That equals out to be about $40 per year or $3.33 per month . Not bad considering my nwe NetGear NightHawk cost me $80 less in a five year inflated economy . Thanks NetGear !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ac1600 have had no problems since installing 12/20. runs cool, everything works:2 chromebooks, 2 other laptops. 3 internet radios, 3 rokus, 2 chromecasts, appletv, ipad, fire tablet, lg phone, etc. when i found it on amazon for 1/2 price, i bought a backup. had a surfboard modem for a few days, but it ran so hot i bought a netgear modem, and have had no problems with it. these are all low-priced models from walmart or amazon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frustrating Router constantly drops connections. Setting are not intuitive. USB connected hard drive can not stay mounted and is useless for backups. Updating the firmware was simple. The USB HD bug is experienced by many and left unsolved by Netgear.

So we got ourselves a brand new one and of course it has to be NETGEAR cus it’s all we ever knew that actually worked and long lasting. Service is good, tech support is amazing and 24/7, perfect router for expanding the service and looks amazing and slim. Love this brand and can’t see myself using anything else than NETGEAR.

With a recent shift of working from home, my previous router was so strained I couldn’t have multiple devices (phone, computer, and tv connected to the WiFi at the same time or neither would run. Now I can actually enjoy using the internet and at a high speed with great quality!

I changed from another brand router to the Net Gear Nighthawk and more than doubled the speed and distance of my wifi. Have not had any problems with it and we have it at one end of the house (due to layout of home but still get great signal at the other end of the house. I saw this new router and liked the idea of the Nighthawk app and easy setup. I had no idea just how easy it would be. I was able to setup my new router with the same settings as my old one within a few minutes. When it rebooted and came up with my settings every device on my network connected immediately. I have multiple smart devices that are controlled by my Echo. I was afraid I would need to reprogram them all. Nope. Everything worked. Only used my iPhone. It took about 20 minutes. Great job Netgear! I’m now recommending Netgear routers to everyone.

I ran to target and was looking at all the other brands and knew I could trust in Netgear when it came down to the nitty gritty. I found this one and pulled the trigger on it. I can home and it hooked up with custom WiFi network names and passwords within 10 minutes; set up could have not been easier! I would have to deal with lagging video when trying to watch the cameras and our Alexa and Google devices were always offline. Well this router has so far fixed all those issues.

In order to set up the router, you had to download the NETGEAR Nighthawk app, which is not compatible on any device other than a tablet or a phone. My iPhone was not compatible with this app, so it was a little inconvenient for me at first. It took a while for the router to get up and running, unlike my other NETGEAR routers in the past. But at the end of the day, it gets the job done and the internet coverage is great.

Our old router, provided by the carrier, kept dropping the connection and we had to constantly unplug/plug/reconnect...sometimes as many as 3 times per hour. As of this review,, the AC1600 has not dropped or lost connectivity.

This little gem on the other hand has been great, it has a solid and strong signal, has never even fluctuated on bandwidth, even with 10 devices going at once. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a budget-friendly stable router.

I found this router on sale and was happy that it worked with the new modem. It saved me from spending $300 on modem/wifi router combo. The nighthawk app also makes it easy to manage the devices connected to the wifi. I am extremely happy that I bought this and would recommend it if you are trying to save money.

For my purposes, living in a studio apartment I get a perfect connection through my whole unit for several mobile devices, laptops, smart tv, smart lights, and Roomba. And the app got stuck if you can’t set it up the first time so I have to remove the app and then installed it again or if I want to expand my WiFi coverage it won’t explain how to do it .

We had a somewhat older router, with me working from home, 3 gaming systems, 3 TVs, 2 phones and my laptop, it seemed like having poor connection was just normal. Since I got this router, I have had no issues. Plus it has antennas so I can direct the wifi where I need it. I have a 1,500 square foot house and I have coverage everywhere.

The picture taken from the front is taken from above, so it does not really show the slope of the chassis where the indicator lites are. I planned mine for a high shelf and when viewing from in front and below, you cannot see the indicator lites. This is inconvenient and not what I expected, but will work OK for me.

Now it works for a college dorm but the connection goes in and out sometimes and I have to reset it and set up again which is annoying but when it is working it has a good connection.

The only issue I had was the my apartment management didn’t tell me what plug in to use. Once I figured out where to plug it in at it has been working amazing. I would recommend it to my friends and family.

However, I think that the instructions should be clearer and not reliant on using an app. I had difficulty with original installation and web connection. Perhaps my age was a determining factor, but that needs to be considered in the instructions. After connection, I have had NO problems or difficulties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Netgear R6260 The router works great now that it is connect to my modem properly. I was told at the store that it was a "plug and play" router, which I prefer. I got it home and plugged it in. No wifi. Reset modem and router several times, no wifi. Called my internet provider to find all was good on their end. Called Netgear tech support (not super easy to find the number, had to do a lot of searching on the websiteand found out it was required to download the app to even get started-I did not find that information in the packaging. Luckily, the lady at tech support was amazing and walked me through the steps to set it up, though she did have to do something on her end-so not exactly plug and plug. Now that it is set up, it works flawlessly. Overall, very happy but was frustrating during set up.

