Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall pretty great and would reccoment 4.8/5.0 4.8/5 is what I would actually give. I have had this Laptop for 1 month and it has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. It definitely is a big investment for me so choosing this specific model says a lot. It spent a good 2-3 weeks of searching the web every day for a few hours to finally land on this. While I enjoy this device, I did notice that fresh out the box, the 16GB ram wasn't enough FOR ME. Without any application open, I noticed in Task Manager 44% of RAM storage was being used. So I decided to upgrade and add 16GB more so now im running at 32GB and im only seeing about 18-20% used. Upgrading RAM was super easy btw. I am a chemical engineering student and have notices that i am using this device every single day I am at school. The charger length is very nice and has given me zero issues. The charging brick stays pretty cool and only slightly warms up when used. Battery life is decent with about 6hrs fully charged. 10-12 hrs with ECO mode. Screen is incredible! Color gamut is great as well. 60hz now and days is OKAY but I would’ve preferred something higher. But it’s not a deal breaker so im moving on. It starts up very fast and for the most part is a very quiet machine. Have yet to use most of the connectors on the side but I probably will one day. The little red dot on the back logo lights up and i thought that was cool. My biggest gripe thus far (which isn’t that deep tbh) is that there is no pause, play, or skip button on this thing. I have to open my music and manually pause. Very minor annoyance but something I noticed because I listen to music a lot while im studying. I believe CRTL and FN placement is kinda weird but ive gotten used to up pretty quick. FN lock is nice. I dont regret getting this laptop at all. It’s served me more than well and i think I'm going to use this until it dies on me(so probably in 10 yrs). Price point is high but i got it because i need the performance for the applications im running and because i know im going to keep this for a very long time as well. Heavily consider the reason you are going to use the laptop and let that guide you in deciding if this is right for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hardware, needs ports Can run Minecraft at 4K60 with shaders, so hardware checks out fine. Needs a dedicated Ethernet port, because how does a ThinkPad not have ports?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Laptop, bad sales. This laptop has ThinkPad quality build and that extends to its keyboard and trackpad. Performance is decent, especially for being thin and light but if you want to maximize your performance you should probably buy a thicker workstation. The sales rep asserted this laptop was ISV-certified and naturally they sold me the model that wasn't. If you need this laptop for any serious CAD make sure they sell you one with an RTX A2000, A5000, etc instead of a consumer GPU. Its not pleasant to spend $3-4000 just to find out you won't be able to use your GPU to accelerate your viewport.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue screen & dead after 4 hours Arrived Friday during lunch, did the initial setup (language, keyboard, Windows login) and 4 hours later got a bluescreen. After this bluescreen, the laptop failed to post. ESC, F1, F4 keep blinking, and the fans are spinning but thats all it does. Called support for 20 minutes and reset the device several times. Conclusion: hardware failure. Lenovo premier support so far is 5stars, and they will normally send someone to my location to repair the device. But the device itself only deserves a 1 star rating. Reading the other reviews, I am not the first one to receive faulty hardware, makes me wonder about the quality control that happens in the factory... I have the i9, 96GB, 4090 build, which seems to be common denominator for these bluescreen + harware failure reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My P1 13900h, 96gb RAM, 4090 died after 6 weeks My P1 Gen 6 laptop worked fine for 6 weeks then after leaving running overnight (on a Thermaltake laptop cooler stand) it was running but unresponsive the next morning. Held down power button for 20 secs to shutdown and do a cold reboot but since then when attempting to power it on the Esc, F1, and F4 lights blink in sequence. I troubleshooted the issue on phone with Lenovo support and they said they would need to replace the entire motherboard. While the Lenovo Standard and Premiere Support folks are great and apologetic I still have a dead laptop over 3 weeks later as they're still supposedly waiting on parts and cannot give me a rough date when they will have it in stock. So take the whole next-day on-site warranty and priority parts for Premiere with a grain of salt as they obviously do not bother to stock adequate replacement parts in the US for a seemingly known hardware issue for this P1 Gen 6, 13900h, 96gb ram, 4090 configuration which from the comments seems to dying left and right. Side note: I read online these Esc, F1, F4 blinking lights may mean that its attempting to do memory training in some cases but I left it running like this for days multiple times and the issue did not resolve itself, including removing each one of the 48b sticks of RAM at a time which did not help at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from help me resolve this issue! This is an update to the review I left earlier (see above "frustrating disappointment"). With no help from technical support (please also note the automated text response to my previous review asking me to contect tech support when I explicitly wrote that I'd already done that), I've deduced that this is most likely an issue of electromagnetic interference (EMI) that happens in certain physical locations when the internal display is running at 165 Hz. I'm not sure if the best solution is to have their onsite support come out and replace the display, or if I should just send the machine back within the 30-day period.