Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup, Great range, password worry I live in an older home with four floors, and the range extends well to the entire home (placed the router on the 2nd floor as well as the patio area. I especially like that it assigns the band wave (2.4 or 5ghz) based on location. Setup was very easy with the app, and nicely let's me monitor the network. One complaint is that when you login to the router page from your browser, the password is displayed to you. I would think that good password security means that the company should hash the passwords and never be able to display them. Potentially this could be a security risk, but I'm no expert.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Intuitive Router We have owned this router for a few weeks and have already noticed a huge improvement in our wireless signal strength and coverage. Out of the box, this was easy to set up with just my iPhone. The SmartConnect feature allowed us to maintain our previous SSID but we no longer had to choose between 2.4 or 5 GHz. The Nighthawk App lets us monitor connected devices and even preform a speed test. Dead spots seem to be gone that we suffered with from our previous router. The only downside may be the Armor and Circle apps, which seem like upsells after the trials (it is nice that there is no additional hardware required for Disney Circle).Overall, this intuitive router has really increased our family's connectivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great app support - great coverage I will keep it short and sweet: The NETGEAR Nighthawk AC2300 not only has great overall coverage, but it is so easy to connect to right out the box. The Nighthawk app is very simple to follow. The router is very stylish and easy to view from a distance, which ports are in use ( I do wish there was a feature to somehow stealth the status lights as they are bright and can distract away from viewing the TV. Of course that's if you have it staged in a media cabinet I usually don't give any feedback unless it's negative, but this router so far is the best I've ever had in terms of overall satisfaction.

The price was right, the setup assistant made setup a breeze. My business partner was so impressed she has asked Santa to bring her the Nighthawk for Christmas.

Increased my internet speed by 40Mbps from the other side of a plaster house. All in all the NetGeqr products have never disappointed but for the money this unit was beyond expectation. Especially for a non-tech savvy person.

The gigabit ports and wide channel space on 5GHz have given me all the internal network speed I need right now. I only wish these routers would allow more security control's like host, subnet and country filtering. Other features like IPS would be beneficial at least at a minimum to protect the WAN port.

I love the app. It is very useful and allows me to monitor who is on my network and turn off their connection from my phone (useful for kids who need a break). I am very happy with this router. The Wi-Fi did drop a few times but it's nothing compared to my last router that would leave us disconnected for hours. I recommend this router for anyone with multiple devices that need connection. We have 12 devices connected wirelessly and three on a LAN. Well worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really like this router I recently purchased Netgear Nighthawk R7000P AC2300 Smart Wi-Fi Router to replace the cable provider's standard issue modem. I really like this product for it's features, and ease of installation and use. It is very customizable and provides much better control over the features than any modem I have owned, either through the app or by logging into the modem. You can even turn the indicator lights off. It's hard to say objectively, but I think the Wi-Fi on all the devices seems faster and more responsive than with the cable company's modem. I don't think about my place as particularly busy 'hub' but we have a lot of devices, ie, 2 smartphones, ipads, laptops, desktops, Alexa, Smart TVs, guests coming and going, etc. So the ability to customize the delivery of the wi-fi channels to these devices is really helpful. In summary, I think this is a great modem and excellent value for the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money We decided to buy our own equipment and quit paying rental fees for equipment, this router along with a matching cable modem is definitely a HUGE upgrade to the cable companies equipment, we have a 3600 sq ft home and the modem/router are centrally located and each floor of the home gets great 5g connection, I check our speed vs the neighbors and we are almost double (one of our neighbors is the head of IT at a local hospital. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpspensive upgrade for better internet connection/speed.

That router would only tenuously connect to devices on the edges if the house and would start disconnecting devices if too many were connected. This router was very easy to setup, has not disconnected any devices, has increased speeds by around 20%, and has increased the wifi's range. Could not be happier.

Firstly, I am able to control/adjust all the settings of the router from an app on my cellphone remotely which is a great. If you have kids, this router is a must. They have incorporated the Circle app which allows very granular control of what they have access to and when they have access to it.

I give this router hi marks for it's easy to use app in installing and utilizing all the routers functions. But even for traditionalist like myself for I hardwired directly into the router for setup, the interface was easy to use and has come a long way in comparison to past router set ups. Signal strength is strong, fast and stable in providing noticeable improvements when streaming videos and surfing the net. Not sure if the $50 additional cost for the MIMO function is worth the additional cost over the next step down Netgear router since I'm not sure as to how to measure it's performance. Overall very pleased with this router.

