Rated 5 out of 5 by from A piece of garbage I liked it at first. But suddenly it started malfunctioning. It will print a label and then feed out 10 blank labels after that, and then you have to roll up the labels again so you don’t waste them. It also prints half labels, and constantly says its out of paper when it’s not. This thing is an absolute piece of garbage and I’m replacing it with a NON Dymo brand.

This label writer has COST US OVER $20,000 IN WASTED TIME. I recommend meeting god or licking a alligators tongue over buying this printer. It is absolute garbage, I cannot fathom this product is being sold in the modern era.

When it works its great, but when it doesn't its so frustrating and pointless. Its constantly disconnecting from my MAC and needs so much attention. No other printer has given me this much strife before. If you're on the fence of getting this printer... DONT! Save yourself the time and gray hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great concept, Poor quality The concept of the label printer is great. However, the machine working is hit or miss. More miss than hits. It spits out labels unnecessarily. Wasting supplies. It works sometimes, most times not. You waste more time troubleshooting, uninstalling, reinstalling software, restarting computer. It is just not worth it. Some major fixes are needed on Dymo’s end. The concept of the machine is great. Would be even better if the machine lived up to its specifications.

I just purchased both just for shipping labels & now i either have to get a different printer or a different laptop!! Highly upset!!! It comes with a USB cord!!!! Why isnt it compatible with ANYTHING!!!!

Like many other have said when it works it's great... but when it doesn't it's a real time waster trying to figure out the issue. No one troubleshooting approach works. And as time goes on, it seems like there are more and more of the same issues (disconnects, doesn't read paper, prints blank paper, etc etc). Not worth it considering it's rather expensive

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time Waster We have had a Dymo LabelWriter 4XL for a couple of years and when it works, it's great. But anytime it decides to disconnect, to go offline, or to waste label after label, you can literally do nothing about it. Like many of the reviews on here, you waste so much time trying to uninstall, then install the software, and then boom still nothing works so you do it again and again, and just hope something works and hopefully 2 hours later you've fixed it. Our company has wasted so many hours trying to get it to connect and work that we're about ready to smash it to pieces since nothing that Dymo tells you to do works, you're literally just hoping that THIS time following the directions works. We're not incapable people, we follow the directions and know how to trouble shoot stuff, it's just not a good product. We'll be replacing this printer with a non-dymo printer as soon as we can.

I've used label printers before and its important to feed the labels correctly and line up the directions. If you download the drivers first which the instructions say you should have no issues with connecting the device. I was surprised to see a lot of negative reviews then read some and it appears to be mostly user based sorry guys.

It has made running a home based business more convenient and easy. Before I would send my labels to my laser printer, cut them out of the paper, and paste them or tape them to the package I was mailing. This looked very unprofessional for a company, plus it took a lot of time that could have been spent on other business projects. I would recommend this to anyone who uses labels, whether mailing or otherwise. I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific printer! The ONLY reason I'm writing this review is to try to counteract all the negative [and, I suspect, often user-error caused] reviews. I've had this printer for years, I use it to print all sorts of shipping (and other types of) labels including labels for UPS, USPS & FedEx packages. On a very, very rare occasions it will not be seen by the Mac and will have to be 'rebooted' but, overall, it's been problem-free and is a great addition to my printer family. But, you do have to know what you're doing and must be creative about how to use it, you cannot expect that it will 'just work' with third party apps. As another reviewer noted, "You can screenshot the label, save it as a jpg or png file, and that will print just fine". Exactly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing way to print labels Ebay/Paypal Shipping I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own. I got this a week ago and it is amazing. I had No problem setting it up because it is very very easy to install. Amazing clear labels produced. Saves on ink since it's thermal. And it's fast. It works perfectly as a label printer on Paypal/Ebay. It has saved me a ton of time and money. I use it to print all shipping labels, UPS, USPS, First Class International. I am very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHEN it works it good, but it stops working It never fails. Half way through the roll the printer starts forwarding 4 to 5 labels at a time. It's not a dirty sensor it's just bad software. Don't even bother with customer service--their basic answer was "well it's known to do that. It is a common problem." I use a MACBOOK Pro running Yosemite 10.10.5 If you buy a new printer it will work fine until the roll gets halfway used. I hate this printer. Plus, the labels are way overpriced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great With Etsy I have been using this printer for Etsy shipping labels pretty trouble-free for over a year now after thousands of orders on both a Mac and a PC. Just make sure you set up the proper template in your Etsy settings. People having issues with USPS, FedEx, or whatever? This machine isn't designed to run off those platforms natively. USPS and FedEx would have to make their templates to suit this machine, or any other for that matter, and they won't do that because if they did it for one, they would have to do it for all. So, labels straight from their websites are formatted to print on a standard sheet of paper. You can screenshot the label, save it as a jpg or png file, and that will print just fine.