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broke-down within 2 hours of us.. no joke. Unbelievable. I purchased P1 Gen 6 with i9 processor, RTX 4090, and 96GB RAM. I placed my order on Aug. 16th and got the laptop on Sept. 5th... and get this: it broke-down after only 2 hrs. of use. Shortly after I installed and configured my SW, it heated up and suddenly shutdown. It won't reboot. (Got the Esc. F1 F4 blinking keys indicating HW failure.) I was livid. I spend well over $4000 on a fully loaded mobile workstation, only for it to break almost immediately. I have been a Lenovo customer for a while. This is not my first P1; I also used P14s. I had trouble before, but nothing EVER remotely like this. While Premier Onsite Support will take care of it, I would like to escalate this issue to Case Support in the U.S. No one should spend thousands of dollars only to receive a defective product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop, Bad shipping experiance Love the laptop besides some slight coil whine on one of the fans. Shipping was unacceptable saying initially it would be delivered in 2-3 days but it took almost 3 weeks. Also calling to check on the shipping of my item I got told 24-48 hours three times over a week span which got extremely frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avoid the P16 with Intel AX211 adapter The P16 was exceptional for 30 days except for its fatal flaw, the Intel AX211 wireless adapter. Avoid this adapter at all costs, it is soldered to the motherboard. Internet connectivity was kaput a mere 25 feet away from a router, packet loss began immediately and internet connectivity dropped. Opened a support ticket and they had me remove the driver and reinstall to no avail. They offered to swap the board. Returned for a refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good laptop; shopping needs improvement I've been a loyal ThinkPad user for decades, and this is about my 10th ThinkPad. While this model is undoubtedly the best I’ve owned, as one would hope over time, there are a few areas worth mentioning. The Positives: • The hardware is impressive overall. • The keyboard, while slightly less sculpted than the previous model, remains functional and comfortable to use. • The screen quality is excellent, but the coating has minor imperfections (small wavy areas) that subtly detract from its sharpness compared to my previous ThinkPad. • The standout feature is the camera, which has truly exceeded expectations and is perhaps the best I've experienced on a laptop. The Negatives: • The setup process was extremely challenging, spanning over eight hours. This was reminiscent of much older, less efficient installation experiences. • The sales and support process left much to be desired. Information on the website and from sales representatives was occasionally incorrect or insufficient. Unfortunately, this is not a new issue and has been an ongoing challenge in my ThinkPad experiences. Despite these concerns, the quality of the hardware ultimately won me over. However, this may be my last ThinkPad if the issues with setup and customer support persist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ports stop working The laptop has been nothing but trouble. From the automatic features to ports not working, it’s been not good at all. I already used one warranty trip and now I’ll have to use another. The thing is, I have classes for the next seven weeks, so I can’t get it fixed until then

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High-performance and durable Workstation laptop The ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 is a powerful mobile workstation with high performance ideal for demanding professional tasks. However, its biggest drawback is poor battery longevity, requiring frequent charging under heavy workloads. This makes it better suited for stationary use rather than all-day mobility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not expect lag time I have basic needs such as reading email, checking out news, watching training videos. but I wanted something with speed and enough technology to last new a few years. I do not game. Feb 2025 I expect intel i7 32g ram and 1t drive would have no problem viewing a news feed without interruptions. I have not loaded any software or extra programs nor have i loaded pictures or used any storage space yet. I am not doing anything but accessing the internet and waitching news feeds today. I had a lot of problems watching the news reels. every reel stopped n the middle and I had to wait while a circle displayed in the middle of the screen on almost every story I watched. I did a lot of research and all the power this Lenovo laptop thinkpad boasted, I didn't expect to see any lag time for a couple years. It reminded me of back in the day when I had dialup and I had to wait for the same circle (different color) to load the program. the only higher option was an i9 and 64g but for a non gamer. why? Maybe I missed something in my research.