Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely amazing smart/running watch! I bought the Epix (gen 2) a few weeks ago and was nervous at first as I've had the Forerunner 945 for quite a while now but I absolutely LOVE this watch. The graphics are incredible, I love the touch screen feature and the trust and confidence I've always had with Garmin products continues with the Epix. I was originally worried about the battery life but even with running 3-4 days in a row, and listening to music, the battery still lasts for 4-5 days. If you are on the fence with grabbing this watch, do yourself a favor and snag it! You will not regret the decision!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Face is unbelievable!!! I bought a 7x and kept it two weeks and returned it, back light was pitiful for a $1000 watch. Bought the epic a week later and love it!!! Face is very bright even in daylight, battery lasts a week which is great, I use my epic for golf ad the touch screen works seamlessly and is very easy to use. A shame garmin didn’t put the same bells and whistles in the Fe mix 7x

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous watch! This watch was in fact more than what I was expecting with the Fenix 7 release. Quite an easy choice between the two watches. I do have a tiny wrist, so had pick between the watch that fit me 7s and the watch I wanted to fit (Epix). If Garmin could offer a 45mm and a 51mm in Epix, it would be ideal. I do love the AMOLED display and the battery life is fabulous compared to an Apple Watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not sold on it yet. I've had this watch since right after the release and haven't gotten to use it to its full potential but have used it alot. I am beyond irritated that the wrist heart sensor works maybe 2 hours a day with all of the measured sections added up, also with that if my watch is correct I've slept a total of maybe 20 hours since I've gotten this watch... kinda wishing I would have gotten a smart watch and bought a garmin GPS separately instead of dropping a grand for both in one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from On going use, so far so good Since a have another Garmin , I need more time to have a complete picture. Meanwhile I can say nice to have an oled screen, beautiful maps and info. Excellent battery duration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome watch! As a previous owner of the Fenix 5x & 6x series and also a Venu 2 this is the watch I needed! Love the touch screen and the ability to use the watch like my Fenix! I also really like the size and reduced weight of the Epix 2 titanium case. This watch is much easier to sleep with than it’s predecessors. A great product overall! Garmin, one ask….please add the ability to add and update alarms in Connect back to this watch. Also, can you please make the same ultimate nylon band for the Epix series that you have for the Fenix?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch for exercise, but not great for golf Enjoying the watch for its health attributes, but the golf activity has fewer features than my Garmin S60 Approach golf watch. It desperately needs (1) auto hole advance, (2) easier scoring, and (3) a better stat gathering format. The screen is very nice. The Fenix 7 will only be good for expeditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Display! The Epix bridges the gap between a super attuned fitness equipment apparatus and a cool Apple watch. The Amoled display is easy to view in sunlight, and various watch faces are easily changed on the app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I’ve had 4 garmin models, and the Epix is simply the best , and it’s not close. Too many pluses to mention in the review, but just the screen makes it worth the extra expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EPIX review I had a FENIX watch that I lost. In replacing it, I found the EPIX more than satisfied my expectations for a more favorable price. I always said that the FENIX “changed my life.” The EPIX has done nothing he same. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epix 2, best fitness smartwatch around I have been a Fenix user for a couple of years with the 5S and then the 6S. This time I opted for the Epix 2 and I am thrilled with the Epix. The touch screen makes navigating options easier, the AMOLED display is fantastic but does not impact battery length with the option to activate only when you lift your wrist. The native fitness options that provide tracking are on point. The Epix 2 is THE fitness smartwatch to get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawless functioning, love the amoled screen!! I started with the Fenix 5x next went to Fenix 6x pro now to the Epix GEN 2. The only thing that bothered me on my previous models was the screen all all three watches work flawlessly never a hiccup but I am so happy to see this updated scream it's so vivid in alive makes me very happy also the 47 mm Epix fits my wrist just a little better so that also makes me happy I don't feel like I'm wearing a weight when I'm at work I'd like to wear my watch 24 hours a day for the metrics any Epix has been seamless

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal watch This is my fourth Garmin and my third Fenix so I was familiar with features and functionality. What sets this watch apart from the others is the incredible display, a true game changer. Easily visible in all conditions, including bright sun light. I went for a run with my Fenix 6 Pro Solar for a comparison and never I thought I would say this about a Fenix, but was disappointed…the screen on the Epix is really that good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time Garmin watch owner I’ve always been a mechanical watch person. Only smart watch I ever tried was Apple, but that didn’t last very long because charging every night was, and still is, a hassle IMHO. I learned about the Fenix series a few years ago…Fenix 6 to be specific, and as tempted as all the features and battery life was, I didn’t dig the dull screen, especially in sapphire (which is the only way I’d get it). So I patiently waited after hearing rumors about the Fenix7 and got even more pumped when I heard there might be an AMOLED version. The Epix2 solved my concerns. It’s got a great screen and battery life. With gesture on o(vs.always on), 1-2hrs workouts everyday (always on screen + full GPS), and sleep spo2 I’ve been getting @14days. I normally charge with @2-3day left and it takes approx 2hrs. For me the time between getting home and bed works out well, once every 11-12 days. For a next Gen, I’d like to see a 51mm AMOLED with Solar/sapphire. The larger screen would make quick glances while working out even easier and the solar would improve, or at least maintain, battery life because of the larger AMOLED screen. For now, my expensive mechanical watches have been put away for the foreseeable future. Anyone want to buy a Rolex or JLC?, LOL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant New Display I bought this to take advantage of the new brighter screen and have been pleased with the purchase. I wish that Garmin and Apple played better together (i.e., take calls on the Garmin, respond to texts, etc.) but I'm not sure that Apple will allow that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright, beautiful, and bold. Took a little while to customize to my preferences. There are a lot of ways to customize this thing. But the data provided is deep and helpful. Once set to my tastes, the watch faces, the widgets, and the phone software provided all the info. I could ask for. And the quickness of the gps connection time is saving precious years of my life. All in all, a great fitness product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Not as durable as I thought. I have been wearing my epix for about one month. Truly, it is an amazing watch, however, my heart broke when I noticed a blemish on the bezel. I will give you some personal background so you understand how I care for my watch. Personally, the amount of money for the epix, I consider, a lot of money. I researched and saved prior to making what I believe a “big purchase”. Although, I presumed this watch as the most durable I have worn, I still took precautions when wearing just based off the price. I never wear it during kettle bell workouts, take it off prior to showering, even take it off prior to doing my hair. Furthermore, I am very cognizant of my movement when wearing it such as, bumping it into door ways, etc… This is just all based off of me feeling if I spend this much money