Loud with Treble without Bass
It is loud no doubt but the I was expecting little bit of bass in it because the treble hurts my ears. I do have a link10 and it works great but this one is quite annoying..

Doesn't play while charging
Quite upset this little speaker doesn't last long on a charge.... But even more ANNOYING is it WILL NOT stay playing while charging/plugged in and it has made me HIGHLY REGRET buying this speaker. I LOVE LOVE my JBL Extreme, and my Bluetooth headphones.... But this speaker is AWFUL. This is the only speaker I've EVER run into that shuts off while charging, and it can be after 2min or 20min but either way, IT WILL SHUT OFF MID CHARGE. Even OLD Bluetooth speakers don't do this. And I've tried different plugs, different cords, different adapters, it doesn't matter, it does it with the JBL, or ANY OTHER ones I use, and it does it while plugged into an extension plug, or directly into the wall. So, I've tried it all and because I'm partially deaf, I HATE that it does this bc I NEED an external speaker. The sound is great for a little compact speaker, but the charge does not last even if you FULLY charge it, don't use it for a few days, and then use it for 20min, it's already dead. Never again. I don't recommend. The short battery life isn't such a huge deal as I use it at home, but the NOT playing while charging is an absolute deal breaker.

I have had a JBL FLIP 3 for 3 years and I loved it. I was hesitant to buy the JBL GO 2 because I did not think the sound would be adequate. I was wrong, the sound is clear and powerful. I like the color and can put it in my purse.

Missing personalization
When I was ordering the JBL speaker I decided to go ahead and customize it with a picture from my camera. I created everything, added it to the cart, paid and when I received the speaker, it was plain and did not have the photo I chose as part of the personalized option. Very disappointed

Good sound but annoying startup shutdown "chime"
Good product, well built, with good sound for its size. Has a good weight to it that stops it moving around too easily. Colours are fun. Would be excellent score, however not being able to mute or turn down the startup/shutdown chime noise, which makes me jump every time when i'm working in silence after a playlist ends and it sleeps. Also annoying if you are recording for you tube and it decides to shutdown in the back ground after you stopped your music to do the recording.
Seems to be a very common annoyance among users of the product, from what just encountered while searching for a solution.
Don't let this put you off though- in every other way it is great, and I've had many BT similar speakers before.

Love my speaker of Michigan have been enjoying it these past few weeks and no complaints whatsoever! Perfect addition to take on a bike ride and mostly to use in my shower. Great color selection as well.

The product is pretty nice (considering the price) but the startup and power off (loud) sounds not deactivable prevent to use it at night
It's incredible to ruin a product with such a stupid thing, I'd just want to disable the power off sound or at least reduce the volume and it's not possible

Really nice cheap speaker!
I bought this at release date, and I'm pretty happy with it. My only complaint is the latency on the audio using the 3.5mm jack. It's not that great. The flap got a little bit of the finish rubbed off. But, I have dropped it so many times and it survived.

It's a really great speaker for the price, the bass is way stronger than most speakers its size (which can also affect the music sound quality a bit, if there's too much bass on max volume). Really nice and compact, works for 5hrs max so make you you bring a charger if you're going somewhere away.

Great Little Speaker
Replacement for one lost in my luggage while traveling. I love this speaker. Great sound in a small size, perfect for travel. How do I prevent the inactivity turn off?
It is really anoying for this speaker to be turned off automatically every 5 minute or so when there is no sound. I want it to stay connected without disconecting and having to connect it back or turn it on back. How do I do that?

i looked into the front protective grill of it and there’s a really nice 3 speaker set up inside the housing that provides crystal clear audio across the entire spectrum and the base is very present for something with this form factor. not to mention you can take it anywhere you want it fits right in your pocket but can easily provide all the music a small get together would need

I bought this JBL GO 2 speaker about a week ago. I was skeptical at first, had trouble with the instructions. After calling your service #, I was able to be guided in the setup by Chris. After that, it was easy. I am deaf in one ear and only 60% hearing in the other, so I have great difficulty in understanding all of the conversation on our Zoom meetings. Now, I can hear everything clearly and I'm able to respond when my friends speak to me. This is an awesome product! Thank you so much !

I got my GO2 and after fully charging it used it once then next time it wouldn’t turn on/off or charge etc. I used various cords and outlets but no luck. I want a working unit.

This is the 3rd JBL speaker I have purchased in the last 6 or 7 years. The older ones are still functioning perfectly; the newest one is a Christmas gift. Had I had any negative experiences with the older two, I would have not purchased this one. Also, the price was great!

