Awesome WiFi Mesh System
Needed a better WiFi mesh then a previous brand that started to really slowing down on speed for no reason. No matter what I did with with the company, it kept on going back to very slow speeds. Started getting speed slower then dial up modem speed. Read reviews and decided to invest in the 970 WiFi system. Best investment. Now getting the speeds we were suppose to be getting.

I have a particularly challenging home for Wi-Fi. It is a 1925 home arranged in a serpentine configuration with masonry tile walls. A veritable Wi-Fi gauntlet. I started with an Xfinity Xfi mesh built up to six pods. I moved on to a TP link XE750 pro Wi-Fi 6e set up. That still required 5 pods. And even then, only got typically 2-400 Mbps Wi-Fi out of my 1GB Wi-Fi in the kitchen. But Wi-Fi was cutting out frequently and Comcast said it wasn't them. The installer suggested I get a Netgear setup. Having no choice, I went ahead and ordered the best thing I could find which was the Orbi 970. I thought I could return it if it didn't make any difference. But OMG, I can't believe how good this is. It turns out the problem with Wi-Fi was indeed Comcast but The Netgear system has the ability to at least look at the Wi-Fi speed directly at the router to modem level so you could tell If your speeds are not that high, whether it is a Wi-Fi issue or a modem or ISP issue. But finally, regardless of all that, this finally has solved the issues of Wi-Fi penetration in my home! I am getting consistently 1.2 Gbps throughout the whole house. The full modem speed. I've never seen that before! And that's just with the three nodes. I'm honestly not sure I even need three of them but fine. All the old Xfi and Tp-Link is going up on eBay now!

Very fast WiFi
The speeds I’m getting from this system have surpassed my expectations. Even using a satellite 40 feet away, am getting 80% of my incoming speed. So, about 800mbps out of the 1000mbps I have.

I thought I was probably wasting money to upgrade from previous ORBI, but...
Now my ~9000sqft totally concrete dwelling has stable wifi within the house and outbuildings. For difficult situations WiFI 7 ORBI is the best solution other than rewiring the entire house.

Amazing system with easy setup
My network is no longer the limiting factor! Now I’m considering upping my provider plan to take advantage of the fiber optic service I’ve had for years and maybe go even better with my already high end HP gaming computers. That said, everything else is lightening fast; cameras, TVs, printers … And it was super easy to set up with it recognizing all my devices right off the bat and the user interface is robust and intuitive. Setting up separate accounts and a few other advanced features was a breeze. Thank you Netgear! Great product!

Excellent WiFi 7 Router
I have a large, 3 story home with thick walls and a 3-Pack provides coverage throughout the house. As with any Wi-Fi system, speed slows as you get further from a router or satellite, but no drops. I have Cat 6 cabling to my desk and get 8000 Mbps down and 6700 Mbps up after going through a long cable connection and Thunderbolt switches. The system was very easy to set up, like others, I found it easier to pair the satellites when they were initially in the same room.

The system was very easy to install. The Orbi app helped to position the satellites. The system replaces an older Orbi mesh. The available bandwidth and performance is much better. However, I get more "offline" bounce messages than before, from devices that are hardwired to the router, than I get if the same device is hardwired to the internet "modem"

Worth the cost because of the quality
At first I was apprehensive about the cost, sorry but I’m being honest. However after using the product and seeing how far the reach of distance and intelligence the Orbi has, I’m so happy I bought this product. For the first time in years to have zero problems and fast, I mean super fast speed was worth every single penny. I don’t write reviews often, but had to because this particular product is amazing. No More Interference
I live in a townhome community with lots of neighbors. Every house has a router blasting away on full power. I knew that the interference was getting worse and worse.
Most neighbors kept their devices on default channels, but even with a Wi-Fi6 router, it was having difficult reaching my third floor without an extender.
This was a functional, but frustrating relationship for years as my devices were always having to reconnect to the network.
Once I purchased my NETGEAR Orbi 970 Series Mesh Systems, life changed. The congestion in the neighborhood was still there, but it was as though I now have a private HOV lane on the information superhighway.
I have near zero lagtime, low ping counts, reliable consistent connections and a reasonably strong signal to noise ratio.
In short, the Orbi has transformed my family's Wi-Fi experience. I am now able to telework from home without fear of dropping connection in the middle of a virtual call.
Overall, for me an my family the Orbi system made the most sense.
In fairness, I did purchase a competitor mesh system previously and returned it almost as quickly as it arrived.
With Orbi I was pleasantly surprised at just how simple the setup was.
My only knock on the system to the extent there is one is that I would like to have the option to hide the SSID and to monitor the power output of the router and satellites.
Otherwise, out of the box it is a fantastic system!

