Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good after a repair Upon first receiving the product I was extremely disappointed because it began constantly crashing and rebooting-- even though it was brand new, fresh out of the box! I called Lenovo, and they sent a technician to replace the motherboard. It is nkwworking great. My model (with 16gb ram, i7 cpu, and rtx2060 gpu is lightning fast for the gaming I've done so far, and thermals seem great. It stays pretty cool. Note that I do use a laptop stand, which greatly helps with the cooling. Battery life is extremely short though, probably just over an hour. And the 230 watt charger is comically huge compared to laptops i have had in the past. In short: it is fast, it has good cooling and a decent display, and i like that the keyboard has a numpad. However, the battery life is pretty short. I liked that Lenovo customer support was pretty responsive and efficient. I would have given this 4-5 stars if not for the hardware issues right out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Bit Heavy but Overall an Amazing Laptop I'm overjoyed with the laptop. I bought it on a whim after my MacBook finally kicked the bucket and was tired of not being able to play games and work on the same laptop. The point I was most worried about was the screen since Mac is known for it's Adobe color support. After going through the monitor color calibration to match closer to a Mac screen, it looks amazing. Out of the box, it was pretty heavy on the yellow side. If you're doing graphic design, video work, or web development, I would highly suggest this laptop. The downsides are how heavy the laptop is and the charger is quite large but for the power you get and the added screen space from my MacBook, that is an easy tradeoff in my mind. Performs amazing for daily design tasks and for gaming. What more could you ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast performance whistles and bells at good price This laptop is fast! I can have over a dozen tabs running in my browser and three or four other programs running and it still responds with lightning speed. There are ample ports for accessories and peripherals. Its large yet lightweight for portability. The speakers are above average for a laptop. I like the multi-brightness option for the keyboard backlight and the ability to quiet the fans when you are not running at peak performance. You can also easily overclock the CPU with Lenovo's software. My only qualm with this device is that the screen doesnt get bright enough. It's a good display with a high refresh rate but it doesnt pop the way I want it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would definitely recommend! Wonderful computer. Super fast and pleasant minimalistic design unlike a lot of the other gaming computers on the market that are too visually flamboyant for my taste. Good computer to double for every day usage and the year of legion support is a great added on value. A little bulky so not the best if you will be traveling with it frequently as some other models but that isn't to say it is delicate or even too heavy. I'm merely pointing out that there are slimmer and lighter laptops on the market. Not a deal breaker at all for most users in my opinion however. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a high end computer for a more reasonable price than some other brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from does the job ! this bad boi here is very good at it's job , i only give it a 4 stars instead of 5 cuz i think getting th 144 Hz one is better for gaming , also an AMD RYZEN 5 or 7 could be a better option than the core i5 .

Screen looks amazing and quality of videos and gaming is perfect! Beats most of the consoles I own currently! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied Performs as expected. Note that the battery life is very short, and this is not an on the road productivity laptop. Expect 2-3 hours unplugged web browsing. My unit also had a single dead pixel, though not in a screen location where I cared enough to return for a new unit. Overall very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Gaming Laptop for the Price This laptop has very good performance for the price. Sturdy design, minimal cord clutter with all of the ports on the back. Be aware that it has a relatively short battery life, due to the dedicated graphics card, but this shouldn't be an issue unless you plan on traveling frequently or not being near an outlet. The keyboard also felt slightly cramped at first due to the number keypad, but it doesn't take long to get used to at all. Highly recommended if you're looking for a decently high-powered laptop at a midrange price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied Purchase I had to buy a new laptop for school and entertainment after my old one broke. I saw Lenovo had its semi-annual sale and took a look. I found this one and after looking at reviews and the specs, I saw it was more than able to run the software I needed for school and the games I like to play in my free time. Its a great, fast laptop, with a lot of storage. Be warned though, it can get loud when the fans turn on and don't have anything too close to the vents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs I bought this machine to replace an older laptop which, while great for business applications, didn't have a good graphics card or cooling system which made it prone to overheating while playing games with heavier graphic loads. In fairness to the old laptop, I was trying to get it to perform tasks it was never designed to handle. I also run some Adobe software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier and so on. This new Lenovo laptop handles everything I need it to do and, of course, faster. I really appreciate the bright and vibrant screen - it's excellent. A very cool if not particularly sexy feature is the Lenovo Vantage software's Thermal Mode Settings where you can set it and forget it so that the fans automatically shift from balanced to performance when launching games. Normally one of the first things I do is uninstall a manufacturer's software (and any other promotional junk but the Vantage software is really nice and there are a number of other good features available within it. If there is one complaint, it's the battery life which isn't an