Really pathetic experience
I bought this speaker few days back and from the day it delivered to me it is not charging properly the battery is always low as when i connect the charger it charges for 30-40 minutes then stops automatically. I requested for the replacement as it is a new product they say i need to visit the service center so i did and the service guy was polite and said to check it and if the problem arrives again come back to service center again. The problem is not solved. Now you tell me after buying a new product i have to go to the service center again and again as may be there is no return or replacement policy for jbl. Really pathetic experience.

Bought this for a speaker for our home computer. Instructions were non existent how to get the speaker linked up with the computer. Very frustrating! Had to go find a YouTube video for third party instructions. Finally got it to work. Sound quality is fair.

Great little speaker but microscopic instructions.
I ordered this for my son to use with the audio cable for his little drum pad, which worked fine when we finally found the cable hidden somewhere in the rolled up instructions. I tried the bluetooth technology for myself -- it was my first blue tooth experience. I'm a singer, and this enabled me to play prerecorded accompaniments from my iPhone which I sang along with. Nice sound quality, but may I say the instructions are microscopic and not helpful at all if you've never done this. I called your site's customer service, was promised a callback, but never got one. I was desperate, so I called a friend who already had one and she walked me through it. Anyway, I guess I like it a lot, cause I ordered another one for me and I won't have to keep borrowing my son's!

Size Doesn't Matter! Amazing Speaker!
Was stuck between the Go 2 or the Flip 5 since I knew the size of it meant better sounds, but ended up giving the Go 2 in Gold a chance since the price was good and I knew it would look great in my office. Even though it's small, it is by far the best little speaker I have ever owned! The quality of sound is great and loud enough for me. Bluetooth speaker is also great when on the phone. JBL never disappoints me and I own 2 other speakers from them.

I've always had small bluetooth speakers and this is by far the worst one. It's not even 3 years old and it already gives problems. It's always shutting off by itself (even if I fully charge it and whenever it does turn on, it doesn't allow me to play full volume without randomly stopping and turning off. Most definitely regret buying this speaker

A friend of mine ordered this for me off amazon and I was kind of excited as I have a JBL Charge 4 and love it. Excitement lasted 5 minutes as no activated guitar sounds come from it. My iPhone picks up the blue tooth. The buttons on the JBL interact with my phone (ie pause, volume.) There's no trouble shooting in English on the instructions. I connected it via an audio cord to my phone. still nothing. volume is turned up all the way. again this speaker arrived today and it docent work. I've reset my bluetooth, forgot device, reassigned and now it won't connect. What is up with your broken gear?

My favorite small speaker, excellent mid-range!
I haven’t found a speaker this size that has a better mid-range. I’ve tried many others, even the JBL Go 3, the JBL Clip 4… but this one always wins out. Whatever driver they put in this speaker is quite frankly the best they could’ve put in for watching shows and movies. Other speakers can get loud, but the balance always favors bass and the lower end over the mid-range. The result is the drowning out of vocals even at high volume. But not this one. The JBL Go 2 is actually backwards- the bass is there but not overpowering, and the mids are extremely strong. That’s what makes this the ideal speaker for watching shows and videos with vocals. You don’t have to be at max, or even near max, to hear the voices come out clearly. When I use my other similarly-sized speakers, I often have to crank them to max to get the vocal volume I want.
This is a great speaker that I hope they keep manufacturing. It has a good place on JBL’s lineup, even with the more rugged JBL Go 3’s existence.

A Table-Top L100?
We bought one blue and one green speaker to sit with us while we wash cars and garden. Of course, it doesn’t compete with the great JBL L100 audiophile speakers! But this mighty-mini speakers put out an almost full sound. As you’d expect, a little bass shy due to their size, but much better than a lot our OEM auto rigs. These will charge in less than 2.5 hours with appropriate super-plugs. Overall, for a nightstand table, Adirondack chair, workbench, or sitting on a bucket, these babies rock. Listened to jazz, classical, and 60-70’s rock and was never disappointed. Very Highly Recommended, especially for the price/performance.

An excellent small bluetooth speaker that goes anywhere! It rests easily on my shower stall in its waterproof cover. Perfect for bedside table or nearby my massage table. Clarity and quality works well also with audio cord directly from my devices, a feature I found sadly missing in larger JBL bluetooth speakers.

I just got mine in the mail and immediately tested it! Audio is super clear, bass is perfect AND it’s loud enough for an apt. where you have roommates who don’t need to hear your entire playlist, but also low enough to be able to hear whatever’s playing when the volume isn’t even 1/2 to max volume. Be clear, This is not a house party speaker but is a Great lil speaker! It is a tad bit smaller than I thought it would be but still super cute, perfume and works well!

