IBM's DB2 is a relational database management system that is at the core of many business-critical systems. It is fully Web-enabled, scalable from single processors to symmetric multiprocessors and to massively parallel clusters; and features multimedia capabilities with image, audio, video, text, spatial and other advanced object relational support.

DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition is an unlimited-usage model based on the Millions of Service Units per hour (MSU) entitlements of the DB2 Universal Database. The MSU model allows unlimited user access, as long as the host machine is fully entitled for its processing capacity. An MSU entitlement must be obtained for each MSU on the DB2 host system. When this option is used, the customer need not count users of the DB2 Connect product. Only one server install is required for each customer utilizing the MSU licensing.

IBM DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition - license + 1 Year Software Subscription is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid database. Most of my experience of this system was as an end user and applications developer, and not as an administrator. My impressions of it were largely favorable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the great, core relational database systems. Hugely powerful and often found running in the largest of environments. Really good choice for massive data, especially when running on Power platforms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very stable and useful product. Initial learning curve is hard. Product scales from small size to enterprise size and capabilities. Can be used in several operating systems. Runs very stable on Linux. I have administered BI distributed databases on multiple linux servers for TB sized data. Highly available solutions always require strong support.