I was pleasantly surprised I didn’t truly need any additional wifi extenders or aides to help push my signal to the further corners of my house. I’m so glad that I went with this Netgear option instead of their competitors.

If I was looking at something on Netflix it will just cut off. After doing research in Walmart for an hour and I’m glad I picked this router

I didn’t see a point in paying a monthly fee when I could just buy such a quality router from Netgear and not be charged a fee. It’s a no brainer to use a router from Netgear.

We had been using a basic simple router for a year that constantly dropped connection and didn’t even reach all areas of our tiny 650sq ft apartment. We figured a router like this would be a bit overkill since it’s way more fancy than what we need, but BOY are we glad we got it! It’s lightning fast, wifi reaches the entire living space, and it has an app which is SO CONVENIENT. Set up took a little bit of time, which was expected, but it was very simple and the directions were super straightforward. I’m pretty tech savvy but you don’t have to be to set this device up, it’s incredibly easy. I am very pleased with this device and will absolutely be recommending it to everyone.

Price is reasonable considering many routers are much more expensive. Signal can get weaker but only with > 5 devices at a time, granted i use it in my 680 sq ft apartment so it’ll probably be even weaker in a larger space. It says it’s good for up to 1200 sq ft but i’m not so sure. Overall, i’m able to stream 4k vids and do what I need to.

Before I hooked it up, streaming to the television was slow, buffering frequently and often not at all. Since hooking Netgear up there have been no issues with streaming. I now watch all shows with enjoyment rather than frustration.

So I used this as a WAP device which allowed me better WiFi (especially for smartphones since I have a metal roof) as well as ports for my non-WiFi printers. I was configuring via the router's web interface and after setting a password (and logging in with it successfully, it would ask for the password again and it would not work, nor the default. Do a full reset, wait a few minutes, try again. Same thing. I'd get some settings in and it would say it's changed it's IP address to 10.0.0.0 or something, then my password wouldn't work. I spent two hours before I actually got to set up the router. Then it still required that I create an account with Netgear. I've set up dozens of routers over the years and NEVER dealt with such a terrible product. I hope I never have to mess with this piece of garbage again.

Finally plugged my modem directly into an ethernet port to test my service and voila — a smart TV that never worked all of sudden could connect to the internet. I call NETGEAR: It’s past 90 days so I can’t get an actual confirmation of my defective product via the Support Team. I purchased from a major retailer that wasn’t NETGEAR so they can’t replace it via free customer service. So in recap, I received a defective model and apparently, as the consumer who is engaging in a contract with a company that says their product works, it’s all my fault! Bought my Linskys router this morning and within minutes my entire home was connected. Y’all are pathetic. Spend your money elsewhere

Setup went pretty easy, and then adding my extender(extends/improves WIFI to a wing of the house to the new network also went easily. My only observations so far are that the indicator lights on the AC1600 are so faint, you need to look almost directly down on them to see them.

So I just bought this cheaper one and it is doing the same as the more expensive I had purchased before. I will be going look into other name brands that has a good performance rate and offer a better customer service on their product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sort-Of Good but limited range and you better not do a firmware update - turns it into a paperweight Netgear takes no responsibility for and will NOT let you contact them about it if bought over 89 days ago. Their forum has a LOT of complaints and you yourself have to find their link to a pirate website to download a suspicious program to force old firmware into it, and that takes many attempts before it finally takes. This goes for all Netgear routers, not just this model

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product overall The product it’s self is good I would rate the router 5 stars however it’s was not functional able at my house because I have a bad multiple ports for other things and was not aware it would not work so the one star is only because I spent the money on a good product I can not use but l love the security features and the ability to change it to my own

And this Netgear router is perfect. It has the dual band router that allows for consistent speeds all through the home for multiple devices. I’ve been impressed with its uploads speeds and the reliability. Both myself and my wife work from home and with all our smart TVs and cellphones gaming systems it’s work like a 300 dollar router. So if you’re in the market and you’re budget conscience this is the PICK.

Good value, looks sleek and is fairly discreet. Internet signal is strong and we haven’t had any connectivity issues. Happy with this purchase. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WiFi for the Win I brought this router because it said it was good for gaming. It was about 60 dollars, so I thought there is no way is streams super fast for that price. Boy was I wrong, this is one of the best routers I think I’ve ever owned. It was super easy to set up, the app is flawless, and now I play my online games in seamless streaming. It’s definitely a five star product.

In general, Netgear is a very reliable name to go with, even being what the customer service rep from our local internet provider recommended we get (again). Once again, we’re very happy with this router. It provides great connection on our multiple devices and the coverage throughout our old, two-story farmhouse is excellent. It was so easy to install. You do not need to be super techie to accomplish the task, and it’s very quickly done as well. This model is a good deal at the price point offered.

The app kept saying it was unable to connect to the internet despite following all the steps and the router website would crash and restart the process over and over. Now that it is connected, we are like having dual band and it has made our internet a little faster

I also like the ability to have three networks including 5G and a guest network with separate passwords. I have had no issues with this product. Having the ability to program and make changes through app is a plus.
