Several features of this router have made our world much easier, first install was fantastically fast, and then setting up our previous network was easy, and fast because this router has so much more power that it made so much easier than our old mesh router. I had issues with an older nighthawk router intermittently dropping the 5G network and this was a big improvement. Just wish it had an easy way to integrate a wireless backhaul. Also love the design, much more modern looking and much easier to place than traditional router shapes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic upgrade Finally upgraded from my AC router and I’m amazed at how much of my home internet connection I wasn’t accessing over WiFi. Range is incredible. 6Ghz is a blessing to have in areas congested with 2.4Ghz and even 5Ghz bands. I’m a little sad there aren’t more 10gig ports but the one is appreciated for my home server. Always been a fan of Nighthawk routers but could never justify the upgrade until now. Hoping my RS700 takes me through the next decade or longer if I’m being honest. However, there are things I think could be better - parental controls is a subscription - Why? Many Armor features are available in third party apps that are much cheaper - although the one year trial helps but not by much. And my biggest gripe so far is the lack of more advanced customizations to the router. I get that the router simplifies a lot of things for the users but the lack of advanced customizations in the mobile app and dashboard is disappointing. That being said none of my cons are deal breakers. Get one if you can afford it.

The automagic band management and security is stellar and it correctly identified most of my devices so it was easy to name all devices on my network. I could go on and on about this router. The range is stellar and pretty consistent out to distance.

Unfortunately, the one they gave me was weak for the 1G service they were providing and it barely worked in the far reaches of my home. When the RS700 arrived, it was quick and simple to setup. The app is very user friendly. Not only are my speeds closer to the 1G service I’m paying for over WiFi, but it reaches everywhere in my home. I’m happy with the Guest WiFi ability, being able to check current speeds in the app and having the shield service block malware. I’ve had the router for over a week and have no problems with it whatsoever so ever. Best upgrade I’ve ever made. Works perfectly with my 1G fiber service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good hardware, software This router replaced a Cradlepoint router which served well 15 years. It has really five ethernet ports plus the internet port. Connection and setup are done with software which is excellent and efficient, but incapable of reporting some incorrect peripheral equipment settings. Failure to check one printer for auto connection, which was set last I knew, led to that printer not being identifiable on the network. I called customer service and, after a very long wait, I got a tech who was worth the wait and his own in gold. He and I talked about the issues i had already checked and then he got me to check the printer network settings which I knew had to be right. Boom. I was wrong. I like this device, the software and the customer service.

I tested wifi speeds i was getting over 900Mbps and my service cap is 1,000Mbps (1Gbps) which is outstanding for over wifi. I wish I had a better internet provider to see just how fast it can be. I also love the 10Gb ethernet port plus an additional 4 ports for hard wiring.

I've tried extenders with my old router but never could get a good signal for my TV. I was still hesitant to connect it right away because I wasn't ready to deal with any issues that might come up. Finally decided to tackle it twwo days later and to my delight, the set-up was quick and easy. No issues at all. I have added several smart devices to my network over the past couple of years and they all seemed to connect seemlessly and I didn't have to mess with any of them. Switches, garage door, plugs, lights, echo's, etc. I just used the same SSID and password during set-up. Now I have strong wifi signal all throughout the house! Thank you Netgear!!

You wont be disappointed. The coverage is very good. I have at least 40 devices with no noticable reduction in speed. No buffering ever for my streaming services. Area coverage is also great. I have 6 tv sets spread over 3650 sq ft on three floors running with no extenders. This router is on the high side price wise, but as they say you get what you pay for!

I have a strong WiFi signal everywhere in my house. I even get a good signal on my back deck or front yard. All my devices that I have hardwired with Ethernet cable show major improvement from my previous Nighthawk router. I almost went with the 6G netgear router because it was on sale. I am glad I didn't. It was easy to install and pair it with my Modem.

The reach this has is insane to say the least. Everything connected has a strong and secure connection. Absolutely LOVE the app, convenience at your fingertips! It made setting up the router a breeze and the user ability is bar none! If you're on the fence, don't be, this is worth every penny!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice router but upload speed problems I have had this router about a week now, it replaced a WIFI 6 router of another brand. The internet service is 1 gig fiber provided by C-Spire. The router was easy to setup, looks nice on the shelf and covers our 3,000 sq.ft. very well. But there is an issue. I have measured the internet service consistently at 900 or above both download and upload. But the Nighthawk app measures it at the same download speed but the upload speed around 500. On WiFi a few feet from the router using either an iPhone 16 Pro Max or 2023 MacBook Pro, The download speed is around 900 but the upload speed is only 50-60. So far I have had 3 extended phone calls with Netgear. They have loaded a beta firmware version, run an exhaustive diagnostic and had me run a number of speed tests under different conditions. All without an improvement. They are confident that the problem can be solved with an updated firmware and say that they are working on it. I want this to work because I like everything else about the router so I'm going to give it a few more days and if they don't have a fix, I guess I will be looking for a replacement of another brand.

My house is 1970 sqft and frankly the NETGEAR Nighthawk BE19000 Tri-Band WiFi 7 Router does an excellent job on coverage. My old setup was lagging and would never get the full 1Gig internet speed. From the furthest point in my home I still get 250-300mb. When closer to the router I get anywhere from 600-950mb. Hands down better performance than my old router. Easy setup as well. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Issues with smart devices disappeared with this router It's only been one day, but this router solved all of the wireless issues I was experiencing with my smart devices. Sonos, Echo, Cync lights, tv and thermostat were all glitchy because the router provided by my internet provider was not up to the task. Now everything works flawlessly and no more lag. I have a 2 level 3300 sf house and I get a strong connection in all corners of the home. If you run a lot of smart devices in your home, this is the router for you. Yes, it's expensive, but I'm confident it will meet my needs for years to come and before I wasn't getting my money's worth out of my smart devices. Set up was pretty easy - took about 30 minutes from unboxing to finish.

My oldest can now get reliable signal other end of house along with being a floor lower as well. Plus with having 5 xbox s/x's playing c.o.d. mutuplayer on same network, handles all the connects with no issues. Unfortunately I do not have any devices that can utilize the 6g channel other than cellphones (the new xbox s/x's stayed with 5g instead of using new tech). It seemed when every one was on with old router, one or two of us would loose connection to our game mid match. No issues no.

Was super simple to set up with all of my existing devices. Speeds and coverage are unbelievable. I have 2 gig service from my ISP, every speed test I have done has been over that 2 gig mark. The coverage is unbelievable as well. Not a dead spot in our 3,000 sq ft house.

Adding the new Night Hark 7 router, the power to each device raised incredibly, and the channel dedicated to my work computer is smokin fast and consistent. Matched to my Xfinity high speed internet, this router delivers such an obvious improvement it’s unbelievable! Love it!

The setup is easy to ease and multiple devices do not slow down any with the speed of it. Worth the money spent on it if you require fast speeds and ability to connect multiple devices.

My network was already great, but the processor and uplift I've seen from this product is insane. The overall quality increase both in my LAN and WAN experience is great and was worth the price tag for me. Glad I upgraded and am future proofed for a while at this point.

Would have rather had the browser option available up front to do the setup. Now that it is setup, it's been great. Had about 8 wireless devices set up there immediately. NICE.