I had my doubts about how well this would work for my use case. This has allowed me to extend my local network to the edges of my property. The setup just worked the first time (a real rarity in my experience) and the system is way fast. Expensive, but so far worth it.

Amazing speed and coverage
This was a replacement for a TP Link 6e that failed. Everything in the house was faster- we only have on Wifi7 device- but the signal strength is so much better. Even Alexa responds extremely fast. 2k is a lot of money, but I don't regret it at all.

Worth the cost to upgrade
I have a multi-level home and have difficulty with connecting from my upstairs office and bedroom where I work in the evening. I finally got tired of the connection issues and poney'd up the money to buy Orbi. I love it, fixed the issue. I have never had a router with satellites but now am sure that I won't be going back.

Upgrading to WiFi 7
I had an Orbi RBR50 mesh network in our 2 story home. It was time to future proof the home, since we had a 2G internet connection.
The installation and setup was a breeze, except MyQ garage controllers didn’t support the 5Ghz spectrum. Besides or private network and guest network, the system included an IoT network.
The only difficult part was having to reinstall the MyQ garage controllers since I changed WiFi routers.
Other IoT devices like TV’s easily connected with the 5Ghz guest network and the connections were much faster than before.
My iPhone 16 Pro Speedtest was downloading at over 1.1Gb and the new Orbi router Speedtest was downloading and uploading in excess of 2.5Gb.
Older computers on the network will have to be upgraded over time to take advantage of the WiFi performance.

Demands Unacceptable and Unnecessary Security.
I returned the Orbi 970 which I bought directly from NetGear for 2 reasons. First, the uplink port stopped working within as day of installation. I could have understood that and just asked for a replacement unit, annoying but not a big deal.
However, the major reason was that the Orbi 970 was unacceptable was that it REQUIRED that I set a password on the WiFi. I live in the country on a dead-end road and my nearest neighbor is almost half a mile away. I also have over 100 IoT devices in my home. I did not want to spend days with much of my home off-line while I set passwords in all of those devices.
Worse, NetGear technical support claimed that WiFi 7 requires passwords. While I didn't spend several hundred dollars to purchase a copy of the WiFi 7 standard (and yes, I'm well-qualified to read such standards after working on telco-scale network monitoring software for many years), my web searches indicated that the standard requires implementing new and superior encryption systems, it does not prohibit unencrypted WiFi or require passwords.
Finally, NetGear does NOT get to set my network security policy.
The ONLY reason this review isn't a one star review is because NetGear's CSR made it easy to return the 970.

Purchased the 3 piece 970 system. Setup was super easy. It's best to set up both satellites when setting up the router. I spoke with customer service late in the evening and they helped me confirm I did everything correctly. Probably the best phone customer support out there for wifi related products. Price is relative: there's nothing more costly than wasting time on bad wifi connections, and the 970 solves that instantly....

Having come from old equipment, the Orbi 970 has felt like going from a horse drawn carriage to a sports car. An easy and intuitive set up, user friendly app and all the settings I could ever want. The inclusion of the loT WiFi, erased the worry of having to compromise between taking advantage of the benefits of modern equipment and my older smart home appliances. This is a premium product well worth its price.

Blazing Fast
Last month I upgraded to Fiber Optic service from a new provider in Pensacola. I was expecting this upgrade to be significantly better than my old Coaxial cable modem. I was getting very fast speeds coming into the new modem, but my Linksys mesh router I bought about 5 years ago was not able to provide what I was looking for.
And then I found this Orbi. It changed my life. It was twice the coin that I paid for the old system, which wasn’t cheap. The Orbi system was very easy to set up using the app. I had no issues at all figuring it out. Very good instructions were provided.
The speed through the Orbi is phenomenal. I’m sure it’s way faster and can handle much more than what I will ever need, but it’s good to know it is there if it is needed.
If you have the money and want a serious upgrade to your wireless experience, then get this Orbi mesh system. It will be worth it. If not, then maybe it might be worth taking on second part time holiday job to pay for it. “No Regrats”.

I had an older Orbi router satellites and it was time to upgrade. Easy to setup, so far so good as my speeds are looking great! I have 1 Gig internet with ATT, just did an OKLA speed test and it was at 900 MB. Awesome...

Upgraded from Orbi 750 to Orbi 970
Extremely easy install. It sets itself up and required no thought. I decided to not make any tweaks to the router settings for maximum reliability. 970 is providing better coverage than the 6 Mesh Orbi 750. 970 devices are thinner than Orbi 750 but much taller. Internet speed is somewhat better than Orbi 750, but not perceptually dramatic; however, 1 second faster is a lot! Orbi 750 is limited to 1gbs and with 970 the limit is 27 gbs. So best to upgrade your isp plan. I am upgrading at cost of only $5/month more to upgrade from 1 to 2gbs. Orbi app works perfectly with 970 and even handles another 750 system I have at different location.
Has been trouble free so far...

