Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Screen-lacks updates I have Drive Smart 55 and several other Garmin products I love. I wanted a bigger screen so I bought the 76. I love the size but I am not pleased with the information provided by the GPS. My 55 has more correct information as far as speed limit shown. Garmin is lacking on updating the maps. I live off a road that has been paved for 10+ years. The Garmin says its an unpaved road. My son lives on a street that doesn't even show up on the map. It's been there 5+ years. Fastest route is not always the fastest. On a 1 hour trip I saved 12 minutes taking a different route. That’s a lot in my opinion. I do all the updates so that’s not the issue. I guess most people are using their phones for guidance and Garmin is not putting the GPS updates as a priority. Everything considered I can live with it but it would be nice to have a brand new unit be accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DriveSmart76 Bought the "76" as a replacement for an old GPS. Thought it would be larger than a DriveSmart 65 that I have in a different vehicle. Seems both the "65" and "76" are the same size. Happy with the features, but have trouble with both the GPS staying mounted on the windshield. Think both are too heavy for the supplied mounts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed Been using it for a month or so,and found out it takes me on an out of the way route On 4 separate drives, it directed me to drive 4-5 miles out of the way. These were locations I was familiar with and just wanted to check the device I have checked the settings and it matches my older Garmin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good device for good price. This GPS is awsome. I’ve got 2 older Garmin GPS devices but this one is much better. I love it and I recommend everyone who need GPS for reasonable price. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was after! I didn't buy the GPS when I bought our Honda Pilot as was expensive so have been using my phone for navigation. The Garmin 76 makes things so much easier. I bought a large truck pad that sits on the dashboard with an extended arm mount and have the Garmin 76 positioned just above the screen from the vehicle. The size works great and it is easy to see. You can be a little overwhelmed when setting it up as the devise will do a lot, but if you are patient and work though the steps you will get it to work with your phone, and get the features you want turned on. I had to call Garmin support twice and they were great. It makes things much easier not to have to connect your phone every time you get in the car. The Garmin 76 is always there and has simplified the navigation process. Works great, looks great, and would highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised with the features. Going from a Dezl 560 to the DS 76. There is a big difference in them. Which I like. I like the new features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Somewhat Disappointed I preferred the Garmin Smart Link’s ability to send desired destination to my Garmin NuviCam and 3957 devices from my iPhones Contact List . The DriveSmart iPhone app has no such ability. I’d prefer to not have to re-enter (I.e., duplicate) destination info directly into the DriveSmart76 device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unless "Shortest Route" is not a "Straight Line" This Garmin Drivesmart 76 and 66 EX are still quite User Unfriendly. I have using this 76 for several months as well as the 66EX for couple of years, mainly for the guidance on the 57-91-22-5-57 Freeways of Orange County to Irvine, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa. But I was often messed up by the confusing guidance especially along the 91 and 22, and missed or mistakenly overshot the exit ramps many times. Sometimes, the voice asked me to drive on the HOV lane, but the red driving routes shown on the screen were not on the HOV lane but next 3 lanes. The voice guidance often seemed to tell me to get out of the HOV lane abruptly, then turned out to be not so. There were so many times that the Red Forbidden Zone Warning abruptly appeared that would freeze the map unless I tapped it back to the destinations again. But the most annoying, ridiculous and absolutely useless thing of the Drivesmart models is the permanent loss of "The Shortest Route" function that has been replaced with a completely bizarre "Straight Line" crap! The "Shortest Route" before on the Nuvi series is so useful when I decided not to keep driving on the obvious coming up jammed freeways ahead and allowed me to get off at the nearest next exit by going through the surface streets to bypass the jammed freeways instead. Now, on this newer Drivesmart series only provides us with a clueless "STRAIGHT LINE!" Hey, Garmin, I am NOT FLYING AN AIRCRAFT, I'm driving on the ground, providing me with a Straight Line from my start point to my destination is nothing but a practical joke! There's no way I could drive a straight line to my destination through the surface streets; even an airplane cannot! I strongly request that you should correct this crazy absurdity in your future updates, no matter what. Just because of your ridiculous change on the Drivesmart series, I have to put another Nuvi 1490 to have the "Shortest Route" choice ready for use, just in case I need to divert my routes off the freeways immediately. But installed two Garmin GPS navigators on the dashboard simply look weirdly stupid. All the passengers sitting in my car, even they never openly wondered, but I knew they all considered me as a weird dimwit moron!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor routing options Took us thru the heart of a major city instead of using bypass. Added 1 1/2 hours to a long enough trip. I can tell a new bunch of less than impressive people were involved in this sorry thing. You better keep them out of your aviation business.