We had a large home before we sold it six years ago and it was a wonderful unit. We moved it into our new home and had some issues with the signal not because of the equipment but because of our Internet service, I was getting on my Wi-Fi downstairs a signal strength of about 150 to 200 MB per second . Since putting in the new Nighthawk, my Wi-Fi connection speed is bordering 1000 MB a second. Thanks for creating such a superior product.

I was deciding between mesh, or a high end router. I chose the nighthawk and I am really pleased! WiFi range is perfect. My WiFi is actually giving me the speed my lan cables provide. If you are using the modem/router from your isp, do yourself a favor and add this router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great router! This is a pricey router but it is worth it, 100%! I love the sleek design because it is not very wide and doesn’t take up very much space. I have 400 mbps subscription on fiber and this router is giving me 671, so even more than what i’m signed up for. By buying this router you will be futureproofing and not have to buy a new router for the foreseeable future as WiFi 7 hasn’t even been certified as a standard.

Shortly after getting it up and running I had no problems running my Quest 3 via airlink to my hard wired laptop. Zero latency and plenty of coverage throughout my house. Highly recommend router!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great range I tried a mesh wifi 7 system and it caused all sort of interference throughout my house and did not deliver the quality of internet speed I expected. This device did deliver. Apart from cutting out the interference with my other devices the range and speed was nearly 1gb (870mbps) from one end of the house to another. My former dead spot in our master bedroom no longer a dead spot. It provided range and reasonable speed in our second floor as well. Close to 150mbps. I still opted for an extender add-on for the second floor and saw 500mbps so it definitely boosted the signal. I’m very with this router and at a much cheaper price than other mesh systems I’m glad I returned it for this device.

So you still get a speed increase even without using wifi 7. I would highly recommend this for both range and speed as my range has doubled! Overall i am overly satisfied with this device and would recommend it to other or buy it again.

I upgraded to this from the Netgear RAXE500 mainly due to the 10 gig port in case I ever upgrade to more than 2.5 gig internet and to support my 10 gig LAN setup. I appreciate the longer range of both the 5GHz and 6GHz channels to the point where I am sticking with the 6GHz more often than before and the 5GHz channel covers my entire house now. The features I mainly use work with no issue on the latest firmware (V1.0.7.66_2.0.72 as of this review), with Address Reservation being very snappy thanks to the extra ram and email logging working out of the box. Thanks to this, I do not regret purchasing this router.

I would have preferred have more instructions in about installation in the box rather than simply being told to do it all with my cell phone, but so be it. I had some difficulty installing it but that likely was as much due to my inexperience with my cell phone rather than the installation itself. However, on contacting support, I was serviced by a very helpful and patient member of the support staff. Overall, I think this is a great product.

Many of our smart home bridges and appliances require the 2.4ghz band and we had relied on a much older device to support these items. Our internet speeds suffered on our newer devices which connected to 5ghz. The nighthawk wifi7 router made this possible so we now get ~550 speeds from spectrum. Only had it running a short time but expect the kind of reliability we have experienced with our other NETGEAR equipment from over the years!!

My latest Surface laptops have the 802.11ax WiFi protocol, and I do measure 1.2 Gbps download speeds in the 5 GHz band with the laptop and router in the same room. Comcast provider. Nice bonus. Using the 6 GHz band is in the future. The router automatic selection of WiFi band (2.4 or 5 GHz) works well, but band selection (and WiFi speed) can change day to day when the laptop and router are in different rooms. Quite satisfied with the new router.

The unit is a bit high priced, but I figure if it works and covers me for the next 5-6year, not too bad. After installing I was able to get 950-975 up and download with this router. The wifi side was great. I am pulling 500-600 down and 375-425 upload from my cell phone and other newer electronics. Set up itself was pretty easy. It was getting some of my older wifi things connected. I had to end up separating out the bands because when the bands were combined (how it is from the start) they would not connect. After getting the bands separated things connected much easier and the 2.4GHz band pulls double of what I was getting before. I am glad I ended up just with the router and not the Orbi system for me. This router unit covered my whole home. Over 2500 sqft and even at the furthest point in the house to the router, I still get full upload and download on 5GHz band. At this time, I dont have anything that will connect to the 6GHz band yet, so cannot say how well that works. Overall I am very happy with the router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Router Worthy of Dethroning My Nighthawk R7000P This thing is a beast. It will be the successor to my Nighthawk R700OP which will also compliment my CM2000 modem. Very expensive but a 100% improvement on the RAXE500 which I purchased over a year ago but returned it because it was a nightmare with ridiculous wings that couldn't even lock into place, this router has succeeded where there RAXE500 failed. So much more stable, not high maintenance like the RAXE500. I live in a 100 year old house with old-school construction and the shape is ranch style and this router hits from one end of the house to the other, punching through all the thick walls. I have a gig-speed package with Xfinity and I can easily hit 1100-1250 mops on wired and wireless. There's only one LAN 10G port but that's fine because I can just get an unmanaged 2.5Gbe switch for more devices down the road. Setup was a breeze because thankfully Netgear had enough wisdom to not deviate from the design of the R7000P's login page. Excellent product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment This router blows away the Mesh WIFI6 which I have been using since it come on the market. My speeds are consistently 1100 to 1400 mbps. I would highly recommend making the upgrade to WIFI7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an Upgrade! I purchased the RS700 to replace a Netgear AC1750 router. With the old router I was seldom able to achieve over 200 Mbps over Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 5) and usually was limited to around 150 Mbps when only 2 rooms away. With the RS700 I receive over 550 Mbs at -41 dB with the same devices at the same distance. Unfortunately, I am unable to use the enhanced 6E and Wi-Fi 7 options since none of my current devices have that capability, but this router is clearly ready when I do upgrade those devices. Easy to setup, great in use, worth the cost.

Has all the same features in nighthawk app to remote control via mobile device. So far so good on performance. I only have a few items of feedback: 1. Could the price be lower maybe if it didn’t include the armor year subscription? More flexible to most folks 2. (And this is why I went 4 stars) I bought this device solely for the 2.5gb port as I recently updated to 2gb fiber. It would be nice to see multiple ports on future models. Additionally, I can’t seem to disable WiFi 6ghz banded network which I’d like to do since right now none of my WiFi devices support it. Should be able to disable WiFi networks that are not in use. 3. I Wish it could be oriented horizontally feel like it would be less imposing mounted to the wall if it could. Aside from these minor nitpicks the unit is working as expected. Does not feel warm to the touch either like the AX8 used to get. Now we pivot to the longevity test

They never fail to impress me with their lightning-fast and reliable wireless capabilities for all my wireless devices. I always look forward to the newest innovative routers and mesh systems they offer every year. The RS700 router was very easy to setup via the Nighthawk app and it's up and running within 10 minutes. For those who hunger for lightning-fast internet speeds for gaming or streaming, it has to be the Netgear RS700.

I house is two story 2400 sq.ft. with 50+ devices, this router alone can handle all of it without droping any of my devices of the network for IP reservation like alot of older router. All in all is a great improvement from my older RAX200.

Giving the RS700 the same SSID the transfer was transparent and all my devices connected up just fine. I have Gigabit service via Xfinity and there were also zero issues with that part of the setup. I have had the router a week or so now and everything is running very well. No problems. Zero complaints. A good buy and I would do it all over again.

