Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely Useless with T-Mobile Don't buy this item if you intend on using with T-Mobile. It doesn't work at all. Won't connect to the network. Stuck on the "Mobile Broadband Disconnected" message. T-Mobile has it listed as a supported device in their system though. Spend three trips and two SIM cards at the T-Mobile store. They are clueless told me to return it get my money back from NetGear! LOL Purchased directly from NetGear website. I imagine NetGear & T-Mobile are working frantically to correct the issues. (I Hope

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with T-Mobile I've been messing around with this device for a couple weeks now. I've worked with t-mobile engineers and I currently have a ticket open with netgear, but so far, we have not been able to get this device to work properly on T-Mobile's network. It's acknowledged by the network as a 2g device, but that's about it. Plugged in an ATT SIM and it connected no problem. For now, rating this product 2 out of 5 as we bought this device SPECIFICALLY for the ability to use it with T-Mobile but it does work with ATT. Hard to recommend a product when a major selling point of it doesn't even work (yet). I will give an updated review if this glaring issue is actually addressed and not just bounced around between Netgear and T-Mobile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with T-Mobile I have this M5 or MR5200 mobile router, have had it for a bit now. Used exclusively on T-Mobile with no issues at all. Have taken it all through out Florida testing it's connectivity and such and only ran into 1 or 2 mishaps, but nothing that I couldn't fix. Now for the one downside, went up to Verizon to see if I could get a SIM card to test with them. Their tool does not recognize this as a supported device, the employees wanted to argue with me that the device is vendor locked, however I know it is not, it was not bought from any vendor. I also know it's not vendor locked because I was able to test it on AT&T as well as Spectrum networks. Verizon then wanted to argue the point that I was able to take a data only sim from a friends tablet and worked with it for a week on the sim with no issues. So if you're a Verizon user, be prepared to do battle with uneducated morons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works but expected more Bought this device it does work with T-Mobile even found a tool to configure the cellular bands and was able to get speeds of up to 150mpbs on the download and good uploads in my area same speeds as my cell phone. However it is lacking some functions possibly due to it using the X55 5G modem instead of the X60 ended up returning and will wait for an updated model since these devices cost so much and will try again the.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AT&T Works, T-Mobile doesn't The product page advertises "Unlocked device works best on AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Requires 5G compatible SIM cards for the 5G networks," however after opening 3 support cases with Netgear and spending hours at the tmobile store I could not get the device to work with T-Mobile. I then tried AT&T and it finally works. Horrible experience going through the T-Mobile method with unclear instructions and steps on how to use T-Mobile with MR5200.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST Mobile Hotspot You Can Buy This Mobile Hotspot is aptly named a router by Netgear. When I use it on the road I get amazing speeds. I love that you can use an ethernet cable to tap into the 5G speeds and really take advantage of the 5G. If your service is good where you are going then this device will shine. If you go to areas that are off the grid and do not have Cell Service then this or any other Mobile Hotspot isn't for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for backup LTE/5G home internet This is hands down the most fully-featured mobile LTE/5G router I've ever used, but in my opinion where it shines the most is not in mobile uses, but rather as a backup (or potentially even primary network connection for home internet. Thanks to its offboarding and "Always On Wifi" functionality its possible to set this up as a backup and only use your LTE or 5g connection when your primary connection fails. The inclusion of an Ethernet port on this router is a game changer allowing it to be used for home networking in rural areas where wired home internet might not be an option. The stability has been great, and the interface is powerful and intuitive. I would happily recommend this router to anyone on the market for a 5G router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packs a powerful punch for a tiny device I received this device a few months ago and had a great experience with it on T-Mobile. While in my 5g Area I received downloads up to 200Mbps (yeah, 200!) and uploads over 100Mbps. The speed was super consistent, even as I used it _in a moving vehicle_. Great experience, and feature packed. Even shows SMS to the simcard on the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5G MR5200 - Excellent This product was everything I expected, portable, much faster than my older M1 and worth the cost, ok its a bit spendy, but it does stream video's seamlessly if you have at least 2 bars. Setup was easy, just have your carrier information handy and an activated SIM and basically all I had to do was insert the SIM and walk thru setup (I'm on ATT. