The Lenovo Universal USB 3.0 to VGA/HDMI Adapter turns an available USB 3.0 port into a display port offering either VGA or HDMI output with support for high-definition 1080p and with audio (from HDMI port only).
The adapter delivers a convenient external video solution that makes it easy to add multi-monitor capability to a USB enabled desktop or laptop computer.

Effective adapter
As an adapter, it DOES work (cheaper ones don’t necessarily). For that I was grateful.
Further conversations with other representatives revealed it would have been more cost efficient to purchase a PRO-hub. As a result, I now have both. Not the most money I could have spent, but certainly not prudent.

Sony vga/hdmi adapter
I am using this on a W541 and on a Yag 13 with great sucess. works great on windows 7 and 8/10. If it doesn't work make sure you have the Lenovo u3 vga/hdmi adapter in your device manager.

Works perfectly
Works perfectly as advertised. I'm able to use my 27" Samsung monitor with my 510A Lenovo desktop with no problem. The Samsung is used as a second monitor running through the front panel USB 3.0 port. Pretty much plug and ply. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Works perfectly on my laptop.
works like a charm! It takes HDMI and VGA so I can connect to both my external monitors using one adapter. Good for travel as well!

Works perfectly even on Windows 11
Mine worked perfectly right out of the box on Windows 11 (even though it says it is compatible up to Windows 10). Since there was no Windows 11 driver, I decided to go ahead and try it without updating the drivers.

It says it's "Universal" but it's not
Partly works - I get a display but the colours are misaligned making the display difficult to read. Having read through the Q&A section here, it's interesting that the product includes the word "Universal" in its name yet there are so many answers that begin "Unfortunately, the Lenovo Universal USB 3.0 to VGA/HDMI Adapter (4X90H20061) is not compatible with ......". Surely that means it isn't universal!
