've ever used) nothing feels easy on this machine. There is next to nothing special even the ram which is 5600 ddr5 is set to 4800 from them you have to overclock it if you want it to run 5600. The time I had an issue was a Saturday so of course no hp help on sat/sun just a bad experience all around. Lastly, the box is shipped via FedEx and just know that thing is going threw war before it gets to you doorstep. If you know nothing about computers and wanna play stright out the box and never upgrade anything, then this is the pc for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing product, even more disappointing support There are much better deals available. Don't buy this pc. I did, and the graphics card failed 3 months after I got it. I am now out of the return period, so support has told me my only option is to carry this PC (which, by the way, is 50 lbs) to the nearest fedex office and wait multiple weeks for HP to repair it. This could easily be resolved with a replacement part, requiring me to carry less than 5 lbs and wait 0 days without a PC. When I pointed this out to support, they simply ended the chat on me without reply. Incredibly unprofessional. The motherboard is also a weird custom one that doesn't seem to have a video output other than the one on the graphics card. Also, for some reason there are like 12 screws you need to undo to get the graphics card out in the first place, which is ridiculous. This is all to say - maybe you'll get lucky, and not have to interact with these problems. But why take the risk? You should buy from a company that treats its customers well when things go poorly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm pleased! The system is definitely a big upgrade from my old PC. It came very quick too. It runs quietly and for it to boot up is near instantaneous.The case is beautiful and the LED lights are very easy and simple to customize. Performance wise I haven't put it through a full test yet, but running Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered on full graphics settings has not presented any issues. The machine runs it without breaking a sweat. I gave it 4 stars because there are a couple of annoying quirks that will need to be fixed. The first is that it "fades" your audio in when you've paused a video, meaning you miss about 3 seconds of dialog every time you restart a video.The second is that while streaming online video the sound tends to lag sporadically. Though I've yet to track down the cause. Over all though I'm fairly pleased with it.

Downfall is HP locked out bios to the point that overclocking is useless. Unless you plan on never upgrading components in the future, it will be fine. I would have given it a better score, but you know. See above.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, Flashy & Upgradable This rig is so fast loading in. It is aesthetically pleasing and is upgradable. These are the reasons I wanted this computer. The 4090 is amazing in and of itself. Also can attach all of the latest writing tablets and other peripherals seamlessly so no worries there. Games run really smooth and I'm noticing little things I never noticed before, the vid card helps display so much detail. Love it!

I enjoy using flight and railroad simulations that are "very" heavy in graphics, and they don't slow this PC down at all! There is no stuttering or pausing. I highly recommend The HP Omen 45L for anyone who uses programs that use detailed graphics!

