You can't get anyone on the phone and the customer experience is TERRIBLE!!!! I have paid for this weeks ago and had to email 8 times before getting a response and the issue is still not resolved and I have not received it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why Buy a DELL Docking Station?!! This dock station is everything I needed. I can unplug my laptop and leave with it for the day. When I get back to my office, everything is connected to the dock and with a simple, single plug-in of the USB C power cord everything turns on like a symphony of perfect harmony. Extra monitors, phone sync and charger, ethernet, etc. all connected. 180W of uninterrupted power to my laptop. I tried another brand of docking station... and the more components you plug into that other hub, the less watts are delivered to your laptop, and you get a low wattage error message. Low watts can damage your laptop. Buy Dell. Get what was meant to go hand in hand with your nice new computer like I did. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works great! This dock works well with my XPS 16 and my three external monitors. All I had to do was to connect it and power my laptop on. The power provided is good for my laptop (Core 9 + nVidia card) and for an external storage unit connected via USB. I was surprised because despite doing some heavy work on my laptop, the dock stayed cool. The fan is audible under heavy load, but nothing different than any laptop fan when the CPU is used at 100%. Overall, a great product. P.S. The MyDell app does not behave correctly when the laptop is docked *before powering it on and logging in*. It will use a lot of CPU and make the machine less responsive. However, if the laptop is docked after the app has started (i.e., after logging in), or if I switch from the external screens to the laptop-only screen and back, everything works fine. This is obviously a software issue with MyDell which should be addressed, but does not depend on the dock (removing MyDell also removes the problem). I mention it in case others have experienced the same.

There were no visible signs of damge to the packaging or to the dock. I have to plug the Ethernet cable directly into my laptop instead of into the dock. All of the other connections work.

There’s a reason Dell doesn’t ship their systems with the edit already performed. If you’re looking for dual 4K without the registry edit, get the WD24TBS.

My business used to purchase the variant with Thunderbolt 4, but that just isn't necessary for our day to day operations. This dock accomplishes everything we need - fast charging, multiple USB ports, small footprint. Sometimes I wish it had more USB type A ports, but that can be fixed with a dongle or using the ones on the laptop itself.

The solution I found was to connect my charger as well. The whole point of buying the Dell brand one was to get a dock that only requires a single USB-C connection. There are plenty of cheaper versions out there that require a separate power connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade to my Laptop I added this hub with power supply to my Dell XPS so that it could run my two Dell monitors and handle all the other connections needed to run my laptop in an office environment. What I didn't expect was the performance boost I received which I assume is because of the increase size of the included power supply. My CPU fan seems to hardly run now whereas before it ran all the time and I also noticed that this hub runs much cooler than the non-Dell hub I had before this. Great upgrade with surprising performance results!

Since I am a gamer and streamer I needed to be able to add items to my laptop to continue to grow my channel. Right out of the package it was easy to set up. I was able to plug in all of my devices (2 monitors, Alienware keyboard, and cooling fan). I still had ports open to add in charger cord to be able charge my Alienware headset if needed. I had no issues with plugging into my Alienware M15 R7 laptop. There has been no issue with the quality and speed of my game and streaming. I would recommend this product if you need more ports to expand your computer needs.

But I like that it has multiple ports that I can use. Which helps me out, I don't have to unplug one thing to add another or stress cause I can't get something done without having the ports I needed. So far it has done really well, no issues. Very happy with it!

It comes with multiple ports that are helpful to charge different technology products at the same time. While it didn't work with my laptop, it is useful with out desktop. I also like that it has a USB type-C port, which is the new thing nowadays. This is a very powerful docking station that charges at a fast speed. I'd recommend it but do check compatibility.

