Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does only run at 2666 MHz on Asus TUF Gaming A15 Although it says "100% compatible" it will only run at 2666 MHz. Stock RAM runs at 3200 MHz. Hoping for a BIOS Update from ASUS...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No luck at 3200 on Asus Tuf506IU replacing stock ram at 3200 Bought to replace 2x8gb sticks running at 3200mhz. Installed Crucial's recommended and booted up and it will only run at 2600 vs the Samsung stock at 3200. Can't figure out why Crucial's doesn't work out of the box. Asus is no help either. Asus also sells the same system with 32gb 2x16 installed at 3200. Maybe a future BIOS update from Asus will identify the Crucial SODIMM XMP profile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ballistix 64GB Kit runs at about 1300mhz instead of 1600mhz My ASUS laptop came with 16GB of samsung memory, DDR4-3200Mhz which runs fine at 1600Mhz but I ran out of memory when I tried watch videos, open over 100 photos in Paintshop Pro, etc. and then uses the microsoft pagefile / swapfile to use the hard drive to make up for the lack of memory. So I purchased the Ballistix 64GB kit which provides more the enough memory.... It runs flawless and I did not even come close to running out of memory, so YES it is good memory for the right use. Just runs a little slower and the ASUS BIOS did not let adjust for the 3200Mhz rating of the Ballistix memory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't work on Razer Blade 15 Advanced (mid-2019) I Purchased this kit for my Razer Blade 15 Advanced (Mid-2019) where I already had 2x32GB 64GB from Samsung but with 2666MHz clock. I was looking for the higher frequency and lower response time for my laptop. When I installed this Balistix Kit, I immediately changed to XMP profile in the BIOS and restarted. The laptop did not boot! It did not even allowed me into the BIOS. All what was shown was a black screen and the keyboard keys changing colors. The laptop kept rebooting itself several times. I tried to press DEL or F10 or F2 keys assuming the laptop is working but the screen is not showing it. Nothing happened. I tried to leave it for longer time, thinking maybe it needs few restarts to test the new configuration then it will boot, but with no success. The only way to be able to boot into Windows was by removing the battery and the CMOS battery then reboot. This removed the XMP profile selection and restarted my PC into windows but without the XMP settings applied. I have now purchased this kit which is not giving me any of its XMP features and it is running at the same clock and CT timing that was of the Samsung kit I had in the laptop. Please advise how I can solve this and make the laptop work with these RAMs XMP profile applied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer beware - Does NOT run @ 3200Mhz by default - XMP req'd XMP is required in order to run this memory at the advertised 3200Mhz speed. A lot of laptops (like mine) don't have XMP, therefore the memory will run at the default JEDEC speed which is only 2666Mhz for this particular memory. If you are considering buying this memory, and want to run it at anything above 2666Mhz, don't fall into this trap (like I did) and ensure you have XMP otherwise it will run at only 2666Mhz. This information is not clearly advertised (at all?) by Crucial, therefore making an informed decision on memory selection before purchase is really not possible. In all all, a little disappointing and the reason for the 1 star review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work/fit with Lenovo P17 I used the Crucial tool to find the Ballistix 64GB was listed as compatible. This memory will not physically fit in the bottom RAM slots - It's too thick! The retention arms will not engage. I tried installing them in the RAM slots under the keyboard and they unit wouldn't boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not compatible with Razer Studio 2020 Purchased this RAM to upgrade 2x16GB 2933 MHz to 2x32GB 3200 MHz. Ballistic memory is not compatible with newer Razer Studio 2020, it only runs at 2667 MHz. XMP adjustments in BIOS will not let Windows to start and CMOS battery has to be removed to go back to the previous settings. Very disappointed, I would be happy if it would run at least at 2993 MHz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ASUS TUF Gaming FA506IU Speeds False Recently purchased a refurbished ASUS TUF Gaming FA506IU gaming laptop to use for video/graphics editing + some gaming. I was looking to max out all tech possible after purchase to turn an entry to mid-level laptop into a beast. I have used Micron Crucial memory for years. They always offer good quality, above-average specs, and at a fair price. They were the only MFG'er I looked at that provided the tools to take the guessing out of understanding which memory is 100% compatible with my system. Unfortunately, that is where they also fell short. I selected this memory for speed (3200), the latency (16), the build (gaming with no chunky heat sink), and the price. The memory was advertised as 100% compatible with no indication that in order to achieve the advertised speeds, enabling XMP in the bios was required. An ASUS TUF Gaming FA506IU does not allow you to enable XMP (in the latest bios version). While the memory was plug-in-play and did work, it was at a lower speed of 2600 and not 3200. Compatible yes, as advertised no. Lesson learned is 100% compatible DOES NOT = advertised specs. I appreciate Micron allowing for the memory to self adjust down to the lower speed to be compatible vs. not working out of the box. And I hope ASUS will clean this issue up with an appropriate upgraded BIOS to be able to achieve the higher speeds. In which case, if that happens it will save me from having to upgrade again. Micron do the right thing and include a disclaimer for consumers to know that your higher speed Ballistic memory will be capped at a lower speed if XMP adjustments in the BIOS are not possible!