It would be nice, however, if the directions were clearer about how you open both sides of the case and where the locking screw is how to access it and the type of tool that is required. It would also be helpful if there were clearer instructions on how to upgrade the memory too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Windows 11 is the only negative I got, seriously! (*)The Omen 45L is truly mind-blowing! Capable of 5.3Ghz all P-core 5.4 on two P-cores after 2 minutes tuning in XTU. The updated BIOS also has multiple XMP Memory profiles allowing custom profiles to optimize ram to get the full speed now! TY, TY, TY! This 45L is such a beast of a machine in (*This) current config that I paid retail at the product launch and still feel like I got a good deal! I also own an Omen 15 {(10750h)(RTX 3070)(32GB 3200mhz-CL-16 Ram)(1080p-300hz-IPS-3ms-response-screen)} which I bought from Best Buy and I was able to get an unbelievable deal again. I have only experienced one near-fatal flaw that both PCs suffer from; the 45L more even more so... and that's Windows 11! I was able to uninstall Windows 11 and get better performance and support using Windows 10 on the Omen laptop and with two 1Tb 980 Pro's filling both NVMe slots and 32Gb of CL-16 3200Mhz SODIMMs making it more than capable of AAA gaming high to ultra settings at {4k(100hz-120hz)} {2k(144hz-165hz)} and any title {1080(200hz)+} using an {LG-nano-IPS-WQHD-Gaming-Monitor}. Honestly, the omen laptop is not far behind the 45L in performance which I was definitely not aware was possible in such a lightweight beautiful 15.7inch package. Exceptional quality, reasonable value in volatile TECH marketplace, with reliable, and responsive support within reach without hassle make these purchases a guilt free splurge that everyone's happy with. Thanks' again HP for making these deals happen and keep up the good work guys! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ran well for a short two months... Bought this PC back in December and it ran perfectly up until recently. PC is only used for casual gaming and nothing else (Valorant, Tarkov, and CS). Randomly monitors began entering standby mode in the middle of gaming without being able to turn them back on causing the need for a shut down and re-boot. Now to the point where I can no longer play any game without a shutdown. Support has been great, but none of the recommendations has seemed to help the issue. Having to send it back in already to have the hardware looked at. Surprising to see this from such a reputable brand and seemingly new computer.... Hoping repairs go well otherwise may turn to a different competitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is solid pre built gaming PC. Last month, I was looking into purchasing a PC. I was torn between Dell's Alienware and HP's Omen gaming PC. At first I was looking into purchasing the Omen 30L series, but after doing some research the 30L series doesn't have great pre installed fans like the 45L series does. So I opted for the 45L series and man was it worth every dollar. First of all, the design on this PC is truly incredible. HP's design engineers did an excellent job designing it. To access the internal parts on both sides of the PC. With the PC facing you, to access the GPU, CPU, and Ram al you have to do is hit the internal access button. To access the storage devices and the LED board all you have to do is hit the internal access button on the right side. The Cyro Chamber on top is a great innovation as it pushes hot air out from the top vents. Something the 30L series does not have. The lighting on the fans, CPU, RAM, and LED lights are colorful and you can change them to different color settings in the OMEN gaming hub. Now lets talk about the speed. This computer is the fastest I've ever own. The intel i7 CPU, which gives you turbo boost speeds up to 5.0 GHz is a PC owner's dream. The Ram is pretty fast enough for you to game with. I was going to opt for 32 had HP delivered by custom built PC but they said that it would be pushed back a month, so I ordered this pre built PC. Gaming on this PC is solid as well. I have gotten up to 80, 90, 119, FPS playing on this PC. This is with G-Sync turned on. When I have VRR enabled I get about 85 FPS gaming. It just really depends on the game. But the Nvidia GEForce RTX 3080 is powerful and GPU that gets you those high frame rates when you are gaming. At 4K (3840x2160) resolution. You would need a HDMI 2.1 cable that is certified, and can gets you 48gbps so you can get those high frame rates If you worry about not having enough storage. You can easily expand up to 4 total drives in this PC. There are 2 bays inside for SSD drives and 2 bays for HDD drives. However, there is only 1 SATA data cable for 1 drive. You'll have to buy more SATA data cables if you want to install more Solid State Drives or Hard Disk Drives. There are minimal cons to this PC. One of the cons is, the noise coming from the fans in the Cyro Chamber. They're not loud, but they do make an oooooooo sound. Another con is, a PC this expensive should have DDR 5 Ram which is faster than DDR 4. One more con is, it doesn't come with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. So should you buy this gaming PC? If you are a PC gamer yes!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing system with one fatal flaw This is an amazing pc, and probably the best OEM prebuilt out there atm. Unfortunately mine shipped with a bad issue. The wifi would randomly dip in quality, which never happened on my old pc (HP Omen 30L). I would consistently get 600mpbs download and 400 mbps upload on my old pc, but on this i would get anywhere from 400 download/200 upload to 10 download 4 upload. I dont know if this is a common issue, but when i contacted support they said it was a hardware issue. So overall I wouldn’t risk it and would just build one yourself or get something else.

This is the first desktop that I bought in last 20 years and I feel that connection can be better placed than all of them being in the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High temp issues continue on with the 45L! Overall fairly decent, but the graphics card (3080 LHR) runs too hot. A graphics card that expensive should not have memory junction temps reaching 110 degrees Celsius! Have to run all the case fans at full speed trying to keep the graphics card temperature a few degrees lower. The graphics card fans run at 100% when in use. All of this creates a very noisy environment to say the least. Maybe the Cryo Chamber should have been designed for the graphics card instead!

