With the ability to scan, restore and archive an extensive range of films and prints at fast speeds, Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner has low power consumption for maximum efficiency and no warm-up time for instant scanning. With 6400dpi optical resolution and 3.4DMAX optical density for film scanning, the Epson Perfection V600 Photo creates high-quality images, meeting the photo and film reproduction needs of photographers.

The Epson Perfection V600 Photo features a built-in Transparency Unit (TPU) that supports full panoramic medium format film. Users have the ability to create digital archives from photos, filmstrips, mounted slides and medium format full panoramic film, making it ideal for preserving important memories and images, as well as photographic reproduction for printing.

Energy Star compliant, Epson's innovative ReadyScan LED technology minimizes power consumption. With the added benefit of no warm-up time, scanning can start as soon as the power is turned on and the scanning of reflective targets is 1.5 times faster than previous models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Hardware, Weak SoftwareI am in the process of digitizing hundreds of photos from albums, and thousands of 35 millimeter slides. The quality of the resulting images, and the ability to choose the appropriate resolution have been wonderful. My previous slide scanner passed a lamp below the slide, projecting the slide image onto the sensor array. This left shadow artifacts that blurred across the final image. The V600 scanner moves both the light source and and sensor simultaneously above and below the slide, virtually eliminating the artifacts, and producing a much sharper image. Technical support when I started out was also excellent. The glaring weakness of the V600 is the accompanying software. I am using a Macintosh desktop with a 2019 OS. My main gripe is that, when I am scanning a set of four slides at a time (the maximum), I must be present to jiggle the mouse repeatedly to make the software advance to the next step or next slide. It effectively demands your whole attention. The software is also 32-bit, and I am using the last Mac OS that will run 32-bit software.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scanner and easy to useI have had it for a month and love it. It is simple to use but it is far from a basic scanner. It has corrective features for my old 35 mm slides which I did not think I needed. The preview scan allows for Backlight and Color correction with ease. Many of my photos could use both. After scanning the Auto Enhance feature, auto Rotation, andmore are simple to see the Before and After to let you choose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good scanner, obsolete softwareIf you are a Mac user, do NOT buy this scanner. The scanner software is all 32 bit code. Mac next OS (launching in Q3 2019 and public beta available today) will only run 64 bit software. A search of the Epson website shows no commitment to update the software. Caveat emptor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellentI had an HP scanner for nearly 20 years. It recently died. I bought the V600 and have scanned over 2100 pictures already. I am very satisfied with it. I haven't figured out as yet how to scan a legal size document. Other wise, I am enjoying my Epson scanner. I am retired and have over 15,000 pictures on my computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Quality Scans and Software Than I ExpectedI had an older flatbed scanner and bought a 35mm scanner, but neither would do the quality I wanted. So I bought this scanner to do old family slides. I was amazed at the quality of 35mm scans. And the auto color correction software did an excellent job. Especially on old Kodachrome slides. Some from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. I'm a retired professional color corrector and drum scanner operator and not easily impressed. This scanner will do a better job than most people need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson V600 ExperienceExcellent piece of equipment. Most negative scans to jpg files are successful. Only a few are out of focus or too dark but I blame that mainly on the original negatives' quality. Saves me a lot of $$ since I don't first need to have the negatives professionally printed. I prefer jpgs anyway. The "out of the box" negative holders should have included a 127 type. Otherwise, I'm happy with what was provided.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surpassed my expectations!I had hundreds of pictures, 35mm, and medium format slides and negatives to scan, and needed a scanner that could do a professional job. I was concerned that the V600 would not be able to give me the final output I needed, and would need to get Epson’s model V800 or V850 to get the results I required. But being on a tight budget I couldn’t afford to step up to that level, so I bit the bullet and got the V600. The quality of the finished images are amazing, and I’m so glad I purchased this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Old Pictures!!I've had this Epson V600 Photo Scanner for awhile now. It scanned some of my old pictures and it is great! You can put in several pictures on the scanning area and it will select each picture to scan separately. It is a must have if you have old photos that you need or want to digitize.
