The cord is just long enough not to bother other peripherals and not too long that it pulls. As many extras I add on to my laptop, this hub seems to be able to handle it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expansion on small scale ThinkPad X1 has many ports but it was not enough. To connect external drives I needed 2 more USB 3.0 connected to USB-C. The most economical solution seems to be Lenovo USB-C 7-in-1 HUB. Less expensive generic hub did not work. However, the Lenovo HUB has required a power supply. Recommended 100W was probably overkill, but I did not have time to check if smaller power supply will be sufficient. Added another $100, and the system started working as intended. I can use X1 without docking station with total of 14 peripheral devices attached to it.

Bought this for work thinking it would provide additional external monitor from its HDMI port but it didn't. Plugging into usb-c port disables the internal HDMI of T14 (bought late 2020) laptop with dual (Intel/NVIDIA) display adapter. Maybe it is T14's limitation but, as a USB-C hub with HDMI port, it's HDMI port has no purpose if it can't be used at the same time as the internal HDMI port of the laptop. So, basically, ended up to just one external monitor. If a refund is possible, I would go to that avenue.

I wish I'd realized that before purchasing because I wanted an additional USB-C port. This might be useful for some users but I can't see it as useful to anyone that doesn't have a USB-C powered laptop. On top of that, it's ridiculously over-priced.

I'm now able to connect legacy USB devices and a HDMI display while still leaving an open USB slot. We also appreciate the SD slot but disappointed there's no slot for the CF card used by my camera. I judge, however, that even with the better sale price, the 7 in 1 hub is priced still higher than the competition.

Since I wanted to add an extra monitor to have 2 22" monitors on my small desk at home, I needed a hub to be able to have an additional HDMI port via USB-c and have extra USB-a ports. There are too many of these USB-c hubs out there with shoddy results, so I figured I'd go with the Lenovo 7-in-1 hub for my ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 1. Glad I did. This worked perfectly for my current setup. It was essentially plug-and-play, and I was able to update it to have the latest drivers for it. The only gripe I have is how short the cable connection of this hub: it's only 7 inches long. Once I upgrade to a larger desk and eventually use my laptop as another screen, I feel like I'll need an extension cable. If the cable would be about a foot long, this would make it perfect. Other than that, it functions perfectly.

Same the SD card port. Incredibly fast transfer of files from my Yoga to the card. Lastly, my favorite feature is the HDMI port connection to an external 22“ HD display panel.

It's has taken me so time to get use to the side keyboard with 10 keys. During the purchase of this product, I didn't realize it had that menu, but it has been really easy to work with it. The compact size is great, makes it easy to slip into my backpack compartments, and doesn’t take up a lot of space to plug in and use. I was looking for a adapter that would read SD cards and there were many that would only read SD and other cards for around $20 to $40. I also saw adapters like this one that were over $100. This one was on sale for around $59 with free shipping and I got it in 3 days. So now I can us it with an external keyboard, mouse and monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful The USB w/ power capability turbo charges my Moto Razr. It's helpful w/ my USB keyboard combo to switch between work and personal laptop quickly. Handy for the extra USB ports, don't need to spend extra $100s on laptop w/ extra onboard USB. Note, the USB C female port is not made to support a second monitor. The HDMI works though so if you plan to charge you T14 using one of the onboard USBCs and the second onboard USBC for this dongle, that you cannot expect for the USB-C port on the dongle for a second monitor.

Its not intuitive that it would be compatible to some lenovo machine and not with some. For me it won't extend my display to external monitor through hdmi port on the adapter to hdmi on the monitor. Called support and they said it not compatible with my machine and suggested something which is quite expensive. I returned it and just used a usb c to hdmi cable directly to extend, which worked, makes you wonder why lenovo would make such a thing.

