Good cordless vac, but has several obvious flaws
I like this DeWalt cordless hand vac. It replaces two different cordless hand vacs from Hoover. The balance is spot-on and it has great suction, but there are three things I really dislike and one obvious missing attachment.
1) The attachments do not have a physical fastener to keep them in place. They rely on friction, which is OK if you're pushing the vac away from you, but if you're pulling it towards you the attachments are pulled off. The vacs' great suction works against the friction holding the attachment on. My Hoover cordless hand vac had this feature. This is really poor engineering from DeWalt.
2) The HEPA filter is nice, but it would be much better if there were a washable foam pre-filter that protected the HEPA filter. My corded Shark vac uses that arrangement and it works great. You wash the foam filter monthly and replace the HEPA filter every 3 years. This is poor engineering from DeWalt.
3) The dust bucket should have a hinged release on its bottom so you don't have remove it and the filter to empty it. My Hoover cordless hand vac had this feature. This is poor engineering from DeWalt.
4) At this price point, the vac should have a motorized brush attachment.
All in all, I'm OK with my purchase, but DeWalt clearly missed the boat on several features that their competition did not.

Missing accessory.
I bought this from Amazon unit came without the round brush , contacted Amazon and they wanted me to return to , I don't want to return it since I need it and it works fine for it's purpose , but the 2 star is because I've tried to contact Dewalt for the missing part and it's been impossible to reach someone been on hold trie date chat etc with no success, I would just be happy getting the missing part and Amazon can't help with that they don't offer replacement of missing parts just return for a refund and I don't want to deal with a return and then reorder.

Dewalt comes thru again
I have many Dewalt cordless tools so it's a no brainer when I needed to replace an old hand vacuum.
I always have a charged battery ready to go.
I would appreciate to know how I can purchase another extension tube or two? I have tall windows and occasionally I need to remove bugs beyond my reach with just one extension tube

This thing sucks (in a good way)
I used to have every dewalt 20V tool made before they expanded the arsenal to its current expanse. Still a lot, just not as much as currently offered. We use Milwaukee at work, but I love my Dewalt.
I've asked my Dewalt rep when the stick vacuum is coming out for a couple years everytime I see him. It is finally here, and it didn't let me down. Incredibly suction, decent battery life, and becoming my most used tool around the house. It fills the void where my regular vacuum fails. I always keep a batter in it so my girlfriend can grab it to suck up spiders and other pests. Truly a family friendly product.
The filter replacement cost was my biggest concern, but the one that came in it shakes out easy enough that I haven't lost suction after 6 months of use despite the dust my wood stove produces.
Buy this. You won't be disappointed.

Very useful
I bought this 6 months ago and it works pretty good. It came with a lot of attachments and surprisingly I found myself finding a good use for each attachment. For its size it does a great job but don’t expect it to work like a big shop vacuum. Overall I recommend this little vacuum it is great for quick clean ups.

Cheap Accessories
I wanted to love this products as I am a huge Dewalt fan. As of 2 months ago when I purchased this vacuum, I loved it. I used it only inside the house for my hard wood floors until the Floor nozzle broke off. Dewalt Guaranteed Tough. So they say, only for 2 months.

About time to have a handy unit like this but wish the head was powered so you could have a motorized brush roll. Even create a new brush roll with its own battery so you can Retro fit this unit.

Great for a minute
I wanted to love this vacuum as it seemed ideal for corners and cleaning vehicles. We used it for less than an hour and the filter was clogged resulting in no suction. Even after cleaning the filter it has little suction now. There has to be a fix, tip or trick right?

Overall pretty Dang good!
This is a great little vac, I’ve been waiting for it to come out for awhile! It’s super light and handy for small stuff. Sometimes these tools get a bad rap. You can’t expect them to have the power of your corded shop vac. That’s not what they’re designed to be. Couple things could make it better. It needs a powered roller head, that would make it almost perfect. Also, the screw that holds the belt clip on can be tricky to get started. I found it easier to start the screw first, put the belt clip in, and finish screwing it down. Other than that, I’m happy!

