I was led astray. Wrong cord.
I did a search as to which cord would work for my particular laptop. The cord came and does not fit in any of the ports that I have. Very disappointed that now that it has been more than 30 days, I am unable to return it.

Doesn’t fit into my Lenovo
This may work for some Lenovo laptops, but It doesn’t fit my Lenovo Yoga 2. Grrr. Will be returning. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a HDMI adapter that fits my Lenovo. Not Good!

Connects my Thinkpad T430 to an HDMI display!
Connects my Thinkpad T430 to an HDMI display. Just had to right-click on the desktop in Windows 7 for it to "kick in" (this isn't a special step for this adapter - I find the same thing needs to be done even if I'm outputting via VGA port). Simple and works great.