My network has not been updated in a long time and none of my equipment was 10Gig rated. This router has been a nice upgrade so far. The signal coverage is enough for the house and all of my wifi devices connected with no problem. I like the easy to access the WPS button on the front. I was able to add a netgear wifi extender and it blended in seamlessly to cover my shop space detached from the house. I’m waiting on my 10Gig network cards right now to finally test speeds over 1Gig in my house. I bought this router directly from amazon the next day I found this router on netgears website with a 10% discount. Make sure to check their site before making the purchase. Amazon did not price match netgears pricing so I had to use the return process to get the best price.

Performance on most devices connected to it are now sub-par in performance. No, they don't need replacing too!! Response from laptop, Rokus, Echoes are now as good as any dialup modem can provide!!!! I HATE THIS PRODUCT!!!! I'M SICK OF THE POOR LATENCY!!!! The world is not ready for WiFi 7... your version, anyway! Also, the Active Armor scan confuses and prolongs the setup of all devices.

Stream my TV’s. Connected devices include doorbell, cameras, security system, smart light switches, garage door opener, etc. I consider this a very good purchase. I have purchased more than one router but this one stands out as one of the best. However a tad pricey but all Wifi 7 routers are.

I made the rs700 the primary router, which I've attached the orbi mother router too. It's a good thing I still have the orbi because Apples airplay does not work with the rs700.

It holds true to the Netgear Nighthawk name for quality that we all expect, there’s no fluff added to the description, it does what it says it will. A fantastic piece of hardware, in a much more appealing form factor than previous models. The firmware is also what you’d expect, user friendly, responsive, and well laid out. Do miss the days of paper instructions and not scan this QR code and have to download an app but these are the days of an app for everything. I use NextDNS so the parental controls built in I am not using, and they are an additional cost which is a bit ridiculous considering I paid over $700 for the router - parental controls should be a standard feature. My old ASUS WIFI 6 router had the parental controls built-in, just a shame to see NETGEAR following the corporate scum route and try to DLC standard router features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blazing fast coverage I just upgraded my Netgear nighthawk AC1900 to the new Netgear nighthawk RS700. I also recently upgraded my internet speed to 1gbps speed. The reason I upgraded my router was due to the fact that the AC1900 caps @ 1 gbps speed. The RS700 caps @ 19gbps and a range of 3500sqft. The ac1900 on a speed test could range from 80mbps to 200mbps. The RS700 is a constant 800mbps speed when I test it. I also like the flexibility of grouping devices in the router. I can set parameters for my children and they know at 10pm the WiFi will auto pause until morning time. I also like the Netgear protection that will assess connected devices for threats like malware etc. in summary: if your looking for the latest, fastest gaming and streaming router on the market. The Netgear RS700 will not disappoint.

It was legacy, no longer supported. 4 connections were no longer sufficient here. My home WIFI connections became unreliable. It was time to spend money for an upgrade. I bought my router locally. The price, plus the retailer's customer appreciation rewards, was similar to Amazon. Unfortunately, I found both NETGEAR's Android and IPhone apps frustrating. They would not complete a router setup. I instead used the browser based setup from my desktop, which worked smoothly. I get 97% signal strength in all four corners of my house on both floors. Neither I nor my wife have any complaints with this router. Once, the setup was completed. I am yet to walk the neighborhood to analyze my signal's range. The jury remains out on the Bifdefender software. It seems like overkill, duplicating much of the phone security I already use.

What I got was an absolute beast that covers the entire house and out past our yard, at excellent speed. Our internet connection speed increased over the ISP unit, likely due to a much faster routing engine. We have a mix of 802.11a-ax units, slowly upgrading those that can to 802.11be. Everything has just worked.

I have spent hours of my own time alone and with tech support trying to get it to work. I just gave up. They are asking me to perform tasks that should not be asked of the average consumer. Oh, and since it wasn’t installed until after Christmas it is not eligible for a refund. Basically i have a pretty black paperweight. Be careful with this.

All 6Ghz capable devices disconnect repeatedly, and only become stable when 6Ghz band is turned off. Tech support is no help. Maybe a firmware fix will come, but for now this thing is half baked.

NetGear has really stepped up their game with this new router, I can have 200 devices on this router at one time with no lag, plus a 5 gig hardline port that gives new meaning to watching TV shows and movies With our main TV hardline through the 5 gig port. If you’re looking for the best router on the market, go with the Netgear Nighthawk BE19000. Netgear, customer service, equipment, and warranty's are top-notch. I wish all companies worked like Netgear.

I'm delighted with the performance and range. I would highly recommend it.

I finally decided to just try what NETGEAR has to offer and I’ve been blown away with this router. From the security to the insanely fast speed, it’s been worth the money. There’s no router I’ve ever used that even comes close to how perfect this router is. Don’t try to be cheap about it. Just get the RS7000!

It is also blazingly fast, and simple to manage through the Nighthawk app. Excellent throughput with low latency. I don't usually comment on this aspect, but this "black monolith" is cool looking with its interactive display. Plus the RS700 will be receiving a Wi-Fi 7 firmware upgrade in the future.

I'm currently in the process of trying to pay for an upgraded system. Not having dependable wireless service with my job and lifestyle is a no-go. I've had several nighthawk routers in the past with great experience as to why I felt this one would be an even better product but it was actually the reverse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing fast router With the recent upgrade in ISP to a 2Gbps fiber connection, the ISP provided router was unable to capitalize on the possible WIFI speeds available. I researched for a week on different routers to look for and NETGEAR has typically always been my go to in the past. This router is on the expensive side but the power it has and ease of use of the features is incredible. Boosted my WIFI speed from 500mbps with the ISP provided router to 1700mbps and allows for much more smooth distribution to all my devices.

The pod was only producing up to 2.5 gig speeds with Wi-Fi 7 capable devices. It would randomly drop service and lag as well. We recently purchased a nighthawk RS 700 and it has been worth every penny. Wi-Fi speeds are faster and more control over network also service has not dropped since installation of nighthawk RS700. We were concerned with the installation with quantum fiber ONT but it has been a seamless transition just plug and play no need to do transparent bridge with network.

I instantly started searching online for a good router. I ended up buying this one. The range is a huge upgrade from my internet provider, I can reach the entire house. My firestick before was 4 bars, is now 5 bars on WiFi, I have 123 devices connected to it now. And it’s still running like a champ!! I tried to push devices to see if could. And it’s rocking it! My wish is another 200 square feet, so when working on dirt track car in garage I can get WiFi out there. It reached the garage, and connects but just on the edge of it.But I’m not complaining by any means. 2 story house here, everything inside is strong and never drops.

My up speed went from 432 to 845 and download from 520 to 1057 well worth the price and I won’t have to worry about upgrading for quite sometime. I upgraded to this new TriBand WiFi 7 router. With faster internet speeds available, this new router takes my WiFi connection and speed to another level. With WiFi connection to a PS5, TVs, laptops, tablets, phones and Ring camera system, my reliability does not skip a beat. This is what upgrading is all about and I can honestly say I am 100% satisfied with the results. If you were thinking of upgrading and your house has high data usage, it is definitely worth it. I am happy I made the jump. Makes me wonder what how NetGear ORBI router platform performs.

