Rated 5 out of 5 by from OEM Quality...don't skimp. This high wattage power brick is a fundamentally better design than the available knock-offs. It's well worth the extra cost for the average user. Notably absent is the blue light bling that is integral to the other designs. This is an inherent weak point, in all other offerings, that is replaced by solid, contiguous shielding and molded wrap in the Dell model. So unless you fancy being obsessive about keeping your connecting cord ramrod straight or don't mind buying the cheap imitations every 3-6 months, you'll want to by the genuine article.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked on Alienware 14 We have an Alienware 14 computer for which we purchased two aftermarket replacement cords that were supposedly compatible with it. Neither charged the unit and error messages were flagged. Out if desperation we plugged it into this replacement cord that was purchased for another Dell computer. We got no error messages and the unit charged perfectly. We subsequently purchased a second charger and now have two satisfied computers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use Dell Power Supply/Cord Only If you have a Dell, go to the Dell website and buy your power supply/cord there. Ive tried 3 or 4 power supply/cords and none of them charged my computer. Spend the extra cash, you'll be happy you did.

The only pilot light is on the rectifier. An additional pilot on the line that connects to the computer would be helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn’t even work in a Dell product. Amazingly enough, this power supply didn’t even work for the company’s own product. I attempted to use it in an Alienware laptop and the plug was 1/8th’ too short to provide power. Complete debacle.

My computer then tells me “the power adapter wattage And type cannot be determined, the battery won’t charge” and that I should plug in a dell 180w adapter for best performance. So complete waste of money for me.

When I restart, I get the message that this version is not as powerful as the one that came with smy Alienware. I should have been able to buy an exact replacement, not a similar but not the same.

I never thought I should need a back up power & adapter for the computer; yet I have a new one now & am hoping I can connect the original & use heat shrink tubing on it for back up now. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its fine A perfectly serviceable power supply for Dell laptops that utilize the 7.4mm barrel plug. It is also compatible with some aftermarket docking stations. The DC cable is about 5'8" long (1.7~ish meters)