With its "Plug N Play" ease, just plug it into the USB-C port on the PC and add your peripherals (additional Monitor, back-up drive, modem, etc.) to the Hub. It is small and light and makes a perfect travelling companion to your PC without adding bulk to your travel bag. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lost in mail. Arrived Opened. Lenovo Didn't Care I spend just over $3.5k on a new high-powered Lenovo laptop. After customizing it...it was initially delayed. Then it shipped and was stuck at customs due to the incorrect paperwork....then it was lost and neither UPS nor Lenovo could tell me anymore than I could see myself. Frustrated, I cancelled the order, and the next day it showed up...opened. The UPS driver practically threw the package at me...no signature. I called Lenovo and the apathy was so thick, I said to send me a return label. A few days later, I changed my mind due to my own scheduling...called to reverse the cancellation, and instead return and replace. I was on the phone for over 3 hours and finally had to explain to Lenovo customer service how to manage the issue. Now I will wait another 8 - 10 weeks before the 'replacement' comes...this is significantly longer than the original 3-5 business days to build the initial order. Once they had my money, no one really seemed to care or understand how to fix the issues.

I also edged to mention how useful this is when it comes to gaming as it helped me connect all my devices such as my mouse, keyboard, and microphone. Overall I highly recommend this USB adapter because of its reliability and multiple connections.

I enjoyed seeing how I could blank out my laptop screen in favor of the monitor but before long the monitor started making these awful beeping noises and I realized, becuase this unit does not get plugged into a wall, it does not have enough juice for the monitor - or maybe my laptop doesn't? It didn't have as many USB plugs that my previous plug-in unit had, either, but I made it work. Until the beeping began, that is. I appreciate Lenovo honoring their return policy on it.

I purchased the first one in November 2020 and after less than 2 months of use, it suddenly stopped working. So, I decided to buy a new one which was delivered on 01/15/2021. I was really disappointed to see that it was not working at all, which means that it is not passing through power to my laptop. Also, HDMI and USBs ports aren't working either. I tried to reinstall the firmware and updated to the latest version of Windows 10 but the issue still continues. My laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Generation and the latest version of Windows 10 is installed in my machine. The model of my charger is adlx65ylc2d.

Most all of them have not performed as well as was expected, therefore I wanted to give a shot at a true Lenovo brand. The USB 7-in-1 hub matched perfectly to my carbon x1 version 7 unit. Immediately upon plugging it into the port along with all of the other auxiliary devices I receive notification of downloading the drivers, all automatic. The mouse, keyboard, printer, and 35-in external monitor immediately came to life. I would highly recommend this product

The hub looks well built but I have not used it yet. Maybe if I get a new laptop with a USB-C port this will work for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hub that works first time. hub works great, the only issue I had was the short cord to connect to the computer (two inches longer would be ideal to give it room to be clear enough from the back of the computer and room for cords to be plugged in). I suspect it was designed to be beside the computer instead of behind where it doesn't get in the way of other things on the desk (especially the mouse if it is on the same side of the computer as the mouse). If you put it behind the computer, it is very difficult to use the front USB port.

It’s also great because I can upload photos from my DSLR straight to my PC thanks to the SD card reader. It’s small and compact so it doesn’t take up a lot of space on my desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good. So far, so good. It works perfectly to plug in the HDMI cord to the TV, and it has 6 more different types of female adapters if and when I need them. It's light and appears well-made. I'll know after I've plugged in and unplugged a few thousand times. In the meantime, it does what I want it to do.

The power supply, monitor, and USB devices all connect to the hub, and a single USB-C cable plugs into where the power supply would go on the laptop. It woks perfectly and is great for a home office or for the office if you routinely carry your laptop back and forth to work.

No issues at all I have had it for about a month to use with my new HP Spectre 360x 13in which has only 1 USB-3, 2USB-C ports, and a headphone jack but no SD reader and HDMI ports. I am accustomed to big 15in laptops with all the ports I could want and more, so I needed a hub with the right ports but nothing too extra that I’d never use. You can go on amazon and find plenty for $10 rated 4.9 stars BUT it will likely fail in a few weeks because they’re from sketchy sites that claim they’ll pay customers to rate it highly. I knew I was better off just buying from a brand I trust to make high quality products. I used a Lenovo laptop for 3 years and believe in their quality. I gave had it for just over a month and used it if not everyday, then definitely 4/7 days of each week! So if you’re considering it, buy it! I have yet to have any issues!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Accessory The perfect device for the Yoga C940. Gives you two extra USB 3 ports, HDMI port for tvs you can't connect to wirelessly and a power pass through. It's small and portable. Only thing that would make it better, is a way to cable out of the way.