Awesome vacuum
This is my favorite vacuum. I originally bought this just for use around the house. Now I use it everywhere. I am more then likely buying another for my work van. It is extremely powerful and the battery last a long time. It come with a lot of accessories that come in handy. Only complaint is it should come with a second filter.

Great "Dust Buster" but NEED replacement filters!
It is great as a quick shop vac, car or utility vac or super powered dust buster, especially with ability to utilize multiple Dewalt batteries for constant use; however Dewalt NEEDS a pre-filter (Bag, mesh filter cover, something) to protect the HEPA or needs to have replacement filters available... even if it came with 2 filters, that would make the product that much better / useful / less frustrating to clean out.

Really great hand vacuum
I bought this small vacuum for general household cleanup. So far it has not disappointed. Plenty of suction and the HEPA filter keeps everything inside. The dust collection area is small, but easy to empty. It come with several attachments that make the machine so much more versatile. Overall I’m very happy with every aspect of this tool. And I almost forgot about the light! Seeing behind furniture and in dark corners is always helpful!!!

21 minutes run time is way too short
The vacuum works very well but with a fully charged 20V battery, it only lasts about 20 minutes. I'm not experienced with DeWalt products and purchased this vacuum because my husband has many DeWalt tools, chargers, etc. A cordless vacuum will exhaust the battery much more rapidly than a drill... but I wish there were some clear indication on the box that expressed the amount of run time. The salesperson at the big-name store I bought it at agreed that the 10V 2AH meant "2 hours" of run time. I have no doubt this is my error for not understanding, but I'm still quite disappointed with this selection.... it was not cheap!

To weak to be useful and clogs
While I've been very impressed with several of my newer DeWalt tools, this one was just plain bad. I thought this specifically to keep in the living room to clean up around the hearth. That would mostly involve picking up small pieces of wood debris, dirty, and ash. The suction is way too little to do the job. What it does pick up often clogs at the little rubber flap going into the tank. The tiny vacuum tube should have been a clue before I bought it. I read where larger batteries could improve the performance, but even a 2 month old 9ah battery didn't do it. This is just an example of Dewalt not trying very hard. They are capable of designing tools that move air, I'm very happy with my 60v blower for example.

Perfect other then one flaw
I pick this vacuum up during Black Friday sale and Iv been eyeballing it for a while. Now that I have it I don’t know why I waited so long. The fact that I can use it like a stand up vacuum in a customers home makes clean up fast and easy and it’s powerful for a little vacuum it will pick up the shave wire jacket and cut small pieces of copper from the wire. It only has One flaw the inlet and filter are to close to each other and when you such up a bunch of wood chips all at once and you will because it has good suction it all gets jammed at the entrance point in the can because of the little flapper and the filter. Other than that I love this thing.

20v stick vacuum
I absolutely love this little vacuum. It stays in the truck 24/7. I just recently hooked it up to a new 5 1/2 inch flooring saw a bought and was cutting inside no problem. Going to make a
platform on wheels with the vacuum and
knock floors out twice as fast. Although, I love pulling out my DEWALT 12 in double bevel sliding chop and DEWALT table saw. Nothing feels more professional than carrying the Black and yellow! Lol

This vacuum is great I have the 60v battery I use on it and it's awesome however the filter I can not find to buy a replacement. Makes this vacuum useless after the filter is clogged, please get replacement filters easy to buy!

Amazing hand vacuum
I initially purchased this hand shop vac for use in my workshop. However I learned that using the floor attachment, I can clean all the woods floors in my house in 10 minutes. It works better than my Dyson and the batteries are interchangeable with my Dewalt tools. Amazing vacuum cleaner. Bravo Dewalt.

Great product but where are thereplacement filters
Great tool. Love it and it works great. The filter almost works too well. I find myself blowing it out frequently. Would like to order a spare or two so I don’t have to use my air compressor as much. Just need to make the replacement filters more available.

I am a competition dog trainer that just bought a new truck. I was happy to find that Dewalt had a tool to help me combat the endless shedding of German Shepherds. Combined with the extension and round brush, I was easily able to vacuum the hair around the crates. I am definitely going to recommend to the working dog community.

