Terrible
Terrible product and terrible sales service.
The computer has countless issues: it freezes, restarts, and doesn't work well with Microsoft Teams and Office 365; plus, I’ve been asking for an invoice for two months and still haven't received it.

Love my OmniBook 7 16"
This is an awesome laptop with a great screen. The day after it was delivered, I started getting the Video Memory Management Error "Blue Screen Of Death" and then it would restart. I went to Intel's website and downloaded updated drivers as well as Intel Driver & Support Assistant and Intel Graphics Software. Everything is working as it should now. This thing is fast and has plenty of storage for me. I have no complaints. This laptop is lightweight and the keyboard keys feel nice while typing. Look no further, this is the laptop you want!

Touch Pad Stinks
Over all, I really like the notebook. It's fast, screen is clear. There is one thing that is bringing this review down, the touch pad. The pad is absolutely HORRABLE! It's too sensitive in some cases and not sensitive enough in others. You barely touch it and it moves, have to pound on it to click. It's ridiculous. I've tried changing every setting, reloaded drivers, it's very frustrating. I don't understand how you can release this in everything you sell. I think my HP days are over!

Great laptop runs fast. Fan is quiet compared to many laptops. My one complaint is that the Face ID stinks. I’ve rescanned my face multiple times. It never seems to work and the computer wants to use it for everything. Had to go in and mess with the settings.

Sold a lemon
Horrible experience. HP sold me a lemon and wouldn’t take back. Bought a new computer to start a new job. When trying to set it up, it would not allow me to be my own administrator, no access to alter my security preferences. Despite this, I needed to start using it to begin training for my new job. Turns out this issue is due to the fact the computer was shipped to me with multiple corrupt files! When this was finally established, 5+ hours on the phone over the course of 2 weeks, I asked for it to be returned. This request was unable to be honoured as I was 2 days past my 30 day return period! Remember this issue started 2 weeks ago and was only able to be properly diagnosed 14 days later, well within my return period. Apparently the only solution was to send a flash drive to wipe and rest my computer. All of the work I'd done was lost, hours of my life lost, training for my new job compromised because HP sold me a product that came with corrupt files. No physical location to seek help! Would never purchase again from HP.

Junk Software
Laptop itself is a good product for a reasonable price. A major problem was preloaded One Drive which automatically forced cloud backups into a very small 5GB storage, which when full almost immediately caused problems opening many files. Many people do not want to put their data in the cloud, encrypted or not, as they do not trust its privacy, or else, do not want to pay for a forced upgrade to a larger storage.

Unboxing HP OmniBook 7
I’m genuinely happy with my purchase from the HP Store. The laptop arrived exactly as ordered, and everything—from the build quality to the smooth setup—felt right from the start. It performs well and suits my needs perfectly. Overall, it was a stress-free buying experience, and I’d confidently recommend HP to anyone looking for a reliable laptop.

Beautiful, well built, well equipped, and well priced machine. Set up and personalization went very smoothly. Very comfortable keyboard. Love the overall performance. But...Keeps interrupting my work "reminding" me to set up features I don't want/need. AI seems "opt out" rather than opt in. I'm still learning. Bottom line, very favorable experience so far.

Terrible customer service. Delivered 3 weeks after promised delivery date, after canceling order.
I ordered this laptop on black Friday as a Christmas gift, with scheduled delivery date in the first week of December. At the time it was supposed to be delivered, I got an email indicating it was significantly delayed. I called and was told it would not arrive until after Christmas. During the course of hours of calls to customer service, I was offered inferior alternative computers that could be delivered earlier, or even to "hope for the best" that it might arrive on time. The week before Christmas I finally gave up, cancelled the order, then purchased an equivalent computer from Costco (which was delivered like 2 days later). Even after canceling the order HP proceeded with shipping the computer to my house, which I then had to decline receipt by the shipping company. Then I had to call back again to get my refund, even though I had cancelled the order directly with a manager. I will never again buy something from HP.

Faulty hardware “brand new” omnibook 7
Custom made laptop purchased and built from October 12. Received delivery, October 31. It was accessible until November 12. I don’t know what happened but since I purchased from the web and from custom build- it seemed like it was put other inefficiently. The hardware was faulty, of mo fault of my own out of the 2 to 3 hour usage every other day. I conversed with support and now with Melchie. Last status update was a part that was low in inventory… for a laptop well known and always have something available, this is just crazy. I got it based on the 4.7+ reviews. I find it questionable. Will also dispute charge of the full price I paid for if it is not ‘repaired’ or remade and returned in due time. I will update review soon.

Purchased during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale for a great price. Excellent performance with Intel Ultra 5 processor, 16 MB RAM and 1 TB solid state drive. The 16 inch screen has very good resolution. The laptop is solidly built with a good selection of ports and convenient keyboard with numerical key pad. Very little dfifference in weight compared to an OmniBook 5 with similar configuration.

Need a better "mouse" screen at the bottom of the laptop
I really like my new HP laptop. My only complaint is the little screen you use if you don't have a mouse. The toggle left or toggle right doesn't work very well; however, I have my laptop on a docking station with a separate keyboard and mouse so it is not an issue. Lastly, please offer security programs with differing levels of security upfront so folks know exactly what coverage they receive. I didn't realize I wasn't getting the best security concerning future scans, blocks, etc with the level of security I bought from McAfee and it would have been nice to know the pricing and functional differences in better detail before buying.