I was selected by Smiley360 to try and review this for free and I have been able to do so many things with it. I organized my daughters toys, organized all the binders on my desk and book case, I labeled storage boxes in the basement, printed labels for large envelopes, even printed labels for my shoes. The software is simple to use, it has step by step instructions. There several layouts to choose from. Lots of clipart to choose from, even has the clipart in categories. Installing labels is really easy, it has a diagram under the lid. It is fairly quiet, and prints very quickly. It has a large variety of labels. You can print postage, you only have to pay a one time fee of $49.95 which pretty much covers the postage software and you get 2 free rolls of DYMO Stamp labels. The only thing I don't like, there is no on/off switch, so unless you unplug it every night it stays on all the time.n

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wastes a lot of labels When it decides to work it is perfect but it does waste/skips a lot of labels and i cant get it to print on 1(1/4)x2(1/4) labels. i am having such a hard time and now that i finally figured out how to make the barcode fit, it skips 10 labels in between each print.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waste of money! Bought this to use in my boutique a year ago. While it is amazing when it is working, it is more of a fight to get it to function properly. My regular printer would be way quicker than this. The labels are really high and every time I go to ship 10-15 packages anywhere from 6-15 labels get wasted. I spend more time resetting it than anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't Work, Very Disappointing I just bought this 4XL label printer and I had high hopes. I followed the direction and set out to print a test label. The first time I tried I got it to print but it kept feeding labels, so I had one test label and 4 blanks. I rebooted and tried again and now every time I try to print it says that it is out of paper, but this clearly isn't the case. I have not been able to find a solution and am considering returning it to Quill and buying a different brand. After seeing these reviews I am regretting the initial purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from yea....get your drivers dealt with dymo Focused on the product huh? These have to be approved before they are allowed to be posted...yea thats got sketch written all over it. Your product is on amazon as well, this printer is absolute junk, not sure how many times ive had to install the same drivers over and over to have the machine not recognize it each time after a few prints. I'll be posting this on other consumer sites as well. and as for your "Available drivers/software downloads" I would say its the same stuff in a different package with the same problems (drivers flop on windows 10).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition to my business! This has simplified and streamlined my business. I print about 20 labels a day and went through labels, ink like crazy. This is going to save me so much money. It was a great investment. I followed the instructions carefully and from the second I printed my first label, I was so happy that it worked perfectly. I use a Mac and ship from Etsy and the transition was painless. It is quiet, it is small, it is fast. I highly recommend this label printer.