on a watch, I want to take care of it. Today, I randomly noticed a blemish on the bezel which completely surprised me due to how I care for this watch. I have never once dropped it, banged it against anything, or have any situation happen that would make me consider so. Possibly this is just a blemish on my watch that I failed to notice when I received it, or could be a weakness in the design. Even though pictures don’t capture it well, I have attached them to show even though it is a very small blemish. Regardless of this, the epix is a great watch that I have enjoyed using! Hopefully, this is was just a blemish I failed to notice when unboxing. As for tech/specs Even with a small wrist, this looks great. Using it to track sleep and workouts is such a bonus for me. I hope this review helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Golf Watch, quirky software Great looking watch, fabulous screen, unbelievable battery life (I can go at least 3 18 hole rounds, might even get in 4) but the golf software still misses shots, misses hole changes, and was off by 10 yards at the end of my round yesterday. When I first got my Venu two years ago, that never happened, how about we go back and look at that software? Happy to come back and give 5 stars when fixed. At this price it should be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AmazIng watch I went from a Fenix 3hr to a Epix gen2. Huge upgrade! I really liked my wife’s Apple watch due to the display but needed a true fitness tracking device with the sports I do. The Epix gen2 is exactly that. The touch screen is great. I love viewing the vivid display as I run or bike. GPS activities seem very accurate. I thought about buying the Fenix 7 but I personally have no need for the solar charger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I was looking for I’ve been using this as a daily driver for over two weeks and it has the features I wanted in a smartwatch. If Apple would allow the ability to completely integrate with iOS, it would be perfect. The screen is great and I have charged it about every fifth day at about 20% charge remaining (about an hour of exercise activity per day).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's the screen Very happy. Wed to excellent Garmin ecosystem, and finally have a watch with a great screen. Battery life fine so far, and my favorite app Golf is much better than the Fenix and Marq watches I had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I hoped for. Battery is awesome I upgraded from Fenix 5 plus. Was nervous about the battery life but after 3 weeks of use I am very pleased. Getting about 6.5-7 days with always on display with 7 workouts I will say most of my workouts right now are inside so only doing about 2-3 GPS workouts a week, but still amazing. Screen is so much better than the Fenix. Unless you are an ultra marathoner or take long hiking trips This watch is the choice over Fenix. The only thing I wish was improved was that garmin provided more exclusive watch faces to take full advantage of wonderful display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long time Fenix owner in love with the Epix Bought this on release day received it very shortly after. I have owned every Fenix watch from the original to the 6x Pro Solar. The Epix is by far the best Garmin watch I have ever owned. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. I love having the ability to use the touch screen for day-to-day use and shut it off during activities. The AMOLED screen is a major game-changer for me as I have owned apple watches and loved their screens. If you are on the fence between an Epix and the latest Fenix 7 I would strongly suggest going with the Epix, you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ridiculous Watch Tried to wait for the New Forerunner, tried the Venu 2 Plus but the Epic 2 is the way to go. There’s options for everything you need. Buy the Watch- Link up your Spotify and go for a run. Having a Watch like this will make you go out Run/Hike/Swim and the Screen is ridiculous on a run. Buy the Watch- Stop making excuses- Better than Apple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shockingly good! I have been using Garmin Fenix watches since they were first launched. They were great but the sporty appearance and display wasn't a great fit for certain occasions. The Epix Gen 2 pretty much all the sports functionality of the Fenix watches with a state of the art screen and unmatched battery life for this class of display. The bright sharp display and the battery life just blew me away. I get a full week of battery life wearing it 24X7 with 5 one-hour activities each week and with the always-on display active. Appearance has been upgraded as well, so it is now my go to watch for everything - sports, casual, travel and business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful screen and plenty of battery life for me I bought the Epix 2 as soon as it was available so I’ve had it for a few weeks. I’ve used it for hiking and walks three times a week and it has plenty of juice. I love the crispness of the screen and the touch screen is really handy. Top of the line Garmin lives up to its billing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always on display doesn’t work If you expecting that the your screen will be always on, with bright colors, good visibility ect. Then you have to go with Fenix. My epix glitching, always on display doesn’t work after last software update. All what I can to say, GARMIN’s AOD (always on display) is more marketing than true.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing watch. Build quality is lacking. I've owned and worn garmin watches since 2016. I’m defiantly a fan of the fenix 6 line, the epix 2 build on that platform and everything gets better. Amazing watch. However the buttons are terrible. They have loads of slop and have a distinct triple click. It’s hard to tell if your on a false click or if it’s the one that will work. Unbelievable on a $999 watch. Garmin told me the fenix 7 and epix have a “new feel” to the buttons. I wish they just felt like a Casio or better yet the fenix 6. That being said I may still keep it, everything else is just so good. Hopefully they get this sorted. Build quality has always been near perfect with garmin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ultimate Sports Smartwatch... I have owned every version of the Fenix line since its inception. I also owned the Epix Gen 1. Garmin's Epix Gen 2 is the perfect evolution of these products. Not only that, but it adds features that have elevated the watch to compete alongside the most recognized smartwatches today. The AMOLED screen is visible in direct sunlight and the battery life outperforms the Samsung Galaxy watch and the Apple watch by many days (6 to 16, depending on your preferred settings). The ruggedness of the watch guarantees that I don't worry about using it for Crossfit, an obstacle course, running, or at the gym.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Watch Ever I bought the Epix when it came out a month ago to replace my FR945. I am very pleased with the watch- the display is bright, easy to read, and great colors. The battery life has been as advertised with a bit over 6 days in always-on mode and about an hour of GPS activities a day. It does everything my FR945 did and more plus a WAY better display. It's a great watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent visibility. Please add functionality! Pretty solid unit. Large device, but smaller than Garmin Fenix 6X (which was too bulky for running, IMHO). Clear/Bright screen/colors even in bright sunlight. Strong features and pretty good accuracy. Problems which could easily be corrected: (1) Please provide manual control of sleep tracking. As it is now, sleep/wake times for each day have to be entered in to the system, but who among is actually can predict the exact moments they will get into and out of bed?? Give us an option, not just to enter specific time frames, but also simply to turn-on/off sleep monitoring ourselves when we get in/out of bed each day. Easy software fix, if you ask me. (2) When are we going to have turn-by-turn notifications with left/right arrows?? To me, this is the simplest software fix! There were Garmin devices many years ago which had this feature, but for some reason, Garmin stopped supporting this feature and refuses to add it back in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall great watch, happy with the upgrade I've had this new Epix (2) for around a month now, and overall I'm very, very happy with it. I upgraded