Rated 5 out of 5 byMack41 from Scan to email and double-sided printing are super.My previous HP printer, after many years, gave up the ghost. I replaced it with the M477fdw. Features I look for are laser printing, scanning, and copying. The printing is quicker with good quality. Previously, I scanned to a thumb drive and then transferred it to the computer; now I can scan to an email and all the interim steps are eliminated. Previously, double-sided copies required removing the sheets and putting them in the paper tray to print the second side; now, the printer does double-sided printing automatically. I am most pleased with my new M477fdw printer and recommend it as a great solution for those looking for a four function laser printer.

Con - When you load the paper trays with legal paper the drawers don't close, leaving the drawer sticking 2" past the front of the printer. Great way to collect things and takes up space! Very poor design.

Rated 5 out of 5 byMundi10 from Third drawer sticks outI ordered the 477 model with an extra third drawer so I could use legal size paper 11x14. Inches however when you insert the legal paper in the tray the tray itself sticks from the front of the printer by 2 to 3 inches In the past the HP printers had a protrusion or box that jutted out of the back of the printer and thus the front of the third drawer closed flush with drawer 2 and the rest of the printer. The old design was. better and I did not expect the change for the worse.

Rated 5 out of 5 bythermodyne from Fabulous machine!I am very impressed with this machine in all ways. Print quality, including photos, is about as good as you'll ever see from a laser. It was easy to set up. WiFi was a piece of cake. Be careful when/if you need to get to the toner cartridges--the plastic is a bit fragile in places. Note for HP: The touchscreen gets in the way of scanning bound material (books).

Rated 5 out of 5 byTao0 from Easy setup, works greatInstalled wireless connection. Set up on my Windows 10 machine. No problems. Set it up to print from my iPad and iPhone - no problems. Tried the copy function single to duplex and duplex to duplex - worked just fine. Loaded some duplex pages in the scanner tray and went to my computer and activated scan - again no problems. Printed some photos - they are just a little bit darker than they should be - this will be fixed as soon as I take the time to tune the color. There were no problems setting it up and getting it to work. Time: about 3 hours including reading the manual. Some said they had Windows 10 issues - I had none whatsoever. Did I mention it was fast. It is in a separate room and typically has the printing done (say an average of 6 - 10 pages duplex) before I get to the printer. This was the easiest to setup and the fastest and best print output of any of my printers to date. I cannot even guess as to why some people had problems - they should not have had them. If it makes a difference, I purchased directly from HP.

After putting some serious work through it and wearing it out, I decided to get another HP. Everything setup perfectly within minutes with the exception of the scan to computer feature. Finally had to call customer service, it took them all of five minutes to remote in and figure out what I did wrong, then I was good to go!