Ranging from a constantly blinking blue indicator light to "ghost" printing (and ruining) multiple reams of labels, I am beyond frustrated. DO NOT RELY UPON THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THIS PRINTER FOR AN EFFICIENT WORKFLOW. Lastly, the outdated software obliterates any goals of achieving a seamlessly integrated packaging process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does NOT integrate with Quickbooks 2015! They tell you all over the website it integrates with Quickbooks. What they don't tell you is it doesn't work with 2015. Now i'm stuck with a $250 boat anchor till they decide to make the add on for QB2015. AT LEAST TELL US IT DOESN'T WORK WITH THIS VERSION!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Little Workhorse I'm writing this review because I suspect that some of the negative reviews are user errors. It took a little bit to get this little guy set up to work with UPS Worldship and our other shipping programs but it worked fantastic while we used it all the time. We ship a LOT of items during the week and this thing kept up. Only had a few little issues here and there, but in the 4 years that we used it, it was amazing. In fact we still have it. The reason that we no longer use this is because we combined shipping software and ended up getting a printer that we could use the free supplies from UPS. A little more cost effective. But, you CAN use generic labels in this printer. The brand ones are silly expensive compared to the "brand" ones and work just as good. (Added that to counteract the reviews about the cost of the labels). I still have it and we will be using it now to print our barcodes since we just integrated an inventory system into our business complete with barcodes. That is how much I liked the product... I kept it rather than selling it or trashing it. It will come in handy and save money! If you have problems with yours, I suggest getting some help with it. Ours never jammed. Never needed anything but some light maintenance once a year (and it never demanded it, we just do it because that is what we do)! Great little machine. Fast enough also.

And its frustrating because i have to restart the printer around 3 times to work normal. This is an every day issue. I have the latest driver and its still presents this issue.

This is so easy to use you install the program it comes with and it is so easy to print any kind of labels for shipping purposes i would reccomend this if you mail out alot of packages or letters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall, just a frustrating experience I've performed all of the troubleshooting Dymo recommends. Others also report that it prints extra blank labels. This is due to the paper not being all the way to the left. But there is no guide for the labels, so if it is slightly misaligned then the paper will move to the right! That's simply a design flaw. We've wasted tons of postage with Stamps.com because the printer errors so often. I've rebooted. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I downloaded the driver direct from Dymo. Nothing helps! A rating of 3 stars is pretty low if that tells you something. The reviews on Amazon aren't much better. Look into their competitors, Dymo isn't the only thermo printers!

I spent about 4 hours working with the printer to try to print ONE label successfully, only to spend several hours and much frustration doing the very thing everyone else complains about. I print a label, and it spits out 5-6 labels afterwards. I read lots of forums, I saw all the answers, and I am just not giving this machine any more of my time. I am really amazed that a product that has so many problems can still be sold. But, I guess a lot of people are like me, hopeful that it would work *for me*. Nope. Save yourself the frustration.

I called tech support at Dymo and was on hold for as long as I care to wait after spend $250+ on a machine that breaks in the first few weeks of using it. I returned it. Great software. Just wish the machine could have lasted longer.

Have used the printer for about 2 months, gone through 6 rolls of paper and maybe a dozen or so successful prints. Have to shut it off between prints. Now all it does is flash blue and will not print or connect. Absolute garbage

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with eBay postage!! I bought this label writer about a year ago. It worked perfectly until eBay changed their postage purchasing page. I have contacted eBay seversl times for assistance and their response is the same, they NO LONGER PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THE DYMO 4XL. EBay does provide support for about 4 other DYMO models but not the 4XL I have apparently wasted my money on this model to use with eBay. I even escalated my complaint to a manager with eBay and they provided the same excuse. I realise this is not DYMOs fault, but if you are looking to buy a 4XL for use with eBay postage, you might want to call eBay first and see if they have decided to provide support first.

Keep feeding it good quality labels and it just keeps working. We have run over 40,000 shipping labels through the machine. We're buying another one now for a second location.

I can find a lot better ways to waste my money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ugh - so frustrating! This label printer has been a constant thorn in my side - my Windows desktop simply does not recognize the printer. After uninstalling and reinstalling the "Dymo Connect" software, which appears to be the only source of a print driver, it still does not work - I'm tapping out, and going with another brand for a thermal label printer. Never again, Dymo.

Now I notice that it will advance the labels to a half label after each print. Then at times it will print multiple labels with the same address and advance the labels two labels at a time. Now I'm wasting more labels then I'm using.

It comes with hardly any labels and I used the entire roll trying to figure out how to do it! Honestly not worth the money I spent on this

However, they stop working every few months and it takes days to get them back up. Right now, it's back down and it is seriously messing up my work flow. I unfortunately may have to buy another brand. I have uninstalled and reinstalled five times and it still won't read the device.

