No more ugly antennas to move around. To the important performance - it is simply fast and reliable. It was very easy to setup and I had all my devices connected quickly (although I think ASUS has more fine tweak options but I don't really need that). Overall, my house network is more reliable and better overall throughput. Thank you BestBuy for stocking this and Netgear for an outstanding device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, noticeable difference! During the pandemic, I purchased the previous gen of Nighthawk router to get us through. That AX8 was a huge upgrade, wired connections were 100mbps, and WiFi was decent…but started to age out dropping some connections erratically, so it was time to upgrade again. This new Nighthawk has HUGELY enhanced my network. All the wired connections max out my 550gbps, so I finally know what gigabit Ethernet can mean. WiFi is now almost the same 550mbps. I don’t need to use QoS now, since all devices are blazing now. So glad I upgraded. The Armor protection gives me peace of mind too since it seems to find the vulnerable IOT devices in my home and gives reasonable if sometimes cryptic names of the connected devices. 3 floor 2500ft^2 home very well covered. No 6GHz devices yet, but feel like I’m ready for those when the inevitable upgrades happen. No regrets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New product and it was awesome! Purchased the item through Amazon, bought it new and not used or semi used… setup was pretty easy… just hook it up like they says. Do a few custom adjustments. Relink the rest of the hubs through the house using all the same profile and bang! Everything back online within 15min of setup. I would like to agree w some comments on the Armor sw… I officially decided not to setup since I have a firewall for my house already. So without it the setup was super easy like I said. Did a few customization and did go crazy on it like others. And everything work like a charm. The router automatically did the firmware update immediately after starting up so that help me going to do it manually. So wonderful product. The speed is great and if you don’t have wifi6 compatible it is ok… you are basically future proofing your network since the next gen of products will be moving that direction. Good job Netgear on another wonderful product. Happy to have purchased it to upgrade my x7000 series.

I’ve used multiple high speed routers and this by far is the best! I did have an issue with the router when it got delivered but it was a faulty unit (it happens sometimes but the Netgear support was the best and I had a new unit in my hands in a day! I highly recommend this router and Netgear for the top quality service and products they always provide!

I started doing some research and realized it was not our service at all but our router that we had. Once we upgraded we have lighting speed and multiple members can stream and no wheel of death. Defiantly worth it if you have homeschooling students, work from home and do video calls, have multiple generations that live in your home and streaming tv all day.

My only criticism is that the setup did not go smoothly after adding another Netgear product - a wireless access point that used a different app to set up. Finally got everything to work. If Netgear made their product a bit more non-IT Professional consumer friendly it would have made my day easier.

No, really, no words can express how truly happy I am with this Netgear router. This is my fifth Netgear router in the last 13 years, and each one I've had is better than the last one. The app is terrible and has Armor started immediately. I don't know anyone who wants that garbage, and considered a competitor because of it. The only way to disable the Armor is from the app as the website to the router has not been programmed for it. It also does not actually update the firmware automatically. It's a great hardware with substandard programming.

Then I have a bridge in my shop running multiple devices in there. I had a nighthawk 8000. I got 5 years out of it. I hope I get the same performance out of this one. Netgear is the only brand I go with or suggest.

Called in fir the update and person tried to diagnose the issue. I couldn’t get him to just give me the update. Very frustrating!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good router, but good support is lacking. The RAXE500 is a good router, and my surveillance cameras do not drop out like they used to. The support from Netgear is a different story. Support is obviously outsourced somewhere outside the US so there is a slight language barrier and the support agents are not at all knowledgeable on Netgear's product portfolio, even when you filter down to your specific product. I would give Netgear support 1 star.

Covered my entire house and yard when new out of the box but there was a power failure and when it came back up it was half as strong. Not sure what happened, guess I broke it. Support has been great, looks like I will get a replacement. It would be 5 stars except for the issue I had.

It's faster and more stable, and it's range is fantastic in my very large home. It gives me access in my front Bedroom where the signal has to penetrate six walls and at a good distance. It's worth every penny.

I wasted nearly 2 hours trying to troubleshoot issues i had trying to install the product through the app. Overall i have had zero issues with network connectivity or speeds and am overall very pleased with the product

The RAXE500 router was purchased because the top two gateways offered by my ISP (after spending many hours & gateway replacements) provided poor WIFI range and speed especially compared the RAXE500.

I needed a great tri band router for my fiber connection and this bad boy is batting 1000! I currently have 62 devices running on it and don’t have a sputter or pinwheel anywhere across any of my different tech platforms. Highly recommend! Trust me when I say- as time progresses, it will only become more and more clear that you made the right choice in purchasing this router as more and more devices adapt and are able to utilize the 6G WiFi Band. If you haven't had the opportunity to experience it yet, please trust me when I say it is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I bought Netgear best of the best Wi-Fi, it was expensive but we need very liable and powerful Wi-Fi. I have more than 40 Wi-Fi equipment to connect. So far it is doing great job and no issue dropping off signals. I gave it 4.5 star out of 5 star. 1/2 star down due to price. It is expensive and hope last is long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NETGEAR Nighthawk AXE11000 (RAXE500) I've now had the NETGEAR AXE11000 RAXE500 for a couple of weeks and it has been a big performer. I had another brand router that was pretty decent but the AXE11000 outperforms it by a mile. PROS: I found the AXE11000 to be easy to setup using the auto setup feature -used the 2.5/1ghz internet input and am -getting 1.35ghz speeds on cable -not seeing any issues with drop outs or signal strength, even though the router is in a 2nd floor corner room -easy to use app helps with setting up new devices and performing firmware updates for the router CONS: -would like it to be smaller, petty on my part -could be less expensive -not many 6e devices yet and I don't have any to comment on I do recommend reading the manual so that you can use the router to it's fullest.