The range of this system is much better than my previous set up with an extender. The extended security contract easily transferred in the account as well. I have never had an issue with malicious files. ??

No, it's not inexpensive however YES, it's hands-down THE BEST WIFI 7 mesh system you can buy today. I always purchase NETGEAR products because of their SUPERB RELIABILITY and excellent PRODUCT SUPPORT. I love the simplicity of the Orbi App. It did a great job during the initial install, and again during the addition of a third satellite (I have a LARGE AREA for coverage). The Orbi App also did an excellent job handling the most recent firmware update. It was totally seamless. I upgraded from the NETGEAR RBS 850 WIFI 6 mesh system and the increase in speed and coverage with the RBS 970 Series is phenomenal.

What a great product
I have been dying with the speed of my wifi. I am stuck with this service that they advertise as 50 maps which is slow already, and my tests show 12 mps. In fact my test died a few times because of a bad wifi signal. Then I found the netgear product and decided to try it out.
I am now getting over 50mps in the speed tests and so happy. I know...
50mps is not the extremely fast, but compared to my 12mps, it's like light speed. My cameras and tvs and all my Alexas are running great.
I would recommend this product to anyone have wifi problems.

Great Mesh System for Coverage
I live out a ways in a very rural area with very little internet options. Starlink was a godsend but still not super fast as a broadband network. With all being said you want a high coverage Router system that you don’t lose upload and download speeds especially when you only have so much bandwidth to work with from the start. This Orbi 970 Quad Band system has been brilliant to work with and lives up to the hype. It boosts my service easily throughout my whole house, from my basement to the 3rd floor, no dead spots. The app is extremely easy to setup and use. The satellites are easily found and connected. This system meshes perfectly with all components. The only drawback that I feel comes with this product is the price point but with that being said you get what you pay for period. If you can afford this mesh system don’t hesitate. Future proof your home and get one today. You will be happy.

Best WiFi I have ever had
We have had a NETGEAR modem for a few years now paired with the google mesh network. The google mesh network constantly dropped and I had to restart the routers at least once a week for almost 5 years. Finally, I got sick of it and found the NETGEAR Orbi 970. It was outside my budget but I made the splurge and haven’t regretted it. I also chose to upgrade my modem to a NETGEAR CM3000. The combination has been amazing. If you want the best internet and WiFi experience then this is the WiFi router for you. I can’t forget to mention that the NETGEAR app is amazing. You can check what devices are connected to your network and the NETGEAR Armor scans all devices connected to your network for vulnerabilities. In a world where everything and everyone is trying to steal your information, I can’t imagine a better service.

Updated to new mesh system
We purchased the Orbi 970 with two satellites to ensure proper coverage of our home. We struggled with wifi due to the main unit being in our closet as the builder installed all wiring there.
We have a two story house and downstairs and our yards have been our problem. After the installation and proper locations, our new mesh system works great. Setting it up was easy. The only problem we encountered was any device designed to use WPA2 vs WPA3. We ended up utilizing our old WiFi (another Netgear) as an access point, wired back to the main new Orbi 970. Everything started working again.
We are happy.

Great connectivity and easy setup.
I originally purchased the Orbi 770s and they worked fine but I was still having connection issues in my basement and garage. I decided to exchange the Orbi 770s for the Orbi 970s and I noticed a huge improvement in my devices connectivity in the basement and garage. I am currently using Xfinity as my ISP with 2gig download and 300mb upload. With the Orbi 770s my download speeds were around 900 on WiFi. With the 970s, my download speed went up to around 1500 on WiFi. I highly recommend this product.

This is a great system from Orbi. Don’t have anything else to compare. This system eliminates the need of multiple satellites you need to improve your coverage. This will improve efficiency and productivity. Definitely recommend it, even though it’s little costly but worth every penny.

Pricey but absolutely worth it
I have xfinity 2GB internet but was having a real hard time getting acceptable WiFi speeds throughout my house. It’s about a 3000 sqft home and while I fully expected the WiFi to not be strong throughout it all, I was seeing speeds of like 400mbps a couple of rooms down the hall from the modem. After setting up Orbi, I’m consistently getting 1.6 gbps and above speeds throughout the house! Well worth the investment

This is the best Wi-Fi system I've used to date. It's as if every Wi-Fi connection is plugged into Cat-7 cable. I have at least 50 connection points and they all work with no discernable latency. I highly recommend it.

I am thoroughly pleased with my upgrade to the Orbi 970 WiFi Mesh system. I replaced and Orbri RBK853 and the improved performance is exceptional. The signal is consistent throughout my home and far into the backyard. My speed when connected to WiFi has almost doubled. While it is expensive, it is well worth the spend and the set up was easy. I'd recommend this system, especially if you work remotely.