Yes, I've made sure it's loaded properly, yes it's all the way to the left. This started happening when I got through 75% of my first roll of labels. Now I guess I have to buy the cleaning cards (which should come with the machine in my opinion to see if that helps.

This thing is wasting the only roll of paper i bought and the paper isn't that cheap. I need to work and i can't with this printer, that cost a ton of money and doesn't do the job. Disappointing at max.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Major software issues I have had this for over a year. It works on a standard USPS label on EBay and Amazon. It has problems with a Paypal printing any shipper, Fedex most of the times does not wok so I have to use a laser printer but if I change printers and revert back to the 4XL it changed my settings. I called CS and they blame Ebay, Amazon and Paypal, SORRY but it is your software that is the issue, How can you blame them if a standard printer works perfect. Get you Coders to come up with better software, That is what the problem is, No I would not recommend this unless they upgrade the software, But I will say if it worked all the time then I would love it but for now I feel it is not worth a quarter of the price, IMO it is worth $39 not $300

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Been Using Over a Year and Works Great I've been using this for a year now and haven't had any issues with it. It's been a great label printer. A couple of times it's spit out several extra blank labels but I just rebooted by computer and all was fine. Also I can print UPS labels as well without any issues. They do come out smaller but haven't had any issues with UPS not being able to scan them. Also a couple of times I just took a screen shoot of the UPS label and printed it as an image full size 4x6 label and works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a Life Saver! So far, I've only used this for my sisters wedding and for the products I've sent out that I've sold over eBay. The prints have been amazing, clear and consistent. Not once has the labels been messy or not legible. I've not ran out of ink yet or labels. And the actual DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Turbo label maker prints the labels so fast. Also by what I've researched the prices seem to be very competitive against the other label makers I've looked at. I'm so glad I received this for free for my honest review, it's become so useful.

Constant printer errors, then just started printing 1.5, 2.5 or even 3.5 labels after every postage label I managed to get printed. If we disconnected from the laptop and then reconnect, would have to reboot, reconfigure. Printer is a total time waster!!! Had for 30 days and just returned to Sams for a refund.

It constantly malfunctions and doesnt perform as needed. I often times just try printing a single label and the machine will shoot out 5.5 extra labels, for no reason. I have followed every recommendation by the company including rebooting, redownloading the drivers and purchasing the branded labels. Also, I have confirmed that the settings on my computer are accurate. AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COSTS.

BUT quite often it suddenly won't print, even though you may have just printed a dozen labels prior. Having wasted many many labels and time, I found I could disconnect it reconnect and it would work until now. I even switched cables and re-installed, but it does not connect to my Mac. This is just wrong and many reviews (most on Amazon report same. BAD BAD BAD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Labelmaker! Loved the LabelWriter 4XL that I received. It's so easy to use and lets you get creative. I've made labels for school, for a party and for a community event and it has been a breeze to use. I let friends use it too so they could try it and it was a hit in the community event. We were able to print mailing labels and badges really fast. Some friends asked where to get one too and quite a few were considering the option of buying one for themselves. It was also super useful in my home business, I was able to organize my files printing file labels, printed mailing labels, postage and so much more! I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its the goto label printer for most small business This thing is a work horse, it can print all day long. Ive had mine over a year and have printed tons with it. For the negative reviews I just think to myself you do know printers arent the easiest to work with. Thanks to the many different softwares and integrations, but none the less paypal, shipstation, ebay all work with this label maker. Heck I print even pictures and silly stuff on these. The only thing that does happen is this sometimes stops responding and you have to unplug it since it doesnt have a power button. Im picky, this thing works as good as a printer can. Its also a big label so usps doesnt lose my stuff as much, isnt that magical.

It's technology is ahead of its time, it blows everyone else away! It doesn't just work on Windows, and when Apple updates, Dymo updates. That's how good this machine is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freedom from ink The LabelWritter XL has made life easier. I received mine free as part of a Smiley360 Mission. I have had it for a few weeks and I can't imagine not having it any more. The best thing to me is that I no longer will have to buy ink or toner for my labels. This is such a quick way to print out my shipping labels too, plus no need for tape for the paper, because it's a sticker. A really thick, sturdy label. It was easy to load, set up and use.