I was getting 300Mbit over ether an only 96Mbit over 5Ghz WiFi. Now with the RAXE500, getting full duplex, WiFi is running at 500 Mbit, ether runs at 1Gbit now.

Following after that, I switched over to TP because the Netgear Router kept dropping my connection, it kept choking my speeds, and it had it’s complicated qwerks. Well Netgear has come along way. The AXE1100 smashed my expectations. It took me less then 10 minutes to setup, I have had zero issues, and I am very satisfied with the product.

I can already see an immediate difference in terms of device connectivity huge. Upgrade for my family. The app is extremely intuitive and highlights security and connectivity. Was considering the orbit, however, due to the size of my residence and family members gaming found this product to align with our needs well. And price was extremely competitive to ultimately allow me to make this purchase. The 6E bandwidth is extremely synchronous for our compatible devices making it much easier to allow us to get the best speed for our devices.

I have a total of 20 devices including my nest cams, Honeywell thermo, garage opener, computers and laptops and TVs all run without interruption. After I bought this and hooked my TV up to the 6ghz with all the other devices to 5Ghz. My streaming movies from my friends plex server and streaming services have not needed to buffer anymore and my LG C2 tv’s WiFi disconnecting issues have been fixed. IMO this is the best WiFi router on the market.

This was the most expensive technology at the time so of course I had high expectations. The amount of money spent with my IT personnel trying to troubleshoot has been ridiculous. I can't even scroll through my emails without an issue, so forget FB or Instagram they just won't refresh, absolutely devastated.

Speed is about the same on wired Ethernet and wireless 2G and 5G are good. We have gigabit fiber. My biggest disappointment is range and signal strength of the 6E band. When compared to 5G, it is simply terrible and no better than 1/2 speed. Sitting in the exact same spot using my 2023 model Razer Blade 14

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great router, very fast. Added this nighthawk to my existing att supplied combo unit to have more control over my WiFi, and to gain access to 6e 6ghz. Very happy with how its performance has been. Range is excellent in a 2800sq ft home. And speed tests have been 700-900 all over my two story home. Only negatives so far have been. The setup wasn’t great and took a few tries to get working. But getting the att hardware to play nice could have been the issue there. And the netgear nighthawk app and router gui in general could be abit better. Atad slow to load up. And you have to really dig around to find the more advanced options. It isn’t organized the best. But overall very happy with this router. And it has enabled me to fix the issue I was having with my Sony home theater system the ht-a9, as it connects to its speakers on 5ghz and att won’t let you set channels for 5ghz band. So was having channel overlap issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent but incomplete I bought this just over two weeks ago. Once installed it showed 3 different frequencies to connect to, 2.5 ghz, 5ghz, and 6ghz. I put a few devices on the 2.5, most on the 5, and just the tv on the 6. I considered putting phone and others on the 6, but didn’t bother. A few hours later I went to put my game console on the 6, and the 6 wasn’t listed, odd. I then went to put phone on the 6ghz, and it was no longer showing. After initial install it was on every devices list, and as of that moment, doesn’t show anymore at all. I bought it for features that don’t even work.

Router was easy to setup for an average user. I use it for streaming, regular internet browsing, and gaming which includes VR gaming. No issues so far with the router, however, as some reviews may note, the additional security packages they offer are on a subscription basis—if you’re looking for the added security measures and parental controls, consider the subscription costs vs other router options. Not an issue for me, however, and I’m happy with the router.

My older router (R7000P) and Nighthawk X4 extender (AC2200) would occasionally drop a device or needed to be rebooted. I decided to continue to use the extender with the AXE11000. My home is 2830 sq ft. and the router is located on the first floor near the front of the house (certainly not in the center of the home (wife didn't want router mixing up her decor). Comcast is my ISP, basic plan 200 Mbps. Throughout the house speed test average 160 - 235 Mbps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hi performance, lots of tech I recently purchased a new home and using the router offered by my provider. The speed is half of what I’m paying for which is 1gig. My biggest problem is range, I have security cameras that lose signal and my smart TV’s won’t connect. I wanted to try the Nighthawk out in hopes for better performance and range. I gave it four stars based on what this costs, it’s expensive and you can get the same features for far less. My other gripe is having to pay a yearly subscription for security. I feel like it should include this at the price point it’s at. I admit, I probably didn’t need something this fancy but I do like it. My internet speed wen’t from 470ish to 980ish which is great. The WiFi range improved but I’m going to need a mesh system and don’t blame the router, it’s in a terrible spot. Overall, I like it, it’s just pricy but it works really good.