from a Fenix 5, so the newer features and upgraded GPS alone was a huge jump. However the jewel in the crown is the screen, of course. Can't say enough about how much it changes the everyday use of it and how much it improves the experience, especially with the touch screen along with the buttons. The only drawback is the battery life (which is still pretty good). I have been consistent at 6 days between charges with regular 1 hour daily workouts plus at least 1 GPS run and ride each weekend. I used to get 10-12 days with the Fenix 5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving it so far! Have had this awesome piece of technology for about a month and I’ll say I couldn’t be more pleased with it. Garmin clearly sees the need to deliver an improved screen and UI experience while still remaining faithful to their core user base belief tenets of battery life, rugged design etc. The EPIX is a perfect compromise that delivers on BOTH sides of the ledger. I have been using Garmin devices for years (last one being the Fenix 6 Pro Solar) so I know what’s behind the design ethos of this product. It’s great. Very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, incredibly useful watch I've had the Epix for a month and am loving it. I had been wearing an Instinct Solar, which is a great watch, so really didn't need an upgraded watch - but getting the Epix (with sapphire screen and AMOLED display) was absolutely worth it. The display is easy to read; the battery life is still very good; the maps function, which can show a route back to start on a hike, is excellent. Data from strength training and other workouts are really useful on the watch and, of course, in Garmin Connect. The Epix is well made and comfortable to wear. I'm still learning more about what the watch can do, but, for me, the Epix was absolutely the right choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Display solid - but… The display is fantastic, functionality is what you would expect with Garmin OS, battery life is great - when compared to Apple! The only critique, we need it to be 51mm size - it’s a win win- larger case - larger battery, and we would have an absolute winner !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From a long term Fenix owner, get the Epix... I have owned Fenix watches for years and upgraded from each model (3x,4x,5x,6x). I love the Fenix. It is durable, has tremendous battery life, and as of the 6X mostly every sort of tracking that most people would need. I have been to Patagonia, Africa, driven across the US, working out in the gym. The Fenix was a reliable instrument. The only think I wish it had was a better display. That is where the Epix comes in, it is slightly smaller & lighter than the 7X and has a OLED display that is very visible in bright sunlight. The Epix has all of the capability, minus the solar. I keep it in gesture mode and recently tested wearing it for 13 days before needing to recharge at 20%. During that time I tracked a couple of short hikes, went skin diving, tested the sleep monitoring, moderate usage for sure, but it looks like it would last the entire 16 days as advertised between charging. In short, as a Fenix user who does not do ultra marathons, and carries a solar charger when taking long treks of several weeks in the wilderness. The Epix has become my go to watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Visibility is everything I've had a Fenix 5 and a Fenix 6 Pro. I assumed I'd get the Fenix 7, but started reading about the screen on the Epix and I made the switch. With the Fenix, I would sync data and view it my iPhone. With the Epix, I view it very comfortably right on my wrist. I have the screen light only on movement and battery life is a solid 16 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning screen, comprehensive features I have been training with the epix for about a month now, upgrading from a forerunner 645M. My motivation was primarily for extended battery life for single gps activities, and I struggled to make a decision between the fenix 7 and epix. I decided that the epix offered more than plenty battery, and the higher screen resolution would benefit maps (which was a feature I didn't have before but was very much interested in). I am not disappointed, I love the screen, and am enjoying the huge feature set. Some features, and activities, I will never use, and some are of limited use to me, but it's reassuring that this expensive watch should cover all my needs and more for years to come. The GPS is great, I rarely had issues with my 645, but the tracks on the epix are spot on in the open, in the city the tracks still struggle a little but are vastly improved. The only negative is the size, it's bigger than I'm used to, and the Fenix 7s would probably have worked for me, but with the loss of screen resolution - but I have no regrets with chosing the epix, and will probably get used to the larger watch (just like the 645)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best garmin watch yet I upgraded from a fenix 6x and am so happy I did. The display is spectacular, and having touch screen functionality makes using maps on the fly so much more practical. Sure, the battery life is a little shorter with heavy gps and display use but it is still plenty long enough for multi day trips in the backcountry. I debated about the 7x versus this but I am really glad I went with the epix

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade to Fenix 3HR I've had a Fenix for several years, but never really liked the too-dark screen. Love the Epix2. The screen is brilliant and additional, modern Garmin functionality makes it a more useful smart watch. I haven't really gotten into the habit of trying to use the touch, but when I do, it is nice. My only small gripe, is that it seems overly aggressive about going into power/burn-in saving mode. It turns on when I move my wrist to look at the face, but sometimes it will flip right back to the power save mode. The one setting I found didn't seem to make a difference. The other issue is that I find it maybe a little small--I think I have been used to the slightly beefier Fenix and this now seems slim. Face size is nice, but I'd like a wider band.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epix is Epic The Epix 2 has bright and vibrant OLED that is truly amazing to view indoor and outdoor. I upgraded from the Fenix 6 Titanium Sapphire and always found the screens on the Fenix 5,6 and after looking at the 7 to be a hit washed out. The 16 day battery life of the Epix is more than enough for me and the accuracy of the sensors always top notch. It would be great to see some enhancements to the software to improve workout detection and one day some ability to respond to txt messages at the very least if not some calling capabilities. Overall a wonderfully device and leader in the space that sets the bar high!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too complicated As a new user I find the introduction videos and start up guides woefully lacking in step by step usage to make it easy for the new user. Trying to keep up with the videos while using the watch is impossible. Too bad. Intro step by step guides are necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Epic Epix I’m a Garmin fan. As soon as the Fenix 7 and Epix became available I started my research. I enjoyed the Fenix 6s but was drawn to the Amoled screen of the epix. It reunified me to go up a size but that was easy to adjust to. Now that I’ve used it for a month I don’t know how I lived without that amazing screen and the added features!