I've had this speaker for several months now and I love it. The sound quality is top notch, it goes pretty loud. I use it as my computer speaker and do plenty of binge-watching, but I only have to charge it every few days. I've owned many portable speakers over the years from low end to high, this is definitely the best value for the price.

Good little speaker for the price
I got this on sale for $29 and for the price it is really good. My son got JBL speaker for Christmas a few years ago and he uses it all the time and it puts out some really good sound. I don't this speaker does as well as his but it wasn't as expensive or as big as his.

This bluetooth speaker is perfect for me. I was looking for something to take anywhere, was easy to use, had sound quality 2nd to none and was robust enough to take into the shower (water resistant)--not in the shower itself, but set on a shelf alongside the shower, so there was still steam/high humidity. This small (the size of 2 credit cards side by side) packs great sound! I love it and hope it lasts a long time!

This little device is a marked improvement on the original go speaker. I think the edition of a passive radiator has really helped the bass. If you want something that is ultra portable and has a nice sound look no further. Well done JBL!!!

Great speaker.. for its size. Bought instead of jbl clip and I am impressed with the waterproof design, super fast connection and bass radiator. That said the bass isn't that great but for the compromise of such a small speaker it's definitely better than expected. I haven't run mine in yet so things may improve in the low end. Accessories are available to make it more like the jbl clip for a few pounds extra so I made the right choice.

I bought this because it I should portable, light and funky. The sound is good provided you are in line with the speaker, but that’s to be expected. Easy to use and to connect. My only issue is the “boing” sound when it comes on or off...when you are trying to create a quiet meditative space it is not quite the right thing!

My father had bought me this speaker a few months ago, and I loved it. This thing gets pretty loud and has crisp highs and punchy bass, but just not deep. It is not hiss free, but its not that hearable. I take this thing everywhere and anywhere because of how compact it is. The only thing that bothers me is how easy it is to scratch the grill. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to take great sound on the go, hence the name, GO 2.

I bought one of these for my wife and my sister for Mother's Day. They both loved it. The design ends up a bit like a Monet. It looks great from just about anywhere, if you look really close the detail is hard to decipher. But like I said it looks great. The added plus, is it sounds great too. I have ordered personalized items from no-name brands before and they may look okay, but don't function well at all. This however was the complete opposite. And props to JBL for fast, and I mean fast service! My sister received hers in about 3 days from order to delivery.

Been using the Go2 for a couple of weeks now, fabulous sound and from such a small package. Great for streaming when busy in the kitchen. Great sound for spoken word and music of all kinds. Really good for transforming the 'tinny' sound out of laptop speakers in to a near cinematic experience. Nice touch to include the 3.5mm cable for universality.

bought this a few months ago and I love it so much !!! its very light and holds its charge for a long time, so its great to take out on adventure as well as it being waterproof its great for listening to music in the bath/shower. The only down side is the bluetooth has limited range but I've not found this too much of a problem. 10/10 would recommend

Bought 2 GO 2's for my Granddaughters. I checked both before gifted and was blown away at the sound quality and volume. The girls thought it was so cool they had their names on the grill. for its size it is astonishing but JBL could spare us customers listening to those sounds ever time you switch on, connect or disconnect. They are just way, way, way too long and unnecessary and could be replaced with the LED signals or at least short beeps.

I got this little speaker as a gift for someone and the level of customization is amazing! Great print quality and color selection, you can’t really find any other speaker that lets you customize the design to this level. It sounds pretty good too, although it doesn’t collapse stereo to mono, rather just plays the mid channel.

Crackling sounds!
My go2 right out of the box, when I paired it with my phone it crackles. I have to either move my speaker or my phone fair away sometimes up to 3 metres to get the crackling to stop! It's clearly an issue of Bluetooth interference. I tried several different Bluetooth devices and they face the same issue with proximity to the speakers!

Great little speaker for the short time it worked
I bought this a few months ago and used it sparingly off my computer. Connected via bluetooth without problems. However it developed a problem where after anywhere from 2-3 to maybe 30 seconds, it shuts itself off. I've tried all the solutions that I've found and nothing seems to resolve the issue. The only way I can keep it on is to leave it connected to a power cord. So much for bluetooth/remote.

This product was recommended to me by my MacBook Pro repair shop. I had had one speaker in my Mac Book Pro go out with a twice within a few months. He noticed I had the volume set on high and recommended this product to protect my internal speakers. He had purchased a couple for his children and was very satisfied with the product. When i purchased my speaker, I also purchased one for my husband. He had not been able to listen to his MacBook Pro without using a headset. The speaker solved his problem and the headset is no longer necessary.

