My Experience with the HP ZBook Fury G1i 16 Mobile Workstation
I really enjoyed using the HP ZBook Fury G1i 16 Mobile Workstation, and in many ways, it was exactly the system I was looking for.
From a performance standpoint, it was exceptional. The workstation handled CAD, data analysis, and demanding multitasking with ease. I especially appreciated the AI-related capabilities and integrations, which felt genuinely useful rather than gimmicky. The sound system also stood out—it was top notch and noticeably better than what I’ve experienced on most professional laptops, making long work sessions more enjoyable.
The system felt extremely well constructed and thoughtfully designed. From the build quality to day-to-day usability, it truly felt like a “dream specs” mobile workstation that could replace a desktop while still offering flexibility.
Unfortunately, my experience took a sharp turn after about a week of use. The system suffered a fatal failure without a clear cause. It began to lag unexpectedly, and when I attempted a restart, the reboot failed entirely. The screen would not display anything, indicator lights blinked, and the fans spooled up to full speed. The system never recovered.
I contacted HP support twice who were helpful and ultimately assisted me with returning the system. While the return process itself went smoothly, the failure significantly impacted my confidence.
What’s most disappointing is that I genuinely loved the system when it was working. I wish I still had faith in it, because it was an exceptionally capable and well-built workstation. However, experiencing a catastrophic failure so early has negatively affected my perception of HP overall, and it has left me hesitant to try another HP product. I’m now without a workstation, which makes the experience especially frustrating.
In summary, the HP ZBook Fury G1i 16 delivered outstanding performance and usability, but the reliability issue ultimately overshadowed what was otherwise an excellent product.

Waste of money
Catastrophic failure within two weeks, crashed and booted to a black screen. Could do nothing. Customer service could not fix it.
