Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Chronograph!! This is the 4th chronograph I’ve owned. It blows them all away. Don’t know how you could make one much better. It’s about as perfect as it could be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent little machine This thing works amazing. So much easier than the typical chronograph. Very easy to setup and use. Only complaint is that there is no case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient tool Used a few times. All good except for the clunky process to start a new session using the same bullet weight. Have worked through three different chronos and this is the best and easiest to use so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Thing Since Sliced Bread This chrono is great. I have used two different chronographs in the past, and they both served their purpose. The Xero C1is a total gamechanger. No missed shots due to light issues, no readjusting the bayonet. Just set it up according to the instructions and shoot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This makes all of the chronographs I have used in the past obsolete. Don't misunderstand, the previous chronographs I have owned and still own are good products, it's just that the Garmin is a great product. I especially like the feature that allows me to synch the data on the machine with the app. The size is certainly a plus! Your engineers have outdone themselves. It gets high marks for portability and ease of use. A true testament to its quality is that the market is being flooded with people advertising to move their Magnetospeeds and LabRadars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chronograph ever! Easy to use and never misses a shot! Can be handheld.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast setup I have wanted a chronograph for a long time but with missed shots long set up time and accuracy I didn’t buy one. When I saw the Garmin XERO C1 PRO I had to have one you can be recording shots in a matter of seconds it has never missed a shot so far. There is no reason not to take it to the range very time you go. It even recorded every shot from a pellet rifle. For me it was well worth the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Treat yourself and get one of these Chronographs My first chronograph was a red Chrony. I still have it. I haven't used it in 15 years, but it's still in the little hard case with foam cutouts I acquired to keep it out of the elements. It never met my expectations. Several times I was tempted to drop the crosshairs down and just be done with the thing. That never happened. I guess I liked the tripod holding it up too much. Around 2014 I purchased one of the then-new Magnetospeed V3 chronographs. It doesn't need light and shadows to work. This chronograph met and exceeded expectations, and still have it as well. There are limitations of course. There's no good way to use it on pistols. It works with some of my air rifles, but not with others. I was never brave enough to try it on a shotgun. I handload for my rifles. When working up loads I started loading extra rounds. Strapping this bayonet onto the barrel changes barrel harmonics. I did my ladder testing for accuracy, then had to go back and remeasure velocity. Not the end of the world, but still a minor aggravation and additional component cost. Lastly, on high-recoiling rifles the little nylon mounting strap will move on the barrel. This greatly lowers the velocity readings and gives you something worse than no reading: a bad reading. My "fix" was to wrap electric tape around the barrels before I attach the V3. That has worked so far for me. I would come up with some stock-mounting option, but now I don't have to. Around 2017-2018 I tried a friend's LabRadar. They were around $700 at the time. That was a more frustrating experience than trying to use my old red Chrony. About half the time it provided a reading. The other half, I was glad I hadn't bought one yet. Eventually I got it to work 80% of the time. There is definitely a learning curve with those things. I've heard people mount scopes and lasers to their LabRadar's to get more consistent readings from them. My experience with them convinced me to wait on something better. It took long enough, but Garmin finally came out with a better mousetrap. This Xero C1 Pro is hands-down, the best chronograph I have ever owned or used. My dad still uses a flip phone, and doesn't text. He doesn't have or even want email, or really know how to use a computer at all. He still calls me to "google" something he saw on Youtube (he likes the Roku I got them years ago and spends many of his now-retired hours on Youtube). When I got the Garmin it took me about 2 minutes to figure everything out. I showed him how to turn it on and set it up, save shot strings, and start new ones. He uses this chronograph more than I do now. He would never use the Magnetospeed unless I set it up for him. He was afraid he would accidentally shoot the bayonet, which is not impossible to do. The only shot that the Garmin didn't pick up was when I left a water bottle sitting in front of it on the bench. So don't do that. Other than an obstruction like that, this thing is going to provide a reading. And of course, I tested the accuracy readings against my magnetospeed. They were no more than a couple fps apart. Not very scientific, but it did provide a level of confidence using this new-to-me technology. So far we have used this chronograph with several rifles and handguns. I cannot recommend it highly enough for those applications. I haven't tried any shotguns, air guns, or archery stuff with it yet. The interface is simple, and easy to understand and learn. Setup for whatever you're shooting is a no-brainer. So are going back and reviewing your shot strings. A feature I haven't taken advantage of yet is connecting it with a smart phone with the Garmin app. One of my friends has and it looks worthwhile, so that's on the agenda. Even if I hate the phone app thing, I will still love using this chronograph. I still use a paper notebook for handloading and shooting notes, and have no problems just writing MV/ES/SD information down rather than using my phone for yet another thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin C1 Pro - Simple, Compact, Reliable The Garmin chronograph is a game-changer. Compared to the old sky screen type, it's a breeze to use. Compact and easy to handle, it fits in my range bag without taking up much space. Most importantly, it's reliable. No more fussing with clunky equipment that only works in perfect conditions, so I seldom use it. With the Garmin, I'm always ready to go. A bit speedy, but my favorite gun related purchase in a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and Accurate! This is the easiest device to use with rapid and accurate readings. I love syncing it to my phone. The guy next to me at the range set up his Lab Radar next to me and it took him forever. I was just shooting away with my rapid setup and compact device. I highly recommend a Garmin Xero Chronograph to everyone who wants accurate information for the most accurate shooting possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent chronograph I bought this a few months ago, if you’re looking for a chronograph, this is the one to get in my opinion! It is so easy to set up and use, and can get an accurate speed on almost anything. I use it on air guns, pistol, rifle, crossbow, I just purchased a blowgun but haven’t tried to chronograph that yet but it wouldn’t surprise me if it works! Great job Garmin, keep up the good work, this thing is amazing! Yes I have used other chronographs in the past but since I’ve received this one, I sold one brand and gave my magneto speed to my son.