This CDW Configuration Service covers encryption of a single hard drive installed in a desktop or notebook computer using the encryption process provided by the customer. It includes enabling the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) in the BIOS and installation of the encryption utility on the computer if necessary. It also includes providing recovery keys for Windows BitLocker as required (when not automatically uploaded to Active Directory). For encryption solutions other than Windows BitLocker there may be an additional charge if CDW is required to capture and provide recovery keys. Customer must supply the encryption utility if it is not pre-installed on the computer.
SCOPE OF ENGAGEMENT
This SCOPE OF ENGAGEMENT (“SOE”), together with the Agreement between the CDW entity selling the Services described herein (“Seller”) and the customer ordering such Services (“Customer”) shall be deemed to be a contract upon Seller’s acceptance of Customer’s order.
SELLER RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following tasks:
• The device required for install will be unboxed
• The device will be thoroughly inspected for physical damage or blemishes
• The system will be powered on and inspected for hardware and/or software errors
• Any defective components will be replaced from CDW’s inventory
• Enable the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) in the BIOS if required
• Installation of an encryption utility provided by customer if required
• Encrypt a single hard drive installed in a desktop or notebook computer
• Provide the recovery key for Windows BitLocker as required (when not automatically uploaded to Active Directory)
• All orders undergo a series of quality control steps to verify the order is configured to the customer’s exact specifications
• The successfully configured device will be re-boxed for shipment
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following tasks:
• Provide the encryption utility if not pre-installed on the machine
• Provide an encryption process document including settings, passwords, etc.
• Provide an escalation path for technical questions/issues
ASSUMPTIONS
• Seller’s Account Manager will create install configuration and include service part number(s)
• Seller’s Account Manager will enter any additional instructions in to the Installation Notes on the order
• The encryption utility must be supported by the operating system and hardware manufacturer
• The hard drive is installed in a desktop or notebook computer that has an operating system installed
OUT OF SCOPE
• Encryption of a standalone hard drive
• Installation of any hardware components (available as a separate service)
• Installation of any operating system (available as a separate service)
• Performing any Services not specified herein
SERVICES FEES
The fees due under this SOE include fees for Services and related expenses, as specified in the applicable order.
PROJECT-SPECIFIC TERMS
• Any changes to this SOE shall require a Change Order executed by both parties
CONTACT PERSON
Each party will appoint a person to provide approvals/decisions (“Contact Person”).

This SOE shall be governed by Seller’s “Terms and Conditions of Product Sales and Service Projects,” which are accessed via the Terms and Conditions link on Seller's website (the “Agreement”) and are incorporated herein.
