As a result I had to spend an hour on the phone with product support to find the correct memory. Needless to say I am not happy that there isn't a more direct method of finding the correct memory for my computer.

I know just enough about IT to know that it is important to get memory expansion just right. So, I went with Dell to make sure that the recommended memory would work in my system. It did not. So I spent the best part of a couple of days working on it and working with Dell tech support. At the end of it they told me that I needed RDIMM, not UDIMM memory. Which is fine, but the Dell website specifically showed the memory I ordered to be compatibly with the system (and even the service tag #) that I had purchased. I will say that Tech Support was very good, albeit somewhat slow, and Dell did take the memory back and issue a full refund without issue. Since Dell did not offer RDIMM in a size that would work for me, I ordered the expansion memory I wanted elsewhere and it worked fine.

But now with 64GB of RAM and clean WIN10 install, runs like a Tesla in Plaid mode, it's a massive speed improvement! All Dell machines should currently ship with minimum of 64GB RAM if Windows 10 is involved.

My XPS machines were not very old at all but I had always been pretty disappointed with their performance when performing various tasks. I bought these and maxed out my RAM on two XPS machines and so far I've been very happy with the performance. The machines are now running the way I thought they should have initially. I think nowadays certain applications, especially online database type programs like drop box, onedrive, etc. just bog down a computer constantly so having lots of ram is a good thing. Install was a breeze on my machines. Overall I'm very pleased with purchase so far. I'm not a computer professional so i can't speak very technically about them.

Before this addition it would not due to insufficient RAM. The interaction with DELL professionals provided the selection of the proper memory card to the existing machine and the accompanying instructions showed how to do the installation. Very nice and easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great RAM that improved gaming performance, more than increased the load my RAM was expected to carry, and didn't void the warranty as I had a friend install it correctly. Good RAM that I was able to have my friend install and still keep my warranty going on my G5 5090. Also, not only did it improve my gaming performance, but it seems like it added a little more than double the RAM than I had before (I don't know how. I installed 2 16GB sticks of RAM in place of the 2 8GB sticks of RAM I had before. Definitely worth the price, especially if you want to install it yourself or through someone else and not void the warranty (as long as you don't mess up your computer from installing RAM, which shouldn't happen if you install the RAM corrrectly).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work fine as long as you remove the HyperX memory that comes with your Aurora R9 Once I removed the memory that came with the Alienware Aurora R 9 PC, I was able to put 64 GB of this memory onto the PC and it worked, if I left the original memory in then the BIOS did not recognize any memory and a no boot situation took place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth the Dell surcharge I gave it a 2 rather than a 1 because it was pretty easy to install but I would expect that, when paying more for a memory upgrade from Dell on a Dell computer, the computer would recognize and use the memory, instead I have a card that I can see is empty while the rest of my memory is full/red and I cannot install anything as a result. I suppose if I had a IT degree instead of an MD and Ph.D., I might be able to make it work but who has time for that...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from To Upgrade your Inspiron 3670 upgrade your memory I originally had 12 GB memory in my desktop, so to upgrade I replaced a 4 GB with this 16 GB which improved my memory to 24 GB. The performance improved. To make it work, I had to put the 16 in the number 1 slot and moved the 8 to the number 2 slot. The larger GB has to be in 1st slot or it will not boot.

I had to chat with Dell tech service to verify which slot I should insert the card. It all worked, but the configuration I had (2 8GB cards and 1 16Gb card) was not identified in the computer manual as a feasible combination to get 32Gb.

I purchased it because my son wanted to upgrade his computer and I wanted the convenience of making sure it was compatible with his mother board. Virtually all other non DELL name brands are not compatible. If the price was more reasonable priced I would highly recommend it.

Not sure why the memory configuration table in the service manual doesn’t match my configuration but Dell’s tech help got me to the correct location for my memory expansion.