Good at first, filter clogs too quickly
I've bought a ton of dewalt tools, I have at least a dozen 20v tools and 8 batteries. I also have a few large dewalt corded tools. I think they are almost all great products and great values that I'd give 5 stars to. I'm saying this all to say that unfortunately, this vacuum is the exception that I'm not happy with.
I really wanted to like this vacuum: it's compatible with my existing battery/charging system, and it's very convenient for quick pickup jobs while my shop vac is hooked up to a bigger tool. This vacuum is really good at first, good suction and good battery life. The problem is that the filter gets clogged almost immediately, before the dirt tank is even 10% full. If you can avoid ever tilting the vacuum up (so the dirt falls down on the filter), it will last a bit longer before clogging, but not by much. When the filter is clogged, the suction is mediocre. I have to suck the dust out of the filter of this vac with my shop vac very frequently in order to keep it usable.
It's also pretty loud. You'll know when the filter is clogged when the vacuum gets even louder and the pitch becomes a bit painful to the ear.
Overall I'm still very happy with the rest of my Dewalt tools. I hope Dewalt reads these reviews and fixes the instantly clogging filter design. I'd buy a version 2 of this product that fixed this issue.

Replacement Filters and Accessories NOT Available
I love the vacuum new, but a lack of replacement filters that actually fit the vacuum and replacement accessories makes me not recommend it for others. Unfortunate. New, it is amazing, but there is no chance at long terms use with a lack of replacement filters that fit and replacement accessories if one is damaged or lost. Disappointing.

Barely Used New Vacuum Keeps Shutting Off
I receive a DEWALT 20V Cordless Dry Hand Vacuum (Tool only) as a Christmas gift this past December 2022 Christmas. This DEWALT 20V Cordless Dry Hand Vacuum was going to be used for cleaning our camper, nothing else. We tried it a couple time and each time it shuts off with in minutes. There is no way it's clogged as it's never been truly test, as it always shuts off. We are very unhappy with the product and we are big Dewalt users. We have watch a lot of other people have great luck with there's and how it runs for 230 ton50 minutesthat's why we bought it. Our 3 to 5 minutes and shuts off. We feel like we got a lime. We would love to exchange it for another one, but feel it's to late to exchange it. We are not sure how the warranty works, as we have never had to use it.

Handy portable vacuum
This is a very handy portable hand vacuum to add to your arsenal ! I have been using this now for about about 3 months in a panel building shop and have been very pleased with its performance. Some things that I like about it are its power, ease of use and compatibility with all of our 20V DeWalt batteries. I definitely recommend getting one for the convenience factor !

Great vacuum
This vacuum has been great for both the job site and at home. My husband got one and has loved vacuuming around the house for me when he’s at home and will often take it to job sites so he can clean up after himself quickly and easily without having to find a place to plug in a regular corded vacuum cleaner.

Good but...
Perfect balance, works well . But to prevent the filter from clogup, it is necessary to put a sponge filter...please make them available for all of your clients.
The other issue is the light, I use it in day time and I have no need for more light. It seems to consume alot of the battery. With my biggest battery I can't do more then ten minutes of vacuum. When the light turns of like 40 seconds after stopping the vacuum then I can restart and do a bit more on the battery. To bad we can't turn it off. If you have a solution, please let me know.
I almost brought it back to canadian tire were I bought the vacuum. Love all your other tools but this one is quite ordinary

Love This Vacuum But Could Be A Bit Better
This vacuum is great for light/medium duty cleanup. I use this thing a lot. I use it in the shop, the house, and the car. suction is great and the included accessories kit is great. I do agree with other reviews that the filters do clog to quickly. I also don't bother attempting to clean the filters and just replace them with cheaper aftermarket filters after I empty it out a few times. I also with the accessories, ends/hose, could be purchased separately as they are beginning to wear out. Especially the brush end (Only because I use this vacuum so much. It is super convenient) I also with the tubes/hose/ends had a locking mechanism as the floor heads have a tendency to fall off if they haven't been pressed on fairly hard.

A Good Vacuum
This vacuum has been very convenient for small cleaning jobs, especially for my vehicle. I do wish it had a little bit more horsepower. It also drains batteries quite rapidly, but overall it's a solid hand vac.