I know this wasn't the least expensive route to get max wi-fi coverage but we no longer have any dead spots. We don't have a huge house (~4,000 sq. ft.) but a lot of walls and angles. I also like the device management details in the Orbi app that allows me to see the link rate of each device.

Fast And Powerful - Future Proof!
I upgraded from an Orbi 850 to the Orbi 970 series because I also upgraded my internet service to 2.5 gigs. The 970 has the ability to fully take advantage of these high speeds across the entire local network. Installation was a breeze with the updated app and implementing port forwarding, IOT networks and the like is mega simple. I had retained my original WIFI SSID and password, so all devices automatically followed into the upgraded network. Couldn't be more simple! I previously had three satellites and one router with the Orbi RBK853. With the 970, I found greater physical coverage with only two satellites. I am using one satellite in a wireless backhaul and the other in wired, and both are rock-solid maximizing my 2.5 gig internet connection. If you have above a 1gig connection, do yourself a favor and future-proof not just your network, but also your WIFI. It is elegantly simple and just works.

After moving into a new home I found nothing was working with the current WiFi setup. Paying for fiber internet and only getting 20mbps, I finally had it! I made the plunge after some research on the Orbi system and it fixed everything!

The Beastmaster 5000 of mesh systems
I was having issues finding a mesh system that could cover my house. I went through a few and finally found this Orbi system. The house now has the coverage and speed like I am on a local LAN. Streaming video and hi resolution audio is no longer a factor from my NAS.
The bottom line. Hands down the best mesh system I have ever had.

Do not upgrade - very clunky and results in lots of problems!!
Beware the risks of upgrading! I had an Orbi 6 system that I upgraded - it was supposed to be simple, just change SSID and password to the one used with the old system. After zi was finished, Sonos, Alexa and many other systems didn’t work. Many days later I am continuing to encounter issues. Cannot even get into the admin page of the Orbi - it says wrong password and it doesn’t let me even change it. Nightmare.

I’ve been an Orbi fan for years. I’ve deployed them for small businesses. I had 2gb fiber line installed and wanted to upgrade to the 970’s for a while. I finally pulled the trigger and I am not disappointed. The speed is unbelievable. I get the most out of my devices and use the WiFi 7 for high end gaming. I highly recommend it especially for those of you that have internet speed over 1gb. Must have!!

After upgrading my internet to 2/2Gbps fiber, I also wanted to upgrade my mesh network to fully take advantage of the speeds available in my fiber plan and as a secondary measure to future proof for Wi-Fi 7. I tried the TP Link Deco 16000 which is quad band and also Wi-Fi 7 ready. I had so many problems with that system, specially constantly disconnecting for the service and reach of signal. I even bought an additional satellite (BE95) and still was having issues with signal in a 2326 sq. ft one floor home. After about 3-4 months I finally gave up and decided to try the Orbi 970. I must say I am impressed, I have not had a single signal drop since I switched over and my speeds are just above the 2/2gbps according to my fiber plan. Also, the 3 towers provide me enough signal outside of the home (compared to the 4 DECO towers) for my cameras to work fast and efficient, even when checking remotely away from my home which the DECO also lacked due to signal degradation.
The GUI for the Orbi is straight to the point and easy to navigate through. Overall, I’m truly impressed with this mesh system, its reliability, and signal reach.
The 2 things is dislike are the high price, and when you check for updates the app locks-up in that page checking for updates between 2-5 minutes and not allow you to do anything until the system informs you whether there’s an update or not. At the end, you truly get what you pay for and that’s a reliable system… as it should be!
Definitely recommend this system compared to others.

This is a great system when paired with fiber optics - the fastest internet service ever. Can handle 80+ devices with out issue. The down side is Netgear’s tech service, they continue to use unprofessional off shore people who barely speak English, and do not know what customer service means.

My old house made my Wi-Fi the worst. I had google mesh which sucked and I had Verizon extenders. Also sucked. As soon as we install this amazing system, I bought the original router with two satellites, and an additional two satellites, I no longer have any trouble even going through plaster walls. Now we have absolutely no trouble and infinitely fast Wi-Fi everywhere, including the multitude of cameras that are outside our house.

Fast in close range
The 970 is crazy fast in a short range. Once it gets a little distance it moves off the 5/6ghz to the 2.4ghz and then you are losing a lot of throughput. Its not the equipments fault just how the technology goes. Also to note that spanning from one satellite to another is only recommended out to two satellites in a wireless chain. Again just a consideration when setting up. This is a great setup for a condensed mesh network just don’t expect to get a lot of range with great speed as it just isn’t possible.