I might have to get a usb hub to connect my webcam since this dock only has 2 usb port. The design is beautiful and it sits nicely on my desk. I can power on my laptop from the dock with a button. Very fast and responsive, definitely recommend for dell laptop users.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Dock works Great! I upgraded from a WD15 docking station and for my dual monitors to work, Super awesome, Extra power at 180W. Once you download the latest drivers for this dock, it's bulletproof. I keep my XPS 15 hidden under my desk, closed. the dock has a it's own power button, so when I power down for the day it's ready to start up by just pushing the power button on the dock which I keep on my desk out of the way . I've got two 27" Dell HD monitors. The resolution are perfect when its connects to the docking station.

It has HDMI and landline ports also. It helped keep all of my tech looking tidy. The reason for 4 stars is I wish it had ports on both sides, not just one.

I was finally able to work off of the two monitors on my desk, and be able to plug in all the peripherals I need. I haven’t even started using up all the ports on the dock too! This DELL Docking Station is TOP OF THE LINE, and really makes hooking up extra devices to my DELL Laptop simple and no clutter of cables to mess with. Also it is made so updates and upgrading simple without having to go out and purchase another one when the newest one becomes available, Thanks DELL.

But it does the job! power supply works great to power some needed powered accessories, and the computer recognizes my docking station almost immediately. Works great while I work at home as I can use my monitor, printer, keyboard, mouse, and even charge my earphones by expanding the limited uses of my built in ports. Great options and I no longer feel limited!

I have several laptops that I have now plugged into, including Latitudes, XPS and Alienware. All systems work with this unit at some capacity. Pretty well full functionality with my Latitude, where my Alienware requires a larger power supply, so the dock only provides peripheral connectivity. In general the units is robust and heavy. No expense spared on the build. Driver and firmware updates were available via Dell Support and easily applied. Would highly recommend this to anyone needing a dock for their laptop. Check Dell's website on which laptops are fully / partially supported.

I especially liked the ability with the HDMI outputs to add extra monitors for more productivity. Having the supplied, extra USB ports and device charging capability is a bonus, especially these days. Small form factor on the desk is a plus.

I went from having to plug several cables and accessories into my computer every time I wanted to set up at my desk to being able to use one cord thanks to this product. It has plenty of connectivity including three usb type a ports and two usb c ports, one of which can be used as a display port output in addition to the two full size dedicated displayport 1.4 outputs and full size hdmi 2.0. It is also equipped with a gigabit network port. When using a dell laptop it can supply 130 watts of power using the built in hardwired (unfortunately usb c cable. For non dell systems, or if using the 130 watts power adapter, it can deliver up to 90 watts of power to the host device. I’m very glad I can also use this with non dell laptops.

After much communication with Dell, they convinced me this was an upgrade and would not have the systemic problems that both previous desk docks did with Latitude laptops. But it will not charge and actually drains the battery also. Also it has communication problems with the computer, such that it will lock up the keyboard occasionally.

It was very easy to set up and use. I have two monitors and my dell laptop connected at the moment. This docking station works great with all my application that I placed on my montiors like quickbooks, remote desktop ect. I haven't had any issues with connection problems or drop outs at all. This docking station also has a fan that comes on a few times a day for a few seconds to regulate it's temperature. The fan is very quite and doesn't make much noise. If your looking for a good quality and well made Dell docking station I would definitely recommend this one. It's that great.

Dell Express Charge charges very fast letting me be more productive working from home. Data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps, lets you stay productive when connected to all your devices. The dock support many of my electronics and It comes with a warranty. The dock makes it easy to use with using multiple monitors at the same time, which is extremely convenient. I plop wish i would have got one earlier. Its a great product well made and I would highly recommend this product and I would purchase it again.

When I received the docking station it was boxed rather nicely and everything was in place. I read through the instructions and downloaded the necessary drivers that were needed to be installed, hooked up my monitors and laptop and what do you know BAM! It works like a charm. I highly recommend anyone with a Dell USB-C powered laptop to use this if they want to have dual-displays at their home or office.

It has all of the ports you need for connection. I work from home and use two monitors and a laptop and was able to connect to the docking station without any problems. Working from home and from a laptop I wanted something to plug all of my things together without taking up too much space and this worked great. I love that I can charge my computer while also having it up on a monitor takes the need of moving my power cord from my bag to my desk every time (forgetting it home).