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changer I've had my Xero C1 Pro for approximately two months and the freedom it gives from the old cumbersome (ball& chain) chronographs of the past is game changing and exhilarating. Thank you Garmin for freedom!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never Leaves my bag Our little group has been using another brand of doplar chronograph for years. Once I saw the size of this one, I had to have it. Since using it in our group, we never use the other and 2 other guys went and got one after seeing mine. Now there is one on the bench at every shoot. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just buy it! I've been looking at chronographs for a couple years and couldn't decide based on cost and ease of use. Was borrowing the brand M but painful to set up at times. Changing shims to get to consistent measurements and having to load extras just in case it didn't read. Can't use it with revolvers. Looked at brand L and those seem hit or miss. Truly love or hate depending on who you talk to and the day they use it. Looked at the shoot thru optical and just wasn't intered in buying multiple. Also you have to buy extras just to get going. Looked at other radar units and they are expensive. Some seem quirky and questionable support. Watched a ton of videos on the Xero. Not only does the production unit work but the app works amazing like all Garmin products. No dropped shots yet in 500 rounds. It also comes with a small tripod, nothing else to buy before you can use it. I wish they reased this years ago and saved me a lot of aggravation and wasted component. The size is a huge win also, this was smaller than I was expecting. (I wish you made a good storage case with and without the tripod, hint hint.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to set up! This is by far the easiest chronograph to set up, no problems recording with other firearms around, and it switches from gun to gun with ease using an arca mounted camera bracket system. We have clients who share their results easily with email downloads. Highly recommended, even though we really like our Magnetospeeds and were frustrated as heck with the finicky Labradar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest thing I ever bought! Waited for almost a year for it and worth every second. No more bulky units or set up time. No more notebooks for bullet chrono logs. Fits in my pocket, sets up in seconds. Records all the data and I need and logs it in my phone. I have more data in a few months than I had in past two years because it’s so easy to use and set up. Love it. Can’t say enough about it. Battery last for a very long time as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Unit This thing is everything the reviews say it is. Super easy to use. Accurate. Doesn't miss shots. If I had to find an issue, it would be my fault for not reading the directions. Make sure you have enough distance from the chrono to your target when shooting bows, it missed a few shots until I backed up, then it functioned flawlessly. Zero issues with rifles and muzzleloaders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's almost perfect but by far the best Very simple and intuitive to use. A bit finicky when the velocities are close to the thresholds, and also getting to register some shots (like shotgun, for example). Last thing - for the price, Garmin should provide some sort of case... I use an old Trijicon RMR case and the unit and stand fit perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Simple to setup and use I own 4 different chronographs. And this is by far my favorite. Its small and easy to use. Its easy to connect to my mobile device to record my data. No more needing to take pictures/notes to record my data. My other brand had similar features but is so much larger. It is also more complicated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bullseye - a perfect product Small and simple to use. Still need to verify accuracy - but I have confidence in Garmin. Just a couple of button pushes, pull the trigger, and you have data, update your ballistic app and your ready to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fenomenal!!! Small, light, awesome. I have been a life long user of bullet chronographs. To me they are essential to the reloading process. Have had various systems with most recently Oehler 35P and LabRadar! The small Garmin unit Xero C1 beats them all by a large margin. It is super light and easy to set up. The wide radar beam makes all of the difference. Easy to adjust. No need to carry heavy tripods and other gear. The measurements compare very well to LabRadar. My only desire for improvement would be to find an easier and faster way to download all series with a single click.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just amazing I own a very old Ohler 35. It's fussy at the very best. Wind is a problem, clouds are an issue. Finding days to chronograph loads is difficult in windy Idaho. Using my old chronograph was an all day thing. My air rifle started acting up and I needed to chronograph it. I read some great reviews on the Garmin Xero. So I ordered one. I really had problems with the air rifle. The Garmin Xero showed me that my extreme spread was 50 fps more than it was new. On a rifle that is only 668 fps at its peak. That is a big loss. I have a disabled hunting license. I clip the Garmin to my window and I have instant information. It even works at night if you just don't have time in the day. I have six Garmin products. They are all awesome. The Xero is so easy. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable! I’ve owned this unit for about 3 months now. I’ve used it more in that time than any other chrono I’ve ever owned. I’ve been long range shooting for over 40 years now. Owned several generations of “state of the art” chronographs over that time. This unit is by far the easiest to use, most portable and every bit as accurate or better than anything I’ve used before. I’ve checked the data against brand L & brand M and found so little difference that it’s statistically insignificant. The zero comes with me to the range 2-4 times a week. (What can I say, I’m retired so it’s shooting or golfing. It’s a tough life!) I have even taken it to a west TX hunt and used it to verify speeds while checking zero before the hunt. So easy so why not? I have already sold both my other chronos and will likely get another Xero to add to my travel kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest setup of any crono. I have had this for about 4 months. Cannot say enough good things about it. Battery life is very good, easily goes for 4-5 hours of use. Battery charge stays up even for a month or so of non use. It's very accurate, even for .22 lr, slingshot ball bearings are recorded. Good. It is always a talking point at the range. Comparing it to "shadow" type systems, it is ready to go in 20 sec or so. Other systems take several minutes to setup and even then they are not so accurate. Nothing touches the rifle, no complicated plug in cables or measuring distance from the muzzle... It just works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chronograph This has made my range time and load development so much easier. Set up time is seconds, reliable function and instant calculation that immediately transfers to my phone. Extremely happy with this. I use it fro developing handliads for hunting so not competition but makes range time much more efficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very reliable... I have just less than 1000 rounds through the Garmin Xero C1 Chronograph so far... I have used several chronographs over the last decade or so, as a baseline. Pros: 1. Convenience of setup is in a different class than any chronograph I have used. So simple. Turn it on, enter a couple of options, unfold the stand and set it down within the on-screen recommended range of the muzzle and begin. 