Setup only took five minutes and I’ve never had faster download speeds. I did a speed test on google and hit 720 mb/s with 22 mb/s upload on Comcast’s gig internet. When my old router worked I capped out around 500 mb/s. Also no problems with coverage in a 2800 as foot house. Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well in 3-story smart home After I moved into a 3-story, 2,300 sq. ft. home - my old router was struggling with range, and with the addition of HomeKit + a dozen smart home devices including 1080p live-streaming / uploading security cameras and WFH zoom calls with two people, the struggle was real. Was glad to get this router with 6e, the biggest wifi innovation in a decade+; I feel sufficiently future-proofed, forgot about the need for a router (which is great, my smart home devices stay well-connected to HomeKit, and everything runs smooth with a slightly boosted range. Any larger of a home, I would have gone for a mesh system. FYI, I have 30mbps down / 4 up cable internet (I know, slow) - but it handles all of our needs including streaming 1080p on 4 devices simultaneously, and 16-20 devices connected including Chromecast, Apple TV, Fire TV, 2 smart TVs, laundry machine, multiple light bulbs and switches, security system, 2 cameras, thermostat, phones, homepod, apple watch, and 2-3 computers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great The RAXE500 is really not that different from the RAX80/RAX200 routers which I use to own, but the new WiFi 6E (6Ghz) is really something. about 100Mbps faster than the 5Ghz and about 3x faster than the 2.4Ghz. My Samsung S21 Ultra is the only device that is compatible with the new 6E so can't really compare how the connection handles with multiple devices connected to the 6Ghz. So once more devices are compatible with it such as Laptops and NICs for PC then I can truly test it and see if really makes a difference but for now I'm happy with it and would recommend this to anyone looking to have a future proof router. There is a similar router (RAX200) for $549.99 but doesn't have the 6Ghz connection so might as well spend that extra $50 to future proof your home or office building for when the time comes when the new WiFi 6E becomes the new standard connection for devices. WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 are still gonna be around for awhile possibly another 5 years before they become outdated and WiFi 6E becomes the new norm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A stable router Under firmware 1.0.0.52, this router has been stable for family use. It is fast and it does not overheat. We tested wifi 6E in OWE mode and we are getting 1922 Mbps/1922 Mpbs 10 feet away from the router. The other PC which is 20 ft and 2 walls away is also getting the same speed 1922 Mbps up/down. Still, I think Netgear can tweak more to make it more stable for wifi 6E. After rebooting the router, 2.4ghz/5ghz wifi signal comes up immediately, wifi 6E takes a minute or 2 to come up to broadcast. For gaming and video streaming, this is a good router.

The router alone has doubled the speed of my previous router and love the fact that it has a fan built in to keep it cool. So there's no chance to setup TimeMachine by using this device. The router restarts too often, especially during file transfers. No option for auto channel for 5ghz. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Netgear RAXE500 vs Asus GT-AXE11000 I got both the Asus GT-AXE11000 and the Netgear RAXE500. Netgear has better build quality than the Asus. It feels more sturdy. The antenna design is more robust due to being two pieces holding eight antennas instead of eight individual antennas on the Asus. The Asus antennas feels flimsy. The range is one bar better than the Asus for the 5GHz band from the far side of my 2000 sq ft house going through 3 walls, a door, and clothes hangers. The router is placed on the other side of the house instead of optimally in the center since the modem is placed there. I was getting 213Mbps. When in the same room as the router, I was able to hit 928Mbps out of 940Mbps advertised speed via the 5GHz band. I like that the Netgear has a more simplified interface/options on the router management webpage than the Asus. It is easier to configure. Overall, I would recommend the Netgear router over the Asus because of the build quality, better range, and user friendly features especially with a 10% discount for first time user.

I don’t have 6e capable devices yet but the speed for all my regular devices has nearly tripled. My ps5 ran at 330mbs with the Orbi. It’s at 830mbs with the new nighthawk. My iPhone now gets close to 900mbs. I can’t wait to see what a 6e device is capable of

Speaking to someone, if you are lucky, requires at least a 45 minute wait only to be put on hold again because the representative cannot assist with the Nighthawk router. The representatives have strong accents that make it difficult to understand them. After multiple attempts to resolve the slow and inconsistent internet connection, the problem remains. A terrible device.

Interestingly, the wired signal does not, but I didn’t spending $600+ to solve a tech mystery. Also, their tech support was absolutely awful, condescending, and rude. Finally, I should note that I live in an ~700 sq. ft. apartment and primarily use this within the same room it’s hooked up.