This netgear nighthawk rs700s worked right out of box with android app first time setup was completely done from unboxing to fully setup on all bans with firmware update in little as 15mins that's fast. I'm getting same range on 6ghz wifi7 as I get on 5ghz wifi 6e. This thing is a beast. Ok so you want to know what I don't like well I wish it had more wifi options I normally like asus routers the options are alot but again I had 2 of there high end routers die on me so yeah. Netgear nighthawk doesn't have external antennas I thought it be a problem but it's not works just fine range is great even 6ghz band

It was easy to set up using the app, and equally easy to tweak using the web interface. I've owned a series of high-end Netgear WiFi routers, and this one is hands-down the best I've ever had on my home network. Highly recommended.

Runs on 3 wireless bands or you can choose smart connect, which automatically chooses which band is optimal for your wifi device. Wifi 7 is slight upgrade to wifi 6E. The 6Ghz network is the fastest when you are closer to the router with the fewest obstructions around the router. I have about 15 devices connected via fiber network and have no issues with speed or stability. The back of the wifi router includes a small number of ethernet ports, including a LAN aggregation port for multiple networks to combine together as one faster network. Overall, it's a good wifi router with many features packed into a relatively small box.

Adding a remote building and having additional people connecting to the Wi-Fi my existing Nighthawk router was getting overloaded. Setup was fairly easy as I kept the same SSID's and 2 mesh Extenders (Nighthawk X6). The Nighthawk app allowed me to turn off Smart Connect. My latency issues are gone and my speeds are 30% faster. Overall I'm pleased with the device.

I was so impressed with the increase in range that I purchased another for use in another part of my home solely as an access point. Perhaps that's overkill, but the hand-off from one to the other as I move through my place is seamless. I'm always getting great throughput. Orbis might have been another option, but I have a CAT 7 wired backbone installed in my place, so I use wired connections as much as possible for security. When I use WiFi I want equivalent performance, and the RS700 provides it. Highly recommended.

Definitely needs some improvement. Wi-Fi speeds close to the router match my gigabit internet - 0.5% @ 960-970 mbps. But connection can be unstable at times.

Wanting to upgrade from a Verizon Router that’s supposed to be the best. However, the best never really worked. I went to the Nighthawk and with the extender I have the best upload and download speeds that I’ve ever had in the house. I still have the Orbi hooked up as well and use that but NETGEAR outperforms any other products out there

Oh and did I say… Superfast. It increased my overall network speeds to their 1G potential for wired devices and wireless devices to rated limits. I’ve always bought netgear and this router here has proven I’m not wrong in doing so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied with the RS700S I have read all the reviews that state how easy it is to setup the RS700S. That was not my case. I wanted to setup the router with the web browser interface but it forced me to start with the mobile app. I wanted to have a separate SSID for each band because that was how my old router was configured so after the mobile app setup the router I switched to the web browser and setup 3 separate SSIDs, however the router did not see the SSIDs that I setup and still was broadcasting the default SSID from the mobile app. I reset the router and started over. I am not sure but what I tried on the 2nd reset of the router was to disable Smart Connect in the mobile app before switching to the web browser and then setting up the SSIDs and that worked. The second issue was with Netgear Armor. I was blocking the update of my IPTV playlists. It identified this app as being unsecure. I didn’t know how to stop it from blocking that app so I just disabled Netgear Armor. The third issue was that I have to cycle power to the router before the mobile app or web browser will connect. This makes the mobile app pretty much useless for remote access. Also I have never been able to get the Speedtest of the mobile app to work. That being said, this router is a beast. I don’t notice and difference in the range of this router when compared to my old R8500, but the speed increased by 100 mbps. My ISP provides 500 mbps service. My R8500 would get from mid to high 400’s. The RS700S gets mid to high 500’s. This is with the same cable modem so the only thing that changed was the router. I only have 1 device that uses the 6g band and I have had no issues with that. The 6g band seems to be stable. All in all, I am happy with my purchase. I gave it 4 stars because of my setup issues.

My last router was a Linksys and the NETGEAR RS700 has increased our internet speed significantly!! We have around 52 devices(Ring cameras, thermostats, iPads, iPhones, smart TVs, Xbox, PS5, laptops, dehumidifier, air conditioners, washer, Nest smoke/CO detectors, Keurig, Alexa) and have had no problems or issues with coverage or slow speeds. The price is expensive upfront but I feel you get what you pay for and this purchase is so worth the money! Easy setup by keeping my previous network name. Netgear needs to release a companion Wi-Fi 7 based mesh extender ASAP for it though so that larger homes beyond 3500sqft or with dead zones can leverage it to get better Wi-Fi coverage. Also the overzealous use of subscriptions for basic features like traffic monitoring is a very poor choice on Netgear’s part. That should be built-in and local anyways, not something that is charged extra for, especially for a high-end, premium router like this.

I can truly say I have not been disappointed with it's performance . I have no problems with coverage 2,500sq with excellent speed , streaming and gaming no problems, I would recommend this router, technical support great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RS700 Powerful WiFi 7 in a slick design I was looking for a black normal looking WiFi and Netgear RS700 was it. It's fanless which is a plus. 10 gig LAN/WAN port. Easy setup. Mobile App is clean and easy. I've replaced two mesh for just one as the coverage is amazing. Setup and management of the RS700 are relatively straightforward, even for users with limited technical expertise. Netgear's intuitive interface provides easy access to various settings and features, ensuring smooth operation and customization according to specific requirements. 1 year of free Armor/Bitdefender. The nice thing is you can install Bitdefender on all of you devices for free. I wish the renewal would be cheaper than $100. Cons: 4x1 gig ethernet ports instead of 2.5 gig would have been better at that price. No MLO right now. Parental protection is a paid services.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slightly disappointed I had bought an RS700S several months ago and was happy with it so when my daughter got 1gbps fiber and was only getting mid 500’s I decided to buy her an RS700S thinking she would get her full 1gbps download speeds. I setup the router and updated the firmware to version 1.0.7.86 and had issues. My download speeds were unstable fluctuating between 100-800 mbps and upload speeds were in the low single digits. I had similar issues with this version of the firmware on my router so I downgraded the firmware to version 1.0.7.82 and that fixed the stability and upload speed issues but I was disappointed in that the download speeds were in the low 800’s. I checked the hardwired speeds using the Speedtest on the QOS tab and it was receiving the full 1gbps but wasn’t producing that on WiFi. Still it was better than the ISP supplied router so we kept it. The other thing was the WiFi was weak on the kids side of the house. The distance was about the same as to the master bedroom but where we were getting mid 700’s there we were only getting mid 200’s in the kids room. I don’t know what is in those walls but it was a WiFi killer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Upgrade Recently upgraded routers from Nighthawk R9000 to RS700 (both bought from Amazon). Old Router had dual band 2g and sporadic on 5g, it was good but didn't always penetrate WiFi through all parts of the house, which is not a mansion by any stretch of the imagination. New router's 3 band tech (2g/5g/6g with 7g coming?) almost doubles both WiFi range and download speeds, with great coverage all over the home and property. Connection to about 20 devices was flawless using wizard on phone app... (laptops, tablets, phones, printer, Alexa, thermostats, TV, smartbed, etc.). I'd give it a 4.5 rating if I could - 1 small ding because it won't connect to my 2g 'personal' 5-in-one weather station unless I disable the preferred SmartConnect feature on the router. Overall, satisfied, and will continue to buy and recommend NetGear products. Oh, visually, love the tower config vs. the 'spider leg' antennas, but best feature besides the connectivity is the quick button push to turn off all the blinking lights....clean non-intrusive look.