2. The app works fine for the Android phone I use and auto-updates when you connect it to your phone. 3. The strongest point would be sensitivity and functional reliability. It works with everything from12ga slugs and 8mm Mauser to 2mm Pinfire (662fps avg with 0.5gr round ball), and has never missed a shot from any of the dozen firearms chronographed.** I can't say that for any other chronograph I have ever used more than once. 4. VERY hard to shoot. As a mass dispatcher of working optical chronographs, if I shoot this one, there must be an award or at least a t-shirt. 5. Ultra-compact. Coat pocket sized, handle tripod and all. 6. No idea the battery life, but I have only charged it twice, so it must be exceptionally long. I have never used it for more than an hour straight, but many times. Cons: 1. Price. Higher cost than most others. Worth it for my shooting habits, as I have shot more chronographs than some people have shot guns. (When people see my junk yard of shot chronographs... "Jesus... I guess it's chrono-season, and you bagged your limit!") 2. Being relatively expensive, the screen is a little primitive and not so bright for my old eyes. It is a reflective type of LCD screen like a 70's calculator or early handheld game system. I didn't expect a cell phone screen, and it does do the job, but just ok. **3. Still a minor thing... reset speed is a little bit slower than I wish. The only shots the Xero C1 has ever missed were caused by me getting back to the trigger a little too quick, before the reset. Not the units fault, but I do like products that make up for my faults. The cons are all minor to me... and I am giving this product 5 stars as there is nothing better I am aware of. It is literally in a class by itself. I have shot this in parallel with a couple of optical chronographs and they are all about the same... "not enough difference to make a difference." (PH) If you are a chrono-killer or just want a very reliable chronograph, this is a very good product over all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Xero® C1 Pro Chronograph First off, the Xero C1 Pro threaded perfectly onto my tripod, which allowed me to set it up in the backyard, archery and gun ranges on different surfaces to get it in the right space. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Record The Xero has captured every shot I have sent by it. Pistol and rifle. It’s simply a pleasure to use. I’ve chronographed for others at the range and sent records to them with the app. They were very appreciative. One friend went home and ordered one that evening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chrono on the Market With the size and easy use the Xero is almost perfect. So far it has been extremely consistent for both rifle and archery speed. The easy to use interface and set up blows away anything else I have tried. I would absolutely give 5 stars if the Xero would give down range speeds for easy archery sight tapes. Maybe a software update later….

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensable tool for better results This is easy to setup, easy to use, and reliable. I learned about this from watching another shooter using it to measure performance of his handloads. The instantaneous calculation of average velocity, extreme spread, standard deviation, and power factor saves time both on the range and afterward during detail analysis at home. It never missed a reading. The battery life was about six hours. The unit is small, but the display was easy to read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chrono As soon as this was announced I knew I wanted it. To be able to chrono my bow and my guns with one small unit is the best. I took this to the range the other day and had multiple people asking about it and wondering why they were carrying big, heavy equipment around. I tested next to my magneto speed and the results were the same. Best purchase I've made in a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works and it is easy to set-up I own or have used most chronographs. The Xero C1 Pro is the best by far. It works, the battery lasts a long time, and it so easy to use and set-up I have been using it everytime , just in case. Where it fails is software. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the compact size The unit works very well and I am pleased with this chrono, overall. But cmon' Garmin, include a zipper case with it for that price! Also, the app is OK,but it would be really nice if the app could control the chrono to do things like specify bullet weight, and be able to start a new session from the app. Basically be able to control the chrono without having to pick the unit up every time you want to sync and start a new session. With all the technology Garmin provides, this box could be a LOT more intuitive. I hope there is an app update VERY soon. I have used many aviation products from Garmin, and they are excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing since sliced bread. If you reload this is a must have tool. I reload for 23 different calibers and never bought a chrono because they were big and difficult to setup. My reloads were always based on published load data but I never knew if the velocity out of my guns was anywhere close to published data. If I did not see pressure signs I assumed I was good to go. Crimp, amount of powder and seating depth can affect velocity so you never know how much these changes will affect velocity or affect consistency. This thing is a game changer. It is so easy to setup that I use it to measure velocity on everything. I keep it in my range bag and the battery lasts for ever. As long as it is facing the target and the gun mussel is within 5-15 inches of it, it will measure the velocity. Even at an indoor range with shooters right next to you it still works great. ( I have had a few shots that it picked up from the next lane but very rarely.) The app also works great. The data from each session is sent to your phone instantly. You can then add notes or rename your session with added data. You can then send a CVS file to your computer to save for later or add more detail. It is more expensive than others but you will use it a lot and save a lot testing different loads. It is worth every penny especially if you do not already have one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything we’ve always wanted in a chronograph. I purchased this about two months ago. This is the 4th chronograph I’ve owned and by far the very best. I honestly cannot think of another feature that would make this any better. Easily measures speeds from suppressed 22s all the way up to the largest caliber I use. No more making sure it is aimed perfectly or picking up false readings from bolt manipulation when using an inertial trigger. Do not hesitate on