I have tried unplugging it, turning the computer on/off and it still happens all the time. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm so in love! I have been hesitant about buying a DYMO label writer for the past year, I mean... how good can one of these things be? I really should have bought one sooner. I have an Etsy business and this really would have helped me out in the Christmas rush. I'm absolutely delighted with it! I wish it had a bluetooth feature, but maybe that can come in the future models. This little guy is so quiet, prints fast, and my labels are easy to read. They're also easy to reinstall when they run out, and tear off very easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love mailing from home but having issues I've been using my Dymo 4XL for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love being able to mail from home. I am having some issues though. First, I can print a big postage label if I do it from Ebay but not if I am trying to do it for my own personal labels. When I don't go through Ebay my labels print on only about 1/4 of the large labels and they are always turned in the wrong direction. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to fix this issue. Even my husband, who is a LAN architect, cannot figure out how to fix the issue. I am able to print a regular postage label on the small labels though so it hasn't stopped me from being able to mail from home. I am glad it works right when going through Ebay though because I sell a lot on there. It's also wonderful that you never have to buy ink for it. The "ink" is in the label itself and the printer uses thermal heat to make the labels. That will pay for itself if you use it often as I do. It's easy to load and I was able to figure out how to do everything myself...well except use it for large label..and that is a plus for me since I usually have to have my husband help me when I try to use anything the first time. I would definitely recommend this and I'm hoping someone will tell me how to fix the issue I am having because other than that, I am very pleased. I mail out at least 10 packages a month and this is allowing me to do it from home instead of having to run to the Post Office multiple times each month. It's super easy to schedule a pickup through USPS and so far all of my packages have made it their destination without any issues.

It has only jammed once and I was able to take it apart completely and put it back together. I have never had any issues with this machine. I think I've printed thousands of labels not to mention the friend who had it before me had a business and printed thousands of labels too. Great product!

Checked my driver for my computer and it's fine. So, it's this printer that does not work and there are 15 different choices of software to upload - you have to be a computer geek to figure it out. A NO Recommendation

The biggest mistake the programmers made with this label printer is that there's no way to set the print size larger unless you use adobe, which has it's own bias against anything on your computer that's not ... to their liking.. let's just say. Therefore you get printed barcodes that you can't read without a mag.glass. Really, it's very irritating. Put up with or go with another brand, there's plenty that work fine without bowing down to adobe or microsoft or any of these brands that won't listen to the thousands upon thousands of customer requests..

Printing on 4x6 labels was something my regular ink jet printer was assigned to do until I got the 4XL...The labels from the ink jet were not waterproof, and it was always a hassle loading the label sheets. Now, the 4XL is assigned to all the USPS, DHL, UPS printing tasks and it does an amazing job...the labels are waterproof, highly durable, and the printing is hi-res quality.

I installed the complimentary labels without much issue, but when I tried installing a larger amount, it was insanely painful. If the large roll of labels isn't perfectly flat on the side, it won't work. The labels can shift when you take off the tape, so you have to bang the roll on the floor to make sure it's perfectly flat before installed in the machine. Such an expensive label writer (and expensive labels made by the same brand) should not be so annoying to install. Please find a way to make your machine less picky so it doesn't waste so many expensive labels when installing a new roll. I should not have to bang the roll of the labels against a hard surface to ensure it's perfect flatness fits in your machine. I'm also afraid I'm going to break the flimsy cheap piece of plastic that has to be screwed on and off every time more labels need to be installed.

First, it would just spit out blank labels in between printing, would get jammed and sometimes doesn't even print! Now, I have this problem where the USB cable is not being recognized and after updating my drivers and replacing it with a new cable, it is still not working. Had this machine for almost a year. Do not waste your money!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read the bad reviews I was just visiting the website to download the driver on a new computer and saw the terrible review of this printer. Not sure what everyone's big issue is. I am super sure they just don't understand drivers and proper installation. To date, I have printed just over 19,000 labels (over a period of 24 months) with the only jam or error occuring on the very last label in the roll. Make sure to use DYMO proprietary labels. (this might be an issue as well.)

