The choice is easier than ever with the FireXpress 525 USB2 Combo. The new USB 2.0 is 40x faster than USB 1.1 and is backward compatible with USB 1.1 systems.
This external 5.25” FireWire/USB 2.0 disk drive provides the USB 2.0 and FireWire interface to connect to both Mac and PC. The data stored on the hard drive can be fully accessible with either interface, and do not require special partitions. With maximum bus transfer rate of 400Mbps or higher on either of the Bus, you are guaranteed superior performance with any system.
The FireXpress 525 is the ideal solution to bring fast portable storage to any USB and IEEE 1394-enabled (i.Link®, FireWire®) system (Windows, MacOS, Linux). It’s easy to save money and tune your own portable CD-burner by installing any type of optical drive in the FireXpress 525. Works with DVD-R(W) and DVD-RAM as well. This conversion kit supports Large Drive (>137GB) on FireWire and USB 2.0, and high-speed high-powered 48x CD-RW. FireWire repeater continues to function in USB mode as well as drive power-off mode.
The external drive kit includes a premium IEEE 1394 cable, USB cable, driver software, AC power adapter.