this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest to use of all chronos I have used other chronos with screens, and found them to be a real pain to setup, and often a cloudy day would yield wildly different results. I purchased the Garmin Chrono a little over a month ago, after a buddy demonstrated his, at the range. I was super impressed at his, and two days later had my own. I setup the Chrono on a spare spotting scope tripod, as it provided a little more height and stability than the Garmin one included in the box, although for most purposes, the Garmin one worked just fine. I wanted the extra height so that I could position it a little easier for pistol distanced. Even more than just displaying the shots on the screen, I absolutely love that it will blue tooth to my phone, shoe me the averages, and even let me send it out so I can put it in Excel. A little expensive, bu worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features but misses shots My replacement unit is much better at collecting shot data, but still fails to capture 6-10% of shots. There appears to be some indoor range interference, however several other shooters do not experience near as many misses with their Xeros. Tried comparing units side-by-side and mine will fail when others do not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Took this little piece of hardware to the range last week to see what it was all about. Using several different reloads out of a Ruger Precision in .223. Setting up the chronograph was very EZ and pairing it to the phone was just as simple. The small size is great for shooting off of a bench rest or in a prone position. Shooting one load after another it was EZ to set up each session and make notes of the load as well at the recorded shot velocities. All saved to my phone or iPad to be placed into a spread sheet. Super simple and super handy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chronograph yet invented. This chronograph is so easy to use I use it every time I shoot. Compared to my Ohler 33, it is 5 fps faster but consistent. Might be the difference of where the velocity is measured. The only improvement I would make is to add identifiers on the face under the buttons. You look at it face on ahead of you, so button ID is more visible. I did this with an adhesive strip. Garmin assistance, when needed, was excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Game Changing New Tool Setting up the Garmin and making it ready for the first shot is extremely easy and almost an afterthought. I'm at the rifle range weekly, and I've only charged the Garmin once, when it first arrived at my door. It's compact enough that I always take it with me on my range trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chronograph BUT? This is by far the best chronograph I have ever used and I have had several. I gave it 4 stars only because the app that is used could use some improvements. It should auto sync with your phone or computer with each shot to view up to the minute data. It would also be much better with a touch screen and a little larger screen as well. The battery life is great but we'll see how long before the battery need to be replaced. I hope it can be replaced unlike older Garmin devices. Another downside is that if you don't select the correct shot velocity range you won't get a reading. The ranges overlap somewhat but if you happen to be just outside the range you'll have to stop and change ranges. The buttons on the unit are cumbersome scrolling through the menus which is where a touch screen would really be nice. Overall it is easy to set up. I can use in any weather, I don't have to worry about shooting up my sky screens or how sunny it is outside. If I want to test a single load I can turn on, set the range and fire in less than 30 seconds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to use! I own a LabRadar. I bought the Garmin initially to be my backup chronograph. Having used both extensively, the Garmin is more portable and easier to use than my LabRadar. My Garmin is now my "go to" chronograph and my LabRadar is now a backup!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s already all been said! The unit is a game changer. I’ve used it indoor, outdoor, in the cold, low light, rimfire, handgun, rifle and it just plain works. I love the app and the ability to record all my notes. The size is amazing. I sold a rifle that I wasn’t using too much to purchase the Garmin and at this point, I’d sell three rifles if I had to because the Garmin works that well!

Everything works perfect with no setup, adjusting or fuss. STDEV, ES, and average speed are displayed. This chrono picks up 22lr (magneto wouldn’t for me). Love it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Easy!! I have had an Oehler 35P and it has served me well. Then I bought the first available radar type system, so I didn't have to set-up equipment beyond the firing line. My first radar system was a bit cumbersome and not without issues and need for aftermarket parts to make it work more reliably. I never liked the thought of hanging something on my barrel either. This Xero C1 Pro is the ticket. The Xero C1 Pro fits in my shirt pocket when headed to the range, populates to my phone and can be downloaded to computer. The Xero C1 Pro catches every shot and calculates the most useful information about my loads. I could not have made a better purchase as far as a radar type chronograph goes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny After some research on similar dollar products and other chronographs. This one is the best choice. Simple to use, reliable, doesn’t have issues with cloud cover or heavy rain and wind. I have ran thunderbolt .22 up to 45-70 and many calibers in between. No issues. The app on the phone allows more refined session detail than using the Xero C1 by itself. Not having to shoot through it is a huge bonus as well. The Xero is small light weight and charges quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and Easy to Use! Connecting the Garmin to my Android phone as well as my iPad was simple to complete. Setting up and using the device was also simple and easy. I have had only two missed shots out of 50 and both were my fault and not the Garmin. It is very welcome to quickly receive my data and store it for future reference. I also really like its compact size so it does not stand out like a billboard and the range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really a great device. Purchased this a month or so ago and have used it three times. I first tested it on my 6mm airgun and the Xero C1 Pro Chronograph worked every time. I tested it a second time with the same air rifle to show some friends and they were impressed. The last time I used it when shooting some 22lr subsonic rounds and it never failed to register the shots. I had owned a "sky box" chronograph and setting it up was a time consuming task. With the Xero C1 Pro, it is a snap. I will be using it soon on my new AR 223 Wylde and 300 BLK uppers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawlessly captured every shot so far! I've used the chronograph for two 1.5 hour sessions at the rifle range with my air rifles and the Garmin has captured every shot. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Available I bought this chronograph about 3 months ago to replace MagnetoSpeed and Caldwell Optical units, both of which were giving me issues - my best decision ever. The small size, ease of set up and use, and features are very impressive and all I need. I use it for both pistols (.22LR to .475 Linebaugh) and rifles (.22LR to .577NE) with no issues or problems and with repeatable results. Low power consumption allows use for about 3 sessions of 3 hours each. I strongly recommend a hard, hand carrying case, such as the small Klein Tools storage case (about $17 from Amazon). The only limitation I have found to this unit is the inability to download results directly to a laptop without going through an i-phone first. The Xero C1 Pro Chronograph operates equally well resting on a bench, the ground (when shooting prone), or mounted on large or small tripods as the occasion dictates. Its readings are consistent and clear, and appear insensitive to wads such as I use in shotguns and muzzle loading arms - Pricey, but it just flat works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now I Collect Far More Data than Before! The Xero is so much more convenient to use that I always take it to the range, and I never miss a group. Whereas with older chronographs, including the excellent Labradar, I would often forget something (like a tripod) that would prevent me from using it...I always have what I need with the Xero. Aiming the Xero is not a process, you just point it. The user interface is so intuitive that no instruction manual is necessary. Most importantly, I (along with several friends of mine who have other use cases) have used the Xero alongside other chronos and validate that its velocity data are sufficiently accurate. Another cool thing is that it seems to be able to detect rounds fire by your neighbor (at the range) and then ignore them. Also, the app is what it should be. I'm not the most demanding user in the world, but I can't think of anything I would change about the app or the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use I have been reloading for over 60 years but have never had a chronograph to record muzzle velocity. The Garmin Chronograph was so easy to use and download to the app. I had always used data from the reloading manuals to get a ball park figure and then used that data to determine bullet drop from trajectory tables. Boy was I wrong after getting the actual data with the Garmin. Not only have I used it for 22 Rimfire and my centerfire rifles, I have used it with my pellet rifle to get true muzzle velocity. I always thought that my handloads had a faster muzzle velocity than. factory loads but boy was I wrong. I now have a much more realistic view for trajectories with my different firearms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Compact Chronograph! I shoot Competition USPSA across the country, have a YouTube for it, and load my own ammo of course. in other words, I shoot A LOT. and our ammo is tested at every major match. in competition shooting we bring quite a bit with us the the range to setup a practice or shoot a match. Carrying another giant box doesn't serve anyone conveniently. the fact that this product works JUST as good as the other commonly used doppler chronographs, AND fits in your pocket? is just unbeatable. any time I need to chromo some loads before a big match this gets conveniently tossed in my pocket on my way out the door! setup is flawless, the shot view app makes accessing your logs easy and accessible. I highly recommend the Xero C1. After having loads measured at majors the Garmin was dead on in comparison. I trust it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product It is straightforward to use and the cellphone application makes things much easier to handle on the documentation side. As soon as I finish a session (string of fire) I can end it and it shows up in the cellphone application. I found that I could printout the information from the cellphone application directly to a linked printer. This way I can have the information at hand without having to write anything down. Notes can be added to any of the sessions (I added the firearm and projectile information) also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Alternative! I've only tried this once, but it seems to measure velocities that very closely match the known velocities of my handloads. My only complaints: If someone else is shooting closer than six feet from you, your Xero C1 COULD pick up their shots as well as yours. There's no way (currently) to narrow your radar beam so only your shots are picked up. My other issue is the display; it's very dark if you are shooting under a covered range. I tried both screen settings, but it didn't make much difference. I'm sure it works better in open sunlight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changer Having struggled with "the other radar" chronograph and a mostly fan of the bayonet chrono, I picked up the Garmin. Holy mackerel ... the Garmin is a true game changer. So far, I've probably chronoed just over 750 rounds ... never missed a reading. Take it out, screw on the tripod, turn it on, point it in the right direction and you are good to go. It is so easy, you can use it for every trip to the range without a second thought. Also, pretty good battery life. Easier than setting up my rest & bag. Big, big fan. If you have any doubts, talk to anybody at the range using a Garmin. I have a large orange box for sale.

In come the C1 and wow couldn't be simpler to setup, take 5 seconds to config and start shooting. Been shooting pellet guns, arrows, to .50 cal. Never missed a beat. Highly recommend if you are thinking about it, don't look back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Simple I picked this Chrono up about a month ago. It is the easiest Chrono I've seen to a set up and use. The buttons and navigation of the settings and set up are very easy to do. I was also really surprised by the size. I mean I've seen pictures of it, but actually seeing it beside the rifle made it look even smaller. I have used it on several center-fire rifles, a couple .22 rifle and pistols, and even a muzzle loader and it read everything fine. I'm absolutely blown away with the ease of use, setup, and portability of the Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and Easy to use I have had this product for a couple of months now. Weather hasnt been conducive to the range so I was very excited to be able to try it out. Man am I impressed. This this is super simple to setup and go. From breaking it out of the range bag to the fully setup and ready to go was 30 seconds. A bit of advice before your first trip to the range. Make sure you download the Garmin app on your smart phone. You don't have to have it but it makes operation more convenient. The app also lets you run firmware updates. I would definitely purchase this product again. Worth every penny and much simpler, easier to use and compact than other competitors options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy! I have used several chronometers and they have all required a set-up process. They have all been finicky to get a good reading. I bought this, took it out of the box and set it on a shooting table within the proper distance from the muzzle and it went to work. I've set it on the ground when shooting prone and it seemed too simple. This thing is amazingly easy to get good readings with. The recording feature, electronics and communication and is simple and great. I love it! Highly recommended!