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The screen is worth the upgrade. This was an upgrade from a Fenix 6 Sapphire, so feature wise many functions are incremental upgrades. The screen, however, makes the device. Battery life is nominally worse as a result, but there are the usual options to disable functions if extra life is required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Overall Watch On The Market I’ve owned the 245, 645, 945, F6, VA, 945 LTE, Venu 2. This is the best of all worlds with the best quality screen, incredible battery life, largest set of training features, mapping, music, and recovery and wellness features on the market by a large margin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch with one key feature missing The display is what really sets this watch apart. It’s bright, high resolution and rich with color. The watch is feature packed as you’d expect. The companion apps (Garmin ConnectIQ for example) need some UI and UX love however. The battery like takes a big hit due to the AMOLED screen, but it’s a worthwhile trade off. That being said though is where the key feature is missing - a solar option like the Fenix 6 and 7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the upgrade I bought this watch a couple weeks ago to replace my Fenix 3HR. WOW!!! What an upgrade in display and features. The display is fantastic and many excellent apps to track my fitness and health. HR sensor has definitely improved from my Fenix 3HR and now measures Ox level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Garmin Yet!! I’ve owned various fenix watches over the years - most recently the fenix 5 plus. These have rarely been a daily watch, but workout watches. For daily a daily watch I’ve owned several Apple watches. I’ve loved the smart watch features. Now the Epix 2 is my only watch - for both workouts and a daily watch. It’s the best Garmin yet, and with the AMOLED touch screen and smart watch features, it completely replaces the Apple Watch for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The update we've all been waiting for! Love the screen! Like, LOVE IT! So easy to read, and battery life is still great. I'm not doing any multi week expeditions anytime soon, so a week long battery is plenty. I upgraded from the Fenix 5X Plus, which was too bulky for me to wear all day, the Epic 2 is the perfect size. I like the body battery function as well, and it seems pretty spot on in terms of how I feel through the day. Only negatives I can think of are the extra bands are ridiculously expensive, and Garmin added the customization option where you could order with a specific band after I ordered, so no way to get a different band without paying an absurd premium. Garmin please make some of those Nylon bands more affordable! And last thing is the watch is very sensitive to being near your phone. If you walk away from the phone a bit you get a lot of connection on and offs from your phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An overall great watch For those of us getting on in years, the brighter screen is extremely helpful, I can actually read some of the notifications etc without having to pull out my reading glasses. The touch screen is great, but while working around the yard etc things will bump it change the screen. It's not like a lot of touch screen where just your finger will activate it. However, I love the feature as a whole. All the other things it does are just great, like their entire Fenix lineup. They don't make deciding what watch to get easy. I have enjoyed all the watches I have owned (Fenix 3, 6 and now Epix 2) and I like the Garmin ecosystem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and Elegant I am a long term 5X user and was waiting for the 7X, but the Epix Gen 2 with its amoled screen looked like it would suit my needs perfectly. I use the Epix for a variety of sports... MTB, Road Cycling, Trail Running, SUP and Hiking. My requirements for battery life match what the Epix provides. I've finished 2 weeks of thorough testing. Week 1 was using AOD for both General Use and Activities and the battery lasted 6.5 days with an hour or 2 of activities daily in All Satellite Mode. Week 2, I simply changed from AOD to Disabling AOD in General Use but using Gestures and using AOD and Gestures during Activities. On day 7 after a morning bike ride, I have 5 days of smartphone life remaining or 29%. Added features for me coming from the 5X is Trail Running V02max, Updated HR Monitor, Music and Payments. And then there is the amoled screen, which is Fantastic. The amoled screen and the addition of the touchscreen are really beneficial when utilizing the map. Instead of many button presses and the tedious process to move the screen position, it's now fast and intuitive. Tap the screen and tap + or _ to zoom in or out, then swipe to move the screen. Very cool. Other enhancements are the health metrics like HRV, Pulse OX, and Stamina, I appreciate when viewing my activities and status in Garmin Connect. Size wise the Epix Gen 2 is a good fit for me. The 5X was a large watch on my wrist, so the medium sized Epix works better. The bonus is that the screen is actually larger on the Epix than my 5X. The Epix is 1.3 while the 5X is 1.2, smaller than the later 6X and 7X. So, coming from the 5X, really met my needs well. All in all, a great device and it does what I need and wanted and does so with style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade! Upgraded from my Fenix 6 pro. Love the display on the new Epix! Only issue I found so far (about 1 month since purchase) is the the BT connectivity is about 5-10ft shorter than my Fenix 6 pro. Wearing the watches 24/7, you can tell differences like this connectivity issue. The heart rate sensor seems to show blank( - -) often as well. Otherwise, an amazing watch and battery life is great (display always on feature off)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally the Fenix I was waiting for! I loved my Fenix 6X Pro Solar, but the screen was always a challenge. Very rarely could I read it indoors. I was hoping the new Fenix 7X would fix that. Instead, the Epix 2 arrived! The screen is excellent - bright, colorful and easily compares to the watches from the smartphone companies (since I can't call them out by name). The battery life is surprisingly good. I have been averaging 7 days with the Always On Display (which is a huge misnomer.) The screen will dim and then go blank if there it senses no movement. Garmin already released an update which improves the active screen time. The screen also defaults to off during bedtime. Third-party watchfaces from the Connect IQ store must be compatible with Always On (another issue). There is no Solar option in the Epix 2 line. The screen is finally a touch screen too. You can choose between touching or using the standard buttons to trigger Apps and functions. Almost all of the Fenix Activites, Apps and Glances have been carried over to the Epix. And because of the screen, they look so much better. Heart rate monitor, Pulse Ox and GPS Tracking are what you expect from Garmin. But, enabling Pulse Ox will significantly reduce your battery life just like in the Fenix. There is no EKG function which is disappointing. Overall, I am thrilled with the Epix 2. Also consider adding the matching Garmin Quickfit 22 Titanium Band to complete the high-end lux look. It's definitely worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the watch I’ve been waiting for I’ve been a fan of Garmin sports watches for the past 10 years. But I’ve always struggled with the display. I eventually switched into Apple Watch because of the AMOLED display. Finding the Apple Watch a pain with battery life and inaccurate measurements, I went back to my trusty Garmin Fenix 6X. Then…the Epix 2 hit. This thing gives me all the metrics I could want, amazing battery life, AND an AMOLED screen. Absolutely love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the screen I recently came from a Marq Athlete and love the features of the Epix 2. Mostly the screen is what stands out. My main sport is trail running and I do about 3 100 mile races per year. These races typically take me 24 hours to finish so extreme battery life isn't a necessity, but if I need it I know it's there. This watch is the best unless you need a week-long GPS connection, which I don't know anyone that does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Device Ordered my epix on release date and got it about a month later. In short, its exactly what I expected and was looking for. I upgraded from a fenix 5 plus, and was debating between this and the fenix 7. The amoled screen looks amazing and I can deal with the shorter (5-7 day) battery. Most of the features are standard as expected. My wife just got the venu2 and overall Id say those are comparable, but i like the heftier/more rugged looks of the epix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good watch. Could be great with some tweaks I purchased the Epix Gen 2 a couple of days after it launched. This was my first true fitness tracking “smart” watch. Awesome looking watch. The display and responsiveness are incredible. I love all of the features, activities, and just general feel of the watch. However, since day one I’ve had an issue with the Gesture mode. I do not like to keep my watch “always on”, so I have been using gesture. Unfortunately, this feature has been malfunctioning. When I turn my wrist to view the watch face, sometimes the display will only “flash” for a split second and turn back off. The watch will continue to do this until I push and hold a button, sometimes repeatedly. This is mostly just annoying, especially when you have something in your non-watch hand and can’t hit the buttons, but for $1000 I shouldn’t be dealing with this. I contacted Garmin support. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely friendly and tried several things to fix it, but was told he’d have to “look into” the problem and I never heard back. That was 2 weeks ago. Also, I know wrist based HR monitors aren’t perfect, but I guess I didn’t realize just how inaccurate they could be. I wear the watch as instructed by Garmin, and yet when doing activities where my HR is well above 170 (HIIT or sprints), the watch will be tracking my HR in the low 100’s. If you are a serious athlete or want the most accurate training data, this device probably isn’t your best bet. So, would I recommend this watch? Depends on what you are looking for. I think you could probably get most of these same features on a much less expensive watch and pair it with a chest HR strap to get more accurate fitness tracking. But it is an awfully slick looking and functioning watch if that’s your thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent New Product The features on this smartwatch are first rate. The AMOLED display is very easy to read compared to the MIP display on the Fenix models. There is a small tradeoff in battery life with the new display. If you do not mind charging more frequently, the AMOLED display with its higher resolution, expansive color palette and brightness is well worth it. The unit has essentially the same functionality as the new Fenix models and the same UI. I really wish that this series came in a 51mm version. I have used a Fenix 6X Pro for several months and am very partial to the larger face. I ultimately returned the Epix and will stay with my 6X Pro until Garmin decides to offer a 51mm version. Come on Garmin-You can do it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not my first cruise, but by far the best one! Happy Satisfied owner of the fenix 5x sapphire and fenix 6x sapphire I decided to try the Epix solar sapphire…. So far I am impressed withe the added features, the outrageous display and Garmin’s instrument experience. I also find the battery life easily manageable with no compromise on my part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great balance of beautiful screen and long battery Coming from a Fenix 6, I was concerned about the battery life of the EPIX with AMOLED screen. But Garmin’s implementation of “gesture mode” is so good, I am getting LONGER battery life than with the Fenix. And the screen is sublime - perfectly readable in all conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it but has some problems So I have had my watch for about a month. I really like a lot of the features. The battery life is probably the best part about this watch and the OLED. But there have been a few issues. For one, the black coating seems to be coming off on the edge just a little bit. I am very careful with my watch and know I haven't done anything that would cause this so I thought that was weird. Maybe a quality issue? Another thing is sometimes if my phone is in my back pocket or even just right next to me at my desk, I have noticed that my watch will disconnect and reconnect over and over again. You think that Bluetooth wouldn't struggle to get through my body to my phone.... Don't know what the issue is here but this is a $1000 watch. With a premium price we expect a premium product. The product has promise but if anybody want's to contact me from support, I would gladly talk with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great update I had been a fenix fan for most of the series life but used an apple watch for daily use for a short time for work purposes and loved the apple screen, but the epix screen and giving a solid weeks worth of battery life with the screen. Perfect. I really love how maps look when out hiking such better user experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In love with my Epix 2 of my clients got them also This is a huge step up from the 945, from the face, calorie counter, lighting all of it. Battery great too, my 945 was 2 years old and would only stay charged for a day and 1/2. This one is good for a solid 4 days with 25 miles of running

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Huge Step Above I have owned the Fenix 5 since it came out and had no complaints with it. After reading other reviews for the Epix, I decided to make the plunge. Can I say, I have no regrets. The Epix is above and beyond my previous Garmin. The screen is what I had been wanting. The crisp brightness, along with touch features, of the screen works great during exercise and casual use. The packed features in the watch leaves minimal room to want more. The battery life is exceptional for a watch with this screen quality. As for the price, I have no regrets and couldn't see myself going back to the Fenix line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I have always loved the Fenix line up from Garmin. The first gen Apple Watch was my first smart watch, the battery life was a major limitation and I got into fitness I drifted away to the realm of Garmin. Started with a forerunner and then a Fenix 5 Pluse then a Fenix 6 and the Epix 2. I absolutely enjoy the Amoled screen and the touchscreen additions compared to the Fenix 6. If you are fitness focused then Garmin is the way to go and if you want a Shiny screen then Epix Gen 2 is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Upgrade Upgraded from a Fenix 6S sapphire and I am more than pleased with my new Epix 2. The screen hands down along with the maps being in color while I’m on my hike are fantastic and so worth it! Wish they offered a smaller band option for women who wear the watch however, but other than that very pleased Had to contact customer support last week due to a setting on the watch being inadvertently turned off, he fixed it in no time flat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Screen I did buy the epix2 as a continuation of my history with farming product it’s very light great colorful bright screen, light easy to read while cycling, only thing I wish was size of screen in proportion to bezel size I wish the bezel smaller which will make the Watch more wearable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Garmin Watch to date I have owned several Garmin products (Insnict, Instinct Solar, Instinct Solar Tactical, FR 945, FR945 LTE, Tactix Delta). This has all the features you’d expect from the Fenix line with an amazing display. Somehow Garmin has created a OLED display that lasts 2 weeks. There is no watch that compares to this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epix Gen 2 The watch was initially amazing. The touch screen was very responsive. The AMOLED display was full of bright, vibrant colors. I unfortunately had sound issues when I played the music I had uploaded on the device. I returned the watched. I have since researched that Garmin published a firmware update to fix the issue I was having.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but needs to be 51 in size I love the clarity of the screen which is why I decided to put my Fenix 51mm bezel with 1.4 display aside. After a month of using the Epix it is obvious there needs to be a larger version like the Fenix line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Device I bought this device about two weeks ago and I’ve always bought the higher end X pro versions and with this device I feel like this device has all the features and more and adding the touchscreen ability and OLED screen I don’t feel like I’m losing technology versus the other X pro versions, Battery life is amazing I really believe this is the top tier of the Garmin watches and at a 47 mm it’s perfect for my wrist versus the 51 mm, I would recommend this watch for anyone who loves running hiking biking etc. etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the upgrade from Fenix 5X I debated whether the new features were worth the upgrade from what I thought as a perfectly fine Fenix 5X. After 2 weeks of use I'm happy I made the purchase. The display is much more clear and bright, yet the battery still lasts almost a week (Always on display except during sleep). Changing the display settings to only come on when I look at my wrist would make it last even longer. Also, the ability to turn only turn the touchscreen on when using specific activities (times I want to use the map) is a god send. The map is much more usable with a touchscreen, but I don't have to use it any other time and risk inadvertent touches. Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mr. Real estate approves I purchased my first Garmin a year ago. I went cheaper for my first one. I purchased the Venu 2. It was having trouble staying on, the quality of the case was not the best. Taking the boat out of the water it popped of my wrist and lost it in the lake. I am a large mechanical watch collector. The information I was getting on my sleep and works had me hooked. I started looking for a new upgrade. I purchased the fenix first. I had the XL first and it was just too big for daily wear. Although I loved the flashlight. I then went to the Fenix 41 and I really liked the solar charging options function. I just felt the display was bare and switched the the epix 2. So happy with it. I also love the addition info I get on my sleep and workouts. I even looked at Apple Watches but I decided I did not want more “screen time” in my life and really just use the watch for fitness. I am awaiting some new bands, the scale and heart monitor to come to be all in. Garmin makes great quality gear. I was disappointed in the first watches quality so I had to make sure to buy one with a better case

