I recently started working from home and needed a printer in order to perform my job responsibilities. It is also tax time, so I've needed to print out a variety of tax forms. This printer has meet my work and home needs very well. It provides crisp, clear copies and is nice and compact. I like that it isn't bulky or over-sized.When it arrived, it was very easy to set up. I simply had to remove the pieces of tape which were keeping the various parts secure. Preparing the cartridge by shaking it, then removing paper and tape, was easy as well. Loading paper was just a matter of adjusting a couple levers in the paper tray. Installing the software with the provided disc was quick and easy to follow. There were optional advanced features available to install but I did not have a need for those. I was set up and ready to print in no time at all. The product instructions were clear and easy to follow. Very little assembly was required. Just shake the cartridge and add paper. One thing that surprised me was that it did not come with a USB cord to connect to my computer. Maybe that is typical? Maybe printers do not automatically come with USB cords? If I had not had an extra cord at home already, it would have required a trip to the store to pick one up.Aside from that, I've been very pleased with this product. It delivers clear copies. It is a great size. I was worried that it might be too large and take up too much space but it is compact and fits nicely in my work space. When I was setting it up for the first time I thought that the plastic parts of the printer did not seem very heavy duty, at least not compared to the large office size printers I am used to at my day job. Those are huge machines with heavy duty parts. But for a small printer, I think this product will stand up to the task. It will deliver what I need for my personal home (and work-at-home) needs. If it were more heavy duty, it would likely be larger and heavier. Its size and weight are perfect for my needs. I'm very happy with this product and would strongly recommend it to others. Just remember that you'll need a USB cord.

Also included a CD for learning and exploring, easy to follow as my children ages 10/11 could follow. Install Cloud like a blue tooth to sync printer to all my devices, iPod, PC smart phone. Great easy simple printer, high recommend for active family.

Combine that with the low power sleep mode and you never have to power on this printer. Includes a toner cartridge with an estimated 1000 pages. Has software to let you know the toner left and other stats of the printer.Smaller footprint than my old all in oneFast printing compared to a inkjetEasier setup than quick setup guide saysComes with solid toner cartridge, nice blacks even in Eco mode Cons: I wish the paper tray had a cover like the ML-2010 so i could print when i want to. Right now I only put paper in when i want to print so it does not collect dust.Fairly loud when prep/printingHave to use the USB cable (provided) for initial setupNo dedicated internal paper Tray, always open and hanging out. Other Thoughts: When i first installed it i was confused why the machine would shut off after 60 seconds since that is not long enough when you want to print multiple items. But it does not turn off, instead it was going into sleep mode. Printing from a PC or tablet will automatically wake it up which is awesome! I love this lil guy. I found the setup easy once I found a way to run a USB chain to my work pc.One thing to note: if you hook the printer to your laptop or a device with a already set up connection to your wifi, the software will set the printer up for you and you don`t even have to plug in the password! it`ll then work off the wifi without a hiccup.I would have liked a internal paper tray or something more secure to hold paper, and I hate that it runs pretty noisey for a laser printer, so 1 star off. Otherwise this is a great unit. I have not tinkered with the Cell phone app linking to it.

It gets the job done quickly and quietly and the quality is good.It’s compact in size making it perfect for our small office, prints 2 sided, has an energy saving mode & you can add optional paper trays according to your needs.Initial set-up was easy. Very happy and can recommend it!