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hotspot just bigger than expected. My first surprise is the size and weight is way more than my little hotspot. It works beautifully and is much stronger in signal than the little guys. I’m very happy with it in my rural, hard to get a signal area. No regrets, except the price, but very happy with it and would buy again. It set up easily with AT&T, and got a great prepaid deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great but configure it right I am using this with google fi data card - it is blazing fast but you have to configure it right. For Google Fi - add a new APN with h2g2 and use PDP as IPV4 (NOT IPV4V6 and you should get great 5G speed/connectivity. However, everything else is not so great about it - the interface is sluggish esp. when you are setting it up for the first time. App for it also kind of sucks too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NETGEAR MR5200 GETS ME THROUGH A LITERAL BLIZZARD. So far I'm very happy with the MR5200. I've only had it for a couple of weeks though. I have been the unhappy recipient of a long term power outage so this has been quite a test. ( Snowstorm packing very wet and heavy snow. Many thousands if trees and power lines down. ) My 5g Samsung S20 for the first 4 or 5 days of the power outage couldnt get any internet, and the phone service wasn't great. But, even though I have AT&T for my Samsung and my Netgear, the Netgear has worked very well. When I couldnt get out with a straight shot on my phone, I was able to use WI FI phone service and that worked great. I bought a highly directional antenna for the netgear but with the massive amount of snow everywhere I haven't been able to figure out where it needs to go. However, even with one bar signal strength depending on where I set the netgear, I can still get enough data speed ( even during peak hours ) to stream 1080P video. I did think I had a WI FI issue with the netgear but have found its apparently a Vudu/Fandango problem. ( I seem to be having problems I never had until Vudu merged with Fandango. )The movie "Contact" keeps giving me "slow internet" warnings. I did several speed checks and at that time I was getting 60 mbps. So no, it was NOT a internet connection issue. For experimentation reasons I tried several different movies on Vudu and only had trouble with " Contact ". But get this. If I restarted the movie from the beginning, it was fine. But if I did ANY FFWD OR REV it would hang up repeatedly after that. So never assume it's anything in particular. Experiment. Let this be a warning to those of you like myself who has 100 videos I "Own" on Vudu. I will not buy any more Vudu movies. If your internet goes down or has trouble or the service isnt working well, "YOUR" movie can be useless. Buy the Blu_Ray or 4K discs. Players are very cheap and give the best quality picture available. And if you don't "need" to have a movie right at its release date, they are cheaper than buying a movie online. Often even cheaper that renting a movie online. The battery in the Netgear lasts at least 8 hours. (I havent pushed it.) So thats a plus. On the occasion or two that I had any trouble a reboot fixed said problem. And it reboots pretty quickly. Ive been at this adress for ten years and this is the first time I've ever had fast and reliable internet. I'm in a rural area and there are few choices available. And with this recent and Id say very harsh test of power lines, trees, and I'm sure cell phone infrastructure problems, I am really so very happy with the NetgearMR5200. To repeat. The first several days of power outage, my new 5g Samsung phone was of little or no use. But even though I have the phone and the Netgear running on AT&T, the Netgear has not let me down at all. Even with a mile of snow laden trees in between me and the closest cell tower/antenna.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with the device but not the throughput It's a very well engineered device. Definitely like what you provided. Problem is that you're at the mercy of AT&T (or the lack thereof. Seems to be more lack than service. We don't want to go back to Verizon. Know of any alternatives?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unfortunately, Does NOT Improve Reception! I was really hoping this would improve my cell phone reception with the antenna attachment. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reached data cap, now unit is useless. Reached data cap, now unit is useless. Be advised that your cellular service provider may put a data cap on this hotspot unit! After I reached my data cap at 40 GB for the month due to streaming, I was no longer able to effectively use this unit as a 5G hotspot. My data speed dropped to less than 1 Mb per second! I most likely will return this unit. Also, while I was using the 5G 40 GB of data this unit performed exceptionally well. Other than the data cap, I will miss not having this unit as I use it mobile with my laptop instead of using the hotspot on the phone to keep the phone free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Hotspot Ever This Hotspot is by far the best in the industry .It was easy to set up and understand the instructions (I only had to read the 1st page . Right after putting in SIM card from my carrier ,I was up and running . I'm able to get from 288Mbps (during high traffic from the carrier ) to 675Mbps in the evening and around 800 later at night . This Hotspot is very powerful, easy to use and reliable . It is a bit pricey but it is the only one of its kind and the same type from carriers are priced about the same but you get stuck in a contract . We're also in an inflation bubble right now so everything is costing a lot more . If you are thinking about buying a Hotspot and are thinking about buying one, just do it and stop thinking about it . This guy can do a lot of things and make it easy to get the internet wherever you go. AT