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The no compromise Garmin I’ll make it short: Amazing screen - both brightness and pixel definition 18 days of battery with daily gps/workout use Never going back to an Apple watch. Even the eventual Apple Watch Ultra 7 won’t have this battery life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely the Garmin watch to own Having swum with a Fenix 5 Saphire (I loved it) for what seems like forever (four years+) I switched to a Fenix 7S. I always had good experiences with the Fenix 5. I had thought a smaller watch would be more streamlined for my swimming. That was a mistake as the smaller screen proved unreadable for me at the pool without reading glasses. The Fenix 7S Saphire Solar also had some operational quirks (random shutdowns) and a short battery life. So I bit the bullet and ordered an Epix gen2. This thing is amazing!!! Frankly, I don't quite understand the Fenix series in light of the Epix. The OLED has twice the resolution of the Fenix 7 watches. The display is very bright and very clear! This is the display that, in the past, we all thought we were getting based on Garmin marketing pictures and were disapointed. Finally, a Garmin watch that actually has the bright display that looks like the marketing pics! I have no issues reading this watch in the pool without glasses in the bright sun. And the watch is very responsive operationally, very fast to respond to all user inputs. This thing blows my old Fenix 5, and frankly the newer 7S, away. It seems the battery life will likely be on par with my old Fenix 5, which was more than adequate and got me about a week+ without GPS but including daily swim workouts. So I'm a 6' swimmer guy and I actually ordered the silver/white watch and paired it with with a black nylon strap from the Garmin web site. The silver bezel with black band and silver hardware looks pretty sharp. Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would Recommend But Understand What You Get This is an expensive watch and there are cheaper options within the Garmin eco system and elsewhere. At first, I fretted that I wasted my money. However, over time, I have grown to appreciate the watch. First of all, if you get the regular version (which is cheaper) you get a watch that does not look like a sports/workout watch. Second, the battery life is outstanding, particularly for a watch that does as much as this watch does which I LOVE!!! Third, Garmin seems to be regularly sending out updates, some of which increase what this watch already does. On the negative side, like most devices that “do all” like this watch, it complicates doing some individual things. For example, I am a golfer and have the S60 Garmin golf watch. Both of these watches do golf, but the dedicated golf watch is just easier to use, IMHO. The other difference is that the S60 is much lighter than the Epix and I prefer the lighter watch for golf. In sum, for most people this watch will be a bit of a splurge. However, if you have the cash, this is the best every day watch with outstanding battery life and a TON of functionality. If I had to do it over again, I would still buy this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Coming from a Garmin 310xt for almost 10 years this is a HUGE upgrade. I've never used a smartwatch before so I have no idea how it compares to everything else on the market but I think it's amazing. I have used it for a few weeks now to track workouts, running and skiing. Running and ski tracking features are great. As with most watches this cannot be worn during ALL workouts as it would be smashed by kettlebells. Screen looks great. Tracks a slew of metrics. Navigation looks fantastic. Battery life seems adequate and it charges surprisingly fast. Be warned everything about it is extremely expensive (check out the price on the quickfit bands!).

There is little or no how to videos on how to use all the features on each watch. You have all these great Engineers building these great products and solo information on how to use the great products that you make. I've only been able to find information from individuals that make how to videos. Why why??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not perfect This thing is definitely a beautiful watch to look at....but function wise - we got some issues. number 1: cant use the map / routing function AND heart rate / pulse ox or any of the other info functions at the same time! in other words, start up the navigating function and then try to get your heart rate .... and one ends up dumping the navigation function.... number 2: the bands are too small ! I'm not a big person here, but i'm on the last hole using the silicon band that came with the watch AND the leather band i bought extra (at $70 dollars!) number 3: don't expect much more than 3 days batt life (unless one enables ALL the batt save functions... with pretty much eliminates all the fancy features of this $thousand dollar watch) number 4: this is a workout watch first ... and a hiker / back country explorer second. In other words, all the software fanciness is for the runner / biker / workout types. Hiker folks need more software fanciness in the geospatial realm to make this a worthwhile product for them ....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Fenix You Can Read I am a lifelong runner who has to monitor health information. I love the Fenix but this watch is simply more legible. With daily activity, I find myself charging it every 6-8 days with fast rebound to 100% within an hour or two. Display and IQ store options should satisfy most picky customers. The sapphire glass seems to hold against challenges. The calibration to treadmill pace is painless. Overall, an excellent companion for running and trail running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! I bought a vivoactive 4 originally and it struggled keeping GPS where I live for runs and long rucks I was doing. Also loading Spotify playlists was very glitchy. So I went all out and got an Epix. Absolutely worth it! Last for like 14 days when I don’t have always on running, which is fine because I can just rotate my wrist and it lights up. GPS is insane and works far better than my phone or Apple Watch ever did. It is very effective at tracking all your stats and giving you real time data during the day and as you workout. Did a 12 mile ruck in the woods with it while playing music and had zero issues and it still worked another 8 days after that before I needed to charge it. The only con I have is the suggested recovery is whack! Run a few miles or do some functional fitness or CrossFit and it tell you that you need to rest like 70+hours. Haha Overall, I’m extremely happy with it though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not too Smart Yet I bought the Epix Gen 2 thinking that I was buying a truly awesome smartwatch but sadly found that most of the apps or functions still require you to figure out which side button you needed to use to move between functions instead of being able to scroll with your finger. Ya, the Epix Gen 2 has some really cool functions but coming from a Samsung smartwatch to this was a move back to the future. Garmin should call this an almost smartwatch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive Fitness Watch Have owned Apple Watches which have fair fitness features. I tried the latest "Ultra" from them as well but returned it due to its height and minimal improvements. I also tried a Garmin Venu 2 Pro which I liked EXCEPT I COULDNT PAUSE WORKOUTS (Ex: water break) and could only set their auto-detect for this. I returned it as well and tried the Ultra which although a bit bigger/taller than I'd like, I really like this watch. I've learned to use its many features for my varied activities and it can genuinely help monitor ones progress. And you can pause most any activity you want.