It makes getting my products packaged and ready to be shipped a breeze. It is so simple that my 5 year old son is able to help me and he loves putting the labels on the packages. This has simplified my life and is a product I would recommend to anyone that has to ship a moderate amount of packages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marginal hardware mutilated by dreadful software iMac Pro, Mojave, 802.11ac iMac sees 4XL on the network, but everything good ends there. The OSX software is atrocious. The templates are useless, but at least you can’t modify them or add new templates or — erase input? Dymo uses smart technology to never remember your address book and requires you to choose it every time you open the app. Dymo software uses smart technology to place return addresses and to addresses into templates, but then it ignores user input and places to into from and won’t allow deletions. You can’t erase or backup: you start over. With nothing. In the unlikely event you reach print, Dymo thinks it’s printed, but it’s failed with no error. At least you get to print lots of expensive, blank labels. iOS. Dymo software is a cruel joke. The OSX and iOS software is so bad, I’m trying to find third-party pay apps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer Service is a Joke My 4XL prints perfectly when I do multiple labels 1 at a time, but if I do more than 2 at a time, from the 3rd label on the print is barely visible and the letters are closer together. BTW: I have the most updated driver and software Dymo has for windows 10. So, I tried to get help from Dymo's customer service, and they said it was probably faulty labels. -Which makes no sense, since they print perfectly fine 1 label at a time. -Plus, I ordered new labels and the same exact problem is happening. Then customer service suggested that I use a "cleaning card," didn't work at all!! @Dymo -You know how inconvenient it is to print 1 label at a time, when you have to print a 100 labels!! Customer service is NO help!

The manual is a bit confusing and I found several video tutorials on the web that showed how to switch label sizes easily. The manual is not clear on this. Product is great. We use custom made color labels so jams would be costly. No problems so far. I think they need to update the manual and software to make label changes easier.

To the folks who say it won't work with a MAC - have you keep the driver updated? I am running Yosemite, with the latest driver installed - it's ready to go.

I am actually sitting here with a fairly new dymo not even 3 months old that JUST STOPPED working out of no where. nothing changed just stopped working. I won't even talk about the amount of labels that I have wasted and time wasted on trying to make both machines work. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I ditto the below message... "When it worked it worked great but...that didn't last long. I've read some of these reviews here and it seems I am not the only one having issues. The strange part is that it just started messing up for no reason. Nothing changed. It would print one label then shoot out 3 blank ones, then if it did print another it was off with half of the label on one sticker and the other half on another sticker. I tried everything but decided to go get a brand new one and later I'd return the other. Got the new one, did a fresh install on another computer and it does the same thing. Unreal. Now I have 2 of these that do not work and have wasted an unbelievable amount of labels that are not cheap. I paid around $250 each for these plus wasted $20-$30 bucks in labels and now am being told it's past 30 days so I can't even return them. Dymo if you read these tell me you can do something for me. The downside: 1 wastes Dymo labels even if loaded right occassionally. 2 No off/on switch. 3 printing labels sideways evidently has been a problem for 3 years or more. 4 Would be such a good product if it printed USPS labels correctly. I have Windows 10 and have tried multiple browsers.

Yes its tight. Yes its fed to the left. Yes I have verified the cord and usb plugs work (can CS not come up with better help responses?!?!?! they all just say the same thing I feel the machine is junk and is not reliable. its meant to improve my life and my business. all it has done is taken away more of my valuable time!!!

I had No problem setting it up because it is very very easy to install. Amazing clear labels produced. Saves on ink since it's thermal and prints fast. I am using it to make stickers for my planner, wish it had color ink too.

It spews out 6 blank labels after each print, that's when I can actually get it to print. None of the paper feed buttons work. I Spent $300 on this to make my life easier, it literally has been nothing but frustration and a waste of time.

Then sporadically, after printing a label, it would not stop releasing the labels. I have wasted so many labels from this happening. Right now, can't get it to work at all. Don't know what happened. The labels jam easily even though they're the real Demo recommended labels and the machine feeds out excess labels after a print.

