700VA/350W/120V Battery Backup for PCs, Home Theater or Digital Signage

The line-interactive AVR700U UPS system with AVR protection provides reliable battery backup and AC power protection against blackouts, brownouts, overvoltages, surges and line noise that can damage valuable electronics or destroy data. The eight-outlet 120V battery backup is ideal protection for your home office, media center or commerce components, including computers, routers, printers, HDTVs, Blu-ray players, game consoles, ATMs, security systems and digital signage equipment.

Allows Time to Back Up Critical Files During a Blackout

Backup support allows you to work through short power failures and gives you enough time to safely save files and shut down your system in case of a prolonged blackout. Backup time varies according to load, but the line-interactive UPS system should keep an energy-efficient desktop computer with small LCD monitor powered as long as 43 minutes. During normal operation, incoming utility power keeps the replaceable internal battery fully charged, so backup power will always be available.

8 NEMA 5-15R Outlets Protect Your Connected Components

Four 5-15R outlets provide battery backup, surge protection and voltage regulation for your computer, monitor and other crucial components. The other four 5-15R outlets provide surge suppression only for printers, speakers and other desktop equipment regarded as non-essential during a blackout. A high >95% line mode efficiency rating reduces BTU emissions, energy consumption and, ultimately, your energy costs.

Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) Corrects Low- and High-Voltage Conditions

AVR protects your equipment from incremental hardware damage, data loss and performance problems caused by brownouts and overvoltages. The AVR700U can correct brownouts as low as 89V and overvoltages as high as 145V back to nominal 120V power continuously, all while keeping the battery fully charged and ready to take over in case of power failure.

Combats Electromagnetic Interference That Can Harm Equipment

Various electromagnetic and radio sources found in virtually every home and business can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. This USB port connects the AVR700U to a computer running free downloadable PowerAlert software to enable safe unattended file saves and system shutdown in case of a prolonged power failure. USB cable is included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, bigger than expected and initially had an odor So far I haven't had to test it, but it feels like the usual good quality that Tripp Lite delivers. It is quite a bit bigger than I had expected, but that's ok as it's under a desk. After I turned it on for a couple of days, it smelled like ozone, but the smell did disappear after a few days. One more thing of note it that it is warm to the touch. And I bought two of them -- they both did everything I mentioned.

Only problem is software feels like it was written in the late 80s early 90s. Win10 power management is better than software. Poweralert local needs to have 2 windows being run, a command dialogue and the program itself. On top of this it takes a long time to load and can't be minimized to task bar. Would be nice if they put a bit of effort into this so you could log events like power dips, but not have it command all your attention.

Unlike more basic (but sometimes more expensive) UPS units, this model provides automatic voltage regulation that responds to brownouts or over-voltage conditions. 8 outlets provide flexible connection options, including 2 wide spaced outlets. UPS power management natively connects to Windows10, allowing Windows OS to control PC shutdown based on battery status - my desktop's power management now acts like a laptop which is great.

I like the fact that replacement batteries are readily available and easy to install for when the time comes to renew the battery and it also comes with voltage regulation (AVR) However, my unit did not come with a flat plug on the 110v power supply so I am wondering if perhaps I was sold an older unit. Also, I would have liked it better if the outlets were spaced farther apart as the 4 items I have plugged in are all transformer type plugs and take up a lot of room. I wall mounted my AVR700U and other than these minor issues mentioned it works as its suppose to. I would recommend to anyone looking for a UPS.

I use this device in Florida to protect my important electronics from lightening strikes, Frequent electrical storms with power dips and surges occur here in Central Florida due to these pop up storms. With both surge protection and battery backup protection I fear these storms less.

They appear to be separate piece parts rather than directly molded into the case as before. There is no longer a user-initiated battery self-test. I assume it continuously monitors the battery charge and will report a failure when the time comes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beware of the off-gassing I just put this unit into service 4 days ago - and I have to have the window to my office open or else I go home with headaches and eye pain. The off-gassing that this thing does is a health hazard. I'm going to have to get it swapped out for something else. I was thinking if I just let it sit and run that maybe it'd get better - but the smell and the physical effects have not abated. Bad purchase. Would not recommend.

The entire side where the transformer and electronics are was badly warped, and the unit smelled like melted electronics. Amazon sent a replacement that looked OK, but once plugged in it got very warm, over 100ºF and gave off a very "electronic" odor. Tripp-Lite support sent me a third unit that seems fine and is now working as a backup to my router.

I find them reliable; I find them attractively priced; I've liked my interaction with the company. I've used competing products, and always seem to come back to Tripp-lite. This latest battery backup box is to make sure my oxy concentrator stays on when National Grid plays with the local power; I like breathing, and this will take care of short outages quite handily.

Our power company delivers rather poor voltage regulation and we have lost a number of computers and video equipment over the years until We started with these AVR units. Years since a failure. I like being able to change the batteries out with the Tripplites.

While we haven't used it very long, there was a really bad smell coming from the unit, even before it was connected to the wall outlet. When first connected, the unit was left overnight to double check everything. The smell was even more pronounced the next morning and hasn't totally disappeared. The five stars are for the excellent customer service, when I called about this issue. The technical representative asked several questions and then said that he would be sending a replacement unit. I should be receiving the new unit, soon and am hoping that the replacement will not have the same odor as the first one I purchased. Thanks, Tripp-Lite!

As it is widely known power outages are frequent in PR, and frankly got tired ok loosing information while working at home from my computer. Problem solved. Installed this unit, now i work confidently with no interruption. Thank you Tripp-Lite for making my work more efficient.