It was easy to set up. It took no time to add onto my computer. It has solid output speed and the quality for text documents was high. It has only adequate capacity for high-volume printing though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good printer for a small officeI received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.My office uses color printouts very rarely, so I find the Lexmark B2236dw is a decently priced alternative to a low output color printer. Once set up, it’s a workhorse. The size is compact and the output is fast (up to 34 pages a minute) and one toner cartridge can output up to 6000 pages. I would much rather buy one b&w toner cartridge every few months than multiple ink jet color cartridges that only end up drying up from non-use. The quality of the printouts is comparable to much higher-priced office laser printers.The initial setup with only diagrams was fairly easy, and printing directly via USB was quick. However, setting the printer up on wifi using the tiny screen and arrow buttons provided on the printer proved somewhat more challenging. If Lexmark improves this aspect of the experience, I would definitely recommend this printer for users with quick setup needs.Overall, the printer is very reliable, fast and the perfect size and output for our small office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printerI received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.The printer is substantial in size. From the moment I opened it, the printer felt sturdy and solid. Not too heavy to carry and not too light, as if it weren`t carefully made. I would have to say that my favorite feature in this printer is the ability to set everything up directly from my phone. I was able to download two apps to connect to the internet/printer and then begin printing. Given that so much is done now through phones and iPads, this feature made my life extremely easier. Given that an installation disc also comes along with the printer it is a nice option for people that are less comfortable with newer technology. Unfortunately for me, my laptop did not have a disc drive so in order to use the install cd I had to get an external drive to plug in. The printer also came with a set of illustrated directions, which were nice. It may have been nice to have some actual word explanations. The other materials that came with the printer in paper form were all in languages other than English. This confused me at first. Once I took more time to look through everything, I was able to figure it out based on using the pictures.After printing numerous pictures and other documents I have been happy with the overall quality of this printer. As I mentioned, the ease of set up and printing makes a huge difference! I would definitely recommend this printer to my family and friends. Due to the fact that this printer prints in only black and white, it does serve a specific purpose, and one that individuals would have to have a need for. Overall, it is a great printer and does the job I am looking for it to do!

The printer is very fast and I love the fact that I can use WiFi to print directly from my phone or computer without having to connect anything to the printer with wires. My main complaint was the set up process! The instructions that came in the box were very vague (pictures only, no words). And I got stumped around step 5. I actually thought I may have broken the printer because I didn`t interpret one of the pictures correctly. I found a video instruction on the Lexmark website which was much easier to follow. The instructions should indicate that these resources are available on the website! This would have saved me a lot of stress!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fast. Impressive printer.I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The printer was delivered in perfect condition. It was very well packaged and had no internal damage.I was, however, disappointed in the assembly and operation instructions. It was just a two sided piece of paper with photos and arrows pointing to different parts of the printer. Some things, like showing where to remove the pieces of shipping tape, were pretty obvious and easy to understand. But, not being too mechanically inclined, it was very hard to figure out what to do with the other items. Especially getting the included toner cartridge set up. It would would have been much nicer to have had written out instructions that provided a lot more details.Plus, there was no owners manual or booklet included that even listed what the features were of the printer. It did say on the outer carton that it was a monochrome laser printer, so at least I knew that much. But no owners manual listing what features it has. For example, that it is wi-fi capable or that it can do two sided printing. It also had no instructions on how to use the control buttons and screen that are on the top of the printer. After installing the cd disc, I encountered more difficulty. There were no instructions on how to set it up using the wi-fi feature. I tried to figure it out but to no avail. So, I finally just hooked it up to my desk top computer with an extra printer cable I had on hand.Operationally, the printer is terrific. I love how fast the printing speed is. Both the one sided and the two sided printing speed are super fast. It prints dark enough, as is, and needed no adjustments. The printing is clear and easy to read. The printer is also fairly quiet compared to other printers I have used. I would prefer it to be even more quiet, but at least it wasn`t obnoxious. Overall, I like the printer. It seems to be very sturdy and well built. Its speed and printing quality are top notch. Much better than I expected from an inexpensive printer.I would suggest, however, they need to include a much more detailed instruction manual that writes out the assembly instructions and the operational features and instructions in a very clear and easy to follow format. You can`t assume that everyone already knows how to assemble and operate your product. Manufactures need to remember that not all their customers are under age 30 and grew up with computers and printers. Most customers are not computer geeks and are not computer and printer savvy. Especially the large number of us that are over the age of fifty.