On the positive side the 4XL prints quickly and quietly and it works with it works with #30915 Dymo Stamp lables and the Dymo/ Endicia postage program so we will put to use for USPS postage. On the less than positive side, We originally purchased the 4XL printer specifically to print UPS labels. After installation and our first attempt to print a UPS label... We found that the Dymo 4XL is not currently certified by UPS and with the simple additional of a software package it is then possible to print UPS/USPS/DHL labels but, this software requires a subscription with a monthly reoccurring charge.

I feel like I am always deleting the driver and re-installing. Its frustrating. I waste so many labels and they are expensive. I even bought the cleaner cards and its still spitting out blank labels. Off to delete the driver and reinstall again for like the 5th time in a year.

Bought this to ship out my sales on ebay and Mercari. Requires too much work, and still not have been able to print a single label. Much easier just to print on regular printer and use scotch tape.

I only use DYMO brand labels and almost exclusively the large size. They are loaded to left and coming straight through the feed. Still, I have a trashcan full of wasted labels and only 3 that printed correctly.

My biggest problem with it is at the end of the roll it tends to spit out the last few labels instead of using them. Overall we've had very few be wasted. It's paid for itself already and I recommend it, even for a small business.

Some people are complaining about this product but from their responses you can tell they don't know how to use electronics. As far as for the shipping labels price, you don't need to buy Dymo brand, there are other brands you can buy for cheaper that will save you money... Stop complaining and start researching...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buying this was the best decision of my life! Prints extremely fast, NO MORE BUYING INK!!!! When ever it says "not connected to internet" just unplug it for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Also, for HP - if you are shipping ebay 4x6 shipping labels, it will fit weird on the label. When you select print and the label comes up, click "Print using system dialog" and the bottom and then select print from the new window, it should now print out perfectly. Good day!

Not only does this thing waste labels (prints off four extra blank labels for every one it prints) but despite multiple attempts it doesn't print when USB is not connected. Overall rating: F-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer...when it works. I purchased the 4XL a few months ago, and had a heck of a time getting it to even print. After 2 days of trying everything, I called customer support. No help. Finally figured it out and it did GREAT, over 500 shipping labels printed. Today I go to print 3 labels, 2 print, then the third will not. Says "in error state". I have rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled software, blah blah, googled 'troubleshooting dymo 4XL'. I love this printer, but am tired of this.

I keep buying Dymo products, and they keep failing, and I keep buying them thinking this is a reputable and respectable company whose products must be under constant improvement and development. The new update you have Mac 8.7.4 it is breathtakingly idiotic. I have been trying to add the drivers and I fail every time. I have used all sorts of remedies found online & still of no use.

I have waisted so many labels already its ridiculous. I have another label wriiter that works perfectly but i have now spent the last 4 day trying to get this new label writer to work.

It is extremely inconsistent - it will work a couple times and then stop completely or will ghost print tons of labels. It also prints partial labels at times rendering them completely useless. I have wasted countless labels with this printer due to these issues and have only used the correct size Dymo brand labels and fed them through the printer as directed. I have purchased many other Dymo brand printers in the past and am extremely disappointed in this product.

Only downside is that there are very few things which can be configured. It would be nice if label size (or printable area of label) could be adjusted like nearly every other thermal printer I have used. Overall it still is a great printer if you have things which fit in its normal setting range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value and so far so good. I found this label printer on CDW for less than anywhere else, and non-affiliated reviews were good, so I bought it. I was concerned that the DYMOLabelWriter might not be as robust as the Zebra workhorse printers, but the DYMOLabelWriter came highly recommended. So far, so good. No problems after 2 months.

We ship out up to 80+ orders per day and trying to print address labels on an 8-1/2 x 11 inch peel and stick 4-sticker sheet before we bought the Dymo 4XL was purely brutal. Can't run my business without the Dymo 4XL!

It's completely compatible with Etsy shipping and I highly recommend to anyone frustrated with trying to print labels on regular paper with a regular printer, that always seems to run out of ink, just when you don't need it to.
