Great computer, good value
Bought this computer for my son. He is a gamer and an engineering student and this machine checks all of the needed boxes. He is very happy with the performance and states it rivals his gaming desktop….which is a beast. It is heavy and the power adapter is a brick….totally understandable given the required hardware components inside. I think this computer is a solid value.

A beautiful machine, would’ve been outta budget if not on sale but now I’m spoiled
This is my first legit gaming laptop, so if you’re a pro, take what I say with a grain of salt. This laptop is gorgeous, sleek, speedy, and powerful. I got it on sale for $1550 so quite the steal. The keyboard and touchpad quality are solid, nothing feels flimsy. The RGB backlit keyboard is customizable in quadrants (not per key) in the model I bought, but that suits me just fine since I think the RGB is just a nice bonus. The graphics are great, and I’m able to run multiple games/programs at a time with little to no consequence on quality.
The two things I was surprised about/wasn’t elated about:
1. The charging power block is a veritable brick. And by that I mean it’s actually a larger square than a rectangle, and heavier than my partner’s Acer Predator charger (which I thought was massive). Will be slightly harder to transport than my old one, but I’ll manage. It’s a small complaint.
2. The material of the laptop (I have the black/dark grey finish) is that smooth material that will smudge easily and show fingerprints no matter how clean you keep your workspace & your hands. The decal on the back is a cool piece of holographic plastic that might be flimsier than it looks, but who cares. It looks super slick. But the laptop looks perpetually dirty at close inspection. Again, not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.
Overall incredible gaming laptop and I’m looking forward to using it for as long as it will last me.

Missing NUMBER keypad
I was unhappy to find that a business computer did NOT have the standard NUMBER (Calculator) keypad. I never thought to look at the keyboard layout prior to placing the order.

It's a nice gaming Lap Top . It's a heavy 17.3" . The power supply is big and heavy as well. It's really not meant to carried around. It does everything I need it to do, just wish it was a little bit lighter. Lap Top and charger in my carrier bag ways 12 pounds.

Very nice gaming laptop
Really happy with this Omen so far, this is my third HP and second Omen. Very fast, it runs several apps and Microsoft Flight Simulator and other games at the same time with ease (though I am more of a casual gamer, not hard-core). One minor complaint is that I don't like having to hit the FN button to enable the speaker volume, brightness etc... on the top row Function buttons, my last one was not like that (may be changeable in config though, haven't checked yet). I use a laptop cooling fan underneath it due to the heat, which of course is more than a non-gaming laptop. Still don't know why HP puts the Intel/Nvidia and other stickers on the side where the mouse is used, I have to take them off, they could be placed elsewhere. The B&O speakers are pretty good for a laptop and much better than my last Omen. If you use a number pad on the right, note that it was eliminated on this model for gaming arrows. Overall I have had great experiences with HP laptops and hope to with this one.

So far so good! Was Skeptical about a 2.1 ghz processor but the turbo kicks in a lot and it can get up to 4.5 avg. I'm happy ??

"almost" there. needs improvement
as a past Envy 17 owner I much prefer the more solid construction of the Envy. Omen 17 seems "plastic"y and flimsy. HP always disappoints with memory configuration, it's not that HP tech doesn't understand memory or it's use. Its the fact that the business decision-makers skimp on memory because the decisionmakers HAVE so litttle tech experience. 32Gb is the minimum standard RAM that should be in a "performance" pc. Anyone not knowing that should go to work at McDonalds.
