Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thinkpad > XPS For a long time I've been an XPS guy, but this Thinkpad P16s Gen 3 is my new go to. The mix of internals and peripherals is clearly targeting professionals (good for me), while XPS continues to focus on minimalist design including minimalist IO (bad for me). These Thinkpads also offer way more options in terms of RAM and GPU upgrades as they are targeting pros which I appreciate. Most of all I like the 4k OLED screen, which was one of the main reasons I bought this machine. There aren't too many out there with that right now. If there was one downside it's that I wish the screen offered 120hz refresh rate. Other than that so far so good.

It can run multiple screens at once, has more than enough ports for what I need, and has a long-lasting battery. The only thing I do not like is the finish on the computer. It shows all the finger prints and oils from your hands.

The display is beautiful. It is quiet and fast. I’m slightly disappointed with the battery life. I also miss the keyboard on the P50. In hindsight, I should have gotten the P16. It’s heavier and a bit bulky but perfect for how I use it.

One feature I was looking for in a laptop was to have the ability to have graphics above 1920 x 1080. I have it powering a 34" wide curved monitor. And it works as I had hoped. The 16" monitor on the laptop is truly the best quality picture I have aver seen. Also I wanted to have sufficient power to handle my Cad/Cam software. It again is outstanding. Nice and snappy even on some heavy 3D surfacing models. If I needed another similar laptop. I would buy this one again.

The screen looks amazing and I like that the track pad can be clicked from the top or the bottom. Not too much bloatware, either. Since it is 16:10, the screen width equals that of a 15.6 inch 16:9 ratio, and the screen height equals that of a 17.3 inch 16:9 ratio. You may want to take this into account when buying a case, altho mine fits fine in a 15.6 inch case. It is very fast and quiet. It smudges easily, though.

Takes forever to start up, and explorer.exe stops responding consistently. For a two thousand dollars "Workstation" I expected better. The OLED device is nice but when it's off you can clearly see the film in the back, an uneven surface...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Regular Customer Acknowledgement I received a lemon that never got through the setup process. The people at Lenovo told me that there were no others of the same. I would have to return it. I agreed and waited for the return labels. That was back on June 16th. Since then I have called 3 times and used their text service twice. Each time I am promised the labels with 24 to 48 hrs. They have still not arrived as of today June 29th. I explained that this was a great inconvenience for me. I can not buy another computer until I get this one off my credit card bill. I finally had to dispute the charge and have it reversed. I used to be a fan because in the past their computers have been great. However, if this is how they treat loyalty after they mess up and send me a lemon, apparently they have changed for the worst and I found out just in time to never buy from them again!

Best you can hope for is 2 hours which goes by like nothing when working. Have to have your charger on you at all times unless your session is going to be brief. Otherwise it's extremely powerful, awesome 4k screen, the large screen is nice to work on as well, build solidly but not too heavy. Would recommend if battery life isn't a concern.

Upon contacting customer service, I was informed that the item did not qualify for cancellation and it had already been shipped, despite my recent order. I did not wish to cancel my order; instead, I wanted to set up monthly payment plans as I was unable to afford the full amount. There was nothing they could do about the situation. Consequently, I was advised that the only option that was to refrain from accepting the shipment upon arrival to initiate a refund, which I did, so I did not have the opportunity to experience the laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A no-issues workstation for Finance Switched from Dell Precisions to Lenovo after Dell decided to eliminate the PgUp and PgDn dedicated keys, dedicated mouse buttons, and add instead an unreliable clickable touchpad across all models. For anyone doing actual work in financial modeling, this is like getting your hands tied. This Lenovo model so far, based on usage from a couple months, is good so far. The keyboard does not get in the way of getting work done. I like the Core ultra CPU does not make the laptop hot. My previous X1s in comparison were a burning oven. The GPU for me is mostly for using Nvidia AI video conference filters, which are better than the ones built in into conferencing tools . But it does not have the power to run the most advanced effects in Nvidia Broadcast.

Very impressed with the build quality, keyboard layout and OLED screen. Works well as a desktop replacement and is light enough to be easily transported. Great model for both demanding business applications and personal use. Very reasonable price at the Lenovo direct spring sale.

I especially like the lit keys quality when using in low light. The Lenovo Commercial Vantage app is also excellent for checking for updates and doing hardware checks. I would definitely buy again.

The screen with its 4k res is fantastic, bright and crisp, perfect for work, but also for whatever else you throw at it. The numpad is a must for workers using numbers the whole day, and it is perfect here, as it is the feeling when pressing the buttons on the keyboard. 1st Setup time is ridiculous. It can stand multitasking properly, I'm used to jump from a task to another on running different software togethers and it response was always smooth. Overall, it seems like a solid machine. I've always preferred workstations, but what surpised me the most is that this one is extremely light to carry around!

The feel of the keyboard is superb, the positioning of the USB accessories and audio in/out, and charging plug is very efficient. It's lightweight (at least compared to my 1st 2 Lenovos)... and still has the "eraser head/pointer" mouse in the keyboard with a touch pad for those that prefer that option, I travel a lot and work in tight spaces drafting curriculum, sketching graphics... keeping my hands on the keyboard at all times keeps me going and not fumbling for a place to put a mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good minus the Ethernet port Laptop is works great and easy to use. Power charging is great as expected with USB C charging. the only issue i have with it is that the Ethernet port is very hard to release the cable from it. thought it would get better over time but still very much so a pain in the butt.
