I Turned it on for 9 hrs, and it recharged in Three hrs. When I received my Lantern it was Broken and they Sent me a new one. Great Product I Highly recommend it My Two mantle Collman Lantern will be Retired now.

I bought this lantern years ago, And The last two years Since my brother Disconnected my Power line i've been using it full time at night. The only problem I have always had when charging, Is that the chord where it connects to The lantern has a short in it.And I have to rig up the cord position , so it will charge. And I have had to use the crank many times because of no sun. I really like it! I need To buy a couple more when I get The money saved up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, long lasting lantern I bought this before a 4 day stay in a yurt without an electrical hookup. The light was bright and very adjustable. I love that I can illuminate only one side of the lantern. Not only did that make walking with it more comfortable (I didn’t blind myself but still could see ahead of me) but it also extends battery life, which I found to be excellent as well. On that trip I only used it for light, not charging anything, but at the end of the 4 days I still had maybe 25% power left. There’s a good chance I’ll never need the crank, but I love that in an emergency I could generate light, or even with effort get some charge into a dead phone. The lantern legs get it up off the table into a good position for playing games or seeing what you’re eating for dinner. I don’t think I’ll ever use the red alert light feature, but again, it could prove useful in an emergency. Really pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flourless I have 7 and they are the best lanterns on the market They last very long on a charge, the brightness is adjustable, they charge from a USB that is connected (so you can't lose it) and if you can't charge it due to no electricity nearby It has a hand crank on top

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stopped taking a charge It worked for a while but now doesn’t take a charge. It was a gift and I don’t have a receipt so GoalZero will not stand by their product. I’ll try sending for a replacement battery and self repair. If that doesn’t work I will buy a similar product but not from the same company again. Durability and customer service are surprisingly poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Failed on its second charge. The light malfunctioned on its second charge. Now it is permanently on whenever any charge is present. Was a gift so I don't have a receipt. GoalZero offered a whopping 20% off another light. Do not buy this. The photo shows the switch in the off position but the light shines anyway and will continue until the battery is drained.

I especially like the dimmer switch and the option of casting 180-degree or 360-degree light into the room. This is going to be the go-to Christmas gift for everyone this year!

We use it during outages and camping trips. It can provide light for an evening meal, reading at bedtime and still have enough juice to recharge my cell phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super efficient. I won one of these at a silent auction years ago and it is the best lantern ever. I can charge it at home and it last the entire 4 day weekend plus it keeps my phone charged. I can hook it to the top of the tent and use 1/2 of the light when I want to walk.

The variable light output is perfect for evening light when you don't want a full blast lantern. I have yet to use the USB charger functions which are a bonus.

My husband thought I was wasting my money and we went camping for one week and now that we have come back he would like me to buy two more at least. This Lantern was super bright and I absolutely loved it and definitely will be ordering more and I'm also going to order some as Christmas gifts.

My only issue is that one night I didn't realize it was going to rain and the lantern was splashed with sandy water. The sand penetrated into the buttons and I had to dig out the emergency flash button as it now sticks if pressed. The lantern survived and still works, however I'd happily buy a new version of the lantern that was highly ruggedized and could better handle being caught in the elements. I would like to see a version that could survive being bashed about in backpacks or dropped regularly. The current version is only safe for car camping in my opinion.

The built-in USB cable is a small touch showing its creators' real thought about how to make the lantern most useful. Its fold-down legs are level and steady. Its dial permits control over the amount of light. It seems really good!

She said "what are those?"....My sister then told me she bought these type of lights for herself and two sons who camp about 10 years ago and how fantastic they were. . They truly are bright and they light up a whole room. ....Great lanterns.....

There are a few brands of lights out there that allow you to change/replace the rechargeable battery. This is far better in many ways, with less plastic going into landfills. Lithium batteries are also recyclable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have! As soon as I turned both sides on high power I could see where they got the name. Its wicked bright! It charged my hone to 100% and still had 50% battery(2 of the 4 indicator lights) The real feature is the crank. When batteries are fully exhausted turning the crank handle will generate enough energy to run the light. Pretty cool.

How come you advertise on the product that this is what it does? Show everything in it and then it doesn't come with it

Made well and does what it claims. Bonus points for use with my granddaughter. It’s easy enough to use and safer than an old fashioned lantern while camping with little kids and they think it’s fun to crank-charge it up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now it's behaving oddly, but it has been great I have one of the older versions of the lighthouse, and it's worked great. However, the blue charge status lights are now blinking constantly. The charge is full (all the lights are showing and I had just charged it), but I can't get that annoying blue light blinking to stop. Unfortunately, I can't find any documentation from Goal Zero (the documents on line are MSDS sheets and not user manuals). This is a very easy light to operate, but when something odd occurs (as described above), fixing it is not at all intuitive.

But recently the lantern switch would not turn the light off. Recharged several times but had to let it run down to turn off. Such a great lantern I’ve replaced with another Goal Zero , but could not give it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid work horse I originally purchased as I've been a huge fan of GoalZero and have counted them as a supportive sponsor of the Iron Horse Challenge events, in support of the Central and Southern Ohio ALS chapter. I was impressed by its versatility and intended it for backyard camping and other adventures with my kids. I even loaned it out to a friend who was temporarily homeless and was spending his nights in a mutual friends garage, while he was putting himself through school as an EMT (and staying up late into the dark hours studying). Sadly it was during this period that my friend was startled in the night and knocked it over, breaking one of the two hinging arms and partially separating the base. It still charges, works perfectly as a hanging light and is a go to for emergencies. I highly recommend and would love to get another.

The turn knob would be better if it had some texture for easier turning and for the price the amount of lumens is quite low. I understand the charging handle is included in that price and I really enjoy that aspect. Over all my review is a 3 of 5.

I recently visited him and we used the lantern to illuminate underneath the house, fixing the well pump together. He and I had used it for some projects prior to that, and I knew the battery was low due to the 3 of the 4 blue LEDs going dim. Sure enough, it went out while we were working under the house, but that was A-Okay due to the easy cranking feature, which enabled us to finish the job. We also used it recently for some other house projects together, and I hope to use it with him in a camping trip soon. I dropped it one time and held up nicely. USB charging is convenient, too. Good memories are being created around this little lantern.

I purchased it for a 96-year old relative to use during power outages instead of candles and she took to it right away. Weeks later she couldn’t remember I gave it to her but she did tell me Al about it and how she loved it! ??

The roads were rough and the light was jiggled around a lot and held up great. An excellent light source for reading in the evening , cooking up coffee in the morning and breakfast