OminiBook 7 16t - good with lots of options
I'm just an average home user - Great laptop with lots of available add-on options - the display is nice and bright and fills most of the screen - the keyboard keys are nicely spaced and responsive - like that the keys are a different color than the laptop -
Cons: wish HP would have kept the dedicated power port and cable - feel like daily using the USB-C port will cause damage or the port will become loose - it just seems cheap robbing the customer of an additional USB-C port
Lots of Blot-ware that had to be deleted or disabled but that comes with most manufactures

Worst purchase I have made in a long time
The touch pad is loose, and makes rattling noises. The keyboard will randomly press buttons or hold down a key even after releasing it. And the bezel around the screen is too tight and putting pressure on the screen causing distortions to the colors. I tried getting a replacement, and they wanted me to pay even more money while waiting another month for it to be built. To add insult to injury, they took 4 weeks past the original promise date to even ship the original one I have. I will never buy another HP in my life. Even if it sounds lile a good deal compared to another brand, you are money ahead staying away from HP.

Quick, clear
The transition from my HP Envy to the OmniBook has not been simple or smooth. The keyboard seems tighter causing me to miss keys. The numeric keyboard section is nice to have, but it is undistinguishable from the rest of the keyboard, so I used a marking pen to guide my eyes to the keys. The lack of an SD slot surprised me, but a USB reader device solved that issue. I still can't get the sound to work.

There is a lot to like
I bought this Laptop to replace my wife's old one that was five years old and always short on storage space. This computer had 2TB of SSD and a better/faster processor. We also downsized from a 17 inch to 16, she spends a lot of time researching family genealogies. The only negative, we found and we found some work arounds, was the Intel graphics card. Trying to get the fonts and icons to accommodate or 75-year-old eyes, was a challenge. My computer has a NDIVIA graphic and the options are much more granular. She been using it for a couple of months and has adapted.

It works
The computer functions as expected, however, I had expectations that the battery life would be better. Additionally, the power cord cable is quite stiff and for me, the port is on the wrong side. When I plug it in to my computer, the port seems to be strained. I’m guessing the port has been tested, but it feels like I’m damaging something. And this is all because the power cord is stiff. The look is sleek, and I like the feel. Overall, I like it… Just a few things that I wish were different.

No one tested a prototype
The power cord plugs into a stupid spot that blocks the rest of the ports. The power cord itself is so stiff that when it's plugged in it forms a large loop and gets in the way of the mouse. The track pad is so large and near the keyboard that it gets hit when I type. These 3 things are very poor design. Other than that it's just a normal laptop.

Happy with the Upgrade from
Good computer for trouble free home use.
Bought this HP for home use that includes email (connecting to others), office (spreadsheets, etc), and applications (like a small CAD program and other design software). This HP was in the under $1k category; replacing a non-HP that was purchased for $600 earlier in 2025. I recommend that purchasers consider investing in the more expensive HP for various reasons: ease of use (keyboard on HP much more tactical for better typing, numeric keypad helps when repetitive data entry required, and backlight for any-time use), configuration (able to connect computer to TV's and speakers for occasional group sharing and background music), and stability (solid WiFi 6 connections, Bluetooth works without being overbearing, and battery actually holds a daily charge).

Great Laptop & Fluid Transition
this laptop replaced an HP laptop that I purchased from HP in 2012.
After 13 years on the same HP machine, I was more concerned about mirroring all my settings and preferences.
The transition over to the OmniBook 7 16" turned out to be seamless - especially with so much stored in clouds, and it wasn't difficult to move anything that was in my hard drive.
As for the machine itself, it's great! Right out of the box, it was easy to set up and get everything configured. It's FAST and handles the functions that I use it for well, which is mostly for writing, spreadsheet work, and internet use.
The only difference I noticed is the keyboard: the keys and letters printed on them are bigger and the buttons are more "clackety" and slightly stiff, but I'll get used to it over time.

Meh
It has a bigger, brighter screen than my previous laptop. It has fans to cool it. I use it in an RV which is often very hot, so the fans are necessary to keep it from shutting down.
Unfortunately, it is a power hog. I charge it from my 12v coach battery and it depletes it in no time. The keyboard is hyper-sensitive, and if my palms touch any part adjacent to they keyboard, it often highlights paragraphs and deletes the, or it jumps to another part of the document completely and starts typing there. The keyboard adjacent material is something that doesn't withstand resting a palm on it. it is extremely difficult to keep clean and often exhibits stains from my palms resting on the keyboard/mouse pad.

Have a Pavilion that is very fast, wanted something new that compared to it, didn't get that. Your tech support picks and choices if they want to help, even though you pay for the service. They will tell you that it's a Microsoft issue, when it's not. It's like drawing a straw if you get a tech that want's to help or not.

Good laptop, short battery life.
Perfect size for me with great picture quality on the screen. Boots up quick and runs all my tabs and apps smoothly. Only complaint is the battery life-- I'll be running only Spotify and Google Docs, with brightness and volume on low but still only get so many hours out of it. Not sure what's eating up the battery as it's still brand new and these aren't energy intensive apps as far as I'm aware. Lightweight and slim, it fits anywhere I take it which is impressive given how big of a screen size it is.

I have run some single player games which have been perfectly fine, I have yet to try out higher demanding games like Genshin Impact and Valorant. Overall a month in using it, rate it a 8.5/10.

Just my opinion
I love this laptop. It works well for my CAD/CAM processes. The laptop itself does exactly what I need to get my work done. However, every time I get on there are a million pop ups. I do not want to buy more HP products, I do not want to renew my MCcaffee....If there is something you think I need send me an e-mail. I am working....I do not want to sit and read through all of your pop ups to filter through the necessary. Honestly I do not look at any of them. I close them. Get them out of my way so I can work. If you send me an e-mail every now and then with options they would get more attention.

Not worth the money
I'm disappointed with this laptop. I play very simple point and click games and it glitches and slows down. The graphics card should have no issues keeping up. I've had laptops with less processing power and built in graphics card with no issues. I could have got a laptop for much less money to do what I need.