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS I bought this nighthawk 5200 for $800 from this website to use with an AT&T 5G hotspot data sim card. It didn't work. Just didn't ever connect. I contacted AT&T and got a new sim card. It didn't work. I contacted netgear but because it took me longer than 30 days to get to this, they refuse to help. I have to buy an additional "gearhead" service contract on top of the $800. The device has NEVER worked. And they want more money. What a joke. There are better devices out there, and much better companies. Netgear is not what they used to be. Avoid this product at all costs. What a waste of time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bumpy journey This is my honest review. I'm actually having a lot of mixed feelings mostly negative and I won't share all the negatives I'm so tired of talking to customer support and they don't really help. I wish I can just return this product to get my money back but that's too late already. I tried both T-Mobile and At&t. At&t worked the longest for couple months was great and then all the sudden my Internet stopped working. At&t said my device is no longer compatible with there network. Huh well that just doesn't make any sense. I was on a prepaid data only sim plan that had unlimited data by firstnet. I talked to support alot and they said they just couldn't get it connected with there network anymore. so then I decided to try T-Mobile they had a special 100GB plan. The nighthawk worked for 2 weeks then it had the same error just like at&t no longer compatible. I spoke to T-Mobile support and I also spoke to Netgear support as well and they said they will leave the case open but they closed it before I even started having problems again. So I decided to try T-Mobile 50GB plan it finally works again however what made me more mad was how the days shown on the nighthawk didn't reset when we downgraded to 50GB. I didn't get my full money's worth so basically I paid 50 dollars plus tax for 50GB which I did not use all the data I barley used 10GB and the data stopped after the remaining days stopped and asking me to pay again for more data. I believe that's a T-Mobile problem and they won't take fault. However now I don't trust using T-Mobile or at&t prepaid only data sim with this device it now just collects dust. It's just terrible I'm trying to use this hotspot for online schooling but it failed me time and time again. I resorted to using my phones hotspot instead so I won't get kicked from my online school. I bought this device in the Netgear website I truly thought it be compatible. Other reviewers seemed it works for them maybe I just got a bad apple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup Bought the product before Thanksgiving weekend. It came in this past Saturday. The setup was easy. I didn't need a new micro sim card. All I had to do was transfer the sim card from my old mifi to this one. Please update it to the knew firmware before puting it on operation. The touch screen is laggy sometimes. It's better to use a universal stylus to operate the touchscreen. Overall, my wife is happy with the product especially the battery capacity. If you plug the charger in while the unit is off, it will automatically turn on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Compatible T-Mobile Business It would be 5 stars due to features and quality, but it doesn’t work with T-Mobile business. I think because this would be more useful to a business and is priced more for business, this is something they should sort out. It’s too bad because I really wanted to keep this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for basic internet usage only ! The internet is really low compared to the wifi gateway that I acquired from T-Mobile. Both uses the same sim card/cell tower connectivity, but Netgear’s highest dl is 30-40 Mbps while T-Mobile is at 300+. If it can at least do 100 Mbps, then I wouldn’t have to return it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would. I was expecting high performance... and I got it! Compact, light weight, data offloading to reduce sim data usage, decent battery life, high speed 5G, ports for antennas to extend range, touch screen that's pretty intuitive. Kinda expensive I know... but what other hotspot on the market has ALL of these features?!? IF you can... then buy once, cry once. Ask me if I'd do it again... I would!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unlocked, but doesn't work with T-Mobile I am on my 3rd Nighthawk MR5200 in 3 weeks. I bought this one directly from Netgear because they claimed the first 2 weren't unlocked. However all 3 have had exactly the same behavior. Even with a working T-mobile SIM and a correctly set up T-mobile APN, it defaults to trying to connect to the AT&T network, so fails to connect. Level 2 support has had the case for 3 days now with no resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Advertised as a 5G device, that only supports 4G LTE? Really? Why pay $800 for that? Support didn't know this product very well. They insisted that it didn't support 5G in the US. After going the rounds on where I got the information. I directed them to their own website, and the collateral material attached to their site. After 20+ minutes of reviewing, they finally believed me that yes, in fact, this product does do 5G. Then it was on to diagnosing where the issue may be. Perhaps, it was the SIM card. It wasn't. Perhaps, it was the account that I have with T-mobile associated with this SIM Card. It wasn't that either. Perhaps, it's the T-mobile network not having the correct 5G band associated with this SIM Card. Referred them to the T-mobile website regarding their 5G bands supported in the US. Directed them to the Netgear website and the supported 5G bands in the US. It matches! Imagine that! After all the diagnostics, and pulling out and putting in the SIM Card. Getting T-mobile support on the line, support finally concluded that the unit is defective. At least, that was better than telling me that this unit doesn't support 5G in the US. 4 hours later (yes 4 hours on the phone with support and escalating the issue; they issued me a RMA for a replacement. I just told them that I just wanted my money back. Why would I pay $800 for a 4G hotspot that was advertised as a 5G hotspot in the US. Their website, associated technical manuals / materials, and L2 support engineers agreed that this should have worked. Well, it did not. Good riddance!