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Adventure/Sport Wearable I bought the Epix Gen 2 after having the Fenix 7X Solar for about a month. The features are pretty much identical. The Fenix 7X Solar battery life and flashlight features are far superior to the Epix. However the watch face colors and brightness when indoors on the Epix are pretty spectacular compared to the Fenix 7X Solar. With that said, the Fenix 7X Solar watch face is bigger and the screen is alot better in the daylight compared to Epix. Overall, the Fenix 7X Solar is a notch or two better than the Epix Gen 2. (Battery, screen size, flashlight, daytime screen visibility). BUT, if I’m indoors I prefer the Epix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great screen! Battery life is..Ok. I have a 7x sapphire solar, and while the long battery life was great, the screen visibility was less so. Especially using the map, the level of detail left something to be desired. The Epix is noticeably smaller and lighter. I don’t hit door jambs all the time like I did with the 7x. The screen is incredible, easy to see, even for my old guy eyes. The increase in map detail is very noticeable. If you engage in activities that are days long, the 7x is definitely the way to go. If charging once I week isn’t a big deal, i would encourage taking a hard look at the Epix. Like the 7x, the “feel” of the buttons has degraded since the 6x. You no longer get a positive tactile feel for a button push, which makes either watch feel to be lower quality. This might be the worst thing I can say about the Epix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect multisport watch! I love my Garmin Enduro. It is perfect for me - great battery life, all the sport activities and general features I can ask for. I use the watch for hiking, running, cycling, skiing, SUP stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, etc. The All Satellite Systems (GNS) and Multi-band GPS is extremely accurate - even under dense forest foliage, in the city streets between very tall buildings. I love the auto-select GPS feature which is helpful to both save battery life and get the best GPS setting for accuracy at the same time. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got used to fenix 5x I had fenix 5x and I always compare epix to my previous watch. I so wanted to set colored display , but now I need to charge watch more often, and I don’t like colors . I installs black/white watch face. Titanium body so easy to scratch , after few month it became used like after few years of wear. I bought it few month ago and now I try to sell it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very solid platform Garmin watches as a platform for focused measurement and analysis of a wide range of activities is impressive. The utility of the phone watch working together is very solid particularly the ability to do things on the phone that would be really inconvenient on the watch. The phone as the command center is good. Like loading faces (I prefer simple clean). The clarity of the high pixel count in the Epix screen is the reason to buy the Epix over other Garmin watches. Battery life is fine…recharges while I take a shower just fine. My “please fix” is the sleep data. I’ve had a Whoop for nearly two years so I can now compare scores for sleep breakout side by side and I don’t believe the Garmin numbers and have much higher confidence in Whoop’s sleep splits. Too bad. Can you work on this please?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of technology and data Data collection exceeds expectations, not giving 5 stars due hardware issues: First watch got a screen crack even though there was no hard impact and watch supposes to be tough on that. And the wristband degrades too fast, width too narrow for such a big and heavy watch, doesn't feel comfortable on my small wrist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced my Fenix 5x plus This watch replaced my Fenix, purchased it without being able to see it in person b/c no retail stores had it in stock. I’m 6’ 180lbs and I was worried about the 47mm casing and 22mm band seeming small after being acclimated to the 5xplus. This was not the case and I appreciate the lower profile of the Epix. In fact everything about this watch is better. I find it to be more user-friendly/intuitive, the body metrics seem to be more accurate, and the touchscreen helps tremendously on the mapping. The Epix also stays connected and works well with my iPhone, whereas the Fenix constantly had connectivity issues. I also find the battery life to be comparable to the 5X plus while in gesture mode. I’m an Apple user, and I considered waiting for the Apple Watch Ultra to come out before purchasing the Epix. I did not wait and I am so happy with my Epix that I did not care about the Ultra release from Apple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the Screen I love the Garmin Epix. I don’t like the price. I think this watch should be under $800. The multi-band gps and all systems gps outperforms my Garmin Fenix 6. This watch brought me back to Garmin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could Be Great But Needs Some Work… I previously owned a Fenix HR3 then had a Fenix 6. Ended up with an Apple Watch Series 6 for a year and really liked the OLED display and LTE connectivity, although the battery life and lack of detailed fitness information left much to be desired and I was ready to go back to Garmin. The Epix seemed to be the solution - Garmin software with a great screen and weeklong battery even with always on display. I really liked the watch. Display is really good, definitely some glare though with the sapphire lens (seems not to be an issue with the new domed MARQ) The biggest disappointment however was the bluetooth headphone connectivity. I was able to connect my airpods pro to the watch, but the connection quality was so poor when running or walking outside that it was useless. I tried another Epix and also another set of airpods. For a watch that is $1000 this needs to work. Apparently it is a known issue by Garmin as there is a webpage discussing this. Apple air pods work with galaxy watches and apple watches that are a fraction of the cost. I ended up taking the watch back and returned it. If it were $600 I’d probably keep it but with the bluetooth issue and the lack of LTE I decided to go with the Apple watch ultra and so far for me has been a vastly superior product. This could be a really good watch. Just seems like a poor deal for the price when I cant even connect headphones. Hopefully can be fixed by the next release.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect except for one thing I loved this watch, but since I was coming from the fenix 7X, I had a small problem. I had gotten so used to using the 7x flashlight, that I found the epix's poor excuse for a flashlight to be a deal-breaker for me. Once you use the 7x light, nothing else will ever satisfy! I returned the epix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade from fenix 6x, new screen and features wor I’ve had the fenix 5x and 6x. Lots of rough trail hiking in eastern sierras, so great to have gps maps on my wrist. I’m 52, so eyesight is not as good as it used to be, and I don’t bring reading glasses while peak bagging. The epix 2 fixes a lot of that, with brighter, easier to read screen. The shorter battery life is a bummer, but still acceptable. Great upgrade watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I ordered the epix™ Gen2! Happy customer. Was on the fence whether to get the Instinct Crossover Solar or the epix™ Steel. I love the hands, but lacking maps and touchscreen were the main issues against it. The epix™ also has a great display and can't wait until it gets even more pixels per inch and solar! The Crossover was also too industrial looking for my tastes, as well as the dark epix™ watches. I love the look of the stainless steel epix™ with the black case. I do wish I could disable all golfing features as I will never use them. Overall, the epix™ (Gen 2) is one of the best watches I have ever had, and the 16-day battery life is a real-world specification. Still learning all of the features.

