Best decision ever! As soon as I opened the box I was very impressed how sleek and compact, barely noticeable this was. The installation couldn't of been easier! Now I am connected and my internet is running 4x as fast as it was. I have been using Netgear products for litterly decades. This just proves why! Bravo Netgear you knocked it outta the park with this device!! So if your considering it - trust me you won't be dissappointed. Good job Netgear and Thank you!!

Does anyone else see a problem with that? My old adapter was going bad, would connect then drop the connection a minute later. I had to connect, then reconnect , then reconnect…… Each time adding a bit of data for the required download. Including a USB key drive with the download onboard in the package would make much more sense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most modern laptops and desktop, don’t have cd What are you supposed to, to get the install if you have no cd drive, and the adapter will not connect to the internet for you to download the installation, since it first requires the installation. This seems like something that could have been solved by including a basic install, then once connected to the internet get the full update if needed. Otherwise this is completely useless

If I need a wireless adapter for my PC how am I supposed to do the download? Luckily I had another computer that I used for the download. After that the installation went smoothly and the device has been working flawlessly.

After a few calls to tech, we figured out that I could use my wifi-enabled laptop to download the software, transfer to a thumb drive, and upload to the desktop. I'm sure a tech-minded person would have interpreted the directions that way from the get-go, but we got there eventually! This little thing works great for desktop gaming and we haven't had any trouble. I think it was a good investment!

The first A6100 I purchased worked so well on my laptop and setup was as easy as plugging it in and turning on my computer, that I purchased a second one for my desktop. I would highly recommend it. The cost can’t be beat and no more cables!

Would recommend for Travel,Streaming etc. Negative: For something that you can still buy in 2022 the last driver offered by Netgear is from 2017. Spikes last between 3-5 seconds, and occurs every few minutes. It leads to a lot of frustration trying to play video games. Bought another brand of adapter and have had no issues since. Do not recommend.

Just a quick driver download to install driver and a few other pc changes and working great . I have spectrum Internet with a TPLINK router and was only able to connect to the lower band . had maybe 23mbps download speed . After install and connecting to 5G band checked download speed at 230 mbps now . Great improvement .

After countless telephone calls with my internet provider a technician discovered my laptop’s wireless card was becoming outdated. He told me the only solution was to buy a new computer or try a USB adapter. I got the Netgear adapter and plugged it into my laptop port. It was very easily set up. Instant fix! No more problems and my speed on my laptop is unbelievable.

He told me to try a WiFi USB adapter, but the cheap one I bought did not work at all. I got the Netgear AC600 despite it costing over three times as much as the cheap one, and it is well worth the price. Easy and clear installment instructions, unlike the cheap one, and I finally have WiFi again. I highly recommend this product.

That's when it started dropping the connection more frequently. Now, in May of 2022, it's basically unusable. Once inserted, I usually get a message that the device has malfunctioned. After removing and inserting 1 to 5 times, it will work..... for ten whole minutes if I'm lucky. Usually I get five minutes or less. Then I get the message that it malfunctioned and the computer can't recognize it again. I got it working long enough to click "write a review," give my rating, add a title, and write one sentence of the review.... The netgear I bought in 2014/2015 lasted more than five years, and it would have lasted longer if it hadn't gotten so banged up. This one couldn't even make it a whole five months while being treated 100x better. Not happy.

All of the speed rates stated in the literature are transfer rates from the AC600 to the router of 433 Mbps for AC mode. However, the receive rate for the AC600 which is not listed in the literature is limited to 54 Mbps in AC mode. Thus, receiving data on my laptop is much slower than my imbedded chip which can receive and transmit at 300 Mbps in N mode. Neatgear should publish the fact that the link speeds are asynchronous receive/transmit at 54/433 Mbps in AC mode. I am currently looking for an AC adapter that is either synchronous or close to synchronous, especially one that publishes those specifications and does not try to mislead the customer by omission.
