Rated 1 out of 5 by from I had firewalls from Secure Computing (later McaFee) for a long time. As a matter of fact I had two. The firewalls were stable as anything. During the nine years or so that I had they never failed me and when I needed tech support I spoke to a tech that spoke English as a first language and knew the product. Last time it was time to renew I went with a Fortinet 200D here at my main location and a 30D at my remote location. These firewalls have been nothing but problems. I was told that the 30D was not really made for a business environment (then why sell it to me?). And a business environment? I have four computers and two IP phones at my remote location. If it cannot handle that what can it handle? People have more systems in their homes than I have there. My first 200D crashed on a constant basis. I had to speak to I do not know how many techs (that I could not understand one word they were saying) and fight with them to get them to replace it. When I finally got the new unit in it ran for 25 days (I thought I was over and done with the unit crashing. No this unit now has crashed and as I write this I am on hold for a half hour waiting for a tech that I will not be able to understand.BEWARE DO NOT PURCHASE A FORTINET PRODUCT

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've been running fortigates here for the past 10 years. Great product that keeps getting better with the latest OS versions. I'm currently running 2 x 100D's in an HA pair and it's been a great upgrade for us. Also have a 100C and 80C at other sites that never give us issues.I rarely restart them and even then only for updates / major changes requiring a reboot. They run solid imo. I have had a few calls with support and all have been good with the exception of one of those calls.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complicated OS which requires a lot to learn. Support & documentation was very poor. Thankfully we upgraded to a Untangle appliance which is by far a better device.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ok, we have a 100d installed, and it seems to be doing an ok job.but i have to say, the support available from Fortinet, is hands down, the worst I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing.Logging a call with customer support? you might get a reply after 2 days, but there is a high chance you wont.when I did get a reply, to which I replied to, i got 3 conflicting suggestions on what to do next. no one at the support end of things, seems to have even a basic understanding of the product.and the issue is still unresolved.the documentation and videos are, in my opinion, very poorly crafted. Also, the interface is all over the place. When it comes to replacing the firewall, i will be pushing hard on getting rid of fortigate.(one star is the lowest rating i can give it, but if i could have giving it 0 out of 5, i would have)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fortigates are great products. They have great gui interfaces that are easy to manage and have many other features like web filtering and an IPS. Support is really helpful as well, if you have any questions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from we used the Enterprise class Fortigate hardware and it was great the UTM worked well from day one and it allowed us to add policies that were around all of our other content filtering that still allowed us to keep the users from going to malicious places.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not been happy dealing with these. I would generally avoid Fortigate. The support has not been very good in our experience.
