Perfect for events and portraits
Since I bought this lens it's pretty much everything I use for most of the time. I do primarily events and with this lens I pretty much never need of another body or another lens. Quality of the image is very good. Of course the cons are the size and the weight but you get used to it. I also use it for portrait, fashion and products.

Best short fixed aperture telephoto available
I replaced my EF24-70 F2.8L with the 24-105 F2.8 L IS USM Z, after CPS loaned it to me, with the R5M2. My initial evaluation was shooting a sand volleyball tournament and it didn't disappoint, especially with the Sports Action Priority AF.
I just returned from 2 weeks in Switzerland & France, shooting landscapes & buildings, so I'm looking forward to processing the RAW images. The additional 35mm of focal length was great and wish the RF 100-300 F2.8 L wasn't $10K, as that's my dream lens.

Rarely leaves my camera!
Amazing lens! First event I shot, the client noticed the difference between captures from previous shoots right away when I sent them the link to the gallery. "I don't know what it is, but these shots look GREAT!"
I have used the lens on numerous shoots - with amazing results. Worth every penny.