The speaker is small looks nice you look at it and your maybe having little expectations however turn it on connect bluetooth and see how clear and amazing that sound is raise the volume and notice it fills way more then just a room a living room and more very loud to the point it actually pushes air out the speaker. Definitely buy worth it absolutely plus it has very tiny rubber point legs which keep locked in the ground and is also waterproof.

I bought the personalized JBL speaker as a gift for my younger sibling and she loved it. You can add almost any image to the front of it and it makes for a great gift that everyone is sure to like and inquire about. This is the second one I purchase for a gift and it definitely gets attention from other people who see it. Everyone asks me where I got it and how I personalized it. We love it! Also, the music sounds great on this speaker. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Excellent value for money.

Cannot pair 2 or more together
Very surprised that you cannot pair 2 or more of these together. My presumption was that I would be able to at the price point and since it is JBL/Harmon. I bought 2 onn speakers at my local WalMart for $24.00 and they can pair. The onn speakers were roughly half the price of these and have superior sound. Richer depth and bass. I paired the onn speakers and connected via bluetooth to my TV and they sound great. The only pluses for the JBLs are the small size and that you can take a phone call. Other than that, make sure whatever you purchase can at least pair. I will keep one of the JBLs in my bathroom and the other in the garage. Was hoping to pair them and have them in the garage.

Maybe my expectations were too high after reading so many great reviews, but I was a little disappointed in the sound quality when it arrived. It looks great though and for its price, it's absolutely fine for personal use but I think I'd be too embarrassed to offer it up in a group setting when other people are sure to have better speakers. Being waterproof is a good bonus.

bought one 2 years ago, it was great value for money BUT since june, the speaker shutdowns by it self randomly, sometime i can play music for 1h and it shutdowns, and sometimes it shutdowns after 30 seconds of playing music, no matter if the speaker has just been fully rechargged or reseted ( 30s pushing power boutton.
after it powers down i can power it on again, and then it can aleatoy remain on for 20 min, one hour or just some seconds, and this can repeat for hours and hours, so is not the battery.
this problems happens less often with volume set between medium and loudesst

I already have a larger JBL Go and am happy with the sound quality of this smaller version which I use for travel. Unfortunately, people have trouble hearing me when using it as a speakerphone which - sadly - defeats the purpose of this buy to some extent.

I purchased my JBL 2 a couple of months ago. Sound overall is pretty good for the size.
When talking on the phone it tends to cut out. It's not a lot of fun telling someone hold on while I go to my phone's speaker instead.
When listening to music via my Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet with it...No Complaints!
I'm surprised of the sound for a small speaker.
Glad I got it. Only wish I had a choice of colours instead of Black. Dullsville!

Ideal for what I want
I was looking for a compact Bluetooth speaker with good sound balance, being disappointed with one I've had a few years from another brand that is too basey and muffled. This JBL GO2 performs just how I had in mind - great sound, good Bluetooth connection, water-resistant, good battery life. I use it to listen to Internet radio with my tablet and you can easily adjust the volume and stop/start play from the speaker controls. Very happy with it.

Perfect
I do a lot of work outside with yard work and grilling. I use to lug out the boom box, which it was ok but it was a hassle to keep moving from the backyard to the front yard. The JBL GO 2 works perfect for my needs I can just pick it up and move it without unplugging. It is so powerful for such a small box. I am totally pleased with this product. I know I will be doing some Christmas shopping through this sight. Thank you for being true to your word.

Bluetooth quality

Would have rated 5 stars but getting to the point of placing the order was a little rough. Received speakers a week ago.I ordered as an incentive for employees who are fully vaccinated. Trying to actually get to the right department and talk to someone to get our order processed was not easy and at times frustrating, but, once I did get to the right person, she was very helpful and the order process from there went smooth and and turn around time time once I actually got the order placed was excellent. Our logo looks great on the speaker.

Lovely & good-sounding
I chose Lenovo's Ideapad Y700 laptop 4 years ago over the its competitors mostly because of its built-in JBL speaker system (2 x 2W speakers + a 3W downfiring subwoofer). It sounds awesome for a laptop (Dolby Audio off for music, and Movie mode for movies). The only caveat is that its volume is limited. So I decided to buy a GO 2 based on my already-good experience with JBL.
I don't regret it. For its price, it has more-than-acceptable sound quality and volume. It's louder than my laptop and can easily fill a small-to-average room. There are other options in the market that have managed to sound better while keeping the small form factor, but they are understandably more expensive. JBL GO 2 in the other hand, has a very cute design and is IPX7-rated.
I've been using it daily for about a month and here are some findings:
- You can't go back to the previous song by triple-pressing the play button.
- You can activate Google Assistant (Android) or even Cortana (Windows 10) by holding the play button.
- It uses another driver for voice playback as a speakerphone.
- To prevent clipping, distortion and damaging the driver, it limits the volume during complex passages of heavy music (like metal or rock, etc.). I noticed that if you tame the bass frequencies using an equalizer, the limiting doesn't happen anymore. So a bassless EQ is highly recommended for complex and loud music genres (I noticed it reduces battery consumption considerably too). It's not necessary for conventional pop and rap music though.
- Downmixing stereo channels to mono helps increasing the volume.
- I recommend foobar2000 for applying the above 2 settings.
Finally I suggest JBL to make color options more "alive", as they're too dull and lifeless in my opinion (maybe except the blue one). Mine is Ash Gray.