I am coming from a Asus ax11000 and this is a great improvement. The one thing I would like to see improved would be to add DNS caching. Other than that, the router is able to easily handle 40 devices with (We have Amazon echos, Fire sticks, ring cameras, cell phones, tablets, PS5 and xboxs, smart thermostats attached to a brinks system, Samsung dishwasher-washing machine - dryer, and a few PC's).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Fast and Affordable I had been considering upgrading from our previous NETGEAR Nighthawk Wi-Fi 5 Tri-Band router for a while and had considered a mesh system but our home is not large enough to justify the expense. After a lot of reading and consideration of alternatives I decided to go with the NETGEAR RS700, and I'm very happy with my decision. Even without the Wi-Fi 7 firmware update (to be released within the next couple of months) this new router is providing a significant improvement in connectivity and speed. We use to use a NETGEAR AX6 Extender to supplement the older Nighthawk but don’t need it with the new Nighthawk. We increased our throughput from under 100 Mbs to over 1 Gbs throughout our home and now we consistently receive the Internet download speed that we pay our ISP for, also throughout our home. Setup was easy and relatively quick. I'm anxious to get the Wi-Fi 7 firmware update and see what further performance improvements we will receive. Completely satisfied.

IOT devices kept trying to run a higher bandwidth than they could handle. This was very frustrating! My Nighthawk found and automatically configured these devices for the correct bandwidth. I have used it for a week with no need to reset, and I am getting faster Internet speeds on my WiFi devices. Well worth the money. Problem solved.

Tech support couldn’t help. I replaced it with this router and my speed tests are now 900-1000mb. Also, SIGNIFICANTLY better and further coverage with this ONE router than FIVE eeros 6 pro routers strategically placed around my property. The software is also great and easy to use.

After calling NexGear was unable to connect the AC750 to the router but found that after finding the best place for the house for the EAX15 I have all of my 29 devices connected with good signal strength and have significant improvement with my cell phone on 6G. Would recommend the RS700S & EAX15 for those that do not need the additional cost of the Orbi 970.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had high hopes for this WiFi 7 router I ordered a NETGEAR Nighthawk BE19000/RS700 WiFi 7 router directly from NETGEAR. I read several reviews and they were rated mostly good about its features and fast wired and wireless connection speeds. I needed to replace an older TP-link router that has degraded WiFi speeds and often times disconnected on my 40 Wi-Fi devices. The new NETGEAR router came by FedEx less than a week after ordering. I setup the router using the Netgear app but then right away the WiFi was disconnecting from my iPhone 15 Pro Max and then it stopped connecting to it. All my other WiFi devices, such as the Ring cameras, won't connect either. The wired connections were working good but WiFi was not working. I also updated the router to the latest firmware, turned-off SmartConnect, rebooted the router, but all of this made no difference as WiFi won't work properly. I ended up returning the router for a full refund as it was defective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good router tinted by Armor After setting up the router with the app, while all my existing devices connect fine to the router, some of my apps (iRobot, Rinnai Central, and occasionally Teams) cannot connect to their servers even though I get very stable internet connection. Turned out it is caused by Armor which got turned on when I was setting this up. The problem, however, is I cannot turn Armor off in the app, and there is no other way to turn it off. I had to reset the router and set it up through the web interface instead, where Armor is not turned on to begin with. And now everything works fine. So here is the problem: this router comes with Armor subscription for a year and it is a total waste since it interferes with my app operations. Maybe not everyone runs into it, but if you do you might need to reset the router and lose all your settings. The web setup interface though is not that great. One of the steps is to set the SSID, and once you confirm that step, you are disconnected because the SSID has changed. Sure that makes sense. But the next time you connect and try to reach the web interface, the setup steps start from scratch, and occasionally it malfunctions in a way where all the texts are blank even though the controls / buttons are still displayed. But otherwise it is a solid router. I came from RAX70 and needed a multi-gig router after upgrading my cable internet. With RAX70 I couldn't get past 800Mb, with this I am getting >1.2Gb easy on just wifi 6. I live in a townhouse with 3 stores. 5GHz signal is solid all over. Speed drops to about 600Mb at the furthest point. Settings are fairly similar to RAX70. Some of the promised functionalities (high priority SSID, say) are not there yet, supposedly will be in firmware update later this year or early next. Looking forward to those, but even without those the router works fine. I am waiting for my BE200 to ship in November to jump into wifi 7 just for the sake of it. Would be nice for it to have a wall mount accessory. I would rather mount it high up on a wall than among the clutter on my shelve. I made one with a few brackets, works fine. Good thing it has 2 M4 screw holes at the bottom. In short, please stop tinting your solid product with sloppy BitDefender software, and please make your mobile app work to disable Armor.

I had delayed changing the router because I was dreading the amount of time it would take to set everything back up and connect it. Very surprised, however when I purchased nighthawk RS700, and found that by using the same network name and password all of my devices connected seamlessly immediately! Bye, for the easiest install process I’ve ever had in the range of the router exceeds what was possible from my network which blows my mind. Fantastic device and although it’s early, it stays anywhere near the experience. I’ll be a very happy customer. the setting from the app seem a little limited, but I have not poked around the website yet.

The price you pay is due to the technology not being the standard yet. I paid the premium because I can but if you wait there will be lower prices and more options will be readily available in the near future. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blazing fast speed I just upgraded my Netgear nighthawk AC1900 to the new Netgear nighthawk RS700. I also recently upgraded my internet speed to 1gbps speed. The reason I upgraded my router was due to the fact that the AC1900 caps @ 1 gbps speed. The RS700 caps @ 19gbps and a range of 3500sqft. The ac1900 on a speed test could range from 80mbps to 200mbps. The RS700 is a constant 800mbps speed when I test it. I also like the flexibility of grouping devices in the router. I can set parameters for my children and they know at 10pm the WiFi will auto pause until morning time. I also like the Netgear protection that will assess connected devices for threats like malware etc. in summary: if your looking for the latest, fastest gaming and streaming router on the market. The Netgear RS700 will not disappoint.

There could be two CONS to it though, 1. is the size of it (maybe the size of small vase) and 2. the setup through the app is fairly simple but with my experience it had bugged out and starting over was a slight issue (but fixable).

I upgraded to the RS700 and my range was extended more. Not quite as far as needed for my exterior WiFi cameras, so I had to still utilize my old google mesh system. Download speed is still awesome. Great router, but a little pricy.

I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and have personally used NETGEAR products at home without ANY issues. Since I know the product personally and have used their tech support I suggest only NETGEAR to my clients because they work like nothing else!! I love NETGEAR so much I purchased stock shares for my retirement portfolio!! I suggest their products to all my clients!!

This one is a GAME CHANGER for a house around 2000 SF. It's incredibly easy to set up, about as close to plug and play as it gets, the range and signal strength is fantastic and the app to run all of it is one of the best apps I've ever had to deal with. Netgear knocked it out of the park with this one!