Overlooking, that it is a pretty good wireless router. However, it does not have nearly the maturity related to gaming as the ASUS ROG line of wireless routers. The link aggregation works, but if you make changes it can break both internal and internet links. Having to pay for security features that are free on other platforms is a bit much. However, I am only looking for a few features and speed, which it delivers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product I bought this and upgraded my modem as well. I previously had a Netgear modem router that I purchased back in 2017. It was a great product for its time. I had issues with it dropping connection into the rooms. It's in the living room so, it has a hard time reaching into the rooms. Not to mention that my internet speed was about 40 mbps or less. Now that I upgraded to this wifi router and the latest modem also from netgear. It connects really fast. I know this sounds silly but, I appreciate having an on/off switch in the back of both the modem and router. As my previous modem router didn't have one and you had to unplug it from the cord or the outlet. So it was so annoying having to power cycle it every few days to a week depending on how much use we get out of it. Now, all I need to do is power the modem and router both off if we leave the house (since we don't have smart cameras or any monitoring devices and turn it back on when we're at our home. On my phone and my computer, it's faster to connect to wifi. While other times, it would take an average of 5-15 seconds to connect. Now it's within 1-3 seconds to connect. That's a huge improvement. Another thing is, it allows you to connect more devices and I could see who is on my network and as well as how good of a signal that each device is receiving. My laptop and phone have been getting an average speed of 110-119 mbps part of this is because it has more channels, this wifi router is blazing fast. Mind you, I didn't upgrade to wifi 6 because I've read news about the government allowing people to connect to 6e which is an improvement over 6. So I skipped over and waited until this got released. Based on all the reviews I received and having experienced with Netgear products in the past. I knew this was it. I'm also relieved that newer devices will be added to 6 ghz over 6 or 2.5 ghz. I'm sure I'll get a lot of good use out of this. The only thing that I'm having a little trouble with is, if I enable both 2.5 and 5 ghz on, both ipad and mini ipad can't connect to my network. When I disable 5 ghz, it connected just fine. Did anyone notice or know a fix for this? Other than that, no complaint

For me the flexible wired configurations and port aggregations are key features. It worked flawlessly with my SB8200 that requires the use of two ports to get over 1gbps speed. Just a tip to make sure to enable the port aggregation on the modem before trying to activate on the router. Also remember even though the speed is faster on 5/6 ghz if you are trying to go long distance you may need an extender. I was able to place in the center of my house and it works well.

I have to reset the router for 5G connection to come back. I am hoping this gets fixed with a SW update from Netgear.. Until then 3/5 since most of my devices are still 5G and will take some time going over to the new 6G band.

But I have no tools for prioritizing devices, performance metrics, traffic analysis, or any insight into what the "security" features actually do. Also, my personal rig has reduced peak effective download / upload speed compared to my old router. My house has its DMARC in the basement and no on prem ethernet, so my deployment options are limited. If your space matches whatever their design targeted you might receive better results. But for me, I spent prosumer bucks and got a consumer level product so I'm not impressed.

I tried moving the router using a signal extender, even buying another router. None really seemed to help, and it being a metal building I knew I had a problem on my hands. Then I got this router and now my problem is solved. I have strong internet in the workshop now, now I can see instruction videos, use the phone and order part's etc...

A review of my service showed 330 mb out of the modem and 60 mb out of the router. Time for a change. With our substantial monthly investment for internet, why was I “cheating” out on my router? Yes, it was kind of pricey for home , but the Nighthawk AXE11000 is quite a piece of equipment that should handle anything a home user can throw at it. Buy it and don’t look back!

The first technician spoke decent English but said he was not trained in this newest model yet, so he transferred me to a nice lady who could barely speak English. So, it took an hour to get it working due to the communication issue. Love it now, but it would nice if technicians were better screened in the English language or customers were connected to a technician of the same language.

I have always bought netgear routers but always in the 300 dollar range. I have a rainbird irrigation wifo controller in garage that has always had some problems staying connected because of weak wifi. I bit the bullet an bought this router to see if there were really any difference between this an a cheaper router an let me say that i have 100 percent wifi signal everywhere now and no more problems at all. Should have bought the higher end router years ago but i didnt believe it would make much of a difference but i was wrong the router solved all my problems it is a beast.

I get my expected gigabit internet speeds over ethernet and WiFi has been excellent as well. Setting up through the mobile app is seemingly necessary, but it was a much simpler experience than I had expected. The Nighthawk mobile app is responsive, works without issues, and has a nice UI that is easy to navigate. My only complaint is that mobile devices such as phones and tablets (in this case, from Apple) don't automatically inherit their device names in the Nighthawk app's device manager (ex. my phone connects as 'Apple' instead of being "Clara's iPhone"). The names can be changed of course, but it can be a hassle after already connecting the family's handful of phones and tablets.

The nighthawk app is great. I just wished Neatgear offered a true VPN, rather than a remote access VPN (or maybe I’m misunderstanding)

But I had the Spectrum router, the range sucked and it was always always having problems. The setup for the Nighthawk was easy, the range is better and like I said so far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely fast across all bands Just purchased a new laptop with wifi 6e support and wanted to upgrade from my Nighthawk X4S router. Now I get wired gig/multi-gig desktop speeds on the laptop! Wasn't expecting to see a dramatic increase on 2.4 and 5ghz bands but am pleasantly surprised to see great improvements there as well. All in all, my IOT devices on 2.4ghz are more stable, 5ghz is great for most regular activities and I can reserve 6ghz for extreme gaming! Configured it for wan aggregation with a Netgear CM1200 cable modem and Xfinity service. Purchased this to get ready for multi-gig rollout later this year or early next. Couldn't be happier, well worth the money!