Powerfull easy setup
I had a orby 960 series with issues keeping connected router satellite. Tried netgear support, i reset the system still same connection issues. I checked my purchase that was done at bestbuy and noticed I also had 4 yr warranty through GeeK. Did the claim and went with 970. So far a week later no issues and much increased speed. very easy setup.Used same SSID all 50 units connected up. lol

Just awful. Orbi has gone down hill fast. I paid over 2 grand in feb 2025 for the router and 2 satellites. Now July and I buy a third satellite for 800 dollars. But can’t connect to my mesh system. I call Orbi and they say I need to pay 300 for 3 months or 600 for lifetime for some kind of security firewall?! Absurd. I refuse and will return the satellite if this doesn’t get straightened out by Orbi.

New wifi is great!
We recently Installed this system in less than an hr. the office was struggling with a service for months with constant down time and service techs running around the building attempting to fix it. In 1 hr this was up and running covering the whole building. Speeds are amazing. 100% worth the Invesment it has already paid for itself.

Orbi 970
I’ve been using the Netgear Orbi 970 for a weeks now, and overall, it’s a solid mesh WiFi system, but it’s not perfect. The setup was pretty easy, even for someone who isn’t super tech-savvy. The app walks you through everything, and I had the whole thing up and running in about 20 minutes.
The coverage is impressive. I have a three-story house with a lot of dead zones, and the Orbi 970 pretty much wiped those out. Speeds are fast and consistent, even when multiple people are streaming or gaming at the same time. I also like that it supports WiFi 7, so it feels future-proof.
That said, the price is steep. It’s definitely on the higher end, and I’m not sure everyone needs this much power unless you have a big house or a lot of devices. Also, the units themselves are kind of bulky, so they’re not the easiest to hide.
One thing that bugged me is that some advanced features are locked behind a subscription. For the price, I expected more included out of the box. The parental controls and security features are good, but having to pay extra for them feels a bit much.
In short, the Orbi 970 is a great choice if you want top-tier performance and don’t mind spending extra. If you’re on a budget or have a smaller space, you might want to look at other options. But if you want fast, reliable WiFi everywhere in your home, it delivers.

I bought the router and 1 point set. This is amazing, the coverage it provides is fantastic. I was able to move my smart bird feeder away from home and get more bird traffic. I like the armor as well but I know I need to spend more time to review its reviews to understand it better. I wish there was an option to pick and choose which device to connect with router and which one to the point. Over all, this is amazing product.

Orbi 970 should be mandated for every home office requiring consistent, fast, and reliable WiFi
I set up my 3 Orbis 970’s a couple of weekends ago now. Set up was super easy, fast, and intuitive. I used to have dead zones outside and in a few rooms. I now have coverage through my entire house, my garage and outdoors. The signals is always strong and reliable and it is like I have an Ethernet connection on all of my devices. The speed is as advertised and my WiFi security is rock solid which was an issue with my previous router. I spent more money to get the very best WiFi and I was not disappointed. I upgraded my service provider router as well to better support the Orbi speed. If you have a serious need for reliable WiFi because of super intense job related data requirements, the Orbi is probably for you and you can stop looking around for the best of the best option.

My office is on the opposite side of the house from my modem and no matter how great my internet speed is, I can't get a good connection for work. Getting the NETGEAR Orbi has boosted my signal strength, in my office over 300%! Their customer service was incredibly helpful when I had issues getting one of the satalite units to connect to the internet. Was relatively easy to install and I'm extremely happy with it! Unbelievable system
So, I had the Orbi AX4200. Which work great. Wasn't having any issues with it. I had it about four years. Just decided to upgrade my system because I knew future devices would start being wifi 7 capable. My current ISP is Spectrum, unfortunately they only offer a gig in my area. So I was getting around 870 on my Mac mini and iPhone 15 pro max. Both of those are wifi 6e. Hooked the Orbi 970. I'm actually getting over 1160 now. Which was awesome, being I'm only getting a gig. As far as distance goes. I can walk across my street and still pick up my wifi. And my nearest satellite is about 30ft from my front door. If you're on the fence. Buy it. Orbi is real easy to setup. If I had one complaint, yeah it would be the price. I think it could definitely be a little cheaper. But, You are definitely getting your money's worth out of it.

Huge Upgrade
My wife and I both work from home and spend most of our days on video calls. We have four kids, which means lots of connected devices and gaming systems. And we have a lot of connected home tech including high end whole house audio systems, smart lights, etc. Our legacy Eero system was struggling to keep up and certainly not getting close to our 1 gigabit Fios speed. Enter the Netgear Orbi 970 with 4 satelites. This system is amazing. While we have limited WiFi 7 enabled tech at the moment, the wireless internet speed and coverage is a huge improvement. Speed tests around the house consistently show maximum WiFi speeds and everything is noticeably more responsive. No more poor video calls, no more laggy gaming, no more dropped audio streaming. The system is an investment, but one that I’m very happy I made. Set up was super easy and the satellites quickly filled our entire indoor (3 levels / very wide) and outdoor space with blazing fast internet. Highly recommended!