I was only pulling about 75mbs with my old netgear router and have spectrum come out to my house and changed all the fitting and updated some connections. Last resort was buying a new router. I'm finally getting 115mbs which is just over my 100mbs download speeds! Easy to use and set up! Highly recommend!

Set up wasn't too difficult although using the app was not my favorite. It runs very fast and we have had no issues with connections streaming on our tv or other devices. The first one lasted 2 months so I received a replacement under Costco's policy. The 2nd router did not last much longer. Customer service was terrible. They tried to tell me that my ISP was the problem. I needed assistance with installation and Netgear's support was helpful. My router works well and accommodates multiple devices.

Ran 4k streaming Netflix to basement, while a 1080 stream to upstairs bedroom and also a 1080 hardwired to main floor TV. Then uploaded over a gig of music to the cloud all at the same time and nothing skipped a beat. That is amazing. Buy with confidence and enjoy.

I chose this router because it offered the most up to date wireless protection protocols. I was also blessed with oth speed and range performance improvements. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best router for your buck I am getting better wireless speed than wired! My wired speed is still good at 100 Mbps but my wireless is getting around 110mbps. The ease of installation is also a plus. The apps let's me change my SSID name and password with no trouble at all. I can see who is connected and even block devices. It has a parent control feature if you have kids. The range is perfect for my apartment. If you have a bigger house you might need to set up repeaters but for a all house it's good. Only thing I'm finding hard to do is hide my SSID.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk AC2300 Smart Wi-Fi Router with MU-MIMO came has been awesome. I have a 2200 sq ft home and have no trouble getting wi-fi no matter where I'm at in the home. It was more than easy to set up and I love all the extras (monitoring what devices are on my network. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

This is the first router i've purchased and after reading hundreds of reviews I decided to give this one a shot as my family uses Netgear products and has always been good to them, especially their customer service which is really important to me. I don't know much about routers but that has to count for something, right? But ever since installation, my service has been strong and it has been smooth with both the 2.4 and 5. The app is easy to set up and use in order to edit your WiFi networks and also to update your router. I have no complaints at all.

Very powerful reaching a block away from my home. Strong and consistent signal. Cool gadgets like bandwidth measuring, smart selection of long vs short range bandwidth, guest line with guest password, and content controls. I couldn't be happier. Definitely worth the extra money.

So either ask our internet provider to move our DNS which they weren't to happy OR just get a router. Walmart sales rep highly recommended this particular Netgear style, based on my usage. Instructions could be a bit clearer but i was able to get it connected. We saw the zoom service immediately. No need to fuss w my internet provider. Highly recommend it. Thank you.

The AC2300 has been working flawlessly for three weeks now. Speeds across the board have improved. Definitely recommend this router. I currently run 16 wireless devices through the 2700 square foot house, (not all at once. Range has improved as well. Easy set up!

The woman at Best Buy was good at comparing the three top picks and I would up with this model as being the best fit for my house. I had had difficulty w installation on the earlier router, but this installation was very straightforward and speedy. I have also done an update using the neargear app. This model is faster and absolutely steady.

Having 2 of us that work from home at times and multiple Wifi devices (smart tv, smart thermostat, Skybell doorbell, satellite boxes, phones, printer, NAS drive, etc.), I couldn't be happier with the performance. The config tool is easy to use and assign static IP addresses to certain devices. It extended the range immensely as well as reliability of our home network. Highly recommend this router!

With this router we can both be doing something, have our phones connected, and still manage to pull hardwired results 8 Mbps higher then what I am even paying for! Amazing.

The app had a little trouble at first but now seems to be acting as it should (it would lock up. I've had the router a couple of weeks and after the initial set up glitches, it's working consistently.

Our neighbors WiFi was interfering so I expected to see maybe 150-200 mbps over WiFi with our existing modem but was surprised and happy to be getting speeds over 350 mbps with a strong signal throughout the house. The mobile app is also great, allowing remote access to the router from anywhere. I'm looking forward to setting up a personal cloud to sync photos on the go also. For the price I feel like I got more than what I paid for. No more buffering from running too many devices. Having 10+ devices with half connected and streaming at any given time that always seemed like a problem, not any more.

The router has great coverage throughout the house. My previous router had dead spots which have now completely disappeared with the Nighthawk. Reviews from several comparisons put this on top for 2018 prompting me to go be it a try. Certainly not disappointed!

The only problem I have encountered is reception for a few channels that also had poor reception with a digital antenna. Channels 7 (WABC), 11 (WPIX) and at times 13 (WNET) have spotty reception. Channel 7 and most of the times the main Channel 11 are unwatchable. This may have more to do with the broadcast quality of the individual channels but I have no way to find out what the problem with these channels are. Still, there are many free movies, TV shows and music selections to choose from.