It easily handles running Civ IV, Skyrim, or Elder Scrolls Online, with resources to spare. As of yet I have not gotten above 70% memory usage or 50% graphics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Omen Number 2 This is my 6th HP built computer. While I have only had it about a week or so at this point it has worked as expected for the most part. I researched what I wanted for several months in an effort to purchase at the best possible time and HP's black Friday sale was finally it. It was delivered actually one day faster than the estimate HP gave at the time of purchase. Two minor issues so far. One is that something, possibly the power supply, seems to have a 60 cycle hum intermittently but I have not yet taken the time to investigate the source. The other issue seems to be the inability to get an additional 16 gigs of RAM. The Omen computer this one replaces has 32 gigs and that is what I wanted for this one but it was a non-customizable model that had everything else I wanted. All in all I am happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big, loud disappointment This thing just loves to make noise. The graphics card fans ramp up and down audibly just during basic web browsing. The cryo chamber makes noise constantly, even when the machine is asleep. I have to completely power down it down at night or I can hear it from my bedroom, which is down a hallway and ~30 feet away. It packs plenty of power, but the noise makes it such a nuisance that I'll probably be looking for a replacement soon, which sucks considering the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A complete disappointment Received my Omen as agreed and it was packaged well. The FedX man left it by the garage door and did not ring or knock on the door. I got the computer inside and in my office. When I got the system connected to my network and hit the button expecting everything to come to life. Unfortunately, there was nothing! Over the next week I replaced every cable in the system. Thinking that perhaps my new gaming monitor my have taken a dump, I set up another computer and found that there was nothing wrong with the cables or the monitor. After spending several hours on the phone with Tech Support it was determined that the video card was probably bad. They would not sent me a new card or dispatch a repairman to my site. My only recourse was to box up the computer and send it back for an exchange. Now I must wait another week to get another system. Hopefully this system will not experience the same problem.

This thing is absolutely mind blowing right out of the box. I also have an Xbox x/s, PS5, and my PC blows them both out of the water in both graphics and performance. I have been playing warzone, and I cannot see a single pixel. Super quiet, beautiful machine. It will take me a while to learn about what I actually have, but worth every penny!

Microsoft Windows 11 however is terrible so I have software crashes on the regular and funky issues with it coming out of sleep mode every 15 minutes or so for no reason other than to run updates which is annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Preferences are a thing The case is larger then I was expecting and overall it is solid and looks ok. When I ordered it, I wanted a 1gb SSD for a D drive which wasn't an option on the menu. I ordered a WD 1tb M.2 and after it arrived noticed that it requires a heatsink on the SSD. Easy enough. Windows 11 seems to have an issue with the audio. I plugged into the jack my table speakers and its very quite. My monitor has speakers built in and tried those, very quite and if you play video. Took a while to figure out how to get the sound to work better, but still some issues. Sometimes there is crackling/pop when you run a video or some sound effects in games just don't sound right. Also, when you start a video, the sound ramps up the first second instead of starting crisp. The sound has issues, not sure if its windows or the Nvidia sound drivers, windows says things are fine. They are not. I noticed it doesn't really like to go to sleep and when it does it continues to "glow", you might not want this if its in your bedroom as the lights would drive me crazy.

How to put your computer with its Components. And was a fair price. $$$. The second computer came with a poster showing you how to put it together. The price once again was o k a fair price. $$$$. The third computer came with nothing. And the price was high. These computer were top on the line at the time of purchase. If there's a next time, I'll be looking somewhere else .

The case’s cooling system is very efficient at keeping your cpu and other hardware cool. Lag is a thing of the past, and you can easily run your favorite high performance game and multiple other less demanding programs simultaneously. Great investment to keep me going in computing and gaming for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a bit disappointed The hardware seems to be fine but the version of windows that was installed on this was a mess. We had to actually remove duplicate files that were causing Microsoft Store to not download and other apps to crash. We shouldn't have to clean this stuff up when I just spent over $3000 on it. Disappointing to say the least. I may have to buy a custom PC next time to avoid all of this.