Two years ago, the models being shipped used a newer docking station. This meant that there were no spares for us to bring home. I love having multiple monitors and dislike having to hook up individual peripherals each time I move between locations. The docking station works with multiple models of dell laptops. In addition to a time savings (really just aggravation), you will put less wear on your cables and connectors. If working on a computer and moving between locations is part of your occupation, having a full featured docking station is something you can’t afford not to have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell docking station has simplified my setup so much. The Dell Docking Station - WD19S 180W is exactly what I needed to run my computer setup up with speed and ease. The docking station gives you everything you will need plus some you didn't know you needed. It gives connectivity with all different USB ports and HDMI ports as well as gigabit ethernet. It also has Dell express charge allowing up to 80 percent in 1 hour and express boost that can get you 35 percent in 20 minutes. One of the biggest upsides was the space it freed up on my desk. It makes my setup look more professional even in my home setting. I highly recommended this docking station because it's performance is way above it's equally impressive price point.

The ability to pass video, data, and power through one cord has cleaned up my desk and made my life easy. There are 2 display ports and 1 hdmi, so along with my laptop screen I’m able to run a 4 display setup. It also has 2 usb 3.0 ports and a usb c PD port so my peripherals are also run through the dock. I am very happy with the result of my choice of dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good docking station, though not a perfect replacement for the D6000 I bought the Dell WD19S - 180W Docking Station to replace a Dell Universal Dock D6000 which a lightning surge fried. Overall the new Dock is good. I found the D6000 more functional for my needs, though, for 2 reasons. The WD19S does not have a connection for earphones which I used consistently with the D6000. It also lacks a dual connection option for USB-C or Thunderbolt cable to connect to the laptop that the D6000 did (basically an adapter attached to the cable). The WD19S-180W, however, does permit charging through its cable. I did not miss that with the D6000, though, since when using the Dock I was at a location that permits plugging in the adapter.

I attempted to updated the dock driver from the Dell website, but it i am unable since it can’t be recognized. Computer is fine (checked ports, BIOS settings, drivers, updates, etc).

I went to a remote job and took it with me. I recently purchased a new one because the one from work has a bit less power, and I am constantly switching between work and personal computers. I can also charge my phone, iPad, etc. The only issue I have had in general is loosening of the USB - C connector. I am going to be very careful when disconnecting but hope it stands the test of time. Otherwise, I can’t do anything without this dock.

Work laptops are thinkpads so I still have to plug in power, but small price to pay, especially since so many laptops don't have the old style USB ports anymore which is what my mouse and keyboard are. Plus I still have a bunch of ports on the dock/hub for adding anything else!

My only frustration is why a docking station most likely to be used for a multiple-monitor setup only has one HDMI port -- when a significant portion of Dell's affordable monitors only take HDMI input. Either have two HDMI ports on the docking station, make display ports standard on your affordable monitors, or make it an option to get HDMI-HDMI or DISPLAY-HDMI cable in the box, not a separate accessory.

During our conversation, the advisor assured me that this dock would allow me to connect the following devices to a new Dell XPS 15 (9530) which I purchased together with this dock: • 2 Dell 32 Curved 4K UHD Monitors – (S3221QS) • 2 external hard drives • 1 webcam • 1 wireless keyboard and mouse I clearly expressed to the sales Dell advisor that I wanted to connect both monitors at 4K resolution and he/she assured me that I would be able to do so with this dock station. Since i purchased this docking station, I've spent numerous hours with technical support because one of the monitors WILL NOT accept a 4K resolution. Technical support has confirmed the capabilities of this docking station and they told me that this docking station DOES NOT support 2 monitors at 4K. This is completely contradictory to what the sales advisor told me. I am very frustrated and disappointed. I can't help to think that the sales advisor lied to me about the capabilities of this dock and did not consider my needs which I made very clear to him/her.