Since we got our nighthawk router I've noticed that our speed has been a lot faster and we all rarely lag when playing Xbox anymore. Paired up with a netgear modum this would be a powerhouse.

After trying several of their routers I bought this router at the advice of their technician. I am very satisfied with this router! It handles the speed of my connection easily, has good range and has no problem serving all equipment hooked up to it. I can easily stream HD content on 3 TV's with no problem.

I read a lot of reviews of the current to WiFi routers and this one consistently was the top choice. It also has all of the advanced features that I need: MAC to IP address mappings, VPN (back to home network, QoS (to ensure my VOIP phone never drops packets), and strong WiFi for multiple devices streaming video. It's WiFi signal is also strong enough that it replaced 3 other WiFi APs in my house that is 2400 sq ft. I'm extremely happy with this router! One of the best out there today.

My wifi speeds have gone from maybe getting 15 mbps right next to the router with 100 Mbps internet to now pulling 100 mbps (or more! in the room furthest away from the router. I have no regrets. Not only do I get further signal but the speeds are so much faster. My stuff doesn't buffer and my games don't lag. I was extremely nervous about the set up, but it took me minutes! Very easy to use. I would HIGHY RECCOMEND!

My intial purchase I had a small issue and had to return my unit but luckily I recived a new one within a day and have loved it since. My internet is faster and my streaming/gaming is much smoother without any lag. I'm already looking at Netgear modems to replace my factory one. Thank you again, Netgear!

After installing my AC2300 nighthawk router, I now have 5 bars in all aforementioned areas. It also has smart connect which uses both 2.4 and 5 GHz signals and lets devices choose the best signal. This makes it so that only one network shows as available and you always get the best signal. Great router!! I will recommend to all my friends.

After that, I decided to go for a new router and I was thinking about avoiding Netgear all together but ended up giving them another chance and I have to say that I'm glad I did! This router had a super easy setup and it hasn't dropped its connection once since I set it up. The router provides many options and provides very fast speeds on both the 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz channels. I am very happy with this router!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miracle My WiFi was starting to become slow with my old router and it was the same brand and still worked perfectly fine but we upgraded to higher speed of internet and well it wasn't compatible anymore so we switched to this one and ever since then I haven't had any problems watching movies on my smart TV and I am able to use my phone while watching the movie and it was honestly a game changer. My sisters were happy again about watching movies on our tv and we can finally have guests over to watch movies and I'm so glad I got this product. I waited a couple of weeks in order to actually review the product and see how it works and I definitely recommend!

I didn't realize how much I was missing till I bought the Nighthawk. I now have my home automation on the 2.4 channel and my phones on 5g. What a difference. I was paying for 150 MPS and wasn't even coming close to being able to use it. The speed is phenomenal and the control interface is so simple my 84 year old father could set it up. I've bought nothing but Netgear for the past 7 years because of that ease. Best router I've owned so far.

I live in a small town where choices are limited so I picked the Nighthawk basically because it seemed like the best router out of the few choices I had. I am very glad that I did! It was easy to set up, is capable of hanging on the wall out of the way and best of all, works very well. We have multiple devices all using the wifi at the same time and this router handles it all, including a gaming computer. I would definitely recommend it!

I upgraded to this model over the holidays and the difference is night and day! Up and down speeds have increased at least 5x, and I haven't experienced a single disconnect, compared to the Verizon router which I had to restart 1-2 times a month. My house is much better covered by WiFi, and all of my connected devices are on with no congestion. The netgear app is also a very nice management suite, and I can find all the advanced options with a few taps on my smartphone. I've been completely satisfied and blown away by this router, what a quality of life improvement!

After using Linksys/Cisco routers for years, I realized that Comcast was using Netgear routers for their home security and decided to give Netgear a try. This router has 30 devices running at any given time and we always have a fast internet connection. Netgear Nighthawk routers have an amazing app that is used for setup and maintenance. You can even control individual users, parental controls, and device usage. I highly recommend this router!!!!!

There were spots in the house that were dead as far as WiFi reaching until we purchased our NETGEAR nighthawk. Now with dual bands we all can stream never losing WiFi or drops all throughout the entire house it's been the greatest purchase we've ever made.

Now we get what we pay for, 100mb download speeds, this keeps us both happy with streaming movies and playing our video games. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for our large home! The Nighthawk AC2300 has been a great router for us. We have a large 2 story 3000 sq ft home. Our previous router was not dual band, did not reach more that 50% of our home, and struggled when multiple people were on the WiFi. The Nighthawk has good coverage throughout the entire house and even outside. The dual band is a big plus too! It Nighthawk performs well even when multiple people are using the WiFi simultaneously and I am so glad to have "guest" accounts available for visitor use. It was easy to set up and I love the monitoring and information that the free app offers as well.