My internet provider ugraded me to 1GB but I was only getting around 650 Mbs near the router. Now I'm getting around 940 Mbs almost anywhere in the house which is aproximately 1600 sq ft. Even in the backyard and alley I still have a fast connection. I would highly recommend this router to anyone.

I have been having issues with coverage, its not very large house but I guess having the router on the second floor affects the performance. So when I was shopping for a router with good range and support for multiple devices this one always appeared. I am happy to confirm that the AXE11000 will work perfectly for a 3400 sqft home (2 floors). I get strong signal in every room and even in my back yard. I have multiple devices (20 ) and haven't had any issues at all.

I have a 1.2GHz plan with Comcast. @ 12' sitting directly in front of the router (behind an LG C2 65") running 6E, the best I would get was 700 to 800MHz download. I bought an Asus AXE16000, & I get all of that 1.2GHz. Also, I dislike the fact that the Netgear interface is not as robust as Asus. For instance, I cannot schedule a reboot with Netgear. Cool looking router (Darth Vader's shuttle), substandard performance when in contrast with the AXE16000.

It perfrctly suited my needs 5-6 years ago, but I needed a new router that could handle the internet speed I am paying for. I upgraded to the AXE11000 which can handle the faster internet speed and also have WiFi 6 which most devices are now utilizing.. The AXE11000 was simple to install with the Nighthawk app.

Two of my prior three are still in service at other homes. This router is the fastest one to date and has the advantage of Wi-Fi 6 e. This is still a relatively new form of very high speed Wi-Fi that runs on a different band from 2.4 and 5 gig. But it is currently available in this router and two of my Samsung Galaxy smartphones are already designed to take advantage of the faster speeds. In all truthfulness this router has the chops to keep up with all 40 devices in our home including streaming televisions in 4K and phones tablets computers and what have you. I'm very pleased with this and expected flawless performance and that's exactly what I have gotten. I paired this with the Netgear cable modem cm2000 which helps provide the speed that I need to power the Netgear 6 enhanced router. I never go wrong with Netflix.

Maybe a mesh system would have better met my connectivity needs. This system is fast and setup was fairly easy. PC setup was easier than using the smartphone app. The device footprint is larger than my last router, which is not desirable. It was time to upgrade, and I'm glad that I bought this product.

It was perfect for my requirements 4-5 years ago, but now with the increase of devices I needed, it started to put a strain on it. so I retired it and upgraded to the AXE11000 which is faster and also handles the newer WiFi 6 which most providers are switching to. As with the AC3200, the AXE11000 was simple to install and setup all of the previous MAC addresses of my devices plus a few more. I believe the AXE11000 can handle up to 60 devices which is more that I need. It is also much faster that on the data rates than my previous router which is need for my grandson's and granddaughter's gaming addition LOL. Overall, I give this a 5 star. Spent the extra money to go overkill for our situation but this thing has tripled the download speeds we were ever getting and our security cameras run flawless now.

Now, that we have NETGEAR Nighthawk Tri-Band WiFi 6E Router AXE11000 (RAXE500), ZOOM meetings no longer crash the 5Ghz (or 2.4Ghz) WiFi network that we have setup at our home.

Looked at five different brands, many different models and got more and more uncertain. I tend to always look at the 1 star reviews to read the reason for the low rating. I'm starting to think they are all written by that products competitors. :) I took the plunge and ignored this router's naysayers and I'm glad I did. Easy to set up, powerful features, improved performance and much greater security by using the app, guest wifi and Netgear Armor. I love it and would highly recommend it based upon my experience. Unless you have something unusual going on where you are going to deploy this, I have to think you will very happy.

I have always loved Netgear products and with two Nighthawk routers purchased back to back (one for mobile and the other for home) they do not disappoint! I speed tested Ethernet and WiFi before and after install... was pleased to see an average 20%/40% improvement on download/upload speeds, respectively! Also the signal strength and coverage for all devices across my house improved by quite a few dB. The router is sexy in its design. The control app is fantastic and simpler to use versus my previous router, where I had to use the old school IP address login via browser approach. Definitely an elegant router for a more civilized age! ;)

What this router does real well is cover a large area with strong signals on both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. It also handles a lot of devices. I have a 4,000 Sq Ft home and 20 devices. It handles them easily.

The process of finding a decent 5G band was mostly painless, and I have yet to test any 6G devices. The My only complaints really come from small quirks in the firmware's web UI that deviate from the previous router for the same effect (port mapping, attached device management, auto-update). These won't matter much to someone not coming from a previous Netgear router. Also not a fan of Netgear Armor being applied by default if the company is just going to ask for subscription money later. My only other wish would be for one more 2.5Gbps port. For the price Netgear charges, that isn't asking for much. Works flawlessly in tandem with an Arris SB8200

Between all the cell phones on WIFI and video game sets we could have up to 18 devices connected at once and no buffering during movies. A desktop and 4k smart TV is ethernet wired while everything else wifi.

The range is phenomenal and throughput on 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz channels are far superior to my old Linksys gaming router. It has been up and running for about a week now and the connectivity is rock solid. Overall very impressed!