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beats DSL all to pieces. I bought this a couple of months ago and for the most part I'm pleased with it. I keep it hooked up to my home router all the time and have never used it for a mobile router. I did take it out in my yard once and saw speeds over 200 Mbps more than once. It's not unusual to see speeds of 130 Mbps inside my home and that's a lot better than DSL which was 6 Mbps. The only issue I have with the MR5200 is that it will drop 5G and change to 4G. I can understand it doing that if 5G is not available but if 5G is available it should reconnect to 5G on it's on but it doesn't. I can reboot the M5 or turn the power off and then back on and it will reconnect to 5G. It'll do this most every day. I ended up putting the power supply on a timer and set it to power off at 5:00 a.m. and power back on at 5:01 a.m. but that still doesn't take care of this issue all the time. It being a 5G router it should always be connected to 5G if it's available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good device, but less expensive 5G smartphone could be more versatile Modem is great with LAN port and ability to support more devices. But one can get a more versatile 5G Android phone with dual SIM features and an extra phone for $$$ less than the price of this device. The ideal price point for this is less than half of current MSRP. At this price, Netgear needs to provide more features like dual SIMs, link aggregation, more security, better processor, biometric security, or even a mini-PCI Express SSD slot for NAS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Dependable I purchased this router to power my home based business’s wifi connected to an Orbi mesh and it did not disappoint. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup and great speed I bought the Netgear M5 Mobile router for use in my RV. The speed is amazing! Downloaded 4.8GB app update in what seamed like seconds. While streaming or gaming I had no noticeable differences than when on my home 1.2GB cable modem system. Setup was fairly easy after a quick search of how to setup the APN for my provider. I would recommend this Hotspot without reservations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great travel companion! I travel on occasion and grabbed the MR5200 as a solution to keep my wireless devices connected on the road without having to whip out my smartphone's hotspot feature. Performance is much better than my phone w/hotspot, and having a dedicated router comes in handy when I need to set up shop in a hotel room or a spare guest room wherever I'm staying. The 5G cellular connection speeds even rival my home's cable internet on occasion! Overall pleased with my purchase.

It is difficult to read emails, browse Facebook, and impossible to stream movies on the marina’s internet. We missed our nightly movie watching. Not anymore! With our Netgear Nighthawk Hotspot we can stream movies without buffering. It’s easy to setup and use. What a difference it has made for our time on the boat. I highly recommend getting one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad to have it I have been using the MR5200 without the battery and plugged in while traveling since I received the unit on Feb 9. My only issue with the unit is the battery only lasted for 12 hours of use, hence the use of it plugged in without the battery in it. There was a problem when I ordered and even after following the customer service representative's instructions I was shipped 2 separate routers the return process for the extra order was handled very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! I have owned 3 netgear hotspots and they have all stopped working recently after purchasing. The battery’s in the device are not strong enough to power it and if you leave the device plugged in like most people. It will fry the battery. I’ve gone through 3 already and my device keeps powering on and off now and will not stay on for longer than 30 seconds. The design quality is not up to par with the price of the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Verizon approved, but does work. I love almost everything about this hotspot, WiFi6, 32 connected devices, 2x2 Mimo antenna connection, great app interface, C band future compatible and more. What I don’t like is that it’s not Verizon friendly. It works on Verizon, but I had to order a 5G SIM card for my old hotspot to get this on to Verizon’s network. It’s not “approved” by Verizon and they would not give me a SIM card for it. If you can get a card it does work on their network, but you can’t get one from them for this device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Use T-Mobile 50 GB BYOD Data Plan, 100 GB will not work. Great speed and ease on T-Mobile once set up. Pay attention to the plan, despite what you are told. It must use the 50 GB BYOD Mobile Data Plan, the 100 GB will not work. Take it from me - took the 5th person that immediately looked and said I was on the wrong plan and that is why it would not give me an APN address. Switched plan, immediately set up, simple, blazing fast for my area and this type of hardware - 200 GB or a bit more - consistently 5G