Netgear didn't solve the issue, but does let me utilize the most out of the inferior vanilla router that came with my provider. With my old router, we would have issues with Netflix loading or having poor quality video. With the nighthawk, the video is loading in 1080p and very quickly, and now I can use the other 2 TVs without issues, even the one in the back of the house. Plus this looks awesome. To top it off, I'm an online gamer. This router is a beast and doesn't disappoint. I've had no issues with it. The parental controls are top notch. One of the best routers I have owned. I would recommend this model to anyone who wants a worry free powerhouse of a router.

I have no doubt when I transfer to 1gig later this year it will still be a great router. Plenty of settings and graphs to oggle over and easy access to security features.

They are gamers, and the new pressure added to our very old set up exposed its obsolescence. We upgraded the cable modem from the one provided by our internet provider to a newer and more capable unti. Then we bought this router. The difference in performance is quite astounding. Streaming services are able to actually deliver their content in 4K, the boys experience no lag in their games, and the various internet connected devices in the household are performing much more reliably. I would have never guessed that a router was the difference maker before this, but now I believe this machine would allow most people to pay for less bandwidth and still feel that their service was improved. Way to go Netgear!

We recently finished our basement and our old router wasn't reaching our phones and tv that great when we were in the basement. Everything took a minute to load and it was very frustrating. This new router reaches everything in the basement and has greatly improved our internet speed. I didn't know the internet could load so fast! The installation was quick and easy; it took less than an hour to get it installed and all my devices connected.

The Netgear Nighthawk has been a great replacement, easy to set up, and works well with all my devices. My 2 ring doorbells had some issues until I installed the Nighthawk, now they work fine.

I bought the Netgear Nighthawk after my kids told me we were not longer the 'cool house' because our wifi was so bad! Now it works perfectly in the whole house. The kids all get a separate channel and my Dad's bonus is that I get to shut down the connection to their devices from my mobile! Just made for parents with screen addicted teens!

I really like the Nighthawk app, my wired and wifi speeds match my providers speeds and I could not ask for a better router.

It has features like smart link which puts each persons device on the proper WiFi band, wether that be the 5Ghz or the 2.4Ghz. It also allows me to control the times people re allowed to be on as well as the ability to block things and limit time that everyone can be on if need be. The best feature in my opinion is the ability it has to prioritize the traffic that is going through it whether that be someone streaming or playing online games it meets the speeds that we need.

We found this one on sale for Prime Day and our local Wal Mart price matched it. Setup was easier than any router I've ever done before, and I love the features of the app. I can access my router setting from anywhere and monitor which devices are active. We have a large house and the router is in the basement, but we have no coverage issues anywhere. We are very satisfied!

I purchased two types of linksys routers that frustrated me to no end. So I decided to branch out and give this router a try. I have zero dead spots in my house, Connectivty has increased, and I even get signal at my neighbors house. The performance has exceeded my expectations. As for longevity of the device I've only used it a few weeks so I can't answer;however, I will update the review if it becomes a concern.

Really like the control you have over the content and access. Disney Circle is hands down the reason we bought this particular router and it has been WAY WORTH IT. Our kids are a bit young right now, but soon their friends and others will be bringing devices into our home and we love being able to filter the content they will be able to access when we likely won't be around (or awake. Thank you NetGear for the Disney Circle integration!

Installation is super easy, just simply connect with modem, and power up. nighthawk app works well with AC2300, and dual-band can be combined "smartly" using the app. very good router!

The WIFI range has increased I get any extra bar of WIFI in my downstairs now. The router was super easy to setup. I link the QoS menu I was able to identify and rename all the things that connect to my router to see what is using the most bandwidth.

Range is great, connection is always strong and the fact that there is an app to control my settings brings a new experience that makes dealing with anything easier. We quickly found out our router couldn't handle 2+ devices at a time. It was only putting out 7 mbps. Now we get 200+ mbps just like we are getting from our high speed internet provider.. it works wonderful now!

