Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell Memory Upgrade with 16 GB 1RX8 DDR4 RAM The installation was done promptly when the technician showed up, with improved performance and no issues with the laptop afterwards. There were a few problems. The first is that both sets of RAM were mailed to me instead of separately to the two individuals getting the upgrade. The second was that we were informed that there were two memory slots on the laptop, when in fact there was only one that could be upgraded. This resulted in some confusion on our side that took several days to clear up. I recommend putting in more work before shipments are made, and also making sure communications regarding laptop models are accurate.

I was trying to run a W10 OS on 8GB RAM and it just wasn't enough. Using the single RAM means I can double again if I decide I need it.

I wanted Dell product, only to take it to an installer and found out it was 30% more expensive than what is out there and we are talking comparing clock speed and quality, basically 30% extra for a logo on the chip.

When laptop arrived, on board was 2, 8 GB of Ram so I needed to order another 16 GB of Ram. Dell did not give me the same price deal -- so the 2nd 16GB of Ram was $80.00 more.

Buying these has been one of the worst Dell experiences I have ever had and continues to suck because I have only had 1 interaction with anyone that knows what they are doing, I can't return them, replace them or use them. RUN AWAY

Memory is fine but because I only got one stick it now causes the system to work as single channel and not dual channel. SO the speed of the memory is reduced from 3200Mhz to 2900Mhz. It is probably best to buy this memory in pair sticks so that you can take advantage of the full speed of dual channel memory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trouble with Memory and Trouble Handling 2 Tickets The memory chips ordered from Dell along with the purchase of Dell Vostros did not work. 2 DRAMs and 2 Vostros and neither of them accepted the Dell Memory Chips. We had to work with Support to re-order new chips, and Dell Support is unable to process both Vostros and both Chips at the same time - which necessitated 2 Support Tickets ending up in duplicate memory updates and all kinds of hassles with returns and installs and attempts to get things working. We finally found a combination of Vostro and Memory for both systems to work, but we'll never go down this path again.