I replaced my six google WiFi 6e mesh network with 3 or I satellites and I haven’t looked back. Internal wireless network speeds are showing over 1200 mbs for U/D speeds. It easily handles my smart home that has over 100 connected devices. The biggest win is that I’m no longer having issues with dropped connections or issues with devices not connecting at all.

The system is plug and play. App is good. Speed test is helpful to test actual speed from ISP. Only complaint is the way devices are managed within the mesh doesnt allow you to force a device to a different access point. Have some stationary devices getting weak signal because they are connected to an access point across the house when a much closer stronger signal exists.

Finally, a real user-friendly Wi-Fi
I don’t post a lot of reviews, but I will say that this is probably worth mentioning for anybody who’s thinking about buying this Netgear Wi-Fi 7 whole house Wi-Fi system. I was a little bit skeptical about the price, but then I saw that the software was designed here in the US and I figured that would be a pretty darn good improvement over some of the junk that I’ve tried over the years. Before I bought this, about two days before I purchased a leading brand whole house Wi-Fi. It was absolutely horrible. It gave no flexibility For anybody who’s IT savvy to make any sort of customizations to NAT routes or anything that you might want to do that’s a little bit out of the ordinary. I think this unit excels for a couple of different reasons, first, it actually works really well as far as covering a 4000 square-foot house in all areas with only two access points. Second, it’s pretty easy to configure, and even has an old-fashioned web interface where you can go in and customize all kinds of things Like static IP addresses, NAT translations, etc. I didn’t love the price, but in the end, I don’t regret buying this unit. In fact, I’m thinking about buying another one for another house.

Mesh solved my coverage issues/improved speed.
I have a very large area that needs to be covered. I have used extenders in the past with mixed results. I could never get full three bar Wi-Fi coverage to my entire house. I also needed to extend coverage to my driveway in order for my car to do software updates. Using this system has gotten me great fast coverage everywhere it is needed. I am very happy with this mesh system.

The Orbi 970 works as advertised. Getting maximum speed available from my internet provider and wifi speeds are over 1100 mbps download and 350 mbps upload. Easy to setup. Amazing coverage. Only issue is the Orbi iOS app. It could use some work, some areas are buggy, performance of the app is sluggish, and it needs more high-end features considering the cost of the Orbi 970.

We bought Orbi with 2 satellites to cover 4000 sqft. Does a great job and able to connect our 5gbps fiber network. I had to put it in AP mode as it was arguing with the ISP router so was causing interference on some websites. The control center made it simple…and Google searches for how to do it.

I had a Breezeline 3 Pod Mesh system with a Hitron modem/router/WAP gateway that had become unreliable over the years and did not fully cover the house or outside the house. I noticed I could see my neighbor's SSID from two houses away and asked him what he was using, Orbi 970. Expensive but serious performance. I closed my eyes and bought a 3 pack (2 satellites and a router/WAP). The installation went mostly well but did not result in a working system, I got the impression that usually the Netgear system would configure the gateway device from gateway to bridge mode but this did not happen. However, one call to Breezeline Tech Support and 10 minutes later the Hitron converted to bridge mode and the system went online. After I renamed the Orbi SSID and PW to what was in the Hitron, all 50 Wi-Fi devices started logging into the network. Then after experimenting with satellite placement, I got the system set up for optimal coverage. I have 250 mbps cable service and now I have that max speed at every Wi-Fi device that can handle it. Example: I have a Roku Ultra streaming box that with the old system tested at 36 mbps, with Orbi it gets 185 mbps. It only needs 5 mbps to do HD but gives you an idea of the difference. These Orbi units are gigantic compared to the Pods I had or any other router I've ever seen, so don't let that surprise you. I found three locations for them that are out of the way. You have to sequentially turn on the satellites to make them line up for best coverage. I am surprised Orbi doesn't do a better job with that. I used to get Wi-Fi to about 30 feet outside the house on a good day. Now I get Wi-Fi at the end of a 400 foot long dock, or to the beginning of our lengthy driveway. This is great as we have very weak cell coverage and always have our phones on Wi-Fi telephony which now works all over the property. Yes, this kit is crazy money, but it changed everything around here and we are future proofed for years as Wi-Fi 7 becomes more popular.

This covers my 5K sq foot house that has many dead spots for WiFi with previous systems. This is no longer the case and I have 1G coverage in every corner of the house including a mother in law unit above the garage with one of the units places in my garage “man cave”.