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Chronograph The Xero C1 Pro Chronograph is worth every penny. The unit is compact and easy to set up. After the initial charge I walked through the menu and it couldn't be simpler. My first test was with a 22 cal air rifle and it picked up every shot without issue. Connected the unit to the associated phone app and the C1 firmware(software) started updating making that one less concern. If you reload, do precision shooting, or coach shooters (rifle, pistol, archery, shotgun, air rifle) this is a great tool in your toolbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chronograph for shooting I have had mine for over a month now. That is easily 500 recorded shots. Pros: easy to set up. Easy to use. Syncs easily with phone AFTER you are done with set. Battery lasts a long time. 4 hours of recording and still above 60% Cons: you have to choose a velocity. Above 1700 fps or below 1700 fps. Not a big deal unless you are working up loads that start below and end up above. Or if what you are testing is near that threshold and you don't know. THEN it will miss the shot and not record it. So you need to pay attention to this. Other than that? Great. Way simpler and cleaner than other options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Worth the Money! Having used a three sky-screen chronograph for years with excellent results, I was hesitant to spend the money on a new chronograph. There was never any doubt this would be an excellent product since it was made by Garmin. This unit is so much faster to setup and use than the old sky screen units, you not only get to spend more time shooting, but you will have much more accurate readings as well. Additionally, there is no longer a need to write down or print the results, this unit can either upload your results to a paired mobile device, or you can email the results to yourself before you leave the range so no data is lost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool! Great Features! I was extremely pleased when I learned about the Xero C1. I was using other chronographs that were clunky and tedious to set up. I had to walk out in front of my set up to position my old chronographs. Not ideal! I ended up damaging one of my chronographs to the point I ended up scrapping it. Using the Xero is extremely easy and captures a lot of information that is super helpful when working up loads. I am very pleased with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best option for a chrono hands down. I have been trying to decide on a chrono for a good while but a few things kept me from buying one. Most are large and bulky, communication/recording, set up can be a pain in the rear end. Then I heard about the Xero. Portable, accurate, communicates with phone seamlessly, and set up literally takes 10 seconds. The only gripe is that it is a little pricy, but worth every penny. A few of my friends have tried out mine and are planning on replacing their Caldwells and Labradars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chronos Just Skipped a Generation I have used a number of chronographs over the years, ranging from optical to radar. None come remotely close to the form, fit, and function of the Garmin. Frankly, having owned a number of Garmin products, I would expect nothing less. Garmin is the epitome of a great product company. On to some specifics: - The thing never misses a shot - It is tiny in comparison to everything else out there - it is very easy to use. Worked like a champ right out of the box - The mobile app is excellent and allows for much greater flexibility than competing products - It is a breeze to set up. I use an arca bar that connects to the arca rails on my rifles. Pull it out of its protective case, slap it on the rifle, turn it on, and go. Note that Garmin does not warranty usage in this manner, but I have shot a few hundred rounds through my 300 PRC with no ill effects, not to mention hundreds more of 6mm and 308. While the other manufacturers were either sitting on the laurels of their gen-1 product or building a gen-2, Garmin built a gen-3.

This is point and shoot - no misaligned or missed shots. I sold my LabRadar the next day. Got tired of the set up, lugging around the bulky unit. I will say, the LabRadar was the best thing since sliced bread when it came out, but this little Garmin is way better in every respect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Xero experience Like most reviews I found the Xero to be easy to set up. I had no problems with the Shot View APP on my phone. My first try I recorded my Ruger .177 pellet rifle. It recorded all 10 shots in 2 strings with different pellets. I was able to load these onto my phone with no problem. As you can see it is a very compact unit. I really not having to go in front of the firing line to place my Xero. I may look for a bit taller tripod. My position on the pellet gun was too high so I had to put something under the tripod. At the indoor range there was a lip on the bench and again I had to raise it up I highly recommend the Xero C1 Pro Chronograph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest to Use and Safest Chronograph I purchased the Garmin Xero C1 because I handload for a large number of cartridges, ranging from the 0.223 WSSM to the 0.577 Snider. Particularly with the large blackpowder cartridges, it is important to understand the relationship between velocity and powder charge with very low loading densities. I have owned four chronographs prior to the Xero C1 over the past 40 years, including all the commonly advertised types. With the skyscreen-type chronographs, you have to set up the skyscreens (or the whole chronograph) in front of the firing line. This can range from inconvenient to dangerous on a crowded firing line, where you need to get everyone else to cease fire for setup and takedown. With the Xero C1, you simply place the unit on its convenient tripod in the vicinity of the muzzle, and you are ready to go. The phone app makes it really easy to store your data on phone or computer, and the user interface is very intuitive and user friendly. My muzzle velocity range goes from ~ 600 ft/sec. for 0.455 Webley or 0.50 Remington Army Pistol, up to 4500 ft/sec for the 0.223 WSSM. In loading for my 0.577 Snider, I had several rounds fail to clear the muzzle because of poor ignition with very small charges of 4198, and the Xero C1 clued me in to check the bore with zero measured velocity. The small size and easy user interface mean that you can take the Xero C1 to the range every time you go, where the complication of a skyscreen chronograph is a serious deterrant. All in all, the Garmin Xero C1 is the best chronograph I have ever used, and I always bring it to the range, which means I know more about how my loads are performing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to use for ammo data collection I purchased the Garmin after hearing great things about its accuracy, portability, and ease of use. I found it fit all three of those scenarios. I have tested several lots of match 22LR for my small bore prone rifle and several loads of my hand loaded 223 match loads for my Palma rifle that really helped me dial in the best for each rifle. I'm very pleased with my purchase and it has exceeded my expectations!