issue for me since I rarely end up anywhere that doesn't have an outlet available. That said, you can forget about gaming for any decent length of time while using the battery; for anything else it seems to be adequate. Depending upon your needs, you might want to upgrade the battery. Overall I'm very happy with with this machine and thrilled that it handles everything I need it to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid all around gaming laptop I've had this laptop for about a month as of this review. I use it primarily for schoolwork and gaming. Construction of the laptop is solid and seems pretty durable, be aware that the charger itself is heavy and bulky, and the laptop has a bit of heft to it while not being heavy. As far as non-gaming functions go, it runs perfect and I haven't run into any compatibility errors or poor performance while doing typical office-type tasks. When it comes to gaming, I can run older games and High and Ultra settings, games like Skyrim run consistently for me at high settings. One thing to keep in mind is that after a while of gaming, the laptop fans will kick in and it'll put off a decent bit of heat. There is an option to lower performance in exchange for a cooler, quieter run, but I haven't felt a need to use it. The heat isn't particularly noticeable when it's on a hard surface, and if your volume is on, you're not likely to notice the fan whirring either. I got the laptop on sale for around $950, for the price and quality of the laptop, I'm very pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Lenovo Legion is a winner! The Lenovo Legion is a great looking all black laptop that doesn’t scream “gaming” computer even though it is powerful with a seven core intel cpu, 512 ram and a large Invidia graphics card. I’m a 67 year old woman and I bought this laptop to edit my YouTube videos as it has all the right stuff for that. I also do a bit of gaming and love the HD picture and mat non-glare screen. This model ticked all of my boxes and it’s an esthetic joy to use.

Input (for some reason I thought it had it), and I've had a few glitches with the VR but that could just be me....will update review either up, down or the same as time goes by. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute beast of a laptop Absolutely boss laptop, ridiculously great price. This was my first gaming laptop, I’ve had powerful beast desktops but this one takes the cake. The portability does not hinder the performance, while staying relatively quiet it can still play triple A games at 1920 x 1080p resolutions. The brightness is not lacking, I was worried it would be too dim but it blew my presumptions out of the picture. I would recommend this laptop to anyone making music, playing games, or doing graphic design as it’s a one-in-all anomaly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Laptop For Even More Than Gaming I was very impressed at first use with this machine. Previously purchasing two competitor products around the same price point and returning within 24 hours, I was cautious to try another “gaming” laptop. The Legion 5i is able to play everything I throw at it, even with decent graphic settings. I’ve used it for a bit of Adobe Premier and Photoshop as well and neither had any issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the price I'm using this laptop for games, college work, and in the future, rendering software. This laptop runs really well and I haven't experienced any problems with it. The webcam and microphone are also pretty good, so I'm able to do my online college classes. The guide to set up the laptop was also really helpful which was appreciated because I'm not the most tech-savvy person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent computer! We bought this for our daughter as her old laptop was barely usable. She is not an extreme gamer, but does love to play a few things, so we needed something that would work well for that as well as the usual school/internet functions. We customized it a bit by adding extra RAM. It was easy to set up and is working incredibly well. Shipping was really fast and arrived much sooner than promised. Great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Legion 5i Powerful but Stylish Disappointments I purchased the Legion 5i premium laptop. Very nice looking laptop but if you want the back-lit ports and the legion Logo to light up, you have to ensure you add the option for RGB keyboard. I was a little disappointed when I found this out the hard way. It is not mentioned in their video that is floating around on the internet. I can live without the RGB keyboard but the back-lit ports and logo would have greatly enhanced the look and lived up to their slogan of "Stylish on the outside and Savage on the inside" The battery life when using thermal mode (balanced) through Lenovo vantage is very good. Battery life diminishes much quicker on other modes in preliminary testing. I've only had this laptop since the 20th of May

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely stunning The sheer gaming capabilities of this laptop far exceed what I had been expecting. Usually to run any sort of high powered game you need a beefy PC which ends up taking space and removes the portability significantly. With this laptop I am not only able to play virtual reality at my home, but I can also pack it up and take it towards my college studies. A good 5 stars, not only for the wonderful product, but the amount of time and detailing they put into its creation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so far so good. Only had this for a month, but so far so good. My first gaming laptop so I haven't really put it through it's paces. Temps seem to hold steady and so far I haven't seen it get even remotely hot checking through CPUIDHWMonitor. Highest I've seen is 50c after playing some online games for an hour or so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! Quiet fans, stays cool under load and fast, can't forget about that! One complaint, I managed to get my hands on the 120hz screen, I don't see why that is even an option personally. The colors are not up to par with the 60hz or 144hz models, and the backlight is dimmer. Besides that, fantastic machine, especially for the price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best I was a little skeptical on purchasing