Easy set up, fast speed, Awful support
Set up and firmware update was a breeze with app. However, I was having issues with slow down load speeds of 50-90mb. Called support, time waited was 1hr . Then spoke with a technician that I had a very difficult time understanding. He had me do the usual rest, which I already told him I did twice, and then re updated the firmware with the same version that was already up dated. Since I allowed him to take use of my computer I could see that the version was the same. When that was done and rebooted all my 70 wifi connected devices didn't reconnect and the download speed was now ~40 mb. He fumble with my Norton anti-virus took screenshot shots and after approximately 3 hours said he needed to escalate my case to a higher level, and some would get back to me. What I did after ending the call was reset the router, and satellites , restored the settings on my anti-virus which resolved the slow down load issue which I believe the technician should have done from the start.Reconnecting the 70 wifi peripherals was very
irritating. I did get a call back from the higher technician which I couldn't answer but listing to the voice mail, I was again having difficulty understand him. Given I have resolved my issue I won't be calling support back but am very concerned about calling in the future due to a language barrier.

Best in Class! Outstanding Performance
Orbi 970 is worth every penny spent! Performance second to none! Set Up pretty quick and seamless! Range is beyond my needs but love it! Security upgrade a necessity by today's standards! Glad I chose to make this investment, exceeds my expectations, performs as NETGEAR advertises, get yours now, you will not be disappointed. BTW, you never realize how many Wi-Fi devices are actually hooked up to your current system and do not even realize you exceed their connectivity spec which adds strain to the bandwidth and performance.

I now can utilize 8Gb google fiber. my speeds are very fast. and I really appreciate the comprehensive parental controls, much beyond apple screen time I can lock down websites across all my children's devices not just their iPhones. and I can set time limits on Roblox on their Mac minis -something I couldn't do with Apple screen time alone - great product!

Frequent and regular loss of WIFI signal.
It drops the WIFI signal regularly. Still not convinced that this product is worth what I paid for it.

WiFi Upgrade
I needed to upgrade my wifi system to get better reception in our outside living space. I always liked the Orbi system but our current system was no longer going to receive updates so I decided to go with the 970. I bought an additional extender just in case it was needed. Set up was easy and quick and when all was done I did not need the extender. Signal strength went from fair to excellent using just the main and two satellites located in the same place as my old system. Reception outside is great now.

Reliable WiFi, Finally Delivered
I was dealing with frustratingly slow WiFi at home, consistently stuck at 10–20 Mbps, which made working from home a daily struggle. Enter the NETGEAR Orbi 970, and the difference has been astounding.
Setup was incredibly quick and easy. Almost immediately, my speeds jumped to around 800 Mbps, and WiFi coverage throughout the house became flawless. Dead zones vanished, and connectivity has been consistently strong ever since.
The only downside is the mobile app, which occasionally fails to display connected devices until manually refreshed. It’s a minor annoyance, but one that NETGEAR could definitely improve.
Despite that, the Orbi 970 has been a game-changer for my home network. Easily one of the best tech purchases I’ve made.

Orbi 970 WIFI 7
I ordered a router plus 4 satellites. Installation was easy and the system was up and running in 20 minutes. Note that the system automatically finds 2 satellites and then you need to use the Orbi app to add the other two satellites one at a time which was easy to do. The network map in the app is helpful. Still changing devices over to the new network but have hardwired TVs and PC to the router and satellites and they work great.

Simply awesome!
I have always been on a ASUS person until it came time for me to upgrade to 5 Gb fiber. I ended up using a Calix mesh network that the provider gave me. Simply put it was garbage. I had four total nodes and nowhere near the coverage I had with my ASUS. The hunt was on!
I was looking for a mesh network that would give me range and coverage, the latest Wi-Fi standards and had 10 GB ports. The Orby 970 was my go to based on all by research and the reviews.
Simply put, it was the best decision I ever made. It was a breeze to set up and configure. All of my devices, all 126 of them, work seamlessly. The ability to separate out the Wi-Fi is awesome. And you have advanced modes if you need to go in there and tinker with the settings. I bought the three pack and it covered all 5200 square-foot of my house, including out into the front and backyards. Something neither the Calix, nor the ASSuS was able to ever do. It also solved the inconsistent coverage with my 2.4 GHz band on the previous mesh unit, which was always dropping out and would not reach into the far regions of the house.
From my perspective, it is definitely worth the price. You pay for what you get. And I wanted something that was easy to set up and forget about it once it is. No complaints from the wife kids and I get the 5 Gb throughput I need for my gaming and other network attached storage devices.
If your military, you can get a military discount. Or you can do like I did and find it on sale during a prime day or when Netgear is having their own sale and then couple that with the discount.