I had eero before and it just wasn't providing my family and I with consistent performance throughout the home. I spent a long time researching routers and this bad boy provides. Easy setup and out of the box performance is incredible. We have 1GB internet and wirelessly throughout the house we see anywhere from 500-700MB/s speeds and that includes outside along the perimeter of the house. Insane! Also, I’m heavily invested in HomeKit and smart equipment. Eero failed to connect them consistently and I was constantly reconnecting them to my network. With this router I have zero issue with my IoT devices. Connect without issue and just work. Overall, super happy with the purchase and highly recommend.

Smart devices count on a properly running 2.4Ghz to operate. This device couldn’t keep the 2.4Ghz WiFi signal transmitting properly, sending the Alexa, smart life and tp link device into a constant failure mode. As had problem adding new smart devices to my network, due to the weak 2.4Ghz signal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changer!! I upgraded from a Linksys EA9500 router. I checked speeds before I switched over (pay for 1 g service, on the 2.4 channel I was getting 17 mps up, 9 down. On the 5 channel 238 up and 29 down. Once I switched and everything being equal, I went to 87 mps up and 17 down, but on the 5 ghz channel I went to 883 up and 63 down!! So much faster than previous router. Did have some issues with initial setup but Netgear was helpful. The issues resolved themselves once they installed the the beta firmware. Since then I have no issues with router. It was expensive but worth it for those who want a fast router! I would definitely recommend!!

While it is a fast router and I do see enhanced performance, the network drops multiple times a week and I have to restart the router to get back online quickly. This has been a hassle on more than one occasion when working from home. I've never had this problem with any other router. The low rating is because of this reliability issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't have one however read below. I don't have one. Last netgear I owned was I believe R7500 which never worked correctly for me. Worked fine for 2 years for a friend however and with the 2 Asus routers I've had, the RT-AC5300 and the AXE11000, I have found that to keep from having issues, a laptop cooling pad works wonders. I am 90% sure this would have also helped with the last netgear. These routers as with all the higher end routers no matter what brand, run hot and a cooling pad will help prevent most issues that customers tend to have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Router, BUT 6 Ghz band a waste. The 2.4 & 5 ghz 3500 bands are great coverage at 3500 sq ft, versus my previous Nighthawk R7800 2500 sq ft model.. The 6 Ghz is a joke..... only faster than 5 Ghz if you're in the same room line of sight. FCC supposedly limits the 6 Ghz, so why even bother with it. Signal drops off to nothing quickly. I set "autoconnect" on both 5 & 6 Ghz bands on my Samsung S22+ Ultra phone. I started in 6 Ghz mode and 40 ft away on my same level deck the signal drops completely, so switches to 5 Ghz....... only way it goes back to 6 Ghz is IF the 5 Ghz goes lower. 6 Ghz is a useless Toy that would only be usefull on a conference table in front if you. Love the 5 Ghz reliability, but 6 Ghz is a waste.

I have paid for gig download speeds and only been able to attain half of that at best. After the super fast and easy install via the Nighthawk app, I ran the same tests again. I am now achieving the 1gb download via WiFi and my signal range has literally doubled. This is a game changer modem that looks to be future proof for some time to come.

Strike two, the netgear was showing all bands active and internet connected yet I hand no internet on any wireless devices until I power cycled the netgear, opened a support case with no resolution. Strike three, the netgear did the same thing I just described the next day, had to power cycle it. Submitted the RMA return and dropped it off at FedEx after only having it three days. I’m not wasting my time troubleshooting a $600 access point. I read there are several complaints on the two previous WiFi 6 models before this one. Not worth the money of hassle. Thank God I could still return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some troubles but, once you get passed them.... I bought this a little over a month and some weeks. The first week worked flawlessly. Once I dealt with Xfinity to add my new device. Anyone not familiar with Xfinity, they don't provide much assistance unless you get a modem/router through them. So back up your wifi settings at least and save it on a USB or even your HD. Then once uploaded to your new router keep it off your computer. Since I've dealt with several associates that doesn't know what settings to choose for ip address, etc. Just changed the password for 2.4, 5 ghz. I disabled 6 ghz band since I have no need for that since I only have 100 mbps. The next week, it was dropping connection like nobody's business. I thought it was an outage with xfinity. I noticed that my speed for upload and download was missing and I didn't see they posted my new modem. It had a question mark or left blank. I told them about this and they told me to power cycle, several times both on router and modem. Nothing, after several reps, they discounted my internet by $10 for a month and offered a tech to resolve my issue. We'll, tech kind of resolved the issue with frequent dropped connection, refuses connection, not connected to the internet. It came back a few days after. This is what I noticed. My logs shows ack scan, and numerous DDOS and DOS. People said it's false positives, but, not all of it was. I've read some people disabling their port scan and DOS protection and that it stopped. Don't do it. Also, I had the trial version of amor security (through netgear app) and there is an issue that's not resolved with netgear app. How do I know this,, cause several times I monitored how settings were changed on my ssid names. It defaulted to netgear00 netgear00 5g, and it was enabled on to show networks even when i changed my passwords and changed my login several times. I noticed there were so many issues. Ranging from a computer (really old 8-10 years old) probably got hacked into) security updates stopped long time ago, a phone that is old also has been hacked into since my family member said when the phone went hay wired by clicking on things, closing apps, and so many things. I've read to eliminate those devices off your network. Perhaps even the TV might have been compromised. I wanted to make sure all ends were cut off to prevent people from getting into our router. I blocked unwanted devices that showed up under network sharing. A TV, printer, and a ralink machine which I wasn't sure what it was. It didn't belong to me, so I blocked them out. Someone changed my ID for my computer on netgear and put my real name so something is going on. I installed Bitdefender and found my laptop and several devices OS were altered. I updated my windows to the latest security patches. One by one, the problems were going away. I also had Xfinity increased my speed from 100 to 200 mbps and that was another issue and they blamed that it didn't changed speeds cause I have a router outside of xfinity and to contact the manufacturer. So what I did was to hard wire ethernet connection directly to my modem itself In order for me to perform this, I turned the modem off for a minute and when it turned on, reconnected the cable and ethernet. I did a speed test and it didn't changed and I called Xfinity and told them about this. From then, one associate sent a bunch of test to my modem. The only associate who got it right. He ran through a series of rebooting my modem, asking to see what lights showed up, and after he was done with the test and reboots, I did another speed test and it worked!!! Obviously it was something in their system that was now sending the correct speed. Since I could get over 236 mbps on that test. My conclusion, out of the box, it's not ready to go. There are settings that you need to disable and some you have to enable. If you have frequent dropped connections, refused connections, can't connect to internet Hide your ssid, change your passwords and make them very complicated. Try not to use the nighthawk app as there is something that's allowing your ssid to be showing. I finally fine tuned the router and now zero dropped connections and I've also secured my connections with Bitdefender. It all helped. Monitor your devices from time to time, change your ip login for your router within a specific range. Read your manual. Update your devices security and be aware if your devices are acting strange. As it might be compromised.