this computer due to me being a student and requiring the laptop to be away from an outlet for extended period of times. Running the computer in hybrid mode and running fans at the lowest speed has given me sufficient battery life to use my computer as a student with ease. On the other hand, this computer is a beast and fulfills all my gaming needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third Lenovo in fifteen years. Perfect replacement for my nine year old IdeaPad, runs all of my rendering software published from 1995 to 2020 with minimal tinkering. Only minor issue I've come across is that the keyboard gets warmer than I would prefer under heavy loads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good laptop for student use The laptop is a good value for the price. It fits in my backpack nicely, and has plenty of power to do whatever tasks I need, be it moderate gaming, video editing, or programming. Under normal use it is reasonably quiet, but under heavy loads (games, video exporting it can get noticeably louder. The lack of an SD card reader is a bit annoying, but the fact that all 4 USB type A ports are USB 3.1 makes it easy to use an external reader. It works well dual booting with Linux Mint as the primary OS, however some features (keyboard back-light custom colors, charging speed) only seem to be available in Windows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality for price—highly recommend Great computer for gaming on the lighter side. Handles a lot of modern games in max to high settings perfectly fine, although the fan will be extremely loud. Lighter than some other laptops so taking it places isn’t the worst. Overall very satisfied, keyboard is nice, screen is nice, speakers are nice. If you are wanting a gaming laptop this is probably one of the better cheaper ones out there. However, if you are looking to play things like the upcoming Halo Infinite or Flight Simulator you should probably invest in a stronger laptop or get a PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall Great Deal Cooling is solid, no throttling while on GTA V with high settings. I believe temperatures went up to the low 80s. Screen is alright, 250 nits brightness is enough for indoors use, and refresh rate of 120 Hz works for me. The battery life could be better (I have the 60 Wh). On quiet mode, hybrid mode, and lower brightness the laptop can sustain productivity tasks for around 4-5 hours starting at full charge. Keyboard feels great. In terms of upgrades, I added my own 8 GB stick of RAM from Hynix to the original 8 GB stick from Ramaxel and it runs fine in dual channel.

The build quality is amazing and it wouldn't look out of place in a board room, or an office. This computer has ticked every box and then some! I ordered it and it came in less than 24 hours! The performance is top notch and will definitely be using it for work, gaming, school, and creative projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Buy Normally I don’t buy New laptops after I was let down by my Sony Vaio years ago , but I decided to get this one because I heard good things from the Legion series and was looking for a gaming computer after my pc has began to get old and lately I have been on the go so it was worth a shot. It came with a customizable RGB keyboard that I wasn’t even aware about until I turned it on , was glad to see that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value for a casual gamer. I'm a casual gamer that needed a replacement laptop. This laptop meets all my needs and then some. For a gaming laptop it's got a sleek and not bulky design. The cooling fans draw from the bottom and exhaust on the sides, which is more efficient. So far I'm happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Medium-to-High Range Gaming Notebook! I bought my Lenovo Legion 5i 15 inch Laptop from Best Buy not long ago. I have played a number of amazing titles on Steam and other platforms for the computer. I think the speed of the processor is much faster than my equivalent Home Desktop gaming machine. This computer seems limitless, except for the 8 GB of RAM it came with which I plan to upgrade and the storage is limited, 500 GB of SSD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as a desktop Seems like a really good computer for the price. The battery drains within two hours but that is expected when using it for games (Minecraft, which drains the battery a ton and lags on slightly cheaper laptops), haven't used it for anything else much yet but holds a good battery when I do. Runs as good as an expensive desktop which is hard to beat being a laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Legion laptop. Great quality for price!! This computer is well built and very reliable. I am not much of a gamer but needed a high performance laptop for medical school. This fits the bill! It is not the most portable laptop due to its bulkiness (especially the charger) but for those that don't intend on carrying it around often, it is an excellent choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Budget Backpack TL;DR: Great backpack for the price. If you’re on a budget, or only need a backpack occasionally, this really can’t be beat! This backpack has been great for my needs. I recently bought a Legion 5 15.6” laptop, and wanted an inexpensive option for taking it over to a friend’s house once a week or so. I was pleasantly surprised with how roomy it is. It has two generous zippered compartments: one for your laptop, the other for your accessories. Not only does it comfortably accommodate my Legion 5, I was able to get my 14” HP laptop inside the large mesh pocket in the accessory compartment as well, and I still had room for two mice, two mouse pads, both power supplies, my water bottle, and my phone in there. I was also very surprised with the quality of this backpack at this price point. The material is much thicker than I expected, the laptop compartment is reasonably padded, and the extra padding where it contacts your back is a nice touch. It isn’t rigid enough to stand up on its own or anything like that, though, so if you’re particularly rough with your stuff, or taking this on the subway where you might bump into things on a daily basis, you may want to invest in something that offers more protection. I’d shopped around on a few other websites for similar backpacks in