I bought this a month ago to replace the dated and pathetic Xfinity all in one router/modem. I have this paired with a Hitron Coda56 2.5 Gbps. OUr house is very small only around 900 SQ feet and I thought the coverage would be better, I do have it mounted on a pretty low shelf in the back bedroom / office. Still seeing speeds of like 4-600Mbps even at the far end of my house or out in the garage.

I wanted to get away from a mesh system, and I wanted a product that could cover a large area, support many devices, and have all the latest features. I also wanted to stick with a Netgear product as they have provided good results for me over the years. This provided a significant improvement over my old Orbi system. I have only had it 1 week so far, but I am very happy with it. Setup was a breeze with the app.

I am maxing out my gigabit internet connection over wireless. Extremely fast, easy to set up, no issues. Just make sure to upgrade your wireless cards as well to take advantage of the speed!

I purchased the router because I have a lot of smart home devices and wanted to make sure I was good for the future. A HUGE flaw with the router is if you go in through the web interface and name all your devices, it will randomly change the names to other names you have so there is no way to go in and see if a particular device is connected or not without searching through for the MAC address. This is a very unacceptable bug in this supposedly top of the line router especially due to its cost. I am considering returning the router and buying another brand since if this simple feature has slipped through the cracks, there is no telling what else is not up to par

I upgraded from my old workhorse Nighthawk Dual-Band router running on the WiFi 5 standard and I have noticed a stark difference in performance over my old router. I love the setting to have a single network listed for all 3 bands and each device selects the one it needs. I wish it had maybe one or two more Ethernet ports and maybe even an SFP port like my old router did, but I overall like it so far.

The router itself is well designed and the performance simply matches it's sleek design which is phenomenal. So far, it's a solid and well designed device that covers the entire house with stable speeds and coverage. I would highly recommend the RS700 for anyone who is looking to upgrade to WiFi 7.

The doorbell cameras pop up quickly and the router plays well with the extender we have (is NETGEAR). We have a whole lot of connected devices, smart home and entertainment mostly, and everything works super good!

I purchased this after researching routers for the best performance over distance, as I wanted to maintain a single non-mesh router while being able to support my entire household. The research seems to have been accurate as I have yet to find any spot in the house that any of the 3 bands haven’t been able to reach. Not worth deducting a star but I don’t like that NETGEAR strongly pushes towards using the phone app so much. I get that for tech novices it might make sense but I like to make advanced setting tweaks that the app either doesn’t make easy or allow at all. I also dislike that the router wants to default to a unified SSID, as I find that seems to create compatibility problems for some devices and I always create band-specific SSIDs when setting up any router. I do appreciate that it’s as customizable as it is. In particular, being able to change the IP address scheme and define a custom subnet mask which allowed me to keep my previously assigned IP settings from my old non-netgear router to keep from reconfiguring devices. Overall I’m extremely satisfied with everything and would recommend.

Router advertising clearly gives the impression it is VPN capable. This is very misleading. The trouble shooting staff finally said it was not compatible with router-based VPN. Other than that, it is a great router. It connected seamlessly with most IOT devices and those that failed to connect just need to be disconnected and reconnected. If it wasn't for the misleading VPN information I would rate this a 5 star. With the amount of sensitive data I deal with a router-based VPN gives me more security. Having to install the VPN at the device level is outdated and cumbersome. NetGear makes great router, they need to modify their operating systems to allow for router-based VPNs.

Description: About 4 years ago, I was recommended a Nighthawk router by my cable service tech as I was working from home and needed a reliable wi-fi connection. After 4 years, it was time to upgrade to keep my security up to date and to support all the wi-fi products in the house (and garage). The RS700 was easy to set up and has been working great. I really liked having the ability to rename my network so I didn't need to reset/reboot all my gadgets. I like the sleek design and the connections have never been better. I highly recommend the RS700 for anyone needing to upgrade.

After ensuring that the problem was not with my service provider, I had lost service late Saturday night, I called the number for support after setting up the new router. I was having some difficulty in connecting the router to the network. The technician that I spoke with was easy to work with and knowledgeable, easy to work with and quite patient from product registration through resolving issues that I was having with getting the product installed.

I sent back Spectrum router and I bought a NETGEAR WIFI NETGEAR router RS700S and I glad I did. It is an amazing product. I do have the same speed of 1G wired on WIFI in any point of my home. I highly recommended.

Switching to a dub network off the RS700 works fine. I’ve demanded a replacement OR refund only to fall on deaf ears.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much improved over the Wifi 6 RAX120 The tower design is not only a more compact footprint, but the cooling design is vastly improved over the RAX120. Leveraging a unibody heat sync and working with natural heat induction the cooling performance should ensure better performance and longevity of sensitive components. From a hardware perspective this seems to be a big step in the right direction. The Nighthawk app needs a substantial update though, its still very laggy, and messy with functional organization. It has laggy authentication issues, and setup from one Nighthawk product to another should transfer all credentials and prior user settings over with the app– but it doesn't. Overall, I have over 50 devices connected to this router, and it seems to handle it well.

The router is in my office, then 2 more as access points in the attic at opposite ends of the house. They're also backup if the router has issues. I only use the Xfinity router (10.0.0.1) for internet to the 1st BE19000 which then distributes a different IP address to all my devices WWW.XXX.YYY.ZZZ. This provides an extra level of security (in my opinion), excellent WiFi coverage even to the basement, and great coverage outside to the front/back yards. Overkill, but fun for a SMPTE certified Cisco tech to play with... ;)

I pay for 1Gb internet from my ISP, I test on my iPhone 17 Pro Max at 1170Mbps, which is only scratching the surface of this router's capabilities. The range is amazing, as well. No where on my half acre of property do I NOT have a great signal, full coverage everywhere. I can't wait to see how it handles another 10-20 smart devices. I'm certain it won't even phase it.

After two weeks, I still haven't been able to figure out this issus. Don't get me wrong, the 2.4Gz signal is always up, but its hard to settle for the slower speed. If I am able to figure out the issue, this will be far and away the best router I've ever purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Internet of things We purchased this pair from BestBuy- the Nighthawk CM2500 modem and the Nighthawk 7 BE19000 router, not knowing compatibility other than reading reviews on what we should do. I am not a tech guy whatsoever so I wasn’t even sure I was doing it correctly. I was super frustrated without our old system crashing nonstop, binding, and working slow. At moments, it was like watching paint dry. The time wasted to “fix it” was infuriating because it always happened when it was the least convenient. In the past, I had to have people help me with it. This new system was crazy simple to hook up. Plug in the modem, call internet provider to activate it, plug in the router and followed the very clear instructions. Couldn’t have been simpler. Instantaneously, we had a night and day difference in speed and connectivity. Am I concerned that almost everything seems to be connected to Wi-Fi these days? -Absolutely. With multiple tv’s, the HEOS home audio, the security system, the light switches, garage door opener, computers, tablets, cell phones, the heavy appliances (furnace, water heater, refrigerator, etc.) all connect. They connected fast. They connected easily. Are these capable.?. Most definitely (Almost too much so). The streaming is snap fast and consistent. Time will tell if it’s reliable. We installed it in the attic to get it out of the living quarters and it works down three flights into the basement without an extender. It works in the garage so our vehicles get their updates without taking it to the dealer. At first, I thought the price was a bit steep, but given its performance so far- worth every penny. If it remains consistent as it is, it’ll be worth more for the peace of mind and stress free existence compared to that of our old system, let alone provider provided equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved My Network Problems I used a TP Link AXE75 for about 4 months until the 2.4GHz network stopped working. I purchased a TP Link mesh to replace it, as it advertised 200 connection capability. It quickly bogged down at about 120, and these were simple smart devices, not streaming platforms. So I returned it and decided to get the RS700S, as my luck with TP Link bad, and their tech service is non existent. Netgear answered my tech questions within hours of asking, so that made me decide to switch to them. This router is a beast. It is easy to set up. I even decided to buy two RS300's to extend my network to each side of my house, connecting them via Cat6 to the RS700. Since then, my friends have decided to go this route as well. This is the best setup for large amounts of smart devices, period. I have over 200 connected so far, split between the 3 routers, and never have any lag or delays in the smart devices. Best decision I made was to dump TPlink and go with Netgear. Thank you Netgear!

We are getting the full speed we pay for for the first time. I wish it was a little easier to set up and there more explicit written instructions as the automatic setup did not work for me: however, I was able to figure it out after some minor research. My system setup is not typical so this may not be the case for most people. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product thus far.

Couldn’t stream without buffeting, couldn’t send iMessages due to failures and web pages wouldn’t load at all. The cable technician checked everything and said it was fine, but the gateway router modem is the issue. Since setting up the Nighthawk router, my streaming issues have stopped entirely and my iPhone connectivity issues have vanished. Plus I get the latest in technology with better WiFi security versus the outdated provider WiFi gateway. So far I’m impressed and definitely a Nighthawk fan!

Just going in circles even though I have an extended hardware warranty support. Quite disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance, pleasant customer service It's rare to be able to set up a high performing internet ecosystem without jumping through a million hoops, having cables strewn across the floor throughout your home, and having an adapter or receiver in every other outlet and in every single device. This router however, does in fact achieve that. Setup is fairly easy and is definitely straightforward. The performance, which is all that really matters is fantastic. I was having issues with my internet in my apartment and was testing at about 15 Mbps despite paying for 1500 Mbps. I switched from the modem/router that my ISP had given me to this router hardwired to the NETGEAR CM3000 Modem and went from 14-20 Mbps to 1430 Mbps from one test to next. Very pleased with this purchase, and as a bonus, it looks nice enough to have on the back of the desk in my office and I don't feel like it needs to be hidden.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent upgrade to my home network I was running a Netgear Nighthawk x10 (R9000) which I have loved for years, but it was aging and I had to add a repeater to get the signal to cover my whole house and out into the garage. I saw this RS700 series device and saw a significant price drop, so I made the purchase. I had it stood up and working in no time with my 10GB switch, NAS, multiple PCs and IoT devices throughout the house. It may have taken me an hour to 90 minutes, and this included me visiting all of my devices and upgrading network creds. I was also able to remove the repeater and I am able to get HD streaming out to my garage without issue. Everything is peppier, and it offers the latest connectivity and speeds. Not all of my devices can take advantage of this, but for the ones that could, it is a noticeable difference. I also like the smaller footprint for the device itself. Takes up far less space than my x10. I am able to manage it from my PC or the app on my phone with ease. There are some great monitoring tools with the app as well. It has made my Plex use snappier, and internet speeds are consistent throughout the network. If you are thinking of upgrading your home router, this is a solid choice. I get solid coverage throughout a 3600 square foot home that extends out into a garage on the opposite side of the house. Fantastic coverage and I have not yet found any dark spots in the house. (The app can help with that!) I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a cure for Sonos I was upgrading from a Linksys wifi 6 3 node system. This has cut my latency and increased my Starlink speeds. The biggest surprise was how it does with my Sonos. I have 5 Sonos zones in my house not including my TV. Before I could never get more than 2 zones to work at the same time without cutting out. Now all of them work flawlessly. My son’s Oculus works again too. This Nightgear 700s is worth every penny.

This nighthawk hasn’t gave me issues, definitely has enough speed for multiple devices including gaming consoles and PCs. Worth the investment if you’re looking for superior speeds. Asus would max out at 1100mbps and the nighthawk maxes out at 1800mbps over WiFi

The one negative is that if you have devices that run on a different band exclusively (ie: 2.4ghz) you must split the bands in the router. My old Linksys was simple to do. This router required me to seek customer service.

Set up is easy and you still have the low level control to customize all the features you need. (Assign fixed DNS IP addresses based on MAC, specify starting IP DNS addr so you can reserve space to fixed IPs, WIFI7 and you can disable auto band assignment(2.4/5/6Ghz.- Auto assign needs work and causes problems.) WIFI signal strength is great and provides good sig, strength everywhere. Throughput is terrific and all devices max out to their capability. A big upgrade from our previous router from our internet provider A couple things I changed was the channel widths and channels because of unstable coverage. I then noticed the firmware was out of date and the router could not find the latest firmware, so I had to manually update the firmware on the router to the latest firmware. I’m hoping this isn’t a reoccurring issue where I have to manually update every time. Other than that, I left it alone and I’m hoping this router lasts us for a while.

I never thought it was the router. I even tried Verizon’s router, but the problems continued. Then I got the NETGEAR RS700S — and wow. It fixed everything. Every device works perfectly now. I wish I bought this sooner!

The WiFi 6g is very fast but you need to be in the same room as the router. I feel like they made this one crippled to sell the orbi ones. This is a great eithernet port. It's big and heavy but doesn't look bad. It's also expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BE19000 WIFI Router RS700S The RS700S was easy to setup and it covers my house well, my garage is seperated from the house by 10 feet and I get reception out there on 2.4 ghz and some 5 ghz, well enough to watch tv out in the garage on wifi. My speeds are faster on this router by 30+ mbs with the same internet. I am happy with the size and looks of the router also the signal strength became stronger by the second day, it works great!

The RS700 gave me noticeably improved speeds on all my devices from TV's to Roku Sticks, to my phones and iPads. Very easy to set up, especially with the option to re-name the router to the same as your old system with the same password. Most devices hooked up automatically. Very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best router ever I’ve been using the NETGEAR Nighthawk BE19000 (RS700S) for a couple months now, and overall it’s a beast of a router—but it’s not perfect yet. The Good: • Speed is incredible. I’m on a 2?Gbps fiber plan, and this thing can actually take advantage of it. On 6?GHz, I’m getting over 1.5?Gbps in the same room, and still around 600–700?Mbps two floors up. That’s insane. • Design is slick. It stands upright, which saves space, and looks more like a gaming console than a router. • Setup was easy through the Nighthawk app, and I liked the included 1-year NETGEAR Armor security. Parental controls and guest network setup were simple too. • Supports a ton of devices. I’ve got 30 connected (phones, cameras, laptops, TVs), and it doesn’t break a sweat.

This unit works so well super fast internet handles 200 devices. I love it. I did get it at Best Buy and got 4 years extended warranty for after the one year with NETGEAR so I’m covered a total 5 years . And Best Buy told me if something goes wrong with my NETGEAR nighthawk rs700 they will not fix it just replace it with another RS700 or better unit from NETGEAR. If rs700 is discontinued. Lucky for me, I didn't need to replace the cabling. I love the fact that it gives you the speed at the router.