Startup noise is a big buzzkill
I previously left a pretty good review of this, but I ultimately bought this product for work since my new pc's built in speaker is terrible, I just wanted something small for my desk to project the music more my way. The problem is there is this obnoxiously loud startup noise that you CANT turn off!! What a freaking horrible idea to not have a toggle, OR to set the noise to mimic the current volume level you set it at. The "sleep" noise is the same, so every time you turn it off or it auto sleeps it makes this equally loud, equally annoying noise. I knocked off two stars for this because what a pain to deal with in this deathly silent office I work in. My manager was just in here talking to me for a few minutes when it auto when off and we both nearly jumped out of our skin. I was not in a position to purchase anything more expensive, as I know the better models can connect to the app to turn the noise off, so it's pretty unfair to me that I don't have this feature. Honestly, if it weren't such a hassle, I'd consider returning it, but I threw away the box already. This is probably fine for people just taking it with them for other activities, but not for my situation.

crackling after 6 months
Worked great for the 1st 6 months. Now crackles constantly. Same for my JBL headphones. Very short product life. Shame as JBL used to be such renowned audio brand, especially for speakers.

No battery indicator and slow charge. Bad
I have recently purchased JBL go 2 plus, I have no complaints regarding sound it's the JBL standard decent sound and what you expect from a compact speaker.
Two big downside and negatives are :-
1. No battery indicator and no app to know what is battery percentage, this is so basic. Disappointed
2. Long charging time 2.5hrs which year is this 2007?

Great audio
The color was even nicer than I thought it would be. On the website it looked like a bright cherry red but in person it's a darker red, way better than I thought it could have. The sound is loud and clear which I loved. It was a gift for my husband & he absolutely loved it. The shipping was also really fast.

annoying interface sound
the ignition, pairing and standby sounds are completely stupid. It's so nice to fall asleep to music before being awakened by this horrible disco sound. Why? I rarely use it anymore, only outside and I fall asleep with music from my iphone speakers, like before. Thanks JBL, it's going to be hard to keep me coming back.

Great sound, but not holding a charge
My wife bought this speaker about 3 months ago. She keeps it hooked up to the power and after about 2 months it started turning off after a couple hours (even when hooked up to the USB charging)

I ordered two of these using my own photos, and the results are excellent! You may want to brighten up your photos on your device before submitting them, as I did, but you won't be disappointed!

THE WORST
Honestly had high hopes for this speaker but it is of the poorest quality. It doesn't emit sound. I have literally tried everything so don't try to tell me to turn it off and turn it back on again, etc. Luckily this was a gift for my classroom but I will never buy this brand and will never recommend this brand to anyone. Worthless.

Faded in the sun, no returns (personalized)
I love how easy it was to personalize. Looked great, sounds good but I left it on my car’s dashboard for one day and it lost the vibrant color of my design under some sunlight. I’ve had it less than two weeks and the paint already started to fade. I wish they put better quality paint.

Good value BUT color does not match product image
The picture shown in the website is misleading. I purchased a product in "Champagne", but in real life it looks more like a tacky gold color that you find in a Crayola box. That said, I got in on a 25% discount so I won't be returning it (the other colors are sold out. The quality is okay at this price point but definitely lacking in comparison to the Flip 4, which I also own.

Great Mini Speaker
I purchased this product a few weeks ago. My daughter has the JBL Flip 5 for college and that is a phenomenal product. I needed something smaller just to take from room to room. The Go 2 is better than expected. I has great sound quality and a good range. It doesn't have as much bass as I would like but it's more than enough. I use the speaker a lot during the day so it only last about 3.5-4 hours for me. I wish it lasted a little longer. It portable and fits into a backpack, a tote, or even a small purse. I love it - it's just what I needed.

Won’t hold a charge
I almost never use it and it will not hold a charge. It’s practically brand new. It will only work when it’s plugged in. I’ve tried different cords and different outlets.
