Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid trackpoint caps Solid trackpoint caps for my X1 Extreme gen 4. Fit perfectly.
Date published: 2023-03-20T00:00:00-04:00
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit Perfect fit. These tip are particularly make for the X1 Nano. They are an exact replacement for those that come with the matching laptop. The only negative side is that the contact point is so small and the tip is perfectly symmetric that it takes a lot of fiddling to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my laptop! My trackpoint was so and the mouse didn't follow well. the new cap made is work so much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You never have enough Trackpoints! Spare Trackpoints for ultra-book form factor Thinkpads who have owners who use the Trackpoint a lot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect replacement No moving parts. These made my grungy looking thinkpad look new again. (At least the pointer)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need to keep spare TrackPoint Nubs/Caps Handy The infamous red TrackPoint nubs/caps are a necessity and making sure I have enough when they wear out is just planning accordingly. I had an older ThinkPad that I purchased the nubs from a third-party, and they were garbage. Buy them directly from Lenovo while you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trackpoint covers These are better than the ones sold on Amazon or Ebay, but still wear so much more quickly than the old Trackpoint covers. I don't know why they have now made them so thin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timely delivery of good product at fair price The track-point caps I received work perfectly. The one I had been using had not been changed in years, and it was a relief to get so many replacements in a timely way and very fair price. The new caps are actually slightly shorter than the original, but it was simple to fit one on, and the traction it provides is more than adequate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For T16 Gen2 Fits T16 Gen 2 Thinkpad. These are different then the old caps I used to use, but are very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Treat yourself ! Treat yourself to a new TrackPoint ! You'll be surprised how much better touch you'll get by replacing the old crusty one. This package of 10 will allow you to share a few with friends. Just be aware: older ThinkPads use a similar looking Track point but with a larger "socket" on the bottom. These are the replacement TrackPoints with the smaller socket used on newer Thinkpads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trackpoint once again the best built in mouse. Exactly what I was looking for. Needed to replace the rubber nub and this was perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New TrackPoint cap design A must have for any ThinkPad owner. After a year my old cap was wearing down and putting on a new one makes a difference. These appear to be a newer design with finer texture on the top versus the one I'm replacing. Time will tell if it performs as well but so far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad 3.0 mm TrackPoint Caps work well These ThinkPad 3.0 mm TrackPoint Caps work well, although they seem a little thinner than the original I received with my ThinkPad. ThinkPads have always been the best choice for me. I have not owed another laptop brand.
Date published: 2022-06-30T00:00:00-04:00
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not What I Had Hoped The cap is shorter than the original cap. Would be more effective if it was higher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy replacement My trackpoint had gotten slippery so I ordered this package of trackpoints to replace it. The nubs are great and it's easy to change the old out for the new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Grip and Less Drift These fit my X1 Carbon Gen 7 and it feels like a new computer. Better grip of the new cap actually decreased the pressure necessary to move the cursor and so reduced drift and allowed me to turn down the sensitivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great TrackPoint! This ThinkPad 3.0 mm TrackPoint Cap Set (10pk) is a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TrackPoint Replacement caps. These are exactly what one expect them to be. I've used Lenovo Thinkpads from when they were IBM Thinkpads and the TrackPoint is one of the reasons for that longevity. I've also worn out more or lost more than a few of these caps. These particular caps work well with at least the X1 Carbon Gen 11.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy cap fix Short of popping off in the first place (I'm assuming user error) it was an inexpensive and easy fix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pointy! Trackpoint caps came very promptly and at a fair price. I'm glad the support is there!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good As Original Replacement TrackPoint Caps These replacement TrackPoint caps fit perfectly and restore the grippy feel of the original TrackPoint when it was new. Lenovo's compatibility list makes it easy to search for your ThinkPad model number to find out if you have the correct caps, before you order. Shipping was quick and easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trackpoint good product well received ccccccccccccccccccccccc

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected Replacing my cap dramatically improved the speed of movement and reduced the pressure need to move the cursor. (Shipping box was huge for the size of the little baggie though)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed quickly but… The caps surface wears smooth making the TrackPoint difficult to use. My cap reached end of life and needs to be replaced. I ordered the 10-pack 2 weeks ago. They haven’t arrived. I suspect that Lenovo shipped them via Canada Post. The post office is on strike so I’m still waiting. It would have been good customer service had Lenovo anticipated the issue and used another delivery method. Regardless this problem is purely a matter of bad timing. I have great respect for Lenovo quality and product support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The caps do wear out I'm a great fan of the TrackPoint, it's one of the key reasons why I keep coming back to ThinkPad over the past 20 years. The caps do wear out, and I probably give them heavier use than many other people do. So when I got my new X1 Yoga, I ordered a bag of caps. I very much doubt I'll use all 10 of them, but I put some in my laptop bag, and I'll leave the rest at home. An essential purchase, for TrackPoint users.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TrackPoint Caps Does the job it's intended for. TrackPoint runs far better

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works but not Original These replacement caps work with my ThinkPad X1 Yoga. The hole is the correct size and shape to fit. They have a lower profile than the original, though, and I was looking for an exact replacement part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes life easier When you don't use the mouse pad, these are essential.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adequate replacement when your cap is worn out Easy to install and adequately replaced my worn out cap. Wish that they sold them in smaller quantities. I believe I have enough caps for the rest of my life now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensable for my trackpoint dependency I am completely trackpoint-dependent. That's why I use exclusively Lenovo laptops.
Date published: 2025-08-31T00:00:00-04:00
Rated 5 out of 5 by from wrong size for newer thinkpads not a match for the X1 Yoga G6 (2021 model) - the original model was about 1.5mm wider
Date published: 2026-07-20T00:00:00-04:00
Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work, they fit, but... These caps replace the cap that came on my husband's ThinkPad X1. But. These 3mm slightly domed caps don't hold up like the caps they used to make (with the larger hole underneath) for his older laptop models. He's been using a new cap on his X1 for about a month and it's already losing some of the grippiness on the dome. As an aside, it's a shame they no longer make the cup shaped caps in this size - he was extremely happy with those.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TrackPoint Caps The red trackpoint seem to be hard plastic and soft plastic a little confusing based on the description on the internet.