Unit came well packaged. Shipping notification where from HP and FedEx. HP did fine. FedEx initially indicated was going to delivery early but then stalled for a week and delivered on last day. Unit had cpu fan error on start up. Called HP support (middle east) and they directed me to return. What a hassle that would be. Diagnosed to a fan cable came off or was never plugged in. Leaning towards fan never plugged in since plug was not near connector, which means unit was not tested. The PC is OK, received what I expected in quality of components especially MB. Would be tough to build for price I paid, especially for the vid card and shipping to Alaska. Still bench testing. GPU seems fine. CPU may be throttled. Full size case much easier to work on and upgrade than my previous Cosair Pro i160. Ovearll happy so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money well spent Excellent computer, well worth the money. Depending on the configuration and active promotions, about the same cost as DIY. Upgraded from a 1060 to a 4070 and the difference is massive - what I imagine going from a Camry to a Corvette is like in terms of speed. Case is beautiful; good build quality. This will crush just about anything and everything at 1440p, let alone 1080p, and no doubt that higher configs can take on 4k. If you've seen popular videos about this computer, you should know that some of the complaints about this system (i.e., XMP-related comments, Intel integrated graphics, overclocking) have been fixed with BIOS updates or other general software updates. Some of the HP packaged software is genuinely helpful (OMEN Gaming Hub). Some not so much (McAfee, but if you like it, you've got a month free of it).

Unfortunately the sales representative didn't fully understand my needs as I explained them to him. I then phoned HP a few days after receiving the first computer and spoke with a different sales rep who totally understood my needs and helped me order a different one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My New HP Omen Desktop This Omen Desktop is great. Very fast. Unfortunately, it has a huge problem with the sound. When I plug my speakers in, there is a huge amount of electronic noise. You can hear the disk spinning up and down and just a lot of electronic hash. Very loud. I have a USB DAC that I used on an older computer. When I installed that and plugged the speakers into it, the electronic noise disappeared. Seems a shame that this is the second HP computer that has horrible sound. Other than that, it is great. Fast, huge memory, fast graphics card, lots of storage. It's audio just is trash unless you spend $20 for a USB DAC.

I worked at HP back in the early 2000's, and I was familiar with the line tests etc. As soon as I got it, I upgraded the memory to the maximum possible, and started looking into adding an extra drive for longterm storage. The lights are probably a draw to some people, but I really am unmoved. It's quiet, and definitely runs some games I wanted to play. My machine was 15 years old but still played BG3 and other games. I'd built it from scratch. This was the first real OEM box purchase I've ever made. I'm a student at GATech and a teacher now, the discount and the black friday free shipping, with headphone gift were very nice. An xmas gift of a gaming mouse and hyperX keyboard have made my office change tone a bit. kindof distracting...ngl :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a Time Machine I was not sure what to expect from a gaming computer for processing Astrophotos and my initial testing has shown that this Omen with the 4070 GPU and the Intel 13900k can power through the toughest work loads it has saved me hours of time processing really large file loads...what used to take an hour with my Zbook now takes minutes...I love it...Oh and it is uber fast with gaming as well no lag and the graphics look amazing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Pre-Built with a Crappy Mobo Overall very satisfied with everything on this pre-built excluding the motherboard. I feel like this is where the costs were cut and it shows. There is a lack of slots for expansions, the BIOS is very bare-bones, and the actual parts of the motherboard are so cheap that the clip that holds the graphics card in place snapped immediately when trying to properly remove it to access the SSD M2 slots. If it wasn't for the included graphics card "armor" I would have been furious. Excluding that, initial impressions are very good. The case feels particularly "quality" and overall looks incredible. Getting this package on Labor Day sale really felt like a great deal given the components inside. I have custom built almost every rig that I have owned, and this is the first time I have chosen a pre-built and am feeling good about it. Here's hoping I don't regret these words in 6-12 months.

Complete waste of money the thing runs slower than a cardboard box. Unless your plan is to purchase a computer capable of running Microsoft word I highly recommend a product with some sustainability.