Orbi 970
The Orbi 970 mesh routers have completely transformed my home network. The speed, reliability, and range are outstanding—no more dead zones, even in the far corners of the house. The bar continues to rise
Having used other mesh networks, I transitioned to an Orbi mesh network 5 years ago and wasn’t sure if I needed to update my system. When I did update to the 970 series, I have been very pleased. The app again was super easy to use and the hardware continues to shine and make my internet work so smoother than what I expected. The speed and connectivity seems to have improved without changing my internet provider or speed.

Better than I have had before
I live in a rural area and I am spread out. The Orbi 970 router and 2 Satellites is a far superior system much stronger than anything I have experienced before. I believe my home is covered in excess of 150' radius all the way around my home and through my barn. In my last home I hired a professional to install a Eero system with a beam projector from a barm with Starlink to my house. The Eero system failed in coverage from the Router to my garage the was about 75' away with 2 other mesh devices in my home, those devices were hard wired together with ethernet cable. I had to add another Eero mesh device outside of the garage to get reception in the garage. Compared to Orbi that I installed in about a half hour that would have gone way beyond my old garage. The professional installed system cost me $5,000. to have installed, compared to me installing this Orbi system from the app in a little over a half hour by myself. No wiring, just plug the satellites in at opposite ends of my home inside, and I was done, for way less than ½ the expense of the previous system. I am sold on the Orbi 970!

Final got whole house coverage
I lived in my house for years using different extenders ti help with our internet service. Until last week i bought the Orbi 970 and it changed everything. We now get whole house coverage and it was easy to hookup.

I upgraded from the Orbi 960 as the wifi became an issue that Netgear was trying to resolve. Instead, I opted to upgrade and the 970 performance is awesome and wifi incredibly fast. Same great features of the 960 with enhanced performance that should last.

Expensive but superior product
Wi-Fi is superior to other network devices and this system covers the 4K sq ft home completely. The Orbi app is easy to use, product includes one yr Armor and the setup was very easy. Support is offshore and English comprehension is not what it needs to be for this system. I previously purchased the Orbi 960 2 yrs ago and Wi-Fi began to have issues so I upgraded to the 970 series and the results were immediate. Wi-Fi speeds were greatly improved throughout the network.
Happy with purchase, not so much with support.

Easiest Install ever
I've been using Linksys until my recent purchase of the NETGEAR Orbi system. This has been the easiest WiFi system I've ever installed. I highly recommend this system. I also installed a new NETGEAR 24-port Gigabit Unmanaged High-Power PoE Switch, 480W (GS524UP) to power connect all of my PoE cameras and equipment. I also very happy with it as well...

Buyer Be Ware - Poor Performance & Service
Replaced a Orbi 6 series with the 970. After a year of constant reboots, resets and satellite placement revisions I’m ready to toss it in the garbage.
The signal strength is half the coverage of my old system. Customer service is horrible or nonexistent.

I have always been an Orbi person. Once the 970 came out, I knew I needed to have it. It is amazing and works flawlessly. It works so well, I don’t need nearly as many satellites as I used to. Very happy with this purchase and it’s worth the money.

We had the Orbi NightHawk Mesh system that was Wifi 6 capable and it easily provided service to my 6,000 sq. foot home AND to my 700 sq. foot stable that isn't far from the house. We just upgraded to the 970 Series. It was literally plug and play. We named the new WiFi network the same as the previous WiFi name, and all 82 connected devices seamless jumped on. We have a 2.13GB download speed and the mesh system easily delivers signal to all devices, both streaming and interactive, without a hiccup. We couldn't be more satisfied.

Incredible speed
I got this item in the mail about a week ago now. I have it positioned in the garage, and this router is able to get me crazy fast speeds all through the house. My last router would cut out and be unreliable and I have not had any issues since the install. Also love that it has a dedicated WiFi for smart home accessories so that it doesn’t interfere with more important tasks. I have 2.5g speed and I get over 1 gig over WiFi almost everywhere is my 1500sqft house. Absolutely love this unit and would buy it again.

Extremely Disappointing and Completely Unreliable
This system has never worked properly from the day I installed it. I upgraded to this model (over $2,000) specifically to fix ongoing WiFi issues, and it has been nothing but a nightmare. I’ve spent hours on the phone with customer support with no meaningful resolution. Even when the satellite is connected directly by Ethernet, the system still drops WiFi multiple times a day and behaves inconsistently.
I have been trying to obtain a refund for more than a month, and despite repeated requests, I’m still being pushed into endless troubleshooting for a product that simply does not function. For the price, quality, and time wasted, this has been one of the most frustrating purchases I’ve ever made.
I cannot recommend this product to anyone.