Yet there are next to none how to videos to use all the functions. You do a great job of selling them and customer support. But little to no how to videos to use all the functions that these watches have.. as a business this makes no sense at all. Here is this great Smartwatch now figure it out on your own. Again as a business it would make more sense to teach the users all the functions. We would have more to brag about instead of talking about the frustrations. Come on now you have all those smart engineers building and making these fantastic watches. Put some smart people on explaining how to use them to the everyday user...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I've had an Epix for about a month---actually 2 of them. I use it regularly for gym workouts, running, and golf. Workout metrics and tracking are extremely useful and easily customized, GPS is fast and accurate, maps details are great, the display is clear and bright (even in direct sun), battery life is good / as expected, and it's a fantastic tool on the golf course. The Epix and the experience it delivers is a noticeable upgrade from my old Fenix, the only issue being touch functionality sometimes doesn't work on power up and the issue seems to be very repeatable. Garmin replaced the first Epix because of the issue with touch and I have the exact same issue with the replacement device; turning touch to "off" (it shows as "on") and back to "on" in system settings gets touch working. The watch has (more than) everything you need for working out, running, casual fitness tracking, etc. And the golf app is absolutely great. The only challenge I've found is touch on the display sometimes not working on power up---exactly the same issue on both Epix devices. It's almost perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best of the best I used to use a Polar.. then an Apple Watch...and for a serious athlete, the Garmin Epix is better on essentially every dimension. The software is better. The watch looks better. The OMLED screen is, indeed, stunning. The heart rate tracking is excellent. The sleep tracking is informative and easy to use. Put simply, I love this device and couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome display and battery life I have been wearing a Forerunner 945 for over three years and was very happy with it. The only thing that I was not happy with was the display. So I was looking for a watch with similar features but a better display. The epix (Gen 2) got my exactly that. I am very happy with the great display and on top a much better battery life. I could not be more happy this watch! Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent watch I have been using Garmin watch for years. A couple of Forerunner and one Fenix 3. The Epix Gen 2 is the best by far. Beautiful display. Watch offers 6 days of power how I use it. And it charges very quickly (almost complete charge during a shower). The features are great for training. The display is easy to read when running which was a complaint for the fenix watches. I would recommend this watch. It is a pricey watch but I think it is worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I wanted. Excellent product. My main considerations for the Epix were the mapping and navigation features. Versus the Fenix, I especially appreciate the brightness of the sceen, even in direct sunlight and the level of detail on the maps. While the battery life takes a hit compared to the Fenix, my use case doesn't require more than a day or two of battery life, and currently between mapping multi-hour mtb rides, general workouts, all-night Spo2, and always on display I'm still getting 5 days of battery. The only disappointment for me was that I didn't quite understand the need for external sensors to take advantage of some of the features. For example: I can get a VO2 Max for running, but this doesn't transfer to mtb without a power meter. Same for the stamina feature. Won't transfer to mtb without a power meter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Display I purchased the epix gen 2 for the Amoled display. The maps are of great detail for hiking. The battery life is great for a minimum of 5 days no matter how active you are, and will last the normal person a week. Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epix Gen 2 I have been using Garmin watches for a long time. Each time I purchase a new Garmin I always say this is the best fitness watch Garmin has made. Well the Epic Gen 2 falls in that category. I retired my Fenix 5 and purchased the Epic Gen 2. The screen is the most impressive. When I am running being able to see the watch screen is very important and with the new Amoled screen the brightness makes a quick glance at the screen easy to read. So as I say again not sure how Garmin can top the Epix Gen 2 but for now it is the best Garmin I have had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than my Fenix 6 Sapphire. With the execpetion of some new-fangled features that I have not yet used, the Epix performs just as good as my Fenix6Sapphire. The best (best!) feature is the AMOLED screen. I can now read the face of the watch regardless of watchface or activity page I am using. If AMOLED was the only difference, I would still opt for the AMOLED. One thing I am needing to get used to is the touch screen capability. Sometimes I forget and unwittingly change the screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Watch I have been using the Epix gen 2 for about 2 months now. I am a weekend warrior, mostly gym, cycling hiking and some light sports. I came over to Garmin after years of trying to stay on top of my metrics using android/google and other products. In my opinion, there is no comparison. The Epix is hands down, by far, the best fitness watch I have ever utilized. The amoled screen is, well..."Epic." I am aware that you can probably get more battery life from an mip but for my particular use, where I am seldom away from charging capabilities for 16 days, this serves my purpose extremely well. I now consider myself a loyal Garmin customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Watch Screen is nice, battery time is great, biometrics, and fitness app is awesome, but the case is a little too thick for my liking, it’s constantly getting caught on my shirt cuffs because of the 15mm thickness, and it’s a little too heavy for my liking, I find it uncomfortable to wear at times and hard to forget it’s on my wrist. Not very comfortable to sleep with two tracks sleeping, Overall it’s a decent watch but I can’t really justify the price tag to be honest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great combination of an outdoors and a city watch I have these watches for several weeks and would say- they are great for outdoors especially with track back feature. They look great, battery lasts for week or two depending on always on/ off feature, bright enough for sunny days. Looks great on a wrist and different bands can suit any of your moods and occasions. When talking about long trips and outdoors- I would consider Epix as the best choice with better details on the map and long-lasting battery. You can chose Fenix for longer battery life, but you'll compromise on brightness. It's size is just perfect for me. Very lightweight and doesn't irritate your skin. Pairs easily with my iPhone 13 Pro and does have on-screen notifications. However, I can't totally change my other smart watch with it for urban usage even though Epic looks much more masculine and attractive. For me there are some features I like more on other smart watch, like automatic detection of an activity, while I've been skiing for hours and Epix haven't recognize any activity. That was disappointing. And if you're used to other smart watch, remember that you have to first chose your activity on Epix and then start it, which is strange: if I chose activity I definitely plan to do it right away. The second thing is sleeping analyses: it doesn't detect your sleeping... even if you turn it on during a daytime or after your night mode is off in the morning. If not these two, I would definitely give Epix 5 stars. I would definitely recommend them to a friend or whoever wants to combine a city and outdoors watch in one gadget. And Epix doesn't look like gadget, which I also like. All in all its a fantastic watch and the right choice for an active person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Epix is Fun I didn't need this electronic device, however I don't regret the purchase. It has a lot of features built into a miniature device. First and foremost the GPS will lay a track better than 4 handheld GPS's I currently own (e.g., under a forested canopy). I make my own maps and a have been able to update most of the map tracks to my local mountain bike trails. I have these custom maps uploaded to the Epix. The heart rate monitor seems accurate and will work for hiking/walking, but get yourself a chest strap for other activities. Sleep tracking is good. Battery life is not an issue, and the device charges fast! Size and weight of watch is fine and not intrusive. While setting navigation to a projected waypoint or using the map is a bit awkward, it works well and can be used (and set) during an activity (think kayaking in a fog bank). Compass seems very accurate and is calibrated at the factory. The multiple watch faves are attractive and easy to read and can contain 7 (or more?) fields of information. Problems... Using a earbuds (Bluetooth) and a chest strap heart rate monitor will cause the heart rate monitor to disconnect frequently. However, this is the only issue I've had. Overall, very satisfied with this device after a month of use and recording 20 activities.

Yes this has a sapphire display and a titanium face, and yes the battery life is better than then Venu 2, but it feels excessive. I do really appreciate having 5 buttons on the watch, though - especially since you can assign shortcuts to then when long-pressed.