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THINKPAD P1 Gen 6 Well, mine came with a screen flicker. Turned the resolution down and the wifi power down a notch. That solved it. The keyboard is not as sensitive as I like and they moved the Fn key to the bottom left where the Ctrl key should be. But the PC runs great and quick. Like those Thundebolt USB's. Also like the power supply not at the AC plug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Make sure there's someone to sign This isn't so much a review of the computer (I honestly haven't had time to set it up and get working on it) as it is about the purchasing experience. I purchased while the unit was on a Black Friday sale for a good price however I didn't notice that for shipments over $2000 a signature is required. I work - I didn't ship to the office and likely wouldn't have been able to get it signed for anyway - which proved to be a problem. UPS couldn't change shipping and Lenovo wouldn't change - I just wanted to do a pickup at the local UPS store... I had to leave the office and drive half an hour home just to wait around to provide a signature. If I missed UPS the unit would've been sent back and my order cancelled. This policy is not small-business friendly. To be honest, the computer could be made of solid gold and work like the Enterprise dropped through a time portal into my lap but the fact that it was so incredibly stressful just trying to receive the thing has left a bad lingering taste. Maybe it's worthwhile - my last Thinkpad is still chugging along 8 years later - but I don't need added stress around the holidays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible delivery/activation, fine laptop Laptop seems fine, but the shipping process was a stressful mess. I received notification that it would be delayed, after on the website it said a date it *would* be delivered by and I'd arranged someone to be home to sign. Then, it wasn't delayed and showed up randomly with no notification. Then two days later I received an email telling me it was out for shipment. I only received it by random luck that a person was home to sign. AND then it took days for my purchased Microsoft Office to actually be activated. I will not be purchasing direct from Lenovo anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good laptop, but arrived with minor deficiencies Received the laptop, the display is nice and everything but it lags sometimes when i turn it on which takes up from a few seconds to 2 mins, the screen keeps turning on and off and i can't do anything about it, however i don't have the time to wait for a replacement or to go check on it, so I have to deal with it and hope it keeps working, I might have to go fix it later, which doesn't make sense because if I bought something brand new, it should act like it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, has a few tiny flaws though This laptop is all I expected. The only flaws were a glitch on startup which was fixed with a bios update. Also the power button does stick a bit, but it quickly gets unstuck and doesn’t cause any problems for now. Additionally, it makes a slightly annoying high pitched sound, but I think this is only a problem if you have supersonic hearing like I do. Plus I believe this is a problem on all laptops with a GPU. The battery life works for me and could probably last anywhere from 3-9 (3 if you were gaming, rendering, or doing heavy tasks, and 9 if you were just browsing the internet or doing everyday tasks). The laptop works great for gaming and has the same capability (if not better) of my HP Pavilion gaming desktop, the only problem is the heat it produces which is pretty normal for gaming laptops. I really enjoy the backlights on the keyboard and the quality of the sound. I’d say this is a great laptop if you’re looking for something for class/work and gaming. Also the laptop is essentially silent when doing light tasks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love this machine — a true powerhouse! I’ve owned many high-performance laptops over the years, but the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 blows them all away. With its 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900H, 32GB of RAM, and blazing-fast 1TB SSD, this beast handles everything I throw at it — from large Excel files linked to SQL databases to virtualization tasks and content creation — effortlessly and without breaking a sweat. The display is stunning and super responsive, the build quality is classic ThinkPad excellence, and all the business-class features (TPM, vPro, Secure Boot, and Hypervisor protections) give me confidence in both performance and security. It’s fast, cool, and reliable — the perfect blend of power and portability. If you need a serious workstation that won’t let you down, this is it. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 Intel (16?) Mobile Workstation This is the sixth Lenovo Think product I have purchased over the years (starting with a T61 laptop back in 2005) and they were all fantastic. This one, while physically excellent, with Windows 11 is a nightmare! Computers running Windows 11 are no longer a valuable and useful professional tool. Instead they are an impediment to accomplishing any attempted serious work. I wish Lenovo was able to offer a simpler version of this OS without all the useless crap (ads, games, etc). To call computers running Windows 11 Professional a workstation is a great misnomer.

She had issues with her Adobe suit apps, Rhino 7 software, and general performance issues and errors whole doing simple things normally not requiring a workstation. Power charging issues were the last straw before we srnt it back. We'll stick with our normal HP purchases moving forward, the lowere Lenovo prices were apparently for a reason.

Only complaint is it gets hot and a little noisy when its under a decent work load. If they made it 1/4in thicker with thicker heat pipes and larger fans, it would run much quieter & cooler. The 1/4in thickness would be barely noticable... please take note Lenovo. ;)
