The Cisco Catalyst 3850 series is the enterprise-class stackable access-layer switches that provide full convergence between wired and wireless on a single platform. Cisco's Unified Access Data Plane (UADP) application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) powers the switch and enables uniform wired-wireless policy enforcement, application visibility, flexibility and application optimization. The Cisco Catalyst 3850 series switches support full IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), modular and field-replaceable network modules, redundant fans and power supplies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Cisco PerformanceWe just are in the process of replacing a large number of 3550 switches. These are solid performers and the stack cables make building out cabinets faster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullIn my opinion a very large improvement over the early 3750 Series. The addition of hot swap replaceable power supplies and easily replaceable fans which seemed to be the biggest problems with the 3750 series. My only gripe was originally when these switches first came out the support for stacking up to 9 switches was not there. That is no longer an issue as it was resolved a few months after the initial release. The addition of a dedicated management interface i'm sure has it's place as well. The ability to manage the switch via usb is nice also as most new laptops no longer have an integrated serial port.My only current issue was that I like to use a usb thumb drive to initially flash my ios and sometimes it seems to randomly disconnect for no apparent reason. All in all a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullHave many of these switches and they are a great switch easy to config plenty of features never seen one fail yet. I can not recommend them enough to someone who is looking for a solid stable network. They cost a bit more than most but they have the horse power to provide a stable core to your network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullThese are amazing. They work well for medium business core switches. Great replacement for my past favorite 3750x. The built in stacking, wireless management, and so much more is great.