Other than that, was very satisfied with the product until the problem started to occur. Customer Service was great and very helpful in resolving the issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst I mean worst customer service Got my new computer kept turning off called customer service literally 40 times overseas India can't understand anything after 20 days of trying to fix it they said they would send me a return box and an email to return it never came 4 days later I called again they said the return period had expired and they would repair it literally 20 more phone calls and $70 for a membership to talk to people who could help me finally got the box I carried it down 50 lb by the way to a FedEx just the very next day for it to be sitting in my driveway because they sent it to the wrong address send it down again finally comes back they had to replace like three things including the graphics card it's a great computer now if it works perfect great if you have to deal with your customer service good luck I've never been treated worse by any company ever and this was a very expensive computer purchase I literally hate you the Packard now

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great computer overall! Truly loving it! Honestly, I only use it for gaming and some aspects of work. I can use it for some heavier color grading and video editing on DaVinci Resolve at max capacity everything, and the workflow is MUCH easier than almost anything else I’ve worked with. Love the fact that I can swap out any components (I used to have a laptop with soldered in pieces), so it’ll always be easily upgradable. For gaming, I can run Dying Light 2 at highest settings with Ray Tracing, BUT only at 3.2K or less, in terms of resolution (and 3.2K runs at like 24-30fps, so I run it just below that). Overall, SUPER happy with it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Computer/Bad Documentation Quality built computer with clean layout. Downsides include the HP factory BIOS with limited user settings. The factory shipping box is thin and inadequate for such an expensive machine. New box arrived torn up badly, but machine was OK. No manuals are included with the computer and the online documents are vague and frustrating. The online motherboard spec sheet gives the wrong processor socket LGA1200 for the 17-1200K Intel Core. It should correctly say LGA1700 socket. I contacted online service support about the error and they denied the error stating this was correct. Online support was a joke connecting to a boiler room with scripted responses. HP needs to copy Dell and have a complete comprehensive instruction manual with detailed photos, connections, and upgrade instructions. The online links are next to useless. HP has a Youtube Omen 45L video showing removing and replacing parts but this does not meet the needs of a comprehensive manual. Vague blowout diagrams in multiple languages given in product links doesn't cut it.

Some of the lights on the front the 3 circles have already stopped working 2nd week. So not as Impressed as I thought I would be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth purchase price if Windows 11 resolves issues Stays cool during gaming, quiet fans. Many RGB/ARGB color choices but only works with Omen Gaming Hub and nothing else. Memory can only be overclocked through BIOS if not purchased from HP which seems shady since their hyperx are overpriced and out of stock. You cannot use Omen hub to overclock otherwise. Fast PC but there are many and I mean many issues with windows 11. Finally fixed an out of the box critical issue and there are many other warnings that pop up in event viewer which is not acceptable for the cost of this PC. Ultimately worth it when windows works out the kinks.

For people who care that much you can certainly gut the parts and use them on a different motherboard though. Its an especially great deal in this economy though. Try to get it on sale if possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful computer. I purchased the 45L to run flight sims with the G2 VR headset. So far everything works great. My most powerful computer to date. The reason I knocked off one star is the computer arrived damaged and contacting HP is problematic. I tried to fill out the warranty online but the numbers for my computer don't show up. I straightened the bent tabs on the glass panel which arrived knocked loose from the case so it would latch. I straightened the top edge of the case where it appears the computer was dropped upside down or smashed somehow, so the top panel which arrived unable to be secured, would fit properly. So to sum it up; great computer, not the rest of the ordeal.

It has a feature where it senses your presence near it and boots up from sleep mode. No issues with the software and linking my previous account to this PC was seamless. Haves all the features you’ll need under omen hub. Gives you real time data of temps, cpu/ram usage. Overclocking is easier than I thought and so is boosting(?) overall a satisfied customer!! Do purchase and don’t wait.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great PC Great PC, so far no complain. The outside protection box is very decent, however there's no protection inside of the pc during the delievery, which is something that I would consider a bit dangerous. Other than that, I am very happy with this omen pre-built.