I use to have an equivalent Linksys router but always had issues with the firmware and it never really allowed me to use all of the 100 Mbps I was paying for. Whenever I ran a speed test of any sort I would get 30-40 Mbps. That's not bad if that is what I was paying to get. I installed the Nighthawk (which was extremely easy to do) and have been running Speedtest periodically and I have been getting speeds right at 100 or even slightly higher. That's a win. It's been a month or so since installing it but so far it's been great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far works like a charm To start - I am extremely limited when it comes to tech-related stuff - we bought this router for a second home deep into the country - with terrible cell service but I chose netgear over 2 other products Linksys which was recommended by a friend with deep tech-infrastructure credentials and Another brand recommended by my brother. I picked Netgear because it had a higher percentage of 5 star reviews than the other two brands and it was recommended by the guy who installed my fiber line. So all I had to do was follow directions - and everything fell into place - full bars throughout the 1st and 2nd floor of the house - unit is in basement. I have just one minor complaint - had I known that the final step to connecting with the router had to be be completed via an app - I would have down loaded my app prior to headed upstate. As it happened - I was able to eventually download the app and complete the connection - I am now a very heppy camper

I was able to identify and name every device on my network, block websites for the kids devices and I have not experienced any buffering since it was installed. This router is amazing!

Our previous WiFi router had been acting up for about a week and of course it went out during a time when our daughter was doing college school work and the deadline was that night. I did some review searching online and found a router that would suit our needs. The Nighthawk AC2300 was by far the easiest router to get up and running. I've got 100Mb internet service and now I get almost all of that via WI-FI with this router. With my old one I barely got 30Mb. Now there's no buffering at all when watching streaming movies. I've already recommended it to two friends who also purchased one and both got the same results that I did. Fantastic!!!

It was a pain with my old router to keep track of which smart devices were on which network, the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz. The Smart Connect feature has greatly simplified my life; it alone is worth the price in my opinion. I must also praise the parental controls, they're quite comprehensive. Highly recommended.

We bought this router because we were having serious issues with our old router dropping devices, slowing down and just generally driving us crazy. I did have some problems setting up the router, but I think the fault was with my internet provider, not the router itself. I had to call my provider, Best Buy (where I bought the router as well as Netgear support. My only complaint was with the Netgear support representative I talked to - he was completely unhelpful. The Geek Squad people were able to resolve my issues with set up. Now that I have it up and running, I must say I am completely impressed with how well our internet is working. No dropped devices, better speed and now I can see how many devices are running at any given time and I can turn off those that we are not using. Thanks for a great product!!

Usually was getting connections of less than 1 MB/s'¦ yikes. I was talking to the best buy geek squad to see what I could do to remedy this, and they suggested upgrading my wifi by upgrading my router. they suggested the AC2300. i took their word for it and purchased it. Easy setup, just swapped it in place of my old router and rebooted the modem, and it was up and running. it's been in use the past two weeks and i'm impressed. the connection is consistent, and my wifi is 5-8x faster.

After realizing that my previous router was probably the issue with the slow internet speed in my house, I went to buy a new one. I knew the NETGEAR name, but it was actually a customer at the store who sold me on this model as he stated he purchased one earlier in the year. We spoke for about 30 minutes and he assured me this was what I needed and I would not be disappointed. He was so right, the ease of installation and the features for the money, I have sold my friends and co-workers and gotten them to buy the same model. Thanks NETGEAR for keeping up with the technology and making my kids quiet from complaining that the et is running too slow. I know that this product will last and be seen as a great investment.

Once setup, I used the NETGEAR UP app to access even more features and settings. Lightning fast connection speeds and the ability to set up both a home and guest WiFi made this product even more enjoyable and awesome. Very happy with my purchase.

My son play XBox live with no problems and the Circle app make it really easy for my wife and I to put restriction and monitor what the kids do online. So far so good.

After my last one quit, I went to Walmart and picked one of these up, and man is it great. It's just fluid, fast, no issues. Great range, I have it on the 2nd story, in the corner of the house, and I get full service even in the basement.

Interference isn't a thing for the Nighthawk. I get great connection at our community pool from my living room. Well worth the money

Setup is easy, no issues there. It is definitely larger than I was expecting and the front lights up like the Vegas strip, but not worth taking a star off. Especially considering you can go into settings to deal with the light issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much needed upgrade Our (very oldold Netgear router was not up to the task after we cut the Direct TV cord and went to streaming video. We were experiencing multiple buffering episodes and crashes. The Nighthawk fixed all of that and is a vast improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nighthawk We chose this router as an upgrade from the basic one the cable company gave us. Our son plays video games and we watch a lot of streaming videos on our Firestick. With the old router we had A LOT of lag and nothing worked right. With this router we can stream videos and our son can play his games with no problems. With the app for the phone I can disable internet to certain devices whenever I need to. I would recommend this router to anyone with a busy household with more than a couple devices that use wi-if.

After super easy setup I can now stream tv no buffering all the way in the back bedroom. Speed increased greatly and love I can manage my teenagers wifi time and access.