I actually measured the WiFi signal on the AC3000 at different locations around and outside the house. The RS700 signal strength was almost the same at all locations. Disappointed. But everything else works great. I do think the speed is faster but I did not measure that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buggy Router After upgrading to the latest firmware, several devices on my network were unable to reconnect to the router. Additionally, previously connected devices appeared with device names assigned to other devices. This issue has been identified as a known bug with Nighthawk routers, where the device name database can become corrupted, especially after rebooting the router. I opened multiple support cases with Netgear and spent over nine hours working with their team, repeating troubleshooting steps that produced the same outcome. The suggested solution was to downgrade the firmware, which could potentially expose the router to security and performance issues addressed by newer updates. Downgrading the firmware resolved the connectivity problems for devices that would not connect but did not address the database corruption issue. Netgear indicated there was a trial firmware they believed would resolve the problem and offered it for testing. After expressing interest in the trial, Support provided access to a beta firmware in response to ongoing reports of this problem from other users. Applying the beta firmware improved some connectivity issues; however, if certain devices lost power or the router was rebooted, they often would not reconnect automatically. Reverting to version 1.0.7.96 and performing a factory reset restored consistent connectivity, but the device name database issue persisted. This model is considered the flagship router and has had a documented issue related to database corruption for over a year without resolution. Support continues to use standard troubleshooting steps that have not addressed this specific problem. Based on these experiences, I selected a TP-Link Archer router, comparable in price to the Nighthawk RS700, which has performed as expected with all intended features working. While individual user experiences may vary, this account is intended to provide potential buyers with additional information to inform their purchasing decisions. Please stay far away from this router and spend your money on another better brand that will stand behind their product and try to resolve issues. I really wanted to like the Nighthawk RS700 but it is a very “buggy” router which is fine but the bugs have not been fixed over a long period of time which makes me think they either can’t or won’t fix them and that is baffling to me. I hope this information helps in some way.

Before installing the router, I tested the AC3000 signal strength at various locations around my house and outside. After installing the RS700S I tested the signal strength. It was better in the house but outside the house it was no better at all. Disappointed. But I do think that it is much faster than the AC3000.

When Netgear notified us that it would no longer be updated, we decided to purchase the Nighthawk RS700 router. The Nighthawk phone app made the new install a breeze. All of our equipment, including cameras, Fire TV Cubes, Echo devices, computers and tablets are up and running with minimal effort. We expect to have the same great service from the new Router. And we do love the Netgear Armor protection.

There should be more of a descriptive detail on the steps to install, written in laymen's language. I spent two hours on my own and over an hour with the help of your helpdesk, to get it up and running. It's difficult to tell a layman like me to go on-line or on You Tube to get instructions, while you are offline during the installation.

They tried two different high speed routers with me, but I still frequently had dropped connections, so I tried the RS700 with perfect internet since, with the ability to setup older devices easier with 2.4 bandwidth for those. After about 2 weeks we noticed the same high performance. The connection appears to be flawless. The software in the iPhone is handy and the only problem I see is that my Netgear mesh extender is working after connecting it via the WapS button, however the extender shows up on the “network map” but the green light on the device on my iPhone won’t light up green. I have no way to see if it’s connecting visually on the iPhone ap. That is the only frustrating issue but our devices all see to be working.

Kept pushing me to different operators and then finally they said they'd call me back still no call back. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my use but not perfect Up-front, it beats the pants off the Eero Max 7 from Frontier that it replaces. It's just way faster. It also is a good size and fits in the same space as the Eero did, and is smaller than some routers (looking at you, Asus). I did buy mine refurbished by Netgear, so half price, and that definitely affects my experience in a positive way. (Having installed and tested it, I might not recommend paying full price.) Ethernet is solid and gives me within a whisker of 1 Gbps, which is my service max. WiFi 5 and 6, too, on my modern Windows 11 PCs is 900 Mbps through the floor into the basement. Good speed. 2.4 is not great. And, my old school 2013 MBP that did actually get 600 Mbps with the evil Eero, only gets 500 wired and 200 WiFi on WiFi 5 with this router. :( Also, on 2.4, the MacBook gets less than 100 Mbps. Now, none of my laptops, even the new ones, have a WiFi card that accepts speeds faster than 1 Gbps. My desktop will do 5 Gbps (wired and wireless) but 1 is fine. The Nighthawk RS700's interface on their mobile app is decontented and I guess good for a quick setup and reviewing status (maybe?). The Web interface seems clean but is a pain to navigate. For example, I have not yet found how to set a static IP for an attached device. The interface definitely seems 2 generations below the competition (like Asus not Eero). I think I suffer four actual annoyances. One is the parental protections; I am tired of the Nighthawk enquiring if I want to pay for this; I don't; my kids are adults. Second is the protection you have to pay a subscription for. This seems an awkward attempt to get some SaaS revenue, and I immediately reject such things. Stop bugging me, please. Now, I do like to set my own administrator name (for security, I think), but the Nighthawk RS700 does not permit that for

It came packaged securely and was really easy to get connected by following the instructions in the Nighthawk app. I haven't had any issues with the router since installation, it seems to know what band my connected devices need to use. Everything connected to it seems to be working fine. My internet speed is fantastic, I have not explored the Armor protection yet but will be investigating it soon.

Even two floors down the signal is strong enough to stream music. Setup was straightforward, but when my new cable model caused an issue with final setup, Netgear’s tech support was great and helped me troubleshoot the cable modem too.

My father in law told us to get this one and I was hesitant at first because of the price. But now that we have it I am so glad we spent the money to get it. It has boosted our internet more than I thought it would and has made it so easy to connect. I would buy again if we needed to. Because I can now walk outside my house and to my shop and still be on the internet. I live out in the middle of nowhere and the box before I could not walk to the other side of the house or to the room behind the box. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast. Good coverage. Pricey. Easy to set up. Seems really fast with good signal coverage. I like that it has an extra Ethernet port. Not having protruding antennae will be easier to keep clean. Wish it had been less expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast speeds and reliable I had the “NETGEAR Nighthawk X6S R8000P - Wireless router - 4-port switch - 1GbE - Wi-Fi 5 - Tri-Band” and rarely had issues with it. I upgraded speeds and that kept our WiFi operating at almost top speeds with all of our devices connected. I just switched to this router and didn’t think my speeds would be greatly affected. My upload speeds increased by 300 Mbps with no lag between 30-35 devices running at the same time. I run my Xbox directly to the 10G port and got a reading of 0 ping. Tried it out via online gaming and the zero delay and lag made the experience a very enjoyable one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good router Okay, I gotta say, I was skeptical about dropping serious cash on the NETGEAR Nighthawk RS700S, but after a month of using it in my 2,500-square-foot house, I’m sold. This WiFi 7 router is like the Ferrari of home networking—crazy fast, handles everything I throw at it, and makes my old WiFi 6 setup look like a flip phone. If you’re juggling 4K streaming, gaming, and a million smart devices like I am, this thing is worth a look.

Netgear used to require the user’s selection of settings which most people know nothing about, but now that’s all in the past. Our internet went from 341 out of 500 download speed to 432 on the wireless wifi connection. I assume it’s even faster on the wired ethernet connection. The distance range goes well over 100 feet from the house for our Arlo Netgear security cameras.