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice tool to see how your loads are doing I brought this to my indoor firing range (C2 Tactical, Tempe Az) to test some of my reloads and to compare it with some commercial loads that I had on hand. I was somewhat fearful that the device would trigger off of shots from neighboring lanes but I was pleased to find that this never happened. I have never used a chronograph before, but I was happy with the results I got. Some of my ammo showed high consistency (good), some had higher variance. The user interface felt a little bit clunky, but was very functional (up, down, back, ok and power). The gun did not seem to have to be very close to the gun under test to get (apparently) good readings. The main thing is that it showed me how my loads were working. My 9mm defense loads seemed very good (over 400 ft-lbs) while my 300 black out loads were weak (~700 ft-lbs out of a short 6.5" Dissent pistol). Based on that I am happy with my 9mm load (6 grains Longshot with 124 grain XTP hollow points) while I am going to try switching my 300 blackout from CFE BLK to Lil'gun to see if I can move more towards 1000 ft-lbs (125 grant TNT lead) It is nice to know where you are at to understand if all is good or if you need to change things around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chrono Chronographs have been available for a long time, but up until this new Garmin chronograph came along, they were a pain in the butt to use. The old Chrono's were almost more trouble than it was worth to get the information you were after. Not anymore! This new Garmin chronograph is so easy to use, you will be amazed. Just shoot and collect precise information about your loads. And this Garmin does the job without all the little "quirks" the old Chrono's had, making them such a pain. I couldn't be happier. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zero C1 Pro works great. I would recommend the Garmin Zero X pro to anyone looking for a compact easy to use chronograph. Make sure you download the Garmin shotview App to your phone and you can have all the ballistic information from your sessions readily available. I used to use pen and paper to record this information, now much handier and easy to access. So much nicer to having to shoot through wire guides or attach anything to the barrel and change barrel harmonics. Never missed a shot during my sessions or failed to record. I would highly recommend, very happy with mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chronograph I have used the chronograph three times, using a lever action 357 rifle, a 22LR pistol and a 41 mag revolver. All shots were recorder. It was easy to set up and use and saved me at least 30 min. set up time. This is the best investment I have made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth the wait I have wanted a good chronograph for load development for quite some time. When I saw Garmin had a new one coming out I was early to buy one. No disappointment, Garmin delivers a great product that works better than advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for Indoor Range I got this a month ago, it's easy to set up perfect for indoor range at 50 feet. I can throw it in my range bag.takes up no space. Great for testing my hand loads, I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWSOME I have had this for about two months now... It works just as good as they say, even better. I have placed it in front of the 25yard targets, 50 yard targets and 100 yards, it read as if was beside me on the bench.. does not drop shots, transfers info to my phone easily. records and avg and ES,SD fast.. Shows each shot and total shots for each groups, battery last long time worth ever penny you spend. I carry it in my rifle bag most of the time.. only takes couple of mins to setup and your ready to shoot for hours....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this chronograph and started using it about a month ago. It was much easier to use than my old ones and worked flawlessly. I am getting rid of the old ones and never looking back. I love this new Garmin chronograph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastically consistent and easy to use I've used it for a month with both my rifles and bow. Amazingly easy to set up and use compared to a standard chrono, dramatically easier than the LabRadar and even more convenient than Magnetospeed (although also much more expensive than all but the LabRadar). 20 second set up and hasn't ever missed a shot. With my bow I set it on a taller tripod right at the stabilizer. Unlike shoot through chronos you can just ignore it and shoot normally. Everyone at the range wants in on the action and the direct read KE is nice

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I do like this chronograph After several sessions at the range, I really love this device. I have used numerous other chronographs, including another Doppler Radar unit. The Xero is very tolerant of positioning and has not missed picking up a single shot. What I like best is its simplicity of use. No need to pore over the manual before every session. The Xero is straight forward and intuitive. The compact size is also a real plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to setup I bought this for use in our shop as switching from bow to cross bow on our old system wasn’t easy. I really like everything the unit offers. It does take a little experimenting to find exactly how close you need to be from the unit both behind and above.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chronograph to date I bought this a few months ago and have used it a ton. I have tracked around 2000 shots so far and I can count the number of mess ups it has had on one hand. I started using a Chrony wing chronograph about 20 years ago. Since then I upgraded to a Magneto Speed that worked very well, then I bought a LabRadar and finally I upgraded to the Garmin. The Magneto speed worked well, but I didn’t like that it changed my POI a little. It caused me to have an extra step in the reloading process. The LabRadar worked pretty good. I used it for about 4 years. The only gripe I had was its size. It did a good job picking up the velocity. It wasn’t quite as consistent at tracking as the Garmin. The setup on this chronograph is so easy! It is not finicky at all. I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, so far. I bought mine about one month ago from zeurooptic. I truly enjoying the easy operation of the device. The only thing is; the UPDATE is does not seem to be working as per manual. I only able to downloaded at the original set up. The apps indicated the current update version, but I Caan not update the new version to my device. Please advise. Thank you. Gratefully, Kenneth Wong

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and effective! I purchased one of these chronographs approximately three months ago. So far, I have used it to chronograph loads in lever-action rifles, bolt rifles, and revolvers. This works exceptionally well because I am capturing data on magnum pistol cartridges through lever-actions as well as revolvers. It quickly and easily captures information at rifle velocities and pistol velocities within minutes of set-up. It is even easier to shut down and transfer data to my computer for velocity management and reloading. Great tool and next step will to be compare velocities between the Garmin and the Magneto Speed chronograph. Well-constructed and solid product...THANK YOU GARMIN!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One in a Million I’ve owned the LabRadar, used the new FX, but this one . . , for me is the best for going to the range or out in the field. So small yet so powerful. Easily packed away on any type of trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing and very helpful device I bought this chronograph about a m,month ago and I am so glad I did. The device is small enough to shove into your pocket and it sets up in seconds. I love that it immediately sends results of each shot to my cell phone. If there is anything I could change I would allow notes when setting up for each shot series e.g. gun used, specific style of bullets, etc

