Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work Computer for Travel This computer was purchased to run the latest AutoDesk products for in the field and out of the office travel. MS-365 is also used. The Key features that made this the computer of choice besides it's processing power that hit the mark are as follows. * Numerical keyboard on the right side. * USB (USB-3 & USB-C) ports * Wired NIC port * Manual camera shutter * Being able to toggle the FN function key to a setting like "caps" lock, as someone that uses many function keys (F1 - F12) this is a great feature on a tablet/laptop. With many tablets and computers going in the direction of smaller screens, the larger screen size is a strong plus. I had 3 other ThinkPads over the years and went with a smaller screen unit by another manufacture before switching back to the Lenovo ThinkPads line. This unit does not have the touch screen my last laptop had, and I miss it for giving presentations at lectures and video conference calls, but I have to say the screen stays cleaner when you don't touch it all the time. A few things I would prefer that the laptop misses on are the following, but these are personal preferences and are the same for all laptops in general for me. 1. Simpler way to set the laptop to boot up with the numlock key on other than manually editing the boot code 2. No USB ports on the left side, and the slots set to the back on the sides rather than the front. As someone who uses portable drives to travel with large files, having the ports on the right side and closer to the front, conflict with my portable mouse use and or note pad writing. 3. HDMI port to close to the front which lead to the cables reducing space to place other items on the limited space of lecture podiums. Even with these common flaws IMO that all manufactures make, the Lenovo ThinkPad line of computer is by far the best Laptop for my use and highly recommend the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The laptop started off good. Support has been iffy Overall a solid build, sales and support is questionable though. It started with when I purchased the laptop. When going through the options. I believed that I found and purchased the best one that I could. The next day when looking through the information for the system I just purchased, I found that the docking station that the online sales recommended was actually not the best one for the system, in fact I would have had to settle for a lot slower of a connection if I wouldn't have found the information myself. I contacted them about it, all I was told was sorry about that. I can just order the newer one and send the other back in. That's fine, only I had to put both on my card until the first one came back, or I would have missed the sale price of the better docking station. Two days later, I hadn't even received my new laptop yet. only to see advertising from Lenovo that they had the newer version available with the I9 instead of the I7 that I got for a couple hundred dollars more. I never got an answer from sales about that one. about a week after I received the laptop I started having problems with the soundcard. Lenovo is very prompt getting back with calling during the hours that I set up with them. I have to give them props for that. What did suck was I could barely understand what the person was saying. Multiple times I had to ask him to repeat himself because I couldn't understand what he said. It was determined that I would have to send in the laptop for service. kind of sucks that I chose the sending in option for service. While waiting for the box to come via carrier to send it in. I was thinking it would be nice to upgrade my laptop with a second hard drive. I called into their company and asked if I purchased a second hard drive if while it was in for service, If I could pay to have the SSD put in while it was there. The sales rep said that would be no problem, so I purchased the SSD. The next day I got a shipped notification in my e-mail? I questioned it because nothing was supposed to be shipped to me. I called in and then was told that they couldn't put in the upgraded part, even though I specifically asked that from the other employee before purchasing the SSD. I also found out at that time that the upgraded service that I paid for would also not cover the new SSD that I purchased directly from Lenovo. So much for purchasing company direct. I have to now decide if I want to keep the SSD. I asked about my warranty and service and was told that it wouldn't void my warranty, but If I needed service, I might be asked to remove the SSD before they could help me solve other computer issues?!!? I was given a couple numbers I could call about it but was told that they probably couldn't do anything about that. What good is buying factory parts then?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't bother with Dell or HP For the longest time I've been looking for a laptop that can handle the most extreme CAD models and assembles. I have tried laptops from brands such as HP and Dell but to no avail. HP is cheaper but can barely had a small model after a few months. Dell is on the pricey side and also can't service. I've been using Lenovo ThinkPads and ThinkStations for the better part of a year in the engineering department at my high school and I recently pick us a ThinkPad for person projects and this computer is one of the best I have used in my year of experience. A solid build quality, reasonable price, and increadible spec is the reason why I purchased this device. For anyone who is on the fence about switching from HP, Dell, Apple, and other brands, I highly recommend switching because it is well worth the money. There is a big reason why most big companies are switching to Lenovo ThinkPads and this is why.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very strong and very Powerful I have been using my Lenovo P16v Gen 2 for about a month now and it has been an amazing experience. I have never had such a powerful computer of my own. I will be using this computer for both work and school so I will have to be running multiple strong programs like Revit and AutoCad at the same time. I know this computer is strong enough and powerful enough to do just that. I also know I can move very fluidly from both my main workstation and on the go. I would highly recommend this computer for both the high graphics and also be able to easily run multiple high functioning programs at the same time. I would definitely be a recurring customer to Lenovo in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, except for nonfunctional camera The build quality is top-notch. However, the camera arrived nonfunctional so I sent to back for repair. They sent me a box and label to drop off at FedEx, free of charge. The warranty repair process has been very smooth and transparent so far. The user interface is very detailed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice. One of my first laptops was a ThinkPad in the early 90s. I forgot how nice these computers are. As I get closer to retirement this ThinkPad should be my last laptop. Thank you for the perfect laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly amazing laptop I’m an Engineering major at college, and the ThinkPad P16v offers very good performance, although it is rather expensive I do believe that for those who need the extra power it is worth the money. My only complaint is that it claims that the laptop can do USB-C charging but I haven’t been able to get it to work, and when looking for help online I was getting mixed messages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop with a fatal flaw This laptop is great all around but has one major dealbreaker for me. It cannot be charged via USB-C, you must use the 170w Lenovo charger. This makes it a nightmare for travel. You can’t charge on a plane as the outlets do not supply 170w, other laptops I have owned allow me to charge with a 40-45watt USB-C power delivery charger even though their main charger was higher watt. Also means you have to lug around the heavy 170w charger, I cant use a single universal USB-C charger that I can use to charge all my devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lenovo Thinkpad P16v Gen 2 It’s been a while that I have been hesitating to buy a laptop directly from the Lenovo website, but I’m glad I did it. The buying process is easy, and the product came earlier than the delivery date. I got this ThinkPad P16v Gen 2 with the i9 processor, 64 gig of RAM, 1 TB hard drive, and the RTX 3000 Ada video card. This product is amazing, and it’s super fast when I’m using Revit 2026 and AutoCAD 2026 for my work. I just hope that it came with more USB Type-A and Type-C connections, but no problem, I can always purchase a $30 hub to have extra connections. I rate this product 5 stars for the quality and value.