Chose this router for the speed and control and are now finding out that the device control isn't working or Netgear is trying to impose their security subscription to access it. We had set a schedule that a particular laptop of our son's couldn't be used during school hours so that we knew he'd use only his Chromebook. Now we're unable to access the device control to remove that schedule or apply any schedule to any device. Attempting to access the "Access Control" causes a refused connection from the router. Trying to get support to resolve this isn't easy either. After your initial 3 months of support, they don't allow access to their support so consumer's, unless they pay for a support contract, are left hung out to dry. I would not recommend this manufacturer due to the potential difficulties that could be experienced and their policies on how they hand them.

Signal in my office with my prior router was intermittent (sometimes dropping to the point of no wifi). The signal has improved since installing this router. There is still some signal fluctuation, but I have had no episodes of the signal falling to nothing.

Cameras, computers, laptops, tablet, printers and a 3D printer. I have over 40 things connected to this router and it is running them all with no issues. Clocking speed of around 220 download and 270 upload. Looking forward to years of use from this router.

Firmware has decent options for the most part but the options available seem to cater more to unskilled beginners. A router of this class should offer extensive customization for the advanced enthusiast users also. Take a page from Asus’s book. However, even though it says it is broadcasting in 6G, neither of my new laptops that have Wi-Fi 6 support/hardware, cannot pick up the signal which is less than 10 feet away. It is still stronger than the Nighthawk that it replaced, and I strongly recommend anyone who has a lot of devices hooked up to the Wi-Fi at once, get this router. I have 4 TVs, 7 computers, 5 iPads, 6 cell phones, and two Kindles, and there is plenty of power for them all. Two of us in the housework from home and we each have two computers running 12 hours a day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good Recently upgraded from an X10 R9000 Nighthawk Router since this router just approached four years old. This new router is almost twice as much as the old one in terms of cost. But so far, this new router seems to have solved my wifi range issues from the old one. My ring door bell on my front door is now reporting much better network connectivity. I can now remove my Netgear Mesh Extender. It seems that all my 2Ghz devices are doing much better as well (cameras, garage, printer, etc.) For cons, the 5Ghz range seems a little slower compared to the old router. I also had to disable Netgear Armor after a day since I had no idea that Netgear Armor automatically installs. Having Netgear Armor slows down my internet speeds drastically from 900MBS to about 200MBS on my wired connections. I had to reboot the router after disabling Netgear Armor from the Nighthawk app. I was able to print out my old wifi settings from my old router first, and was able to eventually manually configure this new router and it just worked eventually using the web interface initially. Afterwards, I just downloaded and installed my Nighthawk app, and discovered that configuration, firmware updates, etc. can be done as well from the Nighthawk app too. Another con is that I can't seem to connect my MSI Raider laptop to the 6ghz range so far. I'm hoping that future 6E devices can work seamlessly with this new router including hopefully the iPhone 14, etc. The firmware that came with this router seems to be the latest version, so no need to upgrade firmware yet. Overall, I'm satisfied with this new router so far. Here's to another four years hopefully.

We moved into a larger home and I instantly saw an improvement especially with the addition of more electronics that required network connectivity. The RAX200 did require us to have range extenders for our upstairs rooms and basement area. So far, extenders have not been needed with the RAXE500. No lag even with 2 active gamers in the household (Summer vacation off to a good start). Easy setup with the app that took approximately 10-15 minutes.