this price range, and it seemed like all I could find were no-name brands that reviewers warned would fall apart after a few months to a year. This backpack, by comparison, was less expensive, but I’m pretty confident it’ll last me a long time. That being said, the zippers are adequate at best, and the only real con I can think of. I imagine it’d be the first thing to fail if this backpack were receiving heavy use, but so far, they function just fine; I haven’t had to force them or had them get stuck on me or anything like that. Again, if you were using this daily, I’d recommend shelling out for a better backpack. All in all, I’ve been pretty happy with this backpack thus far, and highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Laptop so Good, Yet so Simple: I am a college student who is majoring photography and digital arts. When I was in the market in looking for a laptop, I wanted something that was both easy on the eyes (not an eyesore like intense RGB lighting or sharp design) and high performance. I had originally owned a Lenovo Ideapad before upgrading to the 5i and that Ideapad had been with me for as long as I can remember so I knew that Lenovo was the brand to go to now and forever. I had decided that the 5i was the definite choice due to its sleek, simplistic design, incredible performance, and all in all a very well built machine. I will now and forever choose Lenovo for their products, and this Legion 5i will possibly be with me for as I will live for its elegance and extremely well done performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lenovo - Legion 5 15' Gaming Laptop I bought my Lenovo Legion Laptop all excited at Costco. I was specifically looking for one that had the graphic card to play the games I enjoy and the capability of downloading all without sacrificing one game for another. Set up was a breeze but the graphic card that was promised, NVIDIA GEFORCE GTC 1660TI was not in it or at least the machine never recognized it. I had it plugged in the entire time I was setting it up and the battery never charged. By the time I was fed up with it, unplugged it and took it back to Costco the battery was down to 4% so the power cord or battery was faulty.

I like the addition of an extra USB port which is very usefull compared to other laptops with only 3. Thermals are pretty good, the laptop doesn’t get too hot while it runs modern games.Overall It’s a pretty good gaming laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I actually love this laptop Plays my games great without all the obnoxious gaming aesthetic colors on the shell. The cooling system is excellent and is my favorite part. Only frustration I have is there's no indication of where the left and right click buttons are on the track pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lenovo Legion 5i review - Insanely fast My system came with: -Intel Core i7-10750H (6c/12t) -Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti -8gb ram in single channel -512gb m.2 nvme ssd -120hz 1920x1080 ips display The ssd is the highlight of the system, its an OEM only samsung high performance ssd, I tested it at 3450mB/s write speeds and 3000mB/s read speeds, its absolutely phenomenal. Boot up time is less than 10 seconds. The CPU is a powerhouse as well and stays very cool whilst gaming or doing heavy tasks, most i've seen it get up to is 80C, can't stress enough just how fast this thing is. Graphics card is probably the most reasonable one to have on a laptop, can run any AAA game at 60fps no problem whilst coming in reasonably priced systems. The screen is decently bright and very smooth, colors look really nice too. The keyboard is unparalleled, probably the best feeling and sounding keyboard i've ever used, RGB lighting also makes it look phenomenal. The ram is kinda low but honestly i've never struggled with it, have ran games with chrome and discord opened and have experienced no issue, this does depend on your use case tho. Overall i'm very, very, very happy with this computer, would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks.... What a great experience, purchasing the Lenovo Legion 5i from Lenovo was very easy and quick, shipping was very quick as well. What I love about Lenovo is that they do not put on harassing software, just whatever is needed to support the hardware. Thanks Lenovo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Laptop for gaming and working! If there was a 4 and a Half stars I would rate it at that. Right out of the box this worked like a charm and was super easy to set up. The only reason I’m not giving it a full five is because there was some issues with the mcafee software that they pre installed which. It is kinda annoying. The other is I do a lot of coding and having a button to move around with while dealing with long code would be useful. Other than that it games well and boots up super fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and functional. Has sufficient ports. Great machine so far. I had hoped the keyboard was more like my 10 year old T 510 machine, but oh well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Beast! It's the best budget-gaming laptop out in the market. That RTX 2060, 16GB RAM, Total 2TB storage is just a powerful beast! I strongly encourage readers to consider Lenovo Legion 5i. If you choose to buy it, you won't regret it. It's a beast suitable for CS students, small businesses and medium-end gaming. Not suitable for people who want a touch display or take hand-written notes on pc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from an outstanding machine for the price This laptop has been a pleasure to use so far, and it is lighter than I thought it would be. The model that I ordered has a good keyboard and a bright screen. They have corrected the "nose-cam" position of the webcam that prevented me from buying a similar model last year, and I also like the fact that there is a mechanical slider to cover the camera when you want to be sure it is off. I had no problems with setup and I am very pleased with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking for a fast gaming laptop? This is it This computer is excellent! Definitely worth the price for a fast-enough gaming laptop! Runs most common big games with high FPS and little lagspikes. Also seems pretty durable, and has a nice smooth look. Would recommend!
