Wasn’t even Assembled Properly!
This was my first high powered desktop. I researched and thought this would be the best deal for developing the architecture renderings that are a big part of the service I offer my clients.
However, the workstation was so loud and I couldn’t believe people accepted this as normal. After a few days I booted into BIOS and it said a fan wasn’t working. I took off the back cover and was shocked to see the CPU 1 fan wasn’t even plugged in and the two fans for the RAM slots were lying on the bottom of the housing. After many YouTube videos (Lenovo ‘help’ was worse that an at&t call), I put it all together properly and now it sounds normal but I don’t know if anything was damaged or burned out before I did this.
I called Lenovo “support” again to ask if they could run diagnostics remotely and they just kept saying, “sorry for the inconvenience, but it’s past 30 days (31 to be exact)” Just a terrible corporate response to someone who invested his earnings into your company to help grow his business.
To finish this review: My very first computer was a 2003 Lenovo ThinkPad; a sleek military grade build outside and, a reliable workhorse engine inside - even my arch profs complimented me on it. I’ve only bought Lenovo’s since.
This desktop will be my last.
