Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast but not as fast as I'd hoped. from the specifications I was expecting better performance.It's fast, but it stutters playing YouTube videos sometimes. The integrated video controller is not good enough for 3D CAD like Fusion 360. It works, but I get a warning from the software. I haven't tried any big assemblies yet. Although there are several USB ports there are no type C ports, which I would expect on a modern high end system. The initial setup of the Windows 11 was easier than I expected and it did pull in a lot of settings and files from cloud back up seamlessly. I got to experience this twice because I had to re-image the system in the first 24 hours. The HP technician walked me through it and inserted the driver update steps at the right point. I haven't had the chance to really work the system hard, but processing 3d scans is a lot faster than my old system. I was surprised that HP did not supply screws for the M.2 slots.

Was not looking for a new computer but this special was too good to past up. i9 , 32 Gb , 1TB M.2, 3 year warranty, plus more. Added GTX 3060 ti after market. Had issue with the installation. Would not recognize card. It turned out to be the power adapters that came with my Zotac card. The extra power connector ( single pin ) was wrapped out of sight. Working great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Workstation for Large Data Jobs I bought the Z2 Tower G9 to replace my Z2 Mini G4, and this workstation just screams through python data manipulation and analysis tasks. Very very happy, easy to upgrade with zero tools, the BIOS and drivers are stable with WIn11, and it's awesome that my old Mini G4 is still seeing updates too. I wouldn't buy anything else but HP Z, they are nailing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tower of Power: HP Z2 Tower G9 By combining Intel's 12th gen Core I9 processor with Nvidia's latest Ampere graphics and 4800 MHz DDR5 memory, the HP Z2 Tower G9 offers the tech professional an enormous amount of compute power in a small, attractively priced package, especially when combined with Windows 11 Pro. The option of adding an SD card reader together with a 20GB/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 front port is also nice; however, I do wish two or more Flex I/O modules were available for install. While the system seems well engineered, quiet, and efficiently packaged, the rather bland-looking black case is somewhat disappointing when compared to the superb industrial design of my Z2 Mini G3. The internal layout also appears rather cramped, making the addition of a third M.2 SSD rather inconvenient. Free shipping, outstanding customer communications, and the ability to customize the workstation to one's liking is also much appreciated, making the HP online shopping experience painless, even pleasant.

But the high prices and sketchy availability of components drove me to consider name brand shelf options. Took me a while, but I (finally) stumbled upon HP's professional workstation machines. I was very impressed with the capabilities of the machine, and the fact that HP allowed me to customize the machine. But the icing on the cake was the deep discounts that followed! Overall the machine is very impressive. Makes no noise (fan speed) 99.8% of the time; runs very cool; the machine is very capable and fast; the machine handles every sort of multi-tasking that I've (deliberately) thrown at it. I love this machine!

I can see including trial software with pre-built PCs, but not when someone is selecting each component. Otherwise the Z2 is working as expected. Still happy with the purchase, but knocked a star for the unwelcomed extras.

The 4 stars comes from the fact the PC would not boot up when I received it. 5 stars to the post sale support. Patrick was top notch. It was great to speak to a well speaking human being on my call. After trying various scenarios, a corrupt bios install was the culprit, and the PC has been flawless ever since. Cudos to HP for the understandable tech support agents and quick resolution of a manufacturing issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from H2 tower G9 works as expected First time use H2 Tower G9 workstation. I'm happy that I can create multiboot operating systems as expected. It works great. So far so good. No complains so far. I chose HP because Dell salesmen told me that Dell allows using only one bootable operating system on Dell's workstation. By the way, to access to the BIOS, just need to connect the monitor (DP, HDMI) to the Nvidia video card (mini-DP). The only thing that hasn't figured it out is how to set up the ECC RAM and ensure the ECC feature working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So close, but a little ways to go It would be 5 stars, but as a new machine with a PCIe 5 slot, it doesn't have a PCIe 5 power cable, also it didn't come with the required NVMe standoff/screw which even the parts department doesn't know how to order the part. Otherwise, I still am happier than when I tried to buy from Dell which I had been doing for the last 9 computers straight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wolf Security horror show I have always counted on HP to provide a good and reliable product, but the inclusion of Wolf Security has changed my mind. What passes for security has become a nightmare. While i would have appreciated the extra security for surfing the web or downloading content, this security application has making working with my own files nearly impossible. there is no clear path, if any, to exempt my files from the straight jacket of Wolf Security, and after several weeks of frustration i had no choice but to uninstall the app. HP would have been better off not installing the app in the first place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too Loud, horrible fan noise. Fast processor and machine like you would expect with 13900K. However, when actually using for calculation the fan noise is really obnoxious. You would thin for $3k they would put in a low noise fan. Keep your noise cancelling headphones charged and on or this machine will drive you crazy. You may have to buy a pair of headphones for the guy in the next cube.

