Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting…Pretty nice printer…When printing from Adobe InDesign using "Let InDesign Manage Colors," the printer's colors are spot on; but, the prints are quite a bit darker than what I see on screen and what I get back from the commercial printer.I have much better luck when printing from Phase One's Capture and choosing "Printer Manages Color". I then choose my paper type and switch from Epson RGB to Adobe RGB. Then it is a pretty good match.Gloss optimizer is nice, though it won't quite bring a print on Photo Paper up to the shine of a print on Ultra Premium Photo Paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy Epson accessories for best resultsWhen I picked this up at Walmart, I also bought some HP premium photo paper because the store didn't carry Epson photo paper. I wasn't too thrilled with the result. The next day I received Epson paper I had ordered when I ordered the printer. There was a big difference in the print quality. Use Epson paper. Also, I ran out of ink the first night on two ink cartridges. Make sure you order extra ink cartridges to keep on hand. I'm not sure if the cartridges that came with it were the full 14ml that you get when you buy replacement. I may write up a follow up review later after I have used it more, but I think this is going to be a pretty darn good printer. PS - Bus some Epson metallic paper. The print I made was fantastic looking!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stay awayI have used Epson wide-format printers since 2004, starting with an R 1800 and finishing with an R 1900. The 1900 in particular was a great printer. So, I anticipated using its replacement, the Sure Color P400 to get similar results.Wrong.I bought the first P400 on December 18, 2017, but by February 8, 2018, the paper transport system had failed. Epson sent a replacement, a refurbished unit (which really irritated me), but didn't tape the box well and the printer fell out, breaking off the paper support and losing all the ancillary contents including the shipping label for returning the dead P400. Epson finally agreed to send me a NEW unit, though their next day air promise wasn't kept. The third P400 is now operational, but it still has the same flaws the first had when it was working: using essentially the same settings I used for the R1900, the prints come out muddy and poorly defined, the colors are over saturated, and the ink cartridges empty at an alarming rate. The cyan cartridge will do four 12 x 18 prints of ocean beaches, and then it's empty. As a retired photography teacher, I can't afford to print much, given the P400's thirst. If I could buy a new R1900, I would in a heartbeat. But, recommend the P400, I cannot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact & Good ValueAppreciate the smaller form factor of this, takes less office space. Haven't done intense coverage printing yet but am pleased with the quality and speed of the output in initial tests. However I do miss the convenience of the paper tray and the larger ink cartridges that were on the Stylus Color 3000. As a graphics professional, I'm sorry that this did not come with Postscript RIP capabilities for proofing, but it still seems to provide reasonably accurate prints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good when it worksI bought this printer about 2 years ago. It has very nice print quality when it works. I have nothing but trouble with this printer. Sometimes it prints and sometimes it tells me I am out of paper when I am not. I have to turn it off and restart my computer to clear out the message so it will work. Sometimes I can't get it to work for a couple of days. It doesn't always feed the paper correctly. Right now it isn't working again because of the paper feed. This is unacceptable as I use this printer for printing miniature wallpaper and rugs for my online business and must have a reliable printer. This printer is not reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly goodImage quality is beautiful, and the printer operation is smooth. I have two issues: it could not be set up for wireless printing; the gloss optimizer cartridge runs out very quickly, before any of the other inks need to be replaced, and when this happens, it will not print. I called the Epson support about the gloss optimizer; they mailed me an additional cartridge at no charge, which was very nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SureColor P400 Wide Format Inkjet PrinterHighly recommend if you like to print pictures. The different paper textures based on the type of picture really helps me to decorate my home with my own photo's and create gifts for others. So much better than the 6 color printers. Also prints larger than the standard 8 x 10 or 8 x 11.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like my older one better.I am having troble with this printer. Gave up a 1900 for this one and I don't like the problems. Also have a 2200 which I use in Colorado. As old as it ias it still prints well. I have been trying to print some 5x7 and the ink is smearing all over. This printer is new!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth the priceUseless for color prints. All images print with bold stripes across print and usually convert to monochrome. Downloaded drivers and no improvement. Automatic driver update routine tries to run several times a day. Run various image improvement routines and nothing changes. B/W and text are good.