I wasn't expecting the signal to be on par with the Orbi, as it is a mesh system, but the overall signal is fantastic for a single standalone router. I am easily getting my full speeds from my ISP over Wi-Fi, all around my house without any issues. This is allowing my WiFi to keep up with my ethernet network even with 30+ devices connected. 6Ghz band works great too! I'm the only one in the neighborhood on it!

I am not being paid for this review in any way and the following are my unbiased opinions of the device If you've made it to the product page for this router, you probably already know this is currently (April 1 2021) the fastest wifi router that Netgear manufactures. BUT, did you also know that aside from the fastest wifi, this router also supports multi-gig internet as well as one multi-gig LAN port? Compared to my last setup which was a Netgear Orbi RBR50, the wifi speed is unbelievable. On my iPhone 12 Pro, this is the first time I've ever actually seen the full 400 Mbps of download speed over the wifi. From a hardware perspective, I believe this is the best money can buy. At the same time, this is overkill for lots of people, including me. I probably wouldn't have bought it for myself given the price had I not received the beta unit. But, the great thing is, if you purchase this router, you're all set for at least 5 years. The cutting edge technology in this device isn't going anywhere any time soon. Overall, this is the best router I have ever had on my home network. From wifi, to the supported LAN speeds, you can't go wrong if you decide to purchase this router.

Removed the 3 Netgear 6 extensions because this new router covers property distance and speed impressive. Very happy. Easy setup. Weird that you can’t have one guest ssid like main ssid. So guest is -guest and -5g-guest. Not sure why can’t be one. Only had it installed a week. But happy so far. First time with network armor so education mode on this app to see if I want to subscribe. Shows detection hits on Panasonic camera which we no longer use.

I was replacing an X10 R9000 (AD7200) and the AXE11000 just would not connect with any stability to my wired access points, nor to any of my smart devices wirelessly. I worked with their pro support, which I paid extra to ensure I had faster access. The support was not very helpful and the person, while friendly, had such a heavy accent the communication was hard. I went back to the R9000 and wiped it to factory settings. Once I reconfigured the R9000 all was well on the network again.

This one did more than nicely, I had to do the manual (from my pc) setup instead of their suggested Nighthawk app setup. This is a more than adequate replacement and I suggest it if you can fir it in your budget. The rest of the nighthawk line I’m sure has one for you, especially with the advantage of wifi 6 and Netgear’s aggressive attitude to being the best at network infrastructure.

If you have multiple (4+) xboxes or PS, netgear always works well with an open nat where I have found other brands to have issues. However, where netgear struggles is really been high quality launches. I've noticed some instability with wifi that I did not experience in previous products. Though, with each firmware update it seems to get better. Wifi performance and speed is excellent, and it does get slightly more range that my nighthawk did. I wish it went an extra couple of feet but at least it's an improvement. Overall, high quality product that I would recommend. Only thing I wish it had was better information about your network utilization.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome high speed router The parental controls and netgeargear security are garbabge, we just leave them off. When we turned netgear security on it would actually drop wifi signal and reboot. This is a known issue and you can read about it from other users, just leave it off. However, once we turned that stuff off we have had no other issues. We have a RING security system with 5 cameras, we have about 20 smart wifi exterior garage lights and numorous other devices. The router says we have around 60 devices. And they all work great. We have air tv to get local channals via SLING, so you hook up you antenna that is hooked up to a hard drvie that then transmits our local channals throughout our home network to are roku devices. Works great, however, this was too much for are previous router. I thought that we had poor reception because it was constanly buffering, but once we hooked up this router it works like a charm. Also, we had an issue with our ring cameras not consistently following its light schedule. I thought it was due to the camera itself so i called ring and they sent me a new camera (they have a lifetime warrenty), however the old camera did the same thing. Are old router was the netgear R7000 which i though was pretty nice but our new router resolved these issues. Now everything just works so nicely. So if your having problems with you devices, it may kust be network conjestion. I took 1 star off because their security sucks and they charge for it.

My daughter is loving it also, she's getting signals all over the house where she's usually not able to get signals. I do highly recommend this device!

I added a Nighthawk WiFi6 Mesh and I haven't had any issues with wifi soeed or coverage. I've been really happy with the performance so far and would buy again. Just be sure and read about the new features so you can get setup and running without any problems

It was plug and play out of the box but with a host of features. My wifi stuttering issues were gone when I switched my network over. With the 6Ghz band I'm seeing great bandwidth speeds across all devices. I fully recommend this powerhouse router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6GHz Non-Functioning Out of the Box I bought this router exclusively for the 6GHz band, having already owned a WiFi 6 Router without it before. It is non-functioning out of the box and it took almost three hours on the phone with customer support to finally get routed to someone who was willing to help troubleshoot at a meaningful level. Still awaiting a solution on whether it's hardware or software related. I will edit the review if they replace it with a functioning router or discover why it's broken out of the box and resolve that.

And it is very steady! It also had a large range. For context I live in an apartment. With 8 units. My wifi reaches out to all sides of it. I can sit in my car in parking lot and still have a good signal! The stability is amazing! The range is amazing. I love it and highly recommend it over many other choices. If you can. Get the combo.