But there is something very reassuring in purchasing a customizable computer from a quality computer manufacturer like HP. My wife and I are using our recently purchased HP desktop in our home office and are very satisfied with its performance. It’s Windows 11 Pro OS updates without a hitch (albeit a tad too often— not HP’s fault). The computer is fast, quiet and reliable. The discounted price was an irresistible incentive to make this purchase. I highly recommend this desktop computer from HP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor communiton in Setup and Customer Service After computer arrived I connented the monitor to the dsplay port after purchasing a HDMI to Display play port at Walmart. At the start the computer wiith 16 MB ram worked very slow, so 48 MB of memory, the system speed increased. A few days later it would not power on, after several attempt to self help on HP support site which would not add the computer to my Dash Board because it could not find their own page for my system. I called tech support, the Rep. advised me to remove the NVIDIA graphics card, and after reinstalling the Windows 11 operating system on my own, computer works fine. At no time was I informed that I need to plug the monitor to the mini-display port on the Graphics card. Quick setup says connect monitor to computer, not to graphics card. This is not my first rodeo, I have been using HP computers for over 20 years, they make good computers. Customer Service is and has been an issue for the past few year.s

I wanted to try some new AEC software, but it only ran on Windows. At the time, HP had a 50% off sale on their entry level workstations, so I bought one. I don't regret the purchase. They've done a good job of reducing the footprint and the machine runs very quiet. I added a PCIe sound card after the purchase. HP has a clamp to hold the PCIe cards in place and it seemed very awkward to use, that's the reason for 4 stars out of 5. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.

Came with 32 GB of memory, I expanded it to 128 GB. I have added two 8 TB M.2 SSD hard drives and one 2.5" 16 TB SSD to create a monster. Using mainly for video work. (Magix Vegas) Couldn't be happier with this machine! PS, HP's Workstation phone support is one of a kind. They have gone above and beyond to help me with any and all of my questions. Thanks again!

The PC is virtually noiseless and the processor and graphics card temperatures are far cooler than temps on the replaced computer. Windows 11 and copilot perform well. The.Wolf security software package is NOT cumbersome and doesn’t interrupt what I am doing. All programs and files ported easily.

Had no issues setting up this tower, it was a quick process. Outlook is now very fast and responsive. I did not realize that the tower did not come with a DVD drive, but I imagine if I ever need to use a DVD, I can buy a cheap DVD drive that connects via USB.

I've been transferred 3 times because someone keeps saying its a "business laptop". Spoken to two different people went through serial number roulette and still sitting on hold. I just want to know why my machine doesn't have the USB-C in the front LIKE THE PHOTO SHOWS!

It’s been a few years since I bought a new desktop, and I wasn’t aware of the different video cables needed for this pc. The support is another thing. I have been trying to register this pic for over a month. I enter my serial number and it tells me that it is not a valid number. There is no contact phone number on the website and their Facebook page is worthless.

Because there were vague or very few instructions regarding what cables to use and instructions about the "display port" connections the difficulty was in what exactly did I need to use to change from my old devices to the new, i.e., the monitor. I feel there should be far more instructions included in the box than you had and also there should have been a choice of cables and cable connections included. I found it absolutely ridiculous to have to call HP three different times for technical help. Overall, once the system was up and running, I am thoroughly satisfied, and I am also glad that I got the Wolf Pro Security package which was a great addition compared to other antivirus software.

I have waist several weeks not been able to properly use the tower, every time i request help with copilot i read and fallow the instructions, I get referred to your repair agents for a charge. It was OUTSTANDING because of David Baca. First, it wasn't an off shore encounter which earns HP several stars from my perspective. After setting up the PC with my older monitor I noticed blue/pink lines shooting across the screen. I called support and David quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty video cable. Beyond that he explained the PC in depth and answered all questions I had. He also scheduled a call the next day to make sure all was okay. He was timely with that call and continued to explain and answer my questions. Just a great experience. Enough so that I steered away from the curved screen monitor I was going to purchase and went with an HP model David recommended. HP is fortunate to have David and if you get him on a support call, I know you will be pleased as well.

The transition from 10 to 11 is different, but providing more that I was accustomed to. Many features that I know I will come to love, once I understand all of them.

(BTW - Try finding a Tower PC with more than two PCI slots). The HP Z2 G9 meet my expectations and then some. Decked out with 32GB of Memory, 1TB SSD and 8GB Graphis card, this is a serious Workstation and get this, at an affordable price. Yes, it costs a little more than a Tower PC, but the upgrade in hardware capability is worth it over the long run. Thanks HP, for keeping this higher end PC option available to consumers that need more than the typical Tower PC can provide!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP be clear about WIFI My organization needed an entry level workstation. The sale of the product went smooth with the HP agent online. The price was reasonable. Please note, when purchasing a power house PC be aware that some do not have built in WIFI connectivity. This can be a problem if you need to get up and running before you have a dedicated ethernet line. This delayed us as we first had to contact HP and figure out if it had it or not, this process was not convenient as staff passed the buck, we did confirm we were dead in the water with no WIFI, we were provided possible options including a return paying a cost difference which would have set us back weeks. Solution: We ended up purchasing an external adapter. If you have ethernet ready to go, this computer will meet your needs.

I can't even review the PC because I can't get into it as my windows Password requires a key that will not work on the included keyboard. Absolutely pathetic QC that they don't check all keys on a keyboard work, and the quality of the keyboard is pretty low to begin with. For a high-end PC like this, I expect something of quality in the box OR NOTHING. That way I know I need 3rd party accessories instead of including these kiddy peripherals.

I wanted to replace my old HP because the optical DVD drive did not work, which I told the lady I chatted with afterwards. There was not DVD player in it, I needed to buy another monitor that would connect with the new one, and a devise to transfer data, which was advertised as a bundle cable and link (erroneously), and I ended up having a very good Z2 G9 Tower Workstation that doesn't have what I wanted'