It is out in the open on top of my desk, so there is no good reason for this. 2. Very disappointed that the 3.5mm jack was removed. 3. My Dell Vostro (purchased earlier this year) will not boot up if it is already plugged into the dock. It sticks at the Dell logo indefinitely. Frustrating, because I have to turn off the laptop, unplug it from the dock, start the laptop, and wait until everything is loaded before I can plug it back into the dock.

This new dock has worked flawlessly since I turned it on, and I don't need a separate power source for my Dell XPC as the dock is powerful enough to charge my laptop. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell Docking Station - WD19S 180W I I recently purchased the Dell Docking Station – (WD19S 180W) just a few weeks ago and besides the fact that it arrived earlier than the estimated ETA it was a life saver. It was easy to set up and the driver updated automatically. I have been able to have the setup as a desktop, with dual screens, without having to purchase a new one right now. The only thing it lacked was the sound, and that may have been a user error issue on my part, I just went ahead and purchased some external speakers. This docking station is also compatible with USB-C. There are two display ports, one HDMI port, as well as two USB ports and one ethernet port but you can keep the wireless Wi-Fi setup on your laptop. It charges your laptop while it is docked as well.

On average they fail after less than 18 months and Dell will send you a replacement unity which is also broken - usually more broken than the one you tried to get fixed. Not enough ports.

I would also like a removable cable; where it stands if something happens to the cable between your laptop and the dock, you need to buy a whole new dock.

I tried to drive a 34" dell 3421W and a dell 2410 but it would not drive them in their native recommended settings. I had to purchase Dell WD19TBS in order to make them work.

I think a 2nd HDMI port would be good addition. When putting this together I did not even know about Display cables but I did find some but (1) cable did not work so I am operating with (1) monitor on HDMI and (1) on Display.

The USB-C connection to the laptop does not seem to handle daily use - we've had several issues where the plastic housing cracks in two. Also several times, external monitors don't want to connect, so everything needs to be unplugged from power, then plugged back in for them to recognize the monitors (and whatever is plugged in).

The only recommendation I would have for this dock and others like it, would be to provide more USB-C data inputs for multiple USB-C devices such as external SSD drives. I have 3 such SSD type C devices and wound up having to purchase a USB-C hub. Also, be sure to check the device comparability list before buying. And read the fine print in terms of monitor resolution support (e.g. this dock does not support dual 4K monitor displays) In the end, the Dell universal dock was the route I took and that works best for my needs. This dock has an internal cooling fan and plenty of ports. It provides plenty of power to charge your laptop and power all of your peripherals. If you need the 3.5mm audio jack, choose the model number without the "S".

I'm impressed that plugging the powered docking station into the computer turns the computer on. I was also impressed how quickly the docking station was delivered. I ordered from Dell on a Thursday and the docking station was delivered on the following Monday.

There's no phono/audio jack, which is surprising and disappointing, IMO, because that just still seems like a standard port for retrofitting existing desk setups for users. Those kinds of speakers are still a pretty common desk accessory. Other than that, it seems to be a solid, reliable product.

My USB headset often stops and then has to be unplugged to make it work again. All of these were connected to another docking station and were moved to this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent dock for 130w Dell laptop I wish I had bought this dock two years ago with my Dell XPS 15 9500 instead of a VisionTek vt4900, which I purchased from Dell at the same time as "compatible". Since the VisonTek dock only supplied 100w, I discovered my 130w laptop also needed its power supply. Technically, the dock was "compatible" and it managed my monitors and peripherals fine, it just didn't have enough watts for my laptop. The arrangement worked until my laptop began to "lose" its ability to recognize its own power supply. This often happened in the middle of the most crucial circumstances and was not remedied by a new OEM Dell power supply, updates, or hours of troubleshooting. After tearing my hair out, I purchased this Dell WD19S 180W dock. Since it supplies the 130w power my laptop needs, I don't need an additional power supply (when not connected to the dock, my laptop recognizes its power supply with no problem). I have been using it for about a month. I am running an XPS 15 9500 laptop, two monitors, mouse, keyboard, external hard drive, and Logitech 4K Pro Webcam through this dock. Everything works perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase.