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best crono I’ve ever used I bought this unit a month ago and I am very happy with it. I use it to do ladder tests on many calibers, many bullet weights, and many different kinds of powder and charges. The only thing I would like to see is the ability to do new strings within the session. For instance, I do five shot groups usually for five different loads of the same powder bullet combination. I would like to see that as a single session, with each string separated for velocity standard deviation, and so on. The way it is now I have to create a new session for each string. It’s not a big deal, but it would be nice to have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup, Just works I own a LabRadar , Caldwell and (accidentally shot) a Competiton Electronics. This is by far the best. Setup is a breeze. Even on a wobbly table that moves when shooting, it picked up the shots. Labradar is good but finicky. Nothings perfect, it did pick up ONE shot out of a hundred from my tripod mounted rifle, 6 feet to to left or unit. App let me ignore that shot, so as not to skew the data. App is simple but works and is way better than others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I have several other chronograph units, but the Garmin is the best. The only problem I have had is transferring the shot strings from my phone to my laptop computer. I managed to get one transferred, but only one. I was hoping to use a spreadsheet to add information but have had minimal success.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my use I've had this dor a few months now and couldn't be more pleased. Quick, easy set up at the range, no skyscreens to fool with and biggest plus: it hasn't dropped a shot! Battery life is good so I haven't had to use my battery bank at all. Bluetooth data transfer to my phone is impeccable. What's not to like?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome shooting accessory Now that I have this, it's a necessary piece of equipment when doing load development. Real time knowledge of muzzle velocity is a plus rather than relying on what load manuals indicate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool A friend I share a Lab radar with purchased the Garmin and showed it to me so I had to get one and I love it. Simple to set up and use. I find I used it a lot more often than the Lab radar because it is so simple to use. Garmin made it really simple!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you need! Avid shooter and reloader, have used every Chrono available. Easy to operate! No more worrying about shooting your chronograph. No aiming like the Labradar, no change of barrel harmonics like the Magnetospeed, and no inconsistent velocities like the Caldwell. Have used in all weather conditions and has held up great and accurate! Would buy again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin Xero C1 Fantastic I purchased this about a month ago, and finally got out to the Range. All I can say is it is fantastic! No more having to set up my old style shoot through Chronograph. It is so easy to set up next to you on the bench and use. I can get more data points on any type of shooting such as prone and sitting that I couldn't do before with the old style shoot through Chronograph. I'm very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to any reloaders or Shooters shooting factory ammo to true their Ballistic Calculator apps to make their best possible shots at distance. You invest alot of money in your gear, this tool helps you get the most from it. I purchased a hard case with cut out foam for mine at Harbor Freight for 12.99 to protect it for my range trips or outings to shoot steel at long distance. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply works Easy set up and use, has not missed a single shot yet. Many other reviews and videos testing accuracy, which seems spot on. Only thing is I would like is the app/unit have a way to switch between shot strings, as I have not found an easy way. Sometimes I like to “round-robin” my load testing or switch rifles to cool down, and would like to come back and add to a shot string. Other than that seems as close to perfect as I’ve used. Never had a Labradar to compare, only magnetospeed and traditional shoot over chronys, but portability and easy of use are amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing device! I bought this, so I could have a convenient way to check the velocity of my loads. It works fantastic. It may cost a little, but it’s the best money I have spent lately, it works great, gives you plenty of information and it’s super simple to set up. You won’t go wrong getting one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every single penny! I went from optical chronographs that were a pain to setup and unreliable to a magnetospeed that was reliable but effected accuracy to the Garmin now and all I can say is what a pleasure to use in comparison. Basically zero setup involved and reliable readings that don’t cause a point of impact shift. Even better I can use it with archery equipment. I’ve already used it with my recurve just to see how it would do and didn’t miss a single shot. At the range on the rifles it’s just plop it down turn on and shoot. Reads every single shot from every rifle I have including 22’s and the app is fantastic. Saves all the data right to my phone as soon as I’m done with the session. If you’re looking to buy one and done this is the unit you want! Absolutely love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade from labradar I had the labradar that was huge and buggy, always disconnected, missed shots, sucked power, needed to buy a tripod- the Garmin solves all those issues. Easy to send the results to a phone then to my computer. Only thing missing is a nice case that would be needed. I’ve charged it once and it’s still going a long time. Small and compact. No more missed shots. Can do anything from rubber bands to super fast bullets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Perfect!!! As most of you know a chronograph is pretty crucial in load development and long distant shooting. This device is ssssooooo simple to use! Connects to your phone via Bluetooth automatically(after the 1st connection) and stores all of your data. My favorite part is the set up and size of this device! So compact and sets up in 5 secs. The display is also very easy to read in a bright sunny day. I could read velocities from 15-20 ft back. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but have been super happy with the results!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chronograph I bought this chronograph to replace my Magneto Speed and an old type Caldwell light bar chrono. So far I'm extremely pleased with the performance of the Xero. Easy setup, easy read out and the recorded speed matches well with the Magneto Speed as far as I was able to verify. The synchronizing with the phone could be a bit faster but the app for the phone works very well without any crashes. I can highly recommend the Xero because of it's accurate measuring, ease of set up and the fact that it is not dependent on a light source or has to be attached to a barrel.