I can connect either laptop and they both work. I can run both the laptop and two additional monitors as extensions (3 independent screens total). For the Mac I did need to download the driver from the Dell site, which was simple. Really pleased this device works for both operating systems. Quality is just fine for my business related programs; I can't comment on running graphic intensive programs

It seems that they do not have as much power as the alienware computers, so the connected monitors do not work. I've had to unplug the USB-C cable, turn it over, and plug it back in to get the displays to work a couple times for end users. And the USB-C end is a bit flimsy - I have a rubber band around mine to keep the plastic together.

I like the longer USB-C connection cable and the cooling fan. It could use more USB 3.1 ports. These occasionally lose connection with peripherals forcing a cold boot of the dock, but not anywhere near as often as we had with the WD 15.

The unit was received in a box undamaged although once we plugged the unit in there was no power indicator light. We plugged the unit in and did not have any connection. Worked with a DELL technician for quite some time and then decided to return the unit. Called back for another issue and the technician told us we did not have the unit plugged on the correct port. Unit was moved to the correct port and connected. The indicator light still does not operate although the overall unit does.

Finally, my second monitor randomly flickers sometimes, and I never had that issue with my surface dock. Overall, it's fine. I wouldn't go out of my way to return it, but I would certainly rethink purchasing it considering it's not as convenient as I had hoped.

I used to use some cheapy unnamed dock that was giving horrendous issues almost every day. It wouldn't connect to one or both monitors, sometimes the keyboard would freeze... Not fun. But with my New Dell dock here, it's been smooth sailing. The ports on the back are varied, and the general build quality feel great too. I particularly like the thick cable that you plug into the laptop

My only disappointment is a Dell S2721QS display attached via the HDMI port on the WD19S would not run at its rated 3840 x 2160, 60Hz refresh rate. When attached to the WD19S it only ran at 30Hz. Work around is to attach the display to a native usb-c port on the laptop via another doc offering a HDMI port.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USB C connect wire is on the wrong side of the docking station I have a Dell laptop and this Dell docking station. The USB C input is on the left side of the laptop but the USB C output wire from the docking station is also on the left. This means that rather than directly connecting between the two you have to either bend the USB C cable 180 degrees if on the left of the laptop or, place on the right side and go behind the laptop and bend back 180 degrees to make the connection. Why would Dell make their own equipment with connections on the wrong sides?

My only frustration is why a docking station most likely to be used for a multiple-monitor setup only has one HDMI port -- when a significant portion of Dell's affordable monitors only take HDMI input. Either have two HDMI ports on the docking station, make display ports standard on your affordable monitors, or make it an option to get HDMI-HDMI or DISPLAY-HDMI cable in the box, not a separate accessory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thunderbolt Struck by Lightning I have just replaced my previous WD19TB 180W, which stopped working after a lightning strike with this one and it works flawlessly. I have 2 external monitors, printer, internet cable, keyboard, external disks pluged into this dock which is connected to my Dell Precision 5570 laptop. The Dell laptop came with 3 USB-C ports and a single adpter for a USB-A and HDMI. If you need to connect multiple USB-A and monitors this will be a great solution. I also travel so it's nice to be able to just leave my portable power supply in my travel bag, unplug the dock and go. I never really used the Thunderbolt port, but if extra speed is a concern for you you might look at the Thunderbolt model. One complaint is that I use external speakers I purchased years ago which has a USB-A port for power. When I plug into the docking station I get some static through the speakers, but using the USB-A/HDMI adapter provided with the laptop resolved the issue.

Thus, it gets a solid 4, but if Dell had not removed the audio port, I would have given it a 5+. I had an old Dell Dock, but it did not have all the input connectors I needed. Also bought a nice shiny new XPS 15 to replace my large desktop machine, and am enjoying the resulting extra desk space. The XPS works fine, but I am still in the set up mode. I also have an 8 yr old Inspiron 5559, souped up with a 1TB internal SSD rather than the original disk drive, which still works ok and will continue to